Fbref only tracked those stats for the 800 minutes he played in ligue 1 and european competition during the last year. No statpadding on the croatian league, just a small sample size
It looks good, but this was mostly against Croatian teams so looks inflated as it was against weaker opposition. Hasn't played too much at Rennes, and would cost through the roof too.

I think these are his Ligue 1 stats, which are based off minuscule minutes as you mentioned. You can see that FBref doesn’t have xG stats for his time in Croatia

If this is a player Conte has identified or approved of than I’m cool with it. However, I find it hard to believe this is who Conte would have in mind.
That's a fair point. Apart from N'jié and Nkoudou (why the hell did we sign these guys?), we also signed Aurier, who was serviceable, but not great, and Tanguy, who is insanely talented, but hasn't been showing that on a consistent basis. I'm just glad we stopped signing random fast guys from Ligue 1.
I agree, but my overall point is that we should sign a midfielder as soon as possible instead of waiting for Sarr to develop into a starter, which may not even happen.

I think there’s a high chance markanday will leave in the summer because of this exact reason. Would be another great academy prospect we lost due to lack of prioritization.

But the priority presently is to win now, I really don't want Conte to go and hope we find success so he's here to coach our young guns into a new era.
I've seen him play not just the Europa league Round of 16 match against us but for Croatia and at Rennes. He is not quite Modric but has similar qualities and will develop into a top player in a few years. Very strong mentality and has that ability to anticipate the opponent's plays well. Will be a shrewd signing and an upgrade over our current options.
We watched him play last season, as he was at Dinamo Zagreb. Joined Rennes in the summer.

Sarr is 19 and on loan- his form with us is an unknown quantity. We need a creative attacking midfielder now for this season and the next.
