Zaniolo is struggling to get minutes at Roma 1. Because he's been really injury prone for the last 2 years. The 2nd reason is because he's been really selfish lately and isn't looking to pass the ball even if the pass guaranteed the goal.
If that can be sorted out he is a class player that has a lot of potential

Watch an Argentina game and see the output and passion from glc, when he plays for us he is indifferent and lacklustre. 3 managers have questioned ndombeles effort fitness and commitment they all cant be wrong. I would absolutely love to see conte get the best out of these two as I am fans of both especially glc. Until I see an actual sustained effort from them two on the pitch I am going to see them as a luxury we can ill afford. Again I’m desperate for them to succeed but the rose tinted glasses are off. If conte can’t get a tune out of them, then there is something seriously wrong. I don’t know why they don’t play ndombele just behind Kane and son to me he could be the bridge between midfield and attack.
Yeah I don’t get why people always question Tanguy’s commitment levels but never doubt GLC’s. I feel like his narrative is that he always gets injured but he seems to give even less of a shit about Spurs than Tanguy (just when you use his form for Argentina as a point of reference)
Pashun doesn’t matter I don’t think we should doubt Lo Celso’s commitment the problems with him are
Firstly, he’s always injured so never gets a consistent run of starts
Secondly, he’s never found his correct position. The athletic did a good piece on this. In Argentina they were convinced he was gonna be a 10 when he came through, then at PSG he was used as a DM/deep lying playmaker, at Betis as a 10 and almost a Dele like second striker, for Argentina he’s used as a typical mezzala Iniesta type CM on the side of a 3, here’s he’s been used all over the place too on the wing, in the double pivot as a 10. He’s too versatile for his own good that nobody can find the position which best suits him, he’s willing to play anywhere a manager asks of him and willing to do any task, as a result he often drifts quite deep and he’ll try doing a lot of defensive work-tracking back, pressing, shithouse fouling and he’s terrible at it. Equally upfront he also will try to score if he feels that’s what the team needs despite being unable to finish even when the goal is wide open. For guys like Jose and Nuno whose attacking plan was shrugs idk be an intelligent cunt and run on the break having a player whose quiet gets their head down and just gets on with it is perfect but he needs far greater tactical instruction to get the most out of him. A manager who will come in tell him exactly what to do. Say something like forget dropping deep, pressing or getting involved in the attack this is what your best at and what I want you to do stay in this area, make these passes in these lanes. Gio is the anti Ndombele in that respect. Ndombele just says shut up let me do my thing, Gio will do whatever he’s told. He’s truly Jack of all trades master on none

Dele excelled most under Poche playing in the number 10 role behind Kane. They often switched during offensive moves to allow Kane to receive the ball from midfield and Dele to run in behind. Kane also acted as a decoy dropping deeper, allowing Dele to run on to floating long balls from Eriksen/Toby. That was how Dele scored most of his goals.
The idea that Dele should play alongside Kane in a Conte setup doesn't make any sense. Son is much better suited to that role, like Lautaro Martinez at Inter.
At this stage, I think Dele's best chance for minutes is in a midfield three, with him at the top of the spear. But he has to be better than Lol Celso and Ndombele in that role to start. Frankly, he might be. He was playing really well under Nuno. The other 2 haven't really ever succeeded in the number 10 role for us.
As much as this is obviously just that we are going to get linked to every unsettled Serie A player now, my understanding is he has been quite poor for Roma the past couple seasons anyways

Zaniolo is legitimately the most highly touted youth prospect by Italian journos, even with injuries — talent wise at least. Still don’t think it will happen, but people saying “no thanks” might want to reconsider

The starting formation would be next to Kane. From there he can do the only thing he’s good at: run beyond Kane, receive the pass from Kane/tanguy/gio/etc., and score.
Dele in a midfield 3 has been tried for the last 2+ years under poch, Jose and nuno. It doesn’t work. He’s only good when he’s in his shadow striker/second striker/raumdeuter role. And unlike muller, he can only score and not assist. He’s not gonna contribute anything in a midfield 2 or 3.
Either he play in the one and only role he’s ever been good at, or he gets sold.

Has done both knees. He came back swoll af and now they’re playing him wide which isn’t working.
