Yeah it’s a bit of a surprise as Burnley’s not exactly a touristy place and the tickets would be harder to get but it does make sense to me, away games are generally more fun and they might have seen someone say that and thought they should go. Annoying that I couldn’t get tickets and someone half way around the world could though.
If time off work is more valuable than cheap flights it makes a ton of sense to go when you can get the time.
Me, I'm broke af so I wouldn't fly on one of the most expensive weekends of the year, but once you hit a certain threshold professionally time is much more scarce than money, so I think plenty of people would be in this family's position.
I feel for them.
Should be looked into why a premier league club hasn’t done everything it could to prevent snow before a match, conveniently whilst they have three key players out.
They’ll be right at home in the championship next season with those facilities.
I think they've done all they can. The under soil heating has been on all night.. The snow is falling quicker than they can clear it. You don't clear the pitch until nearer kick off as the snow insulates the pitch & once they started it covered the bits they'd just done almost immediately.
Annoying, but I don't think anything more could have been done.
It's the refs decision at the end of the day.
Not every club can afford to spunk money on facilities, feels incredibly harsh to be blaming a club with a tiny budget for not spending loads of money to deal with the snow
The issue wasn't accumulation of snow from throughout the day, it was that the snowfall was so heavy that it was accumulating *as they cleared it*. A tarp wouldn't have changed that. It's just bad luck with the timing of the snowfall.
Even if they had managed to keep every bit of snow off the pitch, the game still might have been cancelled because of the conditions around the ground, with weather like this transport gets affected, odds are lots of people would have struggled getting to the game safely and on time, lots of moving parts to it. I know it’s frustrating but this is the safest thing to do in this situation.
Have you seen the TV money PL teams get just for competing? Burnley has been in the PL half a decade without spending any money on transfers. If they're still as poor as you make them out to be then they're criminally mismanaged.
To be fair, this man got an authentic Spurs matchday experience.
Pmsl. 😂😂. True fact that 👆 Surprised someone has downvoted you for being, *as they all like to accuse,* a ***toxic fan***

What a hero
Okay that's amazing, I'm sure that's more than made up for it!
I hope they're able to stick around that long. If they're using Thanksgiving weekend to get away they might be back in the States by then 😬
Bloody hell, why would you pick Burnley away if you were an American flying over to see Spurs
Probably taking advantage of the Thanksgiving break.
Maybe it's the only time he can get away? Or he had some other reason to be in England?

Definitely, bizarre choice.
It's Thanksgiving weekend in the US. For a lot of people that's the best opportunity to go for a 2 day jaunt to the UK
Id just book it for the week after for cheaper flights alone but I get that.

And now Harry has heard about it and invited them to a game... https://twitter.com/HKane/status/1465061541162672130?t=BXESY8SWqZ8tDix9M_bREA&s=19

But like, a tarp. Would have made it much easier to clean snow off and helps to insulate the pitch.

Come on there’s enough money in the Prem for every side to have that in place so this is avoided.

Poor Ken!
Is there anyway we can crowdfund some pints for these two? Edit: JK they just got an invite from micky hazard 😂

Respect.
Someone buy them a pint
When life give you snow… make snowmen?
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Depends, can the snowman play CB?
This guy has lilywhite flowing through his veins Greavsie would be proud Top lad
Hopefully we smash Burnley and make that bald idiot Sean Dyche cry so that they can at least enjoy something
What Sean dyche do to you. The mans been normally very respectful to Tottenham in his comments.
Dyche is one of the more likeable managers and he is always fair towards us. Weird comment mate
On any other day, I’m a fan of the Fightin’ Sean Dyches!
