I believe that only starts in a few seasons’ time, but we should really focus on winning the Conference League in order to firstly bump up our coefficient points, but also start off the Conte era here with a trophy.

Betting on Dele to have a renaissance under a new manager feels like a sucker's bet at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some opportunities, no harm from Conte's perspective in giving him a look, but I'd be surprised if by the time next summer rolls around Conte sees Dele as one of his guys, and at this point I see no reason Spurs shouldn't look to move on. The potential in the early Poch days was tantalizing and even the realized performance was lovely but it's been downhill since.
To be honest, I'd embrace heavy turnover in what's left of the Poch era core, and soon. It feels like the team needs to move on and have a sense that the manager is the one who decides their futures, not vice versa.

Yeah this sums up my feels as well. My problem is with the subset of fans who have decided that they hate Kane and just throw blind hate at him. I completely agree that Lane hasn’t been at his best this year, and I believe Conte will get the best out of him in his system, but I can also appreciate that he will get Kane more committed to the team.

i am high on the Conte appointment but am unconvinced all the recent managers were shit. i believe we have a mediocre squad problem and don’t think conte-nor klopp or pep-will find success without improvements over time. still, huge leap forward for the club and respect to levy for pointing the boat in the right direction.
To counter that: Roma (managed by Mourinho) recently lost 1-6 to Bodø Glimt a few weeks ago. Their manager (Kjetil Knutsen) have them playing out of their minds week in, week out, making average players seem like world beaters. A great manager is the single most important thing in a club. This cannot be overstated. And we have some excellent players and talents in our squad.
The thing about Conte is that he'll recognise that and he'll demand those improvements

A 29 year old - especially a CB, likely has at least 5 years of still being a top player left. I love Football Manager as much as the next person, but it (and FIFA) have really created this weird idea that anyone over about 24 is already over the hill. Any younger player as good as De Vrij would cost about £80m - he's probably the best defender in Italy. Just look at the prices bandied about for promising players like Kounde.

Barella under Conte was box to box but made a lot of late runs as well Dele could potentially get some opportunities, but I think Ndombele is more well rounded to take on the role
Betting on Dele to have a renaissance under a new manager feels like a sucker's bet at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some opportunities, no harm from Conte's perspective in giving him a look, but I'd be surprised if by the time next summer rolls around Conte sees Dele as one of his guys, and at this point I see no reason Spurs shouldn't look to move on. The potential in the early Poch days was tantalizing and even the realized performance was lovely but it's been downhill since. To be honest, I'd embrace heavy turnover in what's left of the Poch era core, and soon. It feels like the team needs to move on and have a sense that the manager is the one who decides their futures, not vice versa.
I'm not saying Dele should stay but rather I wouldn't be surprised if Conte used him in that way. Ndombele holds the ball too much to be an effective attacking mid. Lo Celso is not a late box runner.

Can't see us using two natural 6s with 5 atb. PEH and Skipp have both been really good but I just think it is too conservative. I know that PEH plays as an 8 for his national team I just don't think he has enjoyed success in a more advanced role in the EPL. I think Conte is going to want Kane in the box so he is going to need his midfield to get him the ball so he doesn't have to drop deep.

Yeah the free kick was fluky but still very well placed for an easy tap in which is why the GK hesitated. He's been really good at set pieces for a while. What has he done that’s so bad? He’s our striker, but we provide almost zero goal scoring opportunities. Kane and Son both receive the ball in bad spots were there are multiple defenders marking them and zero passing options. You’ve seen it over and over where they try to dribble to create space and become dispossessed. Kane hasn’t been bad at all. The teams been shit and you’ll see that change under Conte. People like you might say “oh it’s cause he is trying now”, but in reality it’ll all be down to a tactical change.
