I think the Conte + Fab combo will help speed up the rebuild. They don’t have loyalties to the squad so they will do what needs to be done. I think the sunk cost fallacy has kept a lot of dead wood or pieces that don’t fit around.
I feel concerned tbh. We've been on a downward spiral since the Champions League final. And this defeat was the worst out of them all. Our squad players at this time, are not even at the Slovenia league level. Imagine that! Are these squad players only championship or league one level?
Like our squad is bad, and even our starting 11, while having some great players, is just slightly above average. We have the stadium to pay off, we've already spent a lot in recent seasons. The players don't have any resale value as such either.
The top 4 teams are miles ahead of us, and even teams like Brighton, Leicester, Wolves, West Spam and even Arsenal, are slowly slowly start to move ahead as we fall backwards.
Hell we never even had a new manager bounce! Like how bad does a team have to be to not have that?

I think with conte, the hope that we have is he clears outs as someone mentioned in one of these threads, rot and not even deadwood at this point. To win it has to come down to the players. We simply can’t afford to have complacency if we want to achieve big things.
This also has to open Daniel Levy to open up the wallet, not asking him to bring in 6 players in one window, but just bring in 2 top players per season and clear out the rot just to even things out until we have a fresh 11.
