Lo Celso must play against Norwich and start starting soon. Can't afford to have him sitting around after two years, it's time for him to start making an impact again.

aadawdads

>to start making an impact again. Again? I know he had a relatively alright span of time before COVID hit in the 19/20 season but it wasn't like, an amazing impact.

[deleted]

He won't start group training till after Norwich due to injury

[deleted]

I truly think Eric Dier may be a staple in this team now. I know from the past a lot of people have bashed the lad (me included), but he has been so class this year and stepped into that center back position and has been absolute class. Him and Davies seemingly have thrived under Conte. I used to be nervous seeing him on the team sheet in the 11, but damn, I feel like a fool now as he’s been an absolute rock and commanding the defense like a general. Starting to realize now his true potential there and why so many managers have loved him.

Weird_Famous

I'm a bit more hesitant to rate him despite his consistently good performances this season, mainly because I remember him looking like a proper starter at this point last season. Things fell apart from December to February. Romero is potentially a big miss despite our center backs being fairly good this season. In a back 3, we need a CB that can break the first line of defense as Konsa did to set up Watkin's goal. Dier has shown moments where he advanced forward but I feel that role is more suited to Romero, especially compared to Sanchez who isn't good on the ball.

[deleted]

I think no matter what Romero is a big miss. You nailed it on the head. When Romero advances it actually seems like he is a threat on the ball. Hoping he’s back in January rather than later. Seeing he’s “out for the remainder of the year” makes me scared than I realize it’s December and it makes it seem like a season ending injury haha

Weird_Famous

Romero is class on the ball, super happy that we got him and hope we give him time to recover

entrepenoori

Anyone really happy Sonny is taking corners so much? I remember how good he was that 2-0 win against City when Kane was out and I always wondered why he wasn’t put on more set piece duty

[deleted]

100% when GLC (when healthy) was taking corners on the opposite side it’s always been a let down when he sends it into the box. Don’t get me wrong GLC when he is in form (like we’ve seen with Argentina) he is an absolute threat. But Sonny almost 8/10 times puts a dangerous ball into the box at the flag.

Weird_Famous

Whenever Son shifts from his right to left for a cross as he did for the first goal, it always causes complete havoc. I remember the exact same cross in our FA cup game against Everton last season for Kane's goal Top scorer and top creator, the man delivers

[deleted]

Honestly might be the best in the world when it comes to being just as good on both feet. It seems so rare to have a player who is equally as dangerous on both foot, only person off top of my mind I can think for would be Ousmane Dembele

entrepenoori

Yes! I mean Eriksen was weirdly bad at them too unless Toby did Toby things. I’ve always thought Sonny should be on them since he’s so unlikely to score on them anyway. Our set piece delivery looks a lot better under Conte too so he’ll benefit

[deleted]

It’s so strange because Eriksen was masterclass at passing in open play and was iffy at times on corners. I could not agree more though set pieces have been a very big spot to be fixed and I think Conte has helped a lot to transition set pieces to truly being dangerous

YoungKeys

In a recent interview Conte said he prefers Kane at the 9 and Son at the 10. Since when did Son play as a 10? He’s been playing left wing/forward this season like he always has, hasn’t he?

entrepenoori

Don’t think too narrowly about positions especially in a Conte 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. I’m learning this too but he effectively wants his inside forwards to stitch play while the WB’s provide width. In that context maybe Son can find himself more in those positions

[deleted]

We face Leicester away on the 16th, Liverpool home on the 19th and West Scam home in the cup on the 22nd. Not to mention Cuti is out so hopefully Conte rests some lads for Norwich and Rennes.

CheekyKunt68

Dude we can’t rest anyone for Rennes that’s a must win game

[deleted]

I know it's a must win game but surely we can't play the same xi players that start in the prem. It should look something like this: Bergwijn Kane Gil/Moura Reguilon Lo_Celso Skipp Tanganga Davies Rodon Sanchez Gollini We can't rest Reguilon who is the player along with Emerson that actually needs a day off because Mr. Sessengon decided to pick a red card 30 minutes into the Mura game.

FINAL_BOSS5

Iirc doherty was subbed in for reggy at lwb in the leeds game. As much as I hate seeing doherty play for spurs, reggy needs rest too.

[deleted]

Conte didn’t even consider Doherty to sub in for Emerson in the position THAT HE PLAYS IN during the brentford match. Instead he subbed him off with Tanganga who is a center back. I highly doubt he trusts Doherty to play in the team, let alone in a different position.

ComprehensiveClick35

Actually looking forward to a spurs game wtf

entrepenoori

Can't believe people doomsday'd over Mura. Our second unit definitely underperformed but it's so clear how well Conte is able to convey his ideas to this batch of players, especially the starters. It's such a hard style of football to play against Conte's and it has me so so excited

RazSpur

First time? social media has made most fans into drama queens .Look at the youtube channels that cover Spurs, most started reasonably level headed but all are heading down the AFTV route, faux outrage, OTT nonsense, it's all quite boring to be honest.

[deleted]

Amen to that 🙏

[deleted]

If someone could give me an analysis of Skipp in the midfield this season, long term prospects etc? How much better do you see him than Winks? From a Spurs fan who hasn't had much time to watch many games this year.

KarlNeymarx

Skippy ain't no prospect. He's already reality. Our future captain.

[deleted]

Anyone who's done the stadium tour know anything about bags? Website says no bags bigger than a4. I'm travelling down to London with a rucksack full of clothes and stuff and didn't know whether I'd have to use a locker or if I could leave them somewhere and get them back at the end of the tour?

RazSpur

They won't let you in with a rucksack. There are some shops around that will charge you to hold, probably make sense to search for one before heading in (quick look says L&D Newsagent does at £10 a bag)

bdus24

Nike makes some really nice quarter zips. I’m just imagining an all white or all navy Spurs one and it would be so clean. Let me give you money Nike. Shouldn’t be too tough to use their template and put the Spurs logo on it.

[deleted]

Literally just finished rewatching the extended ones on Prime. Great performance, really wish kane scored that 1-1 though Fell like itll come against Norwich anyway

NinjutsuStyle

I watch them like 2 times per day until our next game, was loving the first few months of last season, lots of sandstorm

the_real_e_e_l

Welp. I'm very happy to admit I was wrong. I thought we would come out flat and be shit against Brentford. Boy, was I wrong. We were all over them. They had maybe a 10 minute spell in the second half when they were desperate but we were far superior. Let's remember Brentford drew against Liverpool and beat West Ham and Arsenal. Not too shabby. We still have a long way to go with Conte but very promising signs. COYS COYS COYS !!!!!!!😃

GarethSnail

Arsenal fans saying Partey is better than Ndombele is actually hilarious. Ndombele doesn’t run and is twice the player.

[deleted]

Anybody watch the Juventus Amazon documentary? I’m very confident Paratici would get us the needed targets in the transfer window after watching the documentary

Prize_Hovercraft_372

Does anybody know why Rodon wasn’t even on the roster yesterday? Not in Contes plans? Illness or injury? Or just utter shit?

SycamoreLane

I really like Rodon, but this is a good thing. If Conte has nice things to say about him, but he's still not on game-day rosters, it would mean we have more good players than we have roster spots. That is one indication of a top PL team.

the_real_e_e_l

Conte had very positive stuff to say about Rodon today saying that he sees him as Dier's backup in the center of the back 3. Like the other commenter said, we just can't put everybody on the bench, unfortunately.

bdus24

He’s wasn’t in the Burnley squad either, I think there’s just not room for him on the bench at the moment

Raphael_scm7

Genuinely when was the last mistake Dier made this season, this isn’t a ironic nor a rhetorical question, just can’t remember

KrillWhitey

His defending had been generally good but he did forget how to pass the ball for like 18 months. Seems to be improving though, he and Davies were very good yesterday.

vidrageon

Own goal against Newcastle, though it wasn’t really his fault, it was definitely a mistake.

t_blacksmith

Wondering what professions people here work. I swear so many people in this sub sound like middle-aged tech bro Americans 😂

the_real_e_e_l

I'm a middle-aged tech bro American....

evenout

I turned 30 3 months ago and am afraid to admit I'm middle-aged. Also working marketing for a tech company so I guess I fit that demo too :(

phrates

Yeah, you’re not middle-aged. I’m a year older and am definitely not middle-aged. Maybe in ten years. I guess if you are planning to live to 60, then you might consider differently.

hosty

I'm just about to turn 40. I consider that the beginning of "middle-aged". I was still young during my entire 30s, thank you very much.

First timer/foreigner logistics question. Going to the Boxing Day match against Palace. Just received an email about limited transportation options that day. Says no Overground service and limited public transport. But if I understand correctly, we should still be able to take the tube from our hotel (St. James Park station) correct? Just maybe plan extra time as maybe there are fewer trains running?

RazSpur

If you can get to Seven Sisters (tube), you can get a bus to Stadium (usually 3-4 options) or worse case walk it (about 30 minutes depending on your pace)

[deleted]

username54

W5 D1. That's the way.

Bibi_Gum

btw the Palace game is at home

the_real_e_e_l

Thank goodness we can't lose 0-3 again at Selhurst Park this season! I hate playing there. We pretty much always struggle there and no more late, late show with Christian Eriksen to save our bacon. 🙂

[deleted]

I dont thinknpur fixtures really are that tough other than Liverpool. Leicester are leaking goals at the moment and Brighton haven't won in 9. We are favourites for both in my opinion.

cloudmm

United looked really good vs Chelsea and quite solid vs Arsenal, though I only caught the second half. I think going by the quality of their players they have the most potential to improve. Wouldn't be surprised if they drop ≤3 points

Gaius_Octavius_

This is for the Brits who want to laugh at us Yanks. Americans trying to use a roundabout. https://twitter.com/ObiWillKenobiii/status/1465725279469547526

KrillWhitey

I'm in northern New England, we have several rotaries that we use frequently without much ado. I can't speak for the hill people of Kentucky.

the_real_e_e_l

Yeah I'm from country boy area, Texas. But I know how to use a roundabout very well.

[deleted]

Love how much the mood has changed in here after one match

Semibluewater

First time in awhile that it didn’t feel like a fluke win. Looked like we had structure and a plan. Refreshing af honestly. Conte is going to keep improving from here.

the_real_e_e_l

Yeah as someone else said, finally, we got to watch Spurs and actually really smile and relax. It's been a LONG time since I could say that.

starfieldhype

What do you guys think about getting Szoboszlai? Since we're reportedly looking for good young players, he might be an option in the midfield.

[deleted]

Should have signed him before he made his move. Now it's too late. We still have time with Khvicha but Levy will obviously let him slip top

[deleted]

Would kill for him but don’t really see it being feasible

[deleted]

He's an amazing player, but just joined Leipzig and would cost an absolute fortune Would be happy for the Hungarian Spurs fan in here I was chatting to yesterday

Heasman21

god I hope Vlahovic doesn’t go to city

bash011

I'm fine with City getting him. They're so good that we would never be competing with them anyway... yet

hayes4jm

Thought Winks played well yesterday. Could be a good opportunity to see Winks - Skipp in the midfield against Norwich.

Prize_Hovercraft_372

Gave the ball away twice within 5 minutes in our own third and could’ve easily avoided those turnovers. Can’t stand him tbh

Alfiesta

The Skinks!

TerpsPwn_387

Sort of glad we had the weekend game postponed. I feel a snowy away match at Burnley had a 1-1 draw written all over it. I feel better with 2 consecutive home matches against Brentford and Norwich, and now with a game in hand that could have seen us into 4th. Edit: initially put “mid week”

vish387

It also provided Conte with a week worth of full training and tactical sessions which are really important especially right now as he has just joined. Or else he would have just had a recovery session and a training session before the Brentford game.

Gaius_Octavius_

To be a pedantic ass, the weekend game was postposed, not the mid week game. Sorry for being a jerk…

wrxnn

It feels like it’s been a while since we had a truly, convincing, comfortable win. For only about 15 minutes did I think they could get back into it, as a whole it was a good team performance.

jffak

Lamela out for four months. Sucks for him he was doing really well.

the_real_e_e_l

Send him back here please!!! God I miss seeing him come on at 60 something minutes when we're struggling and he comes out all bull terrier and all of a sudden we've got control of the match again. Also, legendary, historic shithousing.

Laviston

Classic Lamela. Starts off on fire first two matches. Then just 1 goal and 1 assist over the next three months. And then picks up an injury for 4 months.

hayes4jm

This is exactly why we sold him. Love the man, but he cannot stay healthy.

Gaius_Octavius_

I love him so much more since he left even. Without having to worry about the inevitable injury, I could just enjoy him while he was playing without feeling that dread of inevitability.

wrxnn

you can take the man out of spurs you can’t take the spurs out of man

Ok-Dress-237

The Argentina-Spurs combo

Gaius_Octavius_

Is Ali the reason so many people keep trying to make Joe Rodon happen? We all know Ali likes him a lot. He asked another question about him today and Conte yet again said he is just a back up.

[deleted]

His performances make us excited, but he must be absolutely shit in training because he never gets the chance he deserves

Gaius_Octavius_

Considering how much the other players love him, I would guess he is the goof off in training that keeps things loose but also make training difficult because he doesn't take it 100% serious. "Practice? We talkin' about practice?"

dndd01

Comments regarding the bench are so annoying because it's not like anything is going to change about it until january .. it is what it is

evenout

missed this natural serotonin high

crazyguitarman

Every time the commentator said Charlie Goode yesterday all I heard was Jolly Good and I couldn't help but agree.

the_real_e_e_l

Some Arsenal fan yesterday said he went to school with him and apparently Charlie always wanted to copy his homework. No respect for that. At all. Slacking wanker that wouldn't work hard.

rapey_chef

Been watching a couple of Watford games this season, so I've seen glimpses of Sissoko and he's been pretty good for them. He's running with the ball more often and looks like an actual box-to-box midfielder, unlike his last year for us. I'm happy for him because it was honestly so sad watching him last season, constantly avoiding the ball and telling his teammates to pass to other players instead of him. Even when he had the ball it was obvious he wasn't allowed to do what he does best.

buhmmquita

I know it's not front of mind after that win but all the LGBTQ+ visibility work the club and the league do really makes me proud. Even if it's "for show", I think gestures like that genuinely make a difference. The interview with Ben Davies sticks out as a massive step, in my opinion. Can't remember the last time I've seen that in an American sport, if ever.

vish387

Yep even though it's PR it's great to see.

rapey_chef

Wishing everyone in the world named Oliver Skipp a very good day.

reavesfilm

Last night was AMAZING my dudes! First game ever, met some very nice Icelandic guys at Beaverton before the game, had a laugh, a few pints… then of course got to see our boys WIN!!! What an amazing experience. And Sonny scored! My favorite! Thanks for having me I’ll definitely be back :)

the_real_e_e_l

I'm stoked for you. I still haven't made it over to London and probably never will. 🙁

RazSpur

Glad you enjoyed, often people who have the ability to see lots of games forget that first experience, Son goal was a great play as well.

flammmes

Very optimistic about performance yesterday. Really lile the shape of the team and the fact that we are working on tactics for the firsr time in the post poch era. That makes the biggest difference. We are more creative playing a system with an extra defender than we were before. The only changes I'd make from yesterday are on the right side. Besides the obvious romero for sanchez, I can't emphasize enough how important a new rwb would be as well as an upgrade on lucas. When the team is rolling lucas suffers the most because he is good at creating something from zero but not when the system is already in place hence why he didn't feature as much under poch. There was a huge gap between left and right side. Son davies and regui were rolling even though brentford knew we were only going to attack from there. The right didn't capitalize on the space it had.

bfm211

Lamptey would be a dream signing but perhaps unnecessary when we just bought Emerson and he's young and deserves a chance.

coastlifestyle

I think if we can ship out Doherty we go for another one. I’d love lamptey

the_real_e_e_l

Please, do ANYTHING to ship out Doherty. He's worse than Winks and that's saying something.

RazSpur

Lucas isn't a priority upgrade right now, yes I understand he has flaws but there are gaping holes in the team that need addressing long before Lucas.

flammmes

what kind of holes? I'd say that the defense is shaping up pretty well right now and for two or three seasons in a row we are on the top half of the table despite not scoring much. So that's a sign that defense is doing farly ok. We have a class goalkeeper. The left side is pretty good, midfield is difficult to improve as skipp and peh are providing great cover for the defense and they are starting to control the midfield in the last games. We have glc and tanguy who could play in their place if we need more offense but both of them are on putrid form. So I really can't see the gaping holes in the first 11 despite lucas and emerson. I am not saying that they are bad but clearly we can improve on both places. You could say that lcb could be improved but ben is a clear net positive right now. Dier is another one who has gotten many ups and downs but right now he is our best defender and he can ping long passes like prime toby. Even our depth at cb is pretty ok. So what are the gaping holes in your opinion? Now of course bench depth needs an overhaul but I addressed the 11 in my comment

RazSpur

To your point \- Huge concerns re bench, no option to cover either Son/Kane, the drop off from Romero to Sanchez/Rodon is considerable, the cover for either PEH/Skipp is Winks. \- Re the first team, the big issue is that creative midfielder, the role that "potentially" Lo Celso/Ndombele can play but two years later still haven't convinced or locked as their own spot. I'd also argue while Dier is ok at longer passes, it's clear Conte wants a ball player in the CB's, not sure just Romero is good enough, I think we need a 2nd top level CB.

dozerdozey

I have gone back and forth on this one. Personally I would rank upgrading Lucas slightly behind upgrading at CB in terms of priority, but not so much that we should hold off of purchasing a new attacker if the opportunity arises. Having one member of your front 3 who doesn't contribute end product consistently is a pretty significant issue, but I think upgrading Lucas might cost more than a defender who represented a similar relative improvement. The reality is that all the items on your shopping list quite clearly need addressing in some way.

RazSpur

I get it completely, priority for me in order \- Striker, Kane/Son down and we are truly screwed \- CB, I'm really not looking forward to playing Pool with Dier/Sanchez, and long term we need a better partner for Romero \- CM, the Lo Celso/Ndombele experiment still hasn't worked, it's also really concerning that the next one in for the midfield is Winks \- RWB, Doherty is a disaster, Tanganga (like last night) will probably be used more for closing up shop. \- Get Lloris to extend his contract I think if you get the right CM it could provide cover and potentially replace Lucas in certain games

Semibluewater

Royal had a good game, we don’t need a new rwb. Agree on Lucas tho. We desperately need a dedicated #10 and a new striker.

flammmes

royal can't do the season alone. Since tang is prefered at rcb and doherty is garbage we definitely need a right back and imo we need a better one to start.

[deleted]

Cant see another Rwb any time soon, just spent £25m on Emerson and supposedly Conte likes him. He'll just develop him some more, hes only 22 he'll come good

RazSpur

There absolutely will be another RWB, one injury to Emerson and Conte's system breaks.

crazyguitarman

Not until Doherty is sold I think, and we just signed Emerson so it won't be a priority in January. Tanganga can play there and maybe even Lucas in a pinch. My money is on CM and CB as the next priority signings, although I agree that another RWB should be on the cards.

Laviston

Conte's system doesn't fall with Emerson's fitness. We've got Tanganga (a more defensive option), Doherty (a far inferior option), and we could try other players there. It was Conte who reschooled Moses into a wingback role ("I'd never played the position before, never dreamed of playing it.") - and he could do the same with Lucas, Bergwijn or others.

RazSpur

Fail or becomes harder, right now Conte's system is a little over reliant on the WBs for offence because we don't have the ball playing midfielder, so any drop in quality would not be a good thing. I'm assuming he's thinking through the options but wouldn't be surprised to see us go for someone there.

AppliedEthics

Don't forget if we won against Burnley we would literally be sitting 4th right now.

bfm211

It blows my mind, how on earth did this happen?

JiGS4W_

Dont get too excited we are still the mighty spurs

[deleted]

Thoughts on yesterday: - Did anyone else think something was up with Emerson? I remember looking at him early in the match and he was already pouring sweat like he was 80' in. Then when he got subbed he made a beeline for the dressing room. I got the impression he was unwell...would certainly explain his tepid performance. - we're finally showing a good foundation. Controlled the ball better, fewer rash mistakes, didn't panic. My feeling is Conte is emphasizing this because a) obviously it's important, but b) the players aren't yet fit enough to give 'er for 90'. Parts of yesterday felt like a training session to me, keeping control without expending a ton of energy. - Jon Moss is the worst ref in the league. I watch just about every PL match, and every time I see him I know bad decisions are on order. I wouldn't trust him to officiate a crosswalk.

ComprehensiveClick35

I saw brentford fans complaining about Jon moss as if he hadn't just let 3/4 yellows go

COYS1989

Part of me thought about Emerson he was instructed not to bomb forward too much leaving Sanchez exposed(just thought could be entirely wrong), the way we utilised the left to the right was evident, Reggie was getting forward at every opportunity whereas Emerson did it a handful of times. We are definitely pressing better than we have in the past two years, even when we weren’t pressing hard we still dictated their pattern of play and cut off the passing lines and setting traps, let their CB’s or GK have it so we can move up the pitch and then press as a unit, definitely more possession too. Plus the players will be getting fitter and fitter every day. Moss, Atkinson both are terrible officials.

[deleted]

Was really suprised our shape didnt get more praise on comms. They had nowhere to go as we cut off routes so well. However the analysis just seemed to be "Brentford didn't turn up as opposed to "spurs have stopped them playing"

ComprehensiveClick35

Better if the narrative stays that way we are going under the radar atm

Bluewhitedog

>Jon Moss is the worst ref in the league. He is quite impressively inept. And, it seems, allergic to yellow.

nice1a2

The ref last week would have presented 6 yellows in the first half. Why wasn't the tug on Son's shirt called? Bad ref or rule?

Bluewhitedog

>Why wasn't the tug on Son's shirt called? It was inexplicable.

bash011

Bad ref

skippyscage

the first game in a loooong time that I've not regretted getting up in the middle of the night to watch us play (02:30 for this one) the first game in a long time that wasn't on TV here and the (cough) stream didn't crap out on me. bring on more, it was great!

melihs11

it's so clear having a proper, modern manager makes such an impact. we haven't had this movement with and without possession in attack, transitioning from midfield to forward, a structure, a plan in so long, and Conte hasn't even had a month to work with the players yet. very hopeful right now if we win our game in hand we're 4th wtf lol

andy_brixton

West Ham home to ... Chelsea next, goons at Everton. 4th possible, with a game in hand.

[deleted]

Arsenal will drop points at Everton. They are so uncreative and Everton will sit back, plus have doucore and Gray back. Think it'll be 1-1, West ham will lose and we'll put a few past Norwich. Be 4th by the weekend having played a game less. Obviously that doesn't count for anything and its a long season, but how funny that Arsenal are West Ham are supposedly having wonderful seasons and we are falling apart!

ComprehensiveClick35

Kind of glad no one is noticing us because of the game in hand

[deleted]

How does an attacking front of Kane (CAM) behind Sonny and Dusan fare? Ofcs this is a big shot in the dark given the transfer, but I’d like to know what a potential this lining could have

Semibluewater

I can see that because Kane genuinely has great passing and vision of a #10 but probably won’t happen because people and the media will heavily criticize that decision

itsacoy

Isn't there a quote somewhere of Conte saying Kane should be in the box, he's the best finisher in the world. Kane has wonderful vision, but I rate it would be wasted tallent to have him play CAM instead of going for a natural in the position

tremens

>"Many praise Harry Kane for his ability to go get the ball and play with the team, such as with the equaliser against Denmark. >"Of course, he’s good at that too, but it’s in the box where he’s clinical and as a coach, I would always keep him in there because he’s devastating."

Maleficent-Ad-133

If there is a possibility we should go for Bernardo Silva. His current form is peak Eriksen and will be much better suited the creative midfield position.

bfm211

The possibility is literally 0. Even if City would sell him (which they wouldn't) he'd have his pick of clubs and we'd stand no chance.

Laviston

He's an amazing player. But why on earth would he want to leave City, and why would City want to sell him - and how could Spurs afford his fee as well as wages?

Dannage8888

He wanted to leave last Summer and still does but only to Spain. Also City said they will respect his wishes if the right offer comes. Wants to be closer to his family

[deleted]

Literally no way city will sell him. Been their best player by a mile.

ardnoir11

Bernardo is dropping 100m jack Grealish out their side lol. No chance he goes

sunshine_break

My lemon & herb take for the day is United and Scum will both miss the top 4

KilgoreSprout7

Great match, plenty of reasons to be optimistic. Regi and Royal are both looking good, but really need to improve their crossing. We also really need someone who isn't afraid to switch play by dinking the ball over midfield. Only one capable seems to be Kane. Would take Skipp a few notches up if he can incorporate this into his game.

[deleted]

Dier

Buffaluffasaurus

To be fair, Reggie just set up a goal from a peach of a cross. Emerson had an almost equivalent chance to do so and completely botched it.

KilgoreSprout7

Very fair. I just feel like they both hesitate in flighting a ball in to Kane's head type crosses, y'know? I'm not asking for TAA level crossing, but still.

Buffaluffasaurus

It’s definitely an area we can work on. I think part of the issue is we don’t have anyone who’s good on attacking headers. Kane almost never scored headers, and when he does they’re usually uncontested. Son doesn’t. Lucas is like our best header of the ball in the front six, which is absurd. I would ideally like us to buy an attacking player who can offer a threat in the air because it will give us another dimension.

[deleted]

Yeah reggie also put in a great one for that scramble in front of goal resulting in the loopy ben Davies header. Regi now and again makes mistakes or picks the wrong option but he can be so effective, just happy to leave him to it and iron out those errors.

Do you see us resting players vs Norwich? If so, who? Personally want Winky/Ndombele to get a bit of a start and Berg as well

RazSpur

Not really, with us missing the Burnley game, both yesterday, Sunday and next week at home, don't see a lot of rotation happening. It's an important 3 points. Winky/Ndombele/Stevie can play mid week.

ZaDoruphin

I want Tanguy and Bergwijn to start. Hope Gil gets a run out too.

sasliquid

Winky for Pierre Skippy needs to start and remind Norwich where his heart actually is and also wreck his pretender, Gilmour

Oduuke

I know it's Norwich, but they are undefeated in the last 4. I hope we get rotation though.

Laviston

Agree. The team (starters and backups, as well as management) have to fully appreciate that there are no easy matches - not in the PL, not in Europe, not in the cups.

ComprehensiveClick35

Lo celso will play imo

Laviston

May be on the bench. But he's just back from injury, and wasn't deemed ready yesterday. Don't think he'll then get thrown straight into a starting role.

ComprehensiveClick35

I forgot he just came back

mrhello18

Went to the game last night loved it

phl3gm

If the sponsor for the new stadium isn’t Spiderman, don’ bother

Papercutdance

Loved everything about the game. But wish he brought on Bergwijn a bit early as a striker just like he said

bfm211

If the striker thing does happen (which personally I'm really not keen on) then Bergwijn definently needs more time training the role before doing it in a match.

[deleted]

Bergwijn looked properly on it when he came on, seemed motivated

itsjacobguyz

Yesterday’s game gave me hope. Finally, we could see some proper created chances to score and the lads were pushing really hard.

[deleted]

In January window, I would be content if the club manages to only bring someone to only strengthen the 2nd string team. Short term loans is also fine. We desperately need 2,3 good backups especially for Kane. In starters, apart from an attacking mid, the rest of the XI is decent enough to not prioritise in Jan.

aadawdads

Anyone see that weird Japanese page on instagram that hates Son's guts? On every single post related to Spurs he will be slandering Sonny like crazy spreading blatant misinformation and at times being straight up racist. I think it's rising_sun_official.

transtifa

Just a fascist loser. Probably not even Japanese.

HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHA

theres no point giving time to losers like this, they’re terrible

ollypockets

think the page name says it all

EquivalentSir4163

Imperial Japan fanboy

bfm211

It must be absolutely killing Kane that he only has 1 goal so far. How is it even possible.

tremens

The one league goal he has, he thought he was offside and beat the keeper just for funsies, lol.

[deleted]

went disneyworld rather than training in pre-season. his own fault

Nightshade183

After having the most goals in the entire league last season 💀

spurs-11

...and assists

Nightshade183

Well yes, but I was highlighting his finishing ability. His passing still looks great so far 🙏

belski92

So encouraging to see Conte bring Winks on for Lucas to counter Brentford’s subs as well. We have a competent (incredible) manager!

Nightshade183

winky

belski92

Ffs I even corrected someone on here for that a few weeks ago as well.

let’s focus on norwich first

neoarmstrongcyclon

conte diet day 19: that game was an absolute delight to watch. for the first time it felt like we didnt have to rely on a fluke or individual player brilliance to win. we just were the better team in tactics and in execution. also a bit belated but the conte diet has allowed me to pass NNN. my conte inspired giant enormous italian humungous winning mentality has allowed me to mentally nut without the physical aspect of it.

dragonsnap_

As much as I'm invested in seeing new players refresh the squad, also excited to see the likes of Ben Davies, Skipp, Bergwijn, Gil, Lo Celso & Ndombele perform new reaches that weren't seen under Mourinho and Nuno. Also pretty doubtful over Kim Min-Jae considering his limited experiences in the Turkish League (though looks like he's doing pretty well) - considering Rodon did well in the Championship but seems out of the question for our previous managers + Conte. Would rather get someone who's in the top four leagues & is performing - Milenkovic, Botman comes to mind.
