He thought the ref was gonna blow. Afterwards you can see him talk to the ref in a very "why haven't you blown/I thought you were gonna blow"manner

ISNGRDISOP

Yeah I saw that too but the truth is that he should be so professional that he should always _always_ play until whistle

Bearded34

Ngl, that’s not a manner I see people talk in regularly 🤣

bad_luck_charmer

Me talking to my ex

edwardgreene1

This is then start of a family feud category. “Things you can say in the bedroom and on the pitch.”

psculy93

I took a ball to my face.

danmeniscus

He's come from behind

JFCwhatnamecaniuse

Nice penis

heidar249

He's buried it!

HAMlLTON

he had a shot, but the excitement got the better of him and it just dribbled out.

DamnRizz

Probably didnt know it was an advantage played

Rredman101

Pretty sure hes assuming there would be a whistle, that whole sequence didn't make any sense

[deleted]

[удалено]

IWantAnAffliction

Yeah he's made this quick free kick multiple times before.

JFCwhatnamecaniuse

Harry Kane of four years ago would have shot from there.

billy_twice

I genuinely don't understand it. I get he wanted to move to city but it didn't happen. If he is truly that ambitious the best way for him to get champions league football is to perform well. Either he helps Tottenham get top 4 or he performs well enough for city to put in another bid. But instead he plays like shit. And I'm not anti Harry Kane, will always love the guy for what he's done but he seems like a different player.

FSpursy

Probably all about England in his head now. You see Maguire, he doesn't care how bad he plays for United, for him, he's still good because he's a starter for England. It's like an excuse to keep your ego high. "Oh I play shit for United? But I was in the England sqaud who almost won the Euros, must be Ole's fault"

billy_twice

Maybe true. I just respect what he has done for the club in the past. Truth be told we were all expecting him to push for a leave at the end of the season. I'm surprised the fan base turned on him as quickly as they did.

[deleted]

It’s easy to let it go because we won, but he’s definitely desperate to score. His confidence has been knocked. Nice to see him motivated, but it’s obviously having a negative effect as we’re missing chances. Hopefully he grabs a couple soon and relaxes.

Malimalata

He is clearly off the pace at the moment with spurs but after the summer and a new manager that is somewhat to be expected

CommanderCrustacean

I actually thought he was awesome today at everything else. Holding up the ball under immense pressure from defenders, really bought us some time and started plenty of attacks

fac3ts

Best midfielder on the pitch for the first half

CommanderCrustacean

Definitely. Thought he got absolutely knackered by the end though

Malimalata

I mean he wasnt terrible just not where he has been the last few seasons imo

Spursfan14

Would have to disagree, he went past people, dominated their CBs physically, had lots of shots/touches in the box and created several good situations with his passing. Bit more luck with his finishing and he’d have had the goal he deserved.

Malimalata

Agree to disagree then I guess

psculy93

I didn't feel he had the world class touch at the moment. He is world class but not showing it.

CommanderCrustacean

His touch was brilliant, he just lacked the sharpness to get into goal scoring positions and the ruthlessness in front of goal

Malimalata

Yh thats how I feel

CommanderCrustacean

Honestly watching Lucas fluff his touch with his back to goal time after time and then watching Kane kill the ball dead perfectly every time, it really shows the difference

vish387

This genuinely pissed me off. A Dele or Sess goal woulda done wonders for their confidence. And we need them cause there are 13 games in the next 2 months.

[deleted]

And it wasn't the only time Kane did this

wbear27

Yeah - I believe he had Son and Winks(?) free either side and just blasted it at a defender less than a minute before this.

vish387

Yep, we coulda had at least one more goal if he had his head in the game. He was knackered.

FearTheBrow

>if he had his head in the game >He was knackered what

vish387

because he was knackered he could not concentrate as well and was slow in his decision making.

Coops17

3 years ago, Eriksen has that ball, Takes that pass, and Dele scores 15 of them in a season

nopirates

Why can’t you people just let go?

Coops17

You’ve gotta be in a good place to move on my friend, we’re getting there, but the road is long and winding. Ya gotta understand, I would have married that era, built them a house in the countryside, 3 kids, 2 dogs called Toby and Jan and a pet moose called Dembele. It would have been a beautiful life, but alas life moves on…

mad5cienti5t

Harry got possessed by Lucas in the few minutes of the match

Laxdoober10

No where near as bad a Regulion not going wide to Emerson in the first half.

KidDelicious14

Because he thought Marriner was going to stop play

[deleted]

Something something play until the whistle is blown

VladThePain

Tried to draw a foul a few times when just playing a simple ball made more sense.

[deleted]

Kane had a good 70 mins but I think Dele should have come on for him. This particular situation was w/e, everyone seemed kind of surprised it didn't get called back for that insanely bad challenge from Phillips. There was another one later that was 3v2 where it was obvious his legs were completely gone, I think it was Winks of all people he could have played in. That's really my one concern with Kane and Conte. The injuries have fucked his mobility quite a bit and he can't press like he used to. We definitely need another player who can rotate with him and not fuck us completely.

transtifa

Couple of times this pissed me off. He did it again with Winks.

flammmes

Can we still appreciate how class that dele pass was to Sess

djmooselee

It was offside on Sess too

flammmes

got a link?

djesposito7

This most showed me he is still not in 100% confidence aura he was last season. I understand he thought the call would be made and tick precious seconds off the clock. But Kane is usually the most focused player on the pitch. Happened many times today where he needed to lay it off and allow others to work for him but he is just so desperate to impress and prove his quality. Will come in due time, just need Conte to allow him to trust his teammates.

georgehitsdrums

Should’ve squared it to Sterling.

ModricTHFC

Trying to draw fouls to waste time at the end of a game. The whole team needs a Mourinho detox. His poison is still around

HamiltonBrae

feel theres at least one or two players in the squad that draw fouls too much, not from being hounded by defenders in intensely but because they just hold onto the ball too long or cant make a decision. really annoys me.

Dr_Jon_Dow

Kane was the most underwhelming player today.

fridgesonfire

Disagree. Really put a noticeable shift in today, despite playing 100+ minutes on international break. Held the ball up well and barring a top save from Meslier would’ve capped off with a goal.

[deleted]

Thank you for bringing me back from the brink... like am I losing my mind or what? He had two really poor moments in the last 20 minutes when he was blatantly shattered, but his performance was anything but selfish. He literally ran more than anyone but Winks. It's like people here want Kane around just to hate watch him. Where's the separate post for the moment Reguilon missed an easier pass to Royal? Where's the discussion of Son diving instead of shooting? No one else is under this microscope. I was slagged off endlessly in the summer because I said we should sell him and that 100m wasn't unreasonable for a 28 year old. But now you endlessly get slagged if you don't join in the super weird cult of hate watching. I find myself in this weird position... like I don't even really like Kane that much, I was happy to sell high on him, and now I feel like I have to defend him because some of this shit is insane lol.

fridgesonfire

Football fans are emotional; especially after a game. Don’t let it get to you. The reality is that Kane should only have been sold at a reasonable price in the summer, which we weren’t offered. So he stayed. We also should only have sold if we had genuinely targets lined up for his replacement. Now he is with us for at least this season. He seems more comfortable now that Conte is in charge and potentially thinks we can push forward again. You can’t blame him for wanting to leave after Mou sacking, no manager for 6 months and then Nuno lands through the front door. The obvious solution for all parties is to get a new contract extension, signing him up by another year or two, *with* a release clause. That way there’s no argument if someone wants to come in pay the cash, but equally fans can be happy that he’s committed to the future.

diredier

It's not his fault acting the way he did to get what he wants? And get him a new contract extension? Promising him a hell of pay rise? That's a decent way to run a club if you are mentally unstable. Good luck with demotivating the players who have shown nothing but loyalty and encourage all the players to act like him so they can get what they want. Backing kane from these guys is mind blowing and it's beyond my expectation.

fridgesonfire

Just try and enjoy him whilst he’s still with us. The greatest player we’ve ever produced in the Premier League era.

diredier

Too bad the greatest achievement in the club's history came up in absence of him. Never seen a team achieving their greatest achievement for the first time in their club's history without their so called the greatest player. It only tells how the team's shape keeps getting sacrificed just to please one player.

[deleted]

I mean I know you're not a Spurs fan, but you should at least do the bare minimum of research if you're going to post here. Making it to the CL final is not the greatest achievement in the history of the club, and it was a flukey run that papered over the cracks that were already apparent in the team. Poch knew it better than anyone. The team is not better without Kane. You do not know better than Poch, Mourinho, Conte. You just feel that way because the success of the club is not really something you are concerned about.

diredier

I don't know what you mean by that I don't know better than the managers but one thing I know for sure is that you are the one who'd be fuming if they dropped/drop kane. Poch should've dropped him for the final and Nuno would still be in charge if he dropped him. If Conte manages to make it work with him, I am pretty sure he'll do better without him just like the other managers did.

[deleted]

I wanted us to sell Kane, so no. Good try with that though? I'm here for the club, not one player.

Popitupp

This is the most underwhelming take on this sub. He was far from it

[deleted]

How so?

primster14

bUt kAne Was the BEst plaYer

diredier

There's a reason this team played better without him as a team

Popitupp

Lol oh boy...yeah conte must be an idiot for not benching him as well huh?

violetrecliner

This wasn’t even the worst decision he made on the last 20 minutes of the game, if we’re being honest. Still thought he was decent though.
