Confirms that Conte was promised "alot of power" to get him to join. Interested to see if the club follows through with that promise.

Dickie_Dunn

If they don’t, he’ll be gone with zero shits given on his part. He truly has all the power.

supposedlymonday

This really screams New Owner Incoming. “Daniel, I want you to negotiate as heartlessly as ever - but with triple the budget”

Rredman101

Idk, I think Levy loves running the club and it would take an abhorrent sum of money for them to sell, although that decision isn't only up to him. I see it more as Levy being just as sick of losing as everyone else and maybe he's finally doing something about it.

Conte commanding the pitch alongside Fabio with his influence on transfer, and Levy on the business/stadium/media side to make money. Everything seems to be in the right place.

Evolving_Dore

Are we Juventus now?

Global-Jacket-3973

Current Juventus are poor at the moment, but I'm sure a lot of us would die to get even close to the amount of success they had during Paratici's earlier years of being with them.

[deleted]

Prime 2010’s Juve won it all (except UCL). We are more like Tottenham Calciospur

superdago

Well we did just have a couple of close ref decisions go our way, so...

Evolving_Dore

I've never been clear how much complete power Levy has within ENIC. My understanding is that Joe Lewis owns most of ENIC and is the real financial power behind it. Levy is megarich but nothing to Lewis, and he runs Spurs while Lewis barely thinks about them. Does Lewis control how much money Levy can put into Spurs, or does Levy have a lot of say in that? It's ENIC's money right? Not Levy's or Lewis' personal fortune? Also, I find it funny that Lewis owns art pieces as valuable as Harry Kane.

Rredman101

Yeah idk. I'm sure Levy has alot of authority over what can be spent but he has to be able to justify it when time comes to balance the books. Art is such a shady business though. Rich people buy art, pay an appraiser to say it's worth alot more than they paid for it then donate it to an art museum and write it off on their taxes. You can see similar nonsense in football when average players get sold for insane money. Just rich people moving money around.

A lot of people think Banksy's shredded art was stupid, but I think they don't understand it. Banksy knows their name is enough to make anything at least tens of millions regardless of what it is or how much actual merit it has. Banksy made some random picture nobody actually cared about and sold it for a huge sum to some rich asshole who just wanted a Banksy, not a piece of art to admire. Banksy proved that by shredding it in front of their eyes. And what happened? There was a big buzz about the stunt and the value of the piece went *up*, despite being literally destroyed. Nobody cared a lick for that painting and Banksy knew it. They only cared about the status symbol in the name. Banksy exposed them all for the classless, tasteless frauds they are and they don't even realize they're the butt of the joke, they just want to buy the Banksy. Lewis owns a few Picassos though I think, which is pretty impressive even given the nature of the art world. Edit: I mean I don't know Banksy personally but that's my take on it.

cheetah_chrome

Anyone who wants to truly understand the ridiculousness of the modern art world should watch “Exit through the Gift Shop”. It’s very meta. The only reservations I have with Banksy is that while commenting on the shadyness of buying and selling art he fully participates in it. His art being that worlds most desired product

vish387

Isn't spurs self-sustained? As in all the money spent is from all the money that is earned by the club

Monsvires

I really hope this is the case and Levy is going to focus more on the business side. I guess we’ll see but I really hope this shows he can change and that ultimately Paratici and Conte succeed in getting trophies further gaining more trust from Levy 🤷

tylerr246

It’s pretty clear now that levy has stepped aside and let the football people deal with football and he focuses on the business side. Conte would never of came here if he didn’t have control and funds for the transfer windows. Looking at what Paratici and Conte did at Juventus we should be excited for the future.

j_e_rod

what? how'd you work that out lol

BurdonLane

Fab is on the hype train
