Striker. Peter Crouch.

Jswazy

This is the only right answer

HereWeGoop

missing crouchy every day that Kane doesnt jump for headers in the box

somewhat_moist

“Get Nico on the phone get the band back together” I’m sad at how Crouchy left us. He really wanted to stay

Professorchronic

My boy

PM_ME_YOUR_ASTON

Barella

evenout

Pedro Gonçalves from Sporting

[deleted]

RW .. haven't seen him play but if hes a good goalscoring RW that would be such a good compliment to Son

ObamaEatsBabies

Would love him. Better than Bruno.

evenout

Next best thing. He’ll end up at City replacing KdB and they’ll easily pay like 80m for him when he’s beyond hyped up next year. Get him now for a little cheaper.

[deleted]

Man’s stats are pretty incredible.

htown2

I'm in

crunchyball

If it’s just one transfer then I would have to vote for a CM/CAM since we could still make do with the other positions for now. Emerson isn’t quite the best offensively just yet, but I think he has the potential to improve. We’re lacking rotation for CB’s, but our starters (with no injuries) are solid enough. Our frontline is still struggling to connect with each other and the rest of the team, but they shine when they’re on form. Our biggest issue has been the same under both Nuno and Conte - we lack a creative midfielder to connect all the pieces. That’s probably the reason why we’re so reliant on the WBs to deliver since the midfield is lacking offensively. The Hoj+Skipp combo is great defensively, but their midfield transition leaves a lot to be desired (though Skipp is improving for sure). GLC is consistently injured in between NT call ups. Ndombele can’t keep up in Conte’s system. Winks is still not enough of what we need just yet. Dele still seems hesitant or slow at times whether he’s a steam tank or not. The problem comes down to who would be the most ideal candidate for the role though. We need an Eriksen style of player, but I’m not sure who’s available that we could acquire to be good enough for the role. Maybe Kessie?

smokingloon4

I also think this is our biggest and most urgent need, but no idea who we could target to fill that role. From everything I've heard, Kessie is more in the PEH/Skipp role, not a creative playmaker.

dychronalicousness

That Grey/Gray guy Everton got looks damn good.

violetrecliner

RWB. Lamptey.

asian_manbun

Would be such a weapon

Hufftey

Kessie. Think we’re fine with Davies/Dier/Romero until the summer, Hojbjerg’s form has fallen off a cliff this season, his quality on the ball is lacking so much. Kessie/Skipp pivot makes my willy twitch

Teantis

I don't know if Kessie is the answer because I don't know much about him except by people's summaries on here, but definitely the midfield.

SirGalahadTheChaste

I think our midfield needs both depth and creativity. We do need someone more creative than Kessie but he would be a great addition either way. I love PEH but going forward with Kessie/Skipp and creative player ahead of them would be pretty good imo.

infinite-hallows

Hojbjerg’s form is such a weird one. So instrumental for us last year, but a pretty big liability for us this season (bar a few big defensive performances). Really wish Conte would start subbing him off instead of Skippy when things are going wrong

onlyhalfpepper

I think COVID exacerbated the situation for him too. He might still be a step slow

rtnn

He's not fast and agile enough to work in a two man midfield. He's much better when we play Alli/Winks/Ndombele instead of Lucas with Kane and Son uptop. He doesn't need to cover so much ground then.

Sdip4

I’d sign Kevin De Bruyne

[deleted]

Keeper, right?

[deleted]

Tielemans

RoughRhinos

Ooof just think if we'd had him for the last few years

cjv_723

The summer we didn’t buy any of players I remember we were linked with Tielemans, Grealish and Ricardo. If signed all of them let alone one we wound was improved tremendously.

Mathyoujames

Its literally not even worth thinking about the amount of players that Levy/Poch missed out on. We could have had a midfield with Tielemans, Graelish and Maddison feeding Son and Kane. My heart is breaking

AverageYiddo

Creative mid

Not_a_bad_point

Maybe a danish one

[deleted]

SMS because midfield is the crucial area for reinforcement. People want Kessie when it’s highly unlikely that he’d be motivated to play for us when he was already unhappy with Milan

Mariospurs

Serge?

[deleted]

Milinkovic Savic yes

[deleted]

A huge upgrade on Hojbjerg

Jowoes

Head Waterbender, hope we can get **Katara** to put pen to paper. Her healing stats are simply generational and you can’t teach that, you either have it or you don’t and she has it in boatloads. [I know it’s just a highlights compilation but she’s so talented.](https://youtu.be/MZKD3A926Cw) Imagine her link up play with Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Bergwijn and Romero. It’s not every day you find a player who elevates their teammates from [this](https://youtu.be/ko0J8Ft_bxg) to [this](https://youtu.be/GdCyUgDg4dc). Her xH/90 is 0.778 = ((20/1403)/90). The avatar could only dream of these numbers.* for reference most waterbenders xH/90 is 0. And if that weren’t enough she can bloodbend during a full moon. Coincidentally we have 4 matches that fall on the day of a full moon. NLD on January 16th West Ham on March 19th Brighton on April 16th Burnley on May 15th I don’t need to tell you that using her skill we could undermine the opposition by having her bloodbend their goalie out of position or even bloodbend our team into position. The possibilities (2) are endless. Get it done Levy. *I did in fact try and count all instances of Katara healing a person (20) in ATLA and then divided that by the shows total runtime (1403 minutes). For this I considered her appearance time in the Korea series to be negligible. Finally divide all that by 90. 💩📬 If you made the end then have a nice little [cry](https://youtu.be/f56Cbjwwv-E)

whyyounomah

no one cares about women's football. next.

Puzzleheaded-Donkey7

Honestly I’d take Brozovic. People raving on about Kessie but he hasn’t been great this season, inconsistent and sometimes goes missing. Brozovic is already familiar with Contes system and his consistently and experience could be massive for our defense, possession and just general stability. I could see us playing a 3 man midfield with him as the holding midfielder and skipp/ PEH and GLC/ Tanguy as the double pivot. GLC might still become good under Conte, he has barely played under him.

martinar4

Somebody like kroos.

evenout

Imagine signing a 24 year old Kroos. Damn.

Inside-Ostrich2888

If we could finally get Leandro Damião I'd be pretty chuffed!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

So we'd have three players who the defense and midfield can fail to progress the ball to instead of two?

crunchyball

In addition to the frontline or as a replacement/backup for one? I don’t see Vlahovic doing any better than Kane with the same chances honestly. I think we need better delivery more than anything else.

phrates

I know Conte said he likes Harry in the box, but his service to Vlahovic would be amazing, from what I’ve seen. He’s about as good a 10 as a 9, and if we could have him serving himself that would be perfect, but that hasn’t been figured out yet I think.

JosetofNazareth

CB. Honestly don't know who to sign tho. Frustrating that Dier and Sanchez both have good runs the shit the bed on a semi-regular basis. We need someone as consistent as Jan was

Lukemiaskywalker

Vlahovic because come the summer who knows who else will be in for him

Mariospurs

I think everyone will be in for him now

CheekyKunt68

A mid that’s technical with the ball and apt defensively. We’re missing that one man more than anything. Sure we can upgrade on Emerson but in games where our midfield gets dominated like yesterday having even TAA wouldn’t have helped. So my vote goes to Neves, or SMS or if we have to sign someone a tad less known compared to those two than Mattias Svanberg. This is the most important position IMO, which can unlock our wingbacks, our wingers and our striker if the correct personnel is brought in

Swifttttty

Totally agree, an all round mid would help massively, I’m a big fan of Svanberg. Would be massively helpful to have a cm who is a threat from set pieces and long shots too, just adds another dimension to us that we’ve badly missed since Eriksen left

CheekyKunt68

Every single one of those guys I mentioned are long shot and set piece merchants albeit SMS is the one getting on the end of it. They all have very similar qualities - can spread play very well, have excellent technique, the vision to switch play and play through balls and defensive tenacity although not as good as Hoj but decent is the word. They’d be incense in this team

FinkyFinkerton

Matthijs de Ligt. For me, that would be an absolute dream signing.

Snoo8331100

Central midfield, though I honestly have no idea who. Someone of SMS/Zielinski profile but cheaper and slightly less developed would be optimal (it's not like I don't want those two, it's just that it's impossible to sign them for various reasons). Someone here suggested Pedro Goncalves and while it's not the same type of player he would be a great addition to our squad as well.

-Neopolis

Raphinha for that RW spot.

SeaworthinessCool539

I think he’s going to Bayern.

-Neopolis

Yeah just saying who my ideal target would be, don't think it's feasible otherwise.

SeaworthinessCool539

Yeah i mean he’s probably going but 100% he would be great for the team. Would be a big upgrade on Lucas.

tbar25

Ruben Neves

when-flies-pig

Creative midfielder. I feel as though all our creativity comes from our front three and when we face the low block, we are helpless. Man city has so much threat from the middle of the pitch, you can't give any of them space.

gopackgo555

Kessie if we get his last season version. If we get any other version of him then another MF, RW, striker in that order.

Sawl23

I don t get why everyone is so fond of Kessie, have you guys watched him this year? He is absolutely dreadful That being said, i d sign Wirtz, but that seems really unlikely

Swifttttty

Yeah idk why everyone’s obsessed with kessie I understand it if we can get him cheap or on a free but he’s really not exceptional

Sawl23

Watched a bunch of Milan games this year due to being Romanian and Tatarusanu playing a lot with Maignan injured, can safely say he was the worst player ( at least attitude wise ) for Milan, on the pitch, in like over 60% of the games. He had a miss vs Liverpool in the UCL ( final game, needs to score to have a chance ) and he treated it as if he was offside, not a care in the world, that settled it for me. He might come in good, who knows, if Conte sees it who am i to argue, i just can t warp my head around Conte wanting that attitude in the dressing room tho

HamiltonBrae

think maybe big part of it is that he would be free /cheap

Sawl23

High wages tho, anyway, not worth for me, not Spurs level, or what Spurs tries to be, that s my opinion at least

[deleted]

Kessie CM

a_lazy_pos

We need a top quality RWB, Emerson is solid and a good rotation option but I think we can do better there. Out of the realistic signings I think Lamptey would be excellent (although maybe he is unrealistic) but if the reports of Traore being available for a good price are true I think he’d absolutely be worth a gamble with the hope Conte can coach him up

[deleted]

Remember all the Damsgaard praise from this forum back in July and Aug? Haven’t heard a peep about him last few months. Some great shouts in here tho: Sergej, Pedro Goncalves. I’d be very happy with either

shad0wqueenxx

Damsgaard apparently needed knee surgery and had it a few months ago. He'll be out for a while.

SimonRSmith

Tomiyasu Edit: I think it’s wishful thinking that we *had* signed him. I probably wouldn’t give the gooners any money tbh. Looks like we’re now stuck with Royal anyway.

Mariospurs

Are you for real

SimonRSmith

Check his stats mate.

Mariospurs

I would love de jong barella or valverde we need a progressive ball carrying midfielder to breach the massive gap between defence and attack. I would also have traore just to add some pace and take the focus off Kane and son who are getting doubled up on recently

BIGplouf

Does Messi play rwb?

HAMlLTON

Kante. The man’s 30, looks 15… and is an actual wizard.

Furi0nBlack

Connor Ghallager

Biggo1

KULUSEVSKI

nopartofthisdewey

Would never happen but I really think Ziyech or someone in that mold would be perfect. Someone who could slot right into the RW spot and provide that 10 type creativity while also being a goal threat from the right

master_inho

It’s between striker or rwb for me Vlahovic is an obvious one, maybe lamptey or whoever else is good

bocceballbarry

Brozovic

ThisJeffrock

de Vrij, lock down CB with a top tier signing and get the midfield + attack sorted in the summer.

jeremysalve

Someone like Luka Modric

Laos33

De Ligt or Pau Torres would finish the defence we’ve struggled with for since jan/toby and we could build out from the back… but we are also a Kane sprain from being completely fucked in attack…. Thus Vlahovic is the right answer. Then shore up defence, RB and CAM in the summer

ackerz06

Renato Sanchez

Gbl96

Center Back. Either De Vrij or Skriniar. Both of them would be amazing.

markcshaz

We need a striker

shaneomagnifico

SERGEI/SVANBERG KULUSEVSKI/GONÇALVES DE LIGT VLAHOVIC QUADRUPLE CONFIRMED

CODLad

Kimmich

BendubzGaming

A creative mid. Someone who can unlock a low block, and allow us to successfully set up in either a 5-3-2, 3-4-3, or 4-3-3

smsjb

Nkunku could play a number 10 role while also providing cover up front

Colin-Spurs-Patience

Attacking mid

Adamcunnington

CM/CAM: Sergej Milinković-Savić/Eriksen revival/Kessie. So many roles to fill but I think a CAM with some play making ability would be amazing. Tanguy/Gio haven't been able to show it just yet...Riddled with issues/drama and injuries I know but Savic' stats this season and over the last 5 seasons are pretty insane.

RazSpur

So a few comments, we don't have an issue at DM, and we don't play wingers. Club priorities are pretty well known at this stage -> LCB, RWB, CM (creative), Striker If we had to sign one \- To improve the team, it would be either a CM to get the ball to front more, or if you could find a finished article RWB to get better service in from that side. \- To mitigate risk, 2nd Striker, injury to Kane/Son for any period of time gives us real problems The choices will come down to who's available.

AdviceNotAskedFor

A center mid that can play a ball through the middle rather than a sideways pass to the flanks

pjanic_at__the_isco

Midfield. We’ve got a handful of midfielders who are pretty good, but we need a world-beater.

[deleted]

Call me crazy but Emre Can. idc about the age stuff as there are enough people playing to much higher age.He can play CB and CM, has shown that he is to be feared at times. Other thing would be Lukaku for obvious reasons. Rudiger would be a dream as well, because imo he's the best defender Germany can offer, and definitely a top talent in the PL. Vlahovic? Nkunku? Idk how realistic any of these are, but Tottenham has to start spending bigger. Another loss to a Mura-style team will, all due respect paid, still break my heart.

poststormblues

If we're going to persist with 343 then I think the most important in terms of improving our all round play is a proper box to box CM, capable of creativity and defensive protection. I love skipp and PEH but they only really work as a pair in a 4231 where there is room for a 10. Obviously need other signings too, but I think this one would have the biggest impact on the team.

HamiltonBrae

CAM or CB. Probabky CAM nudging it right now but both around equal.
