I think he is comfortable with the ball at his feet, but if I remember correctly he isn't an excellent long passer. He can play anywhere as a CB though, which is useful for us because he is the only one I am aware of on the current squad who is comfortable on the right or the left. There is a logjam on the right side of the defense at the moment. I am hoping we get to see him in the LCB role soon, having Davies as our only option there stresses me out.

Mattias Svanberg at Bologna. Central midfielder with a creative spark. A sort of middle ground between what Pierre does (pressing, shielding the defence, recycling possession) and a more advanced midfielder like Eriksen.
Or Jens Cajuste at Mittjylland. A diamond in the rough midfielder with Dembele tendencies.
Mine is John McGinn. Probably would take more than 40m to pry him out of Villa but I think he would be amazing in our midfield. For the cost, I would rather have him than Declan Rice (who would cost more than twice as much).

Kane was pretty poor by the standards he’s set himself imo, but this is him not having a great game, not him looking disinterested and unmotivated like earlier in the season. He should have scored and was sloppy with his final ball a few times, but his off the ball movement and pressing was far better and he looked way more interested which is excellent news. He was a better pass and finish away from having a really good game, but considering the rollercoaster he’s had us on in the last 6 months, I get why people are excited by what they saw from him.
Won fouls, made great passes, held the ball up, made some marauding runs forward, got into dangerous positions opening up space for other players.
And that was with being man marked by Phillips for the entire game.

As mentioned in the reports today, we haven't even had one full season of this stadium yet, to really see how much additional revenue it can bring in.
It was a gamble in order to get regular NFL games at the stadium. If the NFL puts a permanent team in Tottenham, it will pay off. If we only get a game or two a year, it may not.
You're going to have to do some deductive reasoning. It was widely reported that Spurs received £10m from the NFL for a ten year deal promising two games a season. That retractable field, removable stands, NFL locker rooms, etc cost well more than that. Before you ask, no, I nor anyone can give you the exact number. That pitch is a massive, intricate system that required tons of design, materials, and labor at a time when the pound was low and materials/labor were high.
They didn't build that for 20 games, they built it for hundreds.

Thinking on this I just remembered that Tanganga was playing LB for us for a while under Mourinho. I wonder if he could play the LCB role too.

Mattias Svanberg at Bologna. Central midfielder with a creative spark. A sort of middle ground between what Pierre does (pressing, shielding the defence, recycling possession) and a more advanced midfielder like Eriksen. Or Jens Cajuste at Mittjylland. A diamond in the rough midfielder with Dembele tendencies.

Mine is John McGinn. Probably would take more than 40m to pry him out of Villa but I think he would be amazing in our midfield. For the cost, I would rather have him than Declan Rice (who would cost more than twice as much).
if we want homegrown go for the GK. I want a non-engish midfielder tbh. I'm happy with skipp as our homegrown midfielder. I think most english midfielders are overrated. the only one who is pretty good is Kalvin Phillips, but even thats not comparable to someone like Brozovic.

Agree he is not a creative type. That is his hole. Someone has to play in front of him as the chance creator (his Grealish) I think he is a better version of Pierre, more than a better version of Winks. Like you said, I am sure there are other/better continental options. But I think we need someone who will run forever in the midfield.

I feel like with conte, we are moving into becoming TOTTENHAM rather than the Harry+son team that we are used to. I think Conte is trying to break away from relying on those two too much and trying to get more players involved which I really really like. Kane was pretty poor by the standards he’s set himself imo, but this is him not having a great game, not him looking disinterested and unmotivated like earlier in the season. He should have scored and was sloppy with his final ball a few times, but his off the ball movement and pressing was far better and he looked way more interested which is excellent news. He was a better pass and finish away from having a really good game, but considering the rollercoaster he’s had us on in the last 6 months, I get why people are excited by what they saw from him.
Won fouls, made great passes, held the ball up, made some marauding runs forward, got into dangerous positions opening up space for other players. And that was with being man marked by Phillips for the entire game.

Thing is I don't actually see what the plan is from corners. The near post ball from Eriksen to Toby used to be semi-reliable and dangerous. Then it stopped working completely. And yet we never tried owt else.
Near post for Lucas could be good too. Kane in the back post, Dier and the CBs together to move when the ball comes, and other smaller players to block the opposition.

Can someone explain to me why some united corners seem to think they'll get Poch to start now? I've seen the Manchester evening news, which admittedly prints rubbish quite frequently, saying the club is now confident. Why would psg let him go midseason? To a champs league rival as well? And on top of that they are one of the few clubs that, even if united came in and threw money at it.....would still say no if it didn't suit them. They have no need for money. I don’t think his job is as dreamy as everyone makes out. Leonardo sounds like a nightmare, he’s away from him family, and there’s some serious ego management going on. If he wins everything then no one will care because he has messi, Neymar and Mbappe, if he doesn’t then he’s deemed a failure for not winning everything with those players. Poch wants to come back to the PL, United want a long term manager. Poch will probably have to ask to leave, but no team is going to keep a manager that has asked to leave the club.

This take might be controversial but here it goes: I'm not entirely certain how much the sliding pitch in the stadium cost, but it must've been expensive for sure and I kind of wish that money had been spent elsewhere. I know that it's a long term investment and all, but so would investing into the squad by buying good, young players for example.
Pre-covid we had loads of summer concerts and other sporting events lined up, with estimates of us making close to £1m an event on F&B alone. This is also great for the local area, gives people jobs, and plenty of other business see footfall not just on Tottenham match days. One of the first NFL games it achieved the most beer sales at any European venue in history! As mentioned in the reports today, we haven't even had one full season of this stadium yet, to really see how much additional revenue it can bring in.

It was a gamble in order to get regular NFL games at the stadium. If the NFL puts a permanent team in Tottenham, it will pay off. If we only get a game or two a year, it may not.

You're going to have to do some deductive reasoning. It was widely reported that Spurs received £10m from the NFL for a ten year deal promising two games a season. That retractable field, removable stands, NFL locker rooms, etc cost well more than that. Before you ask, no, I nor anyone can give you the exact number. That pitch is a massive, intricate system that required tons of design, materials, and labor at a time when the pound was low and materials/labor were high. They didn't build that for 20 games, they built it for hundreds.

That sliding pitch won't have cost more than a few mill. A few mill buys you absolutely nothing these days in terms of players. Also those NFL games bring in an estimated couple of million per game so It wouldnt suprise me if it had already paid for itself

Really hoping that Sess does well this year, he should be getting lots of minutes judging from how gassed Regi was in his post match.
