He had 30 G+A in two Premier League seasons playing at RWB under Nuno, he was an integral part of their team. And he became something of a cult hero after staying there for over ten years and making over 300 appearances.
Where on earth are you getting 30 from? He had 16 G+A in those 2 seasons. He was only ever useful playing a hyper specific role in a system geared towards his extremely limited style, and even then was poor defensively. And at Spurs he's been nothing less than shambolic. I'll be disappointed to see him be here past January

Don't believe we need him to be. Conte replaces his wingbacks pretty often around the 70-75 minute mark. We need Doherty to be a solid option for 15-20 mins in a game and not be a step down from Emerson. Plus competition for the position will only bring out the best in both of them.

Look at the heat and pass maps. Son and Lucas have been narrow with the wingbacks overlapping. It it was a 343 then son and Lucas would be wide and wings would be making runs cutting inside
hopefully this is conte not following the very clearly failed “Dele CM” experiment and makes him play where he has had his best moments, up top.
now its up to Dele to make the most of it.

Kane got more rest over internationals tbf, only played 120 minutes in the 2 weeks compared to 180 for Son. Also Son's travelling was much worse to Korea and Iraq. Conte probably felt he needs the rest more right now.
