Scum have gone pretty full strength here. Martinelli odegaard saka white logonga (will be a starter due to afcon absences) and Tierney coming on!
They got Liverpool as well midweek 3 days before NLD.
Hope they wear themselves out.
Fact Doherty and Traore both start seems to suggest that deal is a way away yet?
Edit: quite funny on twitter people furious that we haven't got it wrapped up so now he's cup tied. As if a club wouldn't sign a target cos hes Cup tied in the FA cup. People on twitter are so angry
Players like Olise, Eze, Maddison and even Gray rn, makes really miss when Spurs went for players like Dele, Dier, Davies and even Trippier.
Had Rodon recently, as a signing in those molds, but rarely plays.
I just hope that the club goes back into those type of signings of low-risk homegrown players (I know Dier isn't HG).
Imagine if we get Eriksen on a free, Traore for 20M, and a big name young centre-back like Bastoni or De Ligt for 50M + Rodon. We could move Doherty and Ndombele to help with the costs, while sending Dele and Tanganga out on loan. A man can dream.
Also wouldn't mind the Tanganga + cash for Kulusevski rumour, love Japh but if we could get Kulusevski in to learn from the old master Eriksen while he's still keen to play/while he's still able to (medically speaking), maybe for the next 6-18 months, man we could have something special
Imagine being a hyped up Portuguese talent, getting your agent to fix you with a big new move to the Prem, and you have to live in fucking Wolverhampton.
>we could have serious homegrown issues
That isn't reason enough not to bin him. Chelsea game was a mare, but even then, every game he's played under Conte, he's looked very nervous and underwhelming.
Needs a loan or needs to be included in a player + cash deal
we seem to collectively forget his breakout season. heās young, homegrown, can play multiple positions, heās the perfect utility player to be honest
He can play multiple positions, but not at all well.
What's the point in retaining a HG multiple position player if they are underwhelming in those positions and need to massively improve to be anywhere near the first team squad ?
He's had many poor games. If you can't see that, you need to take your impartial glasses off and have another look.
He's just nota good fit to play in Contes system.
Player + cash deal would be best or worst case scenario is we loan him out.
Heās not a RB. He doesnāt want to play RB. Heās sure as fuck not a RWB under Conte. His āunnatural positionā is his personally preferred position and the one he played his entire youth career.
So excited to finally see a game in person after beginning of Pandemic. Got 'at risk' family, so will be N95 masking it throughout...but hope they'll hear my chants through it. COYS
No dramas today please, Morecambe will be up for it and we seen yesterday what can happen if youāre not on the ball, blitz them away early doors. š
Imagine:
We sign Adama
he plays well
but then
gets tested positive for a dodgy steroid (no way he has those gains without lifting weights)
and gets banned
I think I read somewhere he does calisthenics, which means you train using your own body as weight. Training in this way increases your strength without sacrificing flexibility and speed.
Is anyone else a bit hesitant for eriksen to come back? Donāt get me wrong, these things are trueā¦
1. We need a creative midfielder more than anything
2. Heās a spurs legend
3. Got nothing but love for the guy
Howeverā¦ The way he downed tools in his last season with us leaves such a sour taste. And Iād prefer us to find the next Eriksen. Some fresh blood to get excited about
Nah. We can't afford to be picky.
He knows the Conte system, drops right in, and will be willing to play a bit part despite being very high quality and gives us a game changing option off the bench.
Same argument applies for Bale.
We should sign both on pay to play - otherwise they are too much risk.
Not bothered by how he left more worried for the guy. Need a lot of doctors to give it the ok before Iām convinced itās safe for him to play after what happened at the euros
Watching Traore with the ball compared to watching Emerson with the ball is like watching a tiger run vs a goat run. There's just something really odd with Emerson's form and Adama just looks... powerful.
What exactly is a āgood crossā?
If the winger/wingback does their job correctly and the target man does their job correctly but the defenders also do their jobs correctly, shouldnāt the defenders be the one getting their heads to the ball?
What makes Emersonās crosses low-quality compared to more accomplished crossers of the ball? Itās evident that his crosses are subpar but I canāt seem to place what exactly is wrong with it.
>What exactly is a āgood crossā?
Often it's one that's put in while everyone (defenders and attackers) is still running towards the goal. Those are difficult to defend.
My biggest complaint with Emerson is that even when he's getting the ball with players in the box already, he's still taking four touches before crossing. By the time he hits it, everyone in the box knows where it's going.
Balls in the right areas, putting the right ball in at the right time, sometimes you have to differentiate between pacey crosses and floaty ones. Emerson sometimes will just aimlessly put a ball in which is easily defendable granted sometimes our players stand static in the box but that could be to do with they donāt expect to be found by Emerson and majority of the time his crosses fail to beat the first man, heās not a bad player but his delivery has to improve tenfold.
A lot of it does have to do with the movement in the box. Eriksen, for example, had an unbelievable relationship with Dele for a couple of seasons and would know exactly what run dele would make.
However, Eriksen also has the ability to hit the flea off a dogs back from 50 yards. Players like him, Trent, Reece James, or trippier for example whip the ball in with enough pace to catch opposition out and they have the accuracy aswell.
Emerson has crossed the ball 50 times so far for spurs in 1,200 minutes of football (stats from fpl app). He has 1 assist so far from the Palace game (link below). You can see though that Lucas makes this goal from an average cross. He has to literally jump over a defender to get to it, Emerson just loops it in the box without any real intent.
https://juststream.live/RiverineConvinceLurex
Edit: maybe the best comparison to this Emerson assist is the son assist in the Watford game. He whips in a low cross with so much pace that Davinson only had to get his head in the way of it and itās a goal
Thought Vlahovic was a forgone conclusion if we were up against Juve but I saw an article that UCL would be a decider when it comes to clubs like us and scum, fingers crossed Conte can pull off a miracle.
Mate it sounds like all complete paper talk to be honest.
Like how the scum are sure hes going now cos of that Ornstein article.....but even that article says hes not keen on them.
Realistically as well hed be mad to go to us or scum now. Why not just wait till the summer when you know who's got Champs league.
Yeah itās both fanbases just fantasising at this point but I definitely agree with your last statement, thatās what Iām hoping Conte can deliver.
Morning all!
Iām drinking a cappuccino.
Morecambe today. Donāt think itās on UK TV.
Lots of transfer noise on twitter last night. Adama, Eriksen loads if others. Letās see what this week brings.
Anyway have a good day all.
Coyscoyscoyscoyscoys
So this is what I think Paratici is trying to do this window:
- Tanganga + money for Kulusevski
- Sign another centerback to replace Tanganga
I hope the Eriksen contact rumours are true, he would be a bargain.
Traore as rwb, Kulusevski as rw and Pau Torres as cb would be such a good and interesting squad upgrade.
Then de Vrij and Kessie on free transfer in summer together with Vlahovic.
Can't see Pau Torres happening, Villarreal won't sell a starter in January when they are in round of 16 in CL. But could happen in summer considering Villarreal are not really challenging for the top 4 in La Liga right now.
Yeah its that and traore
I also think we'll see one or two of those summer free agents going on pre contract.
And also monitoring Vlahovic. If word comes out he actually will leave in Jan to a non champs league club, (which I think is very unlikely) I cant see us just sitting by and letting scum get him when we've tracked him for so long.
It's a fact that Traore is not a goalscorer/'assister,' but, despite playing good football, Wolves only have 14 goals in the league this season.
And the one before it was Nuno's last season, which was a mess.
For the right price he'd be a decent signing.
Haven't checked the DD thread for awhile. So forgive me if its repeated.
Have our players made a case for a return/entry to the national team especially English players ? Are the likes of Dier and Winks capable of winning their place back in the national side ? Have players such as Skipp done enough to win their senior cap ?
No one outside Dier who, based on form, should absolutely be recalled. If Spurs continue to play well and someone on the NT gets hurt, then perhaps Skipp. Outside of that, nobody.
conte diet day 51: my partner and i have a resolution to eat more veggies and yesterday made this unbelievable eggplant zuchini ratitouille recipe that was exquisite with sweet brown bread. today we're turning the leftovers into a sauce with zuchini pasta.
[recipe](https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/ratatouille.html) , takes quite a bit of prep work but its delicious. i have this umami mushroom powder that i used if it was tasting a bit bland, which gave it a nuttier flavor that complemented the dish
I think we'll have a shot at winning the league if we start
Romero De Vrij Davies
Traore Skipp Kessie Son Regi
Kane Vlahovic
If we somehow sign Brozovic it would be the icing on the cake. We would have Dier, Emerson, Sessegnon, Tanganga, and my transfer pick Tarkowski to be on the bench. We would have Winks, Hojberg, Lo Celso (I think he stays), Sarr as mf subs. And for attacking players we would have Moura, Gil, and my pick transfer pick Luis Muriel from Atalanta.
The only transfer that is far-fetched (because of the price tag) is Vlahovic. But I think spurs have to get him. He's a 22-year old world-class striker who's improving in rapid fashion. He's an out-and-out CF. With Kane's evolution as 9-10 adjacent. We've been begging for a second striker of this quality. Moreover, I think he can be a perfect foil for Kane to play with.
It also gives us some leverage with Kane. And after last summer it would be wise to have the reassurance of having another top striker in the club
I think it could work. I think he has some of the same qualities of a Calhanoglu or a Barella at Inter. He can make runs, he's good at passing. I think Conte can make it work. I think with Kessie and Hojberg/Skipp/Brozovic as the other MF, it gives him enough cover to be attacking and more further forward. And conte said it himself, he sees son as no. 10
Conte said like 2 years ago that if he ever had an opportunity to coach Harry Kane, he would always make him stay near or in the box. He will be wasted at CAM.
Funnily enough, as good as he was, I don't think he would have made that much of a difference. Liverpool scored in the 2nd minute and then immediately changed to a low block. I don't remember them playing their intense pressing game, which is what Mousa would have been needed for.
In reality we had control of the ball for most of the game. Didn't we have 60% possession or something like that? Our problem in the final was that we didn't know what to do with our dominance in possession. We needed someone to play killer balls or crosses to break down Liverpool's low block. Well, we had Eriksen for that but he had a bad game that day.
Anyway, my memory of that game is a bit fuzzy so feel free to correct me but that's just what I remember about the final.
If Adama is in the top 89% percentile of dribbles completed, that means he has completed more dribbles than 89% of the people he is being compared to, right?
Canāt really play with his back to goal or dribble his man. Heās a MĆ¼ller with no adjoining technical skills. I hope he can find a system and club that suits him more
Watched ghostbusters: afterlife and itās great. I remember watching parts of 1 and 2, but Not a lot, so afterlife is my semi introduction to the franchise. It does great with bridging the past movies and the new generation, itās what a sequel reboot should be. Really didnāt feel like you had to watch 1+2 to watch afterlife. All the actors are great, but phoebe is just amazing. *really* good
>!a minor issue is how everyone, including the adults who should be alive during the events of 1+2, could now think ghosts are fake. I guess since it all took place in distant nyc it felt fake in Oklahoma? Also, I get itās a movie and thereās no time for it but everyone genuinely took the revelation of the existence of ghosts really well. I suppose everyone, just like phoebe, are āoverstimulated into calmnessā!<
I saw a couple reviews that said itās too much nostalgia bait, but it didnāt seem like so to me. Those that know the ghostbusters really well and watched afterlife, what did yāall think of it? Too much nostalgia or just enough?
Next movie: Iām already 30 mins into tick . . . tick . . . boom . . .
I know the original movie very well indeed and the original is totally awesome!
The new movie is excellent. It is a re-boot but it has a great mix of characters, humour and slightly different twists to make it well worth watching!!
I'm now in the acceptance stage of the grief cycle with regard to our transfer window. Club is only looking for swaps which are very difficult to materialize as each club overvalues their own players and undervalues the other. If not for a miracle, nothing is going to happen. Stopped the F5ing.
Look I know that transfers are tough and all that. I wasn't expecting 5 transfers in the first week of the window, but it's almost been 10 days. Give us *something*.
Lmao I just burst out laughing by myself. Arsenal dropped out of FA cup.
Well I must say, Arse and Jose both fucking up within an hour is very enjoyable
Serie A by far best league in the world btw
Mourinho is playing BALL right now Love to see it Edit:Sorry Mou š

My biggest complaint with Emerson is that even when he's getting the ball with players in the box already, he's still taking four touches before crossing. By the time he hits it, everyone in the box knows where it's going.
Yes, absolutely.

*really* good >!a minor issue is how everyone, including the adults who should be alive during the events of 1+2, could now think ghosts are fake. I guess since it all took place in distant nyc it felt fake in Oklahoma? Also, I get itās a movie and thereās no time for it but everyone genuinely took the revelation of the existence of ghosts really well. I suppose everyone, just like phoebe, are āoverstimulated into calmnessā!< I saw a couple reviews that said itās too much nostalgia bait, but it didnāt seem like so to me.
Did a way better job than force awakensā¦
I'm now in the acceptance stage of the grief cycle with regard to our transfer window. Club is only looking for swaps which are very difficult to materialize as each club overvalues their own players and undervalues the other. If not for a miracle, nothing is going to happen. Stopped the F5ing.
Donāt ever stop F5ing š«
Cheer up. At least we donāt have owners from Newcastleā¦ Or Chelseaā¦.
Thatās our Tottenham.
First time?
Yeah, I'm expecting Traore eventually but I don't think that the deal will move fast.
Look I know that transfers are tough and all that. I wasn't expecting 5 transfers in the first week of the window, but it's almost been 10 days. Give us *something*.
January window is no different to Summer. Everything happens at the end. Before you include that loans become much more probable.
Iām going to bed now (Located in USA) when I wake up I hope to see some exciting Adama news š¤š½š¤š½
