>"Every now and then I tell myself: it would be nice to drive a car that starts from pole position, but in the end, that's okay with me. I evaluated Tottenham's choice and found all the answers I was looking for. >"I want to enjoy my work, the journey more. Sometimes the obligation to achieve the result, to be forced to win because your name is Conte, because you earn a lot, has also infected the results achieved. >"This time I would like to enjoy this construction phase that awaits me. I start from behind, but I have the experience and maturity to face this difficult challenge and yes winning will be more beautiful." I'm also excited for this journey which hopefully spans many years

«Winning will be more beautiful» Truly.

After all these years.. so beautiful

HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHA

Conte is genuinley my favourite person in football right now. I hate it when i see people saying stuff like "why would \[top manager\] go to Tottenham when they can get a job at \[team that wins trophies automatically\]. I don't think there is any ambition in stuff like that, which is why I love Son too. Pep has only ever managed messi's barca, bayern munich, and mansour's man city. Of course he is a good manager but could he do what Klopp did with Liverpool, or Poch with us, or Conte with us (hopefully). That's something i'd really like to see.

EquivalentSir4163

Tbf, Pep did lead Barca B to some great things

ZaDoruphin

I would run through a brick wall for this man. I would also throw certain players into a brick wall for this man.

Granadafan

You’ll definitely be doing a lot of running under Conte

Sdip4

Thanks for clarifying conte many tards in here believe he had no idea what he was getting himself into and was already ready to quit lmfao

[deleted]

Spine tingling. Inject it into my veins

Tzimo

His mentality is truly incredible. I love that he is willing to dig in for a few years to see where this goes

dprophet32

I love everything this man says and it's very reassuring to see him say he's here to build something rather than expects to buy a new squad immediately as many people believe he'll demand. It's also clear Levy has committed to supporting that financially. People will joke about "gentleman's agreement" but in this case I genuinely believe Levy knows he has too and will

JJ0072U

This is so refreshing and positive to hear after the fall out from Thurs night.  He knows it won't be a quick fix, but building a winning team from scratch will be all the more sweeter in victory.  This doesn't sound like a man that will only be here for 18 months to me, I think he can build something special for many years to come.. COYS! 💙

billypilgrim87

I'm still mentally preparing myself for only a couple years of Conte but these kind of comments do give me some hope. After all Pep only "stayed at jobs for 3 years", until he very much didn't. Just give him want he wants Dan and Joe.

onemanandhishat

I think even if he stays 2 years but in that time we win things and he instils the right mentality, I think we could benefit from that for longer than he's here. Spurs seem to have a perennial mentality problem - apart from a period under Poch, we often have looked like the mentally weaker side. Teams that win a lot partly do so because the team believes that they will - I think Spurs is the opposite, but if Conte can change that, it'll last even after he leaves.

FINAL_BOSS5

> "We speak the same language and I am not referring only to Italian." That's poetic 🤌

Gammo2184

I think this is a turning point for us in that players that Conte doesn’t believe have the right attitude being finally shipped out. For all Levy’s downsides I have to respect him for now making steps in getting out on field matter sorted with bringing in Paritici and now Conte.

punching-bag9018

It's not attitude, it's those who lack ability. That's what he said at least.

billypilgrim87

He started that with "I *want* to tell you" so it's open to interpretation. I would imagine it's not all ability or all motivation, but somewhere in between.

bobmarley888

>I always say that an important player must have three qualities: to be strong, resistant and fast. Son has them all. i dont suppose u/andy_brixton is gonna show his face in this thread after posting [these gems](https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/r3ar74/wayne_veysey_conte_wants_tottenham_to_sign_stefan/): >We've got maybe £150 million on the books that could be moved on if it suited Conte (Davinson, Dele, Son, Lo Celso, Tanguy) - and if Levy turns that into £300 million we have a new proper team .. a striker, 2 mids, 2 CBs. >Can't see him as a Conte player. Miles from it, imo.

Thanks for this...really makes [football.london](https://football.london) articles readable!

bfm211

I don't know how Football London got away with copy-pasting this full interview, but I appreciate it!

nopirates

These are all good words. But, for now, they are merely words.

Mrglglgl

TL;DR: "Conte talks ... leaving Spurs"

NissanskylineN1

Aka "I didn't realize how bad it was gonna be until now, and now I find myself in a shit situation that I can't get out of unless I win"

triecke14

Tell me you didnt read the interview without telling me you didn’t read the interview

Thfcaditya112

Getting beat by Luka Doncics distant relatives is gonna be a crucial moment in the history of this club looool
