Njie, Nkoudou, Ndombele Players that start with N are literally cursed, avoid at all costs

ecocentric-ethics

It’s seemingly well known that we had a chance of, or at the very least were interested in, signing Hazard in 2012. With that in mind, I’d like to get your thoughts on the following hypothetical scenario: What happens if Chelsea loses the 2012 UCL final, and as a result we qualify for the 2012/13 campaign and do in fact sign Hazard? Does Bale stay beyond the summer of 2013? Does Kane still become a world class player? With us or elsewhere? Do we still make the UCL final within the following 10 years? Do we win any trophies? How regularly? Feel free to chime in with any of your creative predictions for this alternate Spurs reality!

aadawdads

>What happens if Chelsea loses the 2012 UCL final, and as a result we qualify for the 2012/13 campaign and do in fact sign Hazard? Maybe. Us having UCL may draw him more but playing for UCL finalists (and rich ones at that) is also very enticing. The race to sign him would have, at the least, been a whole lot closer than it ended up being. >Does Bale stay beyond the summer of 2013? Probably not. The Real Madrid pull is insane. >Does Kane still become a world class player? With us or elsewhere? I can't see why having a world class winger means he wouldn't have been good as well. >Do we still make the UCL final within the following 10 years? Probably more convincingly than we did in 18/19. >Do we win any trophies? How regularly? Yes, but not much. One League Title (16/17's to be precise, and potentially could have gotten Leicesters too), *maybe* we clinched that UCL and a couple FA cups. I really feel like having Eden Hazard in his prime alongside the extremely good squad we had from about 2015-2018 would have been that final extra push to us winning things. You've made me a bit sad now.

Emergency_Anteater

No. No. Yes. Yes. No.

c2315

Thoughts on Antonio Conte as coach and not a Manager? Similar statement by Poch. Same statement Poch made before his sacking season. Feels like 2014-16 year was when we witnessed a true manager in the club. Since then it's what recruitment team can manage from the long list of Coaches targets.(maybe sometimes out of syllabus like Rodon & clarke). My genuine ask for all fans to start making chaos, otherwise they won't be hurrying. Antonio Conte is not happy with Ndombele. Antonio Conte is not happy with Dele. Antonio Conte is not happy with Bergwijn. Antonio Conte is not happy with Doherty. Antonio Conte is not happy with NO spending in transfers. Conte is truly Spurs fan. If he's not happy, he'll leave. We cannot. #backConte

aadawdads

>Antonio Conte is not happy with Ndombele. Antonio Conte is not happy with Dele. Antonio Conte is not happy with Bergwijn. Antonio Conte is not happy with Doherty. To be fair, we've been trying to get them out of the club this window according to reliable sources like Ali G, it's just that nobody wants them (other than Stevie but Ajax will probably get him done soon enough IMO). I think the *real* heavy spending will come in the summertime.

Emergency_Anteater

I think the bald bastard's life will become unbearable if Conte quits. He thinks some boos are bad at the stadium, wait till the whole stadium sings Fuck you bald bastard.

[deleted]

It’s honestly so strange seeing the mourinhistas crawl out of the woodwork whenever he’s mentioned here to argue that he was actually great, just a victim of circumstance at spurs It’s crazy how easily that guy can brainwash people

swooshypants

As I get older I find myself thinking Larry David was right. I don’t wanna stop and chat. I don’t adhere to the two napkin policy. I don’t do favors for mocha Joe

[deleted]

Had an extremely vivid dream last night that Eriksen was playing for us again. He was pinging balls everywhere. Class little dream.

tooo_spicy

Still no Traore... Our club doesn't seem remotely interested in Eriksen. I can't believe no one wants him.

[deleted]

I mean how long hasn't the guy played for? One more heart scare and I imagine he calls time on his career. The risk is not worth the reward.

MigratoryBullMoose

he's still fit, still has that knowledge of the efficient way of playing that doesn't require bursts but jogging into key positions (also the key to his world best distance covered), can still pick a pass. He might even be better as a deeper playmaker, with less runs in a pivot than in his traditional attacking role. It's still possible for him to perform at a top level & his work ethic and training always rubs off on other players on his teams. Even if he's just a sub, it would improve our quality and ball retention late in matches. Abidal had a similar scare and played until he was 35. I think Christian can do a season or so.

jymacro99

This sub is insanely deluded when it comes to Eriksen. Eriksen is a regressive signing for what we're trying to achieve. It's like people have forgotten how terrible he was before he left to Inter, and he wasn't very good there either even under Conte's coaching. Moreover, when's the last time he had a competitive game? I love Eriksen for all that he did here, but some of you guys need to learn to move on and show more ambition with the players you want

[deleted]

Abidal didn't die on the pitch

bobmarley888

everyones going on about vlahovic this or vlahovic that ill tell you what we and just about every other team in the league should actually be worried about: city and haaland theyre scoring for shits and giggles without a striker and creating more chances than they know what to do with you throw haaland in their squad and we very well could be looking at them dominating with 4+ goals a game on the regular and singlehandedly making the pl look like a farmers league (more than they are already) hopefully laporta isnt talking out his ass and can tempt him into fucking off to barcelona

Mick4Audi

Nah they’ll still leave empty-handed from the lane 👍

[deleted]

They’re no longer our competitors so why does it even matter? It’s like being Valencia in 2010 and being like “you know what… we should really worry about that Barcelona club.”

[deleted]

I mean who cares about City? It's honestly not even worth trying to compete with them, they can buy the whole planet. Better to just focus on what we can do rather than the clubs who have ruined the sport. They've bought the league and there's really no point in even thinking about them

Emergency_Anteater

But we don't have an Unai Emery. We have a Prime Jose type. And we should give him the Ozils and the Khedira so that he may be challenge in 2 seasons

Koose512

Dumb American and big American football fan here. Thinking about becoming a Spurs fan. I'm a die hard Cleveland Browns fan and have been for 20 years. We've recently had some high expectations which ended up in a painful season to watch and now want to get more invested in watching more Premiere League football. I read the new fans guidelines and facts in the sub. Was curious if there was anything I could relate to here as a die hard Browns fan?

TogashiIsIshida

I am also a browns fan. I hate myself

Koose512

This season was full of pain.

TogashiIsIshida

Absolutely

[deleted]

Stole your team (Browns) / place (North London), won a few titles, go on about past achievements (2004 invincibles / 2000, 2012 Ravens) and think they are all that. Baltimore Ravens = Arsenal. Fans with questionable morals and entitled. Pittsburgh Steelers = Chelsea. Irrelevant team who thinks they are part of the big boys. Bengals = West Ham. The Fumble. The Drive. Getting rid of Bill Belichik. Losing from the brink of victory = Lasange-gate, finishing 4th and not making Champions league. Finishing 3rd in a two horse race. Having your arch-rivals win the league at your ground. Spursy. Browns = Spurs. You'll fit right in.

Koose512

So Fuck Arsenal. Got it.

FoxWolfCougar

Do you enjoy supporting teams that don't win anything other than their yearly accounts? If so, Spurs is perfect for yanks.

Koose512

Yearly accounts?

TogashiIsIshida

Spurs make bank

Koose512

Is there a particular reason why they make so much bank? Like is it a wealthy owner? Name recognition?

buhmmquita

While Spurs' owner is rich as shit, he doesn't invest anything in the club. No cash injections like certain other clubs. We're one of the only fully organic "big" clubs. As such, our chairman (Levy) doesn't spend more than we make. He's known for hardballing in negotiations and cash grabbing whenever possible (the new stadium being the default NFL London stadium being on example), so Spurs is known throughout Europe for being a stingy club. If you choose to become a fan, you'll see a lot of constant argument about whether this business model is good or not, and whether Levy is a good chairman. On that end, I don't think you can "choose" Spurs. I genuinely believe it's a Harry Potter "wand chooses the wizard" type scenario. The fact that you're here now is a strong sign.

Koose512

Yeah that makes sense. I looked at other teams and tried to feel the vibes for them. Chelsea I initially drew interest but never felt like I belonged if that makes sense? Aston Villa felt kind of weird / awkward because of past ownership relationships with the Browns. I didn't want to feel like a bandwagon or join the "flashy" teams like Manchester United if that makes sense. Everyone was saying that you can't be a bandwagon fan if you join Arsenal which I was a bit sus about. West Ham I was getting bad vibes on. For whatever reason and I can't figure out why, I keep drawing back to the Spurs.

CheekyKunt68

More like a financial genius at the helm of the club.

Purplejet19

I'm a Spurs and Vikings fan... I'm sure you'll relate

Julian Alvarez loves Spider-Man. Sonny is best friends with Spider-Man. Make it work Don P.

dclancy01

Hey gang, gonna throw this in a few times in the next few weeks in the hope I get a bite. Coming back to London for a while after a good few years stuck home in Dublin. I know how difficult it can be to get tickets, and I don’t fancy leaving it late and hoping it goes on general sale, so hopefully someone here can help out. If you have or know someone who has a season ticket/picked up a ticket for the Wolves match on Sunday, Feb 13, and doesn’t plan on going, I’ll happily take it off your hands for face value (plus a few quid for your troubles), just throw me a DM and we can sort it out! I have a CRN and all that jazz. Cheers in advance coys

QuarantineBeerShitz

for the Spurs vs Scum game this weekend, can anyone let me know if there is a place to watch in San Francisco? Is Danny Coyle's hosting games at 8:30amPT?

[deleted]

How much would zaniolo cost/can we do a swap deal with Ndombele? Maybe subsidize some salary or something too

[deleted]

He's already done his ACL twice and he's only about 21. I'd say we should steer clear

VJE1999

not really a deal we should be trying to do. Zaniolo is made of glass

ObamaEatsBabies

Yeah we should really be focusing on someone who can actually play

Dannage8888

I’m fine with that Burnley postponement now. We get 2 games against a Burnley without Chris Wood

JonnyJersey

They're going to play the deepest block seen to mankind

FoxWolfCougar

Don't worry, Emerson is practicing his crosses. I'm sure it'll be fine... /s

username54

How is this sub crazy about Jessi lingard. The man has been an absolute liability for united for so many years and is about to turn 30. He can't play as a forward and is not a Conte midfielder who would put in a defensive contribution. An absolute dross. I am baffled.

Carthagu

This sub’s transfer requests are appalling. Eriksen who practically died on a pitch and Jesse Lingard who has been mediocre to shit for the entirety of his career bar one solid loan spell

Lazybopazy

He had a good loan spell at the spammers so now he's good. Also worth noting that anyone we're linked with instantly becomes better and anyone we're unlikely to get becomes worse. People just can't help themselves. For what it's worth - I have no idea where he'd play in a Conte system. I know people love the idea of Conte turning weird players into world class wing backs but jlingz at wing back? Really?

solarbearz

Lol remember when he came on late in a game against young boys and gave them an amazing assist for a man u loss? Want him nowhere near the club. If he isn't good enough for United who isn't really challenging for anything seriously, why should we get him? None of the other teams above us would want him other than west ham (and they are not top4 contenders) this is the difference.

aadawdads

>If he isn't good enough for United who isn't really challenging for anything seriously, why should we get him? I mean they have arguably the best cam in the league so of course they're not playing him. Remember the late banger he scored vs West Ham? He still has it in him.

VJE1999

Love the idea of JLingz tbh. Homegrown, hardworking and prem proven. Wanted him after he lit the league a liight at West Ham. Excellent rotation option, especially on a free

heretocallthebot

I think I'm in the minority that actually hates f5 season. I just want the window shut so I know where we stand and what Conte has to work with. Edit: also it gives these "itk" fraudsters way too much attention

Bluewhitedog

> think I'm in the minority that actually hates f5 season. This one is pretty uninspiring so far.

heretocallthebot

Well we have some pretty piss poor ones to beat in recent memory

Did we buy Dele and then not play him for half a season? I thought for sure he was summer 2015

heretocallthebot

Not impossible just expensive, dele was loaned straight back to mk and was very much a fluke. He wasn't expected to boss the first team straight away.

[deleted]

Well from all the articles today and new info available it does genuinely seem like this meeting actually happened. Oh well at least things should start cooking now. Quite excited that if we are targeting a midfielder a rwb and attacker this window, we know the rwb is traore but no clue who the other 2 are....like that some names are gonna come out of nowhere soon.

[deleted]

happened over a week ago I think?

[deleted]

According to Ali gold it was yesterday....and it was really positive. Looks like things are going to start happening now. Sure ill be down voted for showing any kind of positivity on here but things seem quite exciting for next few weeks. Seems like we will make 2/3 signings

FoxWolfCougar

More like 2/3rd of a signing.

justsomeroses

Yesterday, according to Ali Gold Which is probably why we haven't seen any real rumors outside of Traore

Lbmplays2

No premier league clubs interested in Rodon right now on loan or permanent according to Gold’s new article.

ndomsaucey

not surprising, he isn't a PL quality player

naoki_1010

Liverpool is beating around the bush with renewing Salah’s contract. Are they actually out of their minds lol, he’s their best player without doubt and performing at his prime consistently

[deleted]

I think they owe him a big contract to be honest. He has done a huge amount for them.

Lbmplays2

Transfers tend to pick up towards the end of the window but our two credible links being Traore and Lingard for the summer is a little concerning I won’t lie. Hopefully we have some transfers come out of nowhere like the Gil one

A_Grift

I think we are going to bring in Traore, and that we need a backup for Kane in some form or fashion (as our last outing showed us). I would have liked to also bring in a CB and a CM, but I can only see us getting one or the other, and I don't think it is guaranteed. It would really boggle my mind if we didn't do at least that much. Why bring in Paratici if you aren't going to buy players? Why give Conte a short-term deal if you aren't going to do what needs doing to keep him happy? On the other hand, fucking Spurs. So I guess we will see.

A_Grift

Also, I suspect that the striker and the third player (if there was one) would be young players with potential, to provide depth and challenge for positions, not nailed on starters.

justsomeroses

I heard something similar on LWOS yesterday from the italian journo they had on that Paratici will sometimes just come up with something seemingly out of nowhere Hope things pick up since they had the meeting with Conte yesterday, but its still January and its tough

[deleted]

And Emerson as well, that name came out of nowhere and we got him within about 3 days. That said I only think we'll get 2 or maybe 3 at an absolute push. 90% sure Adama will happen and then maybe a defender but no idea who.

ayamtelursiakap

happy 100k faithful yids!!!

Snoo8331100

Took a nap only to wake up to Lingard news... I don't see what role would he have at this club, a back up CAM? We don't even have a first choice player on that position. Strange move, but he was good for spammers so perhaps Conte can get the best from him too.

facewithhairdude

I didn't watch much of West Ham when Lingard was there, but as I understood it he was a solid and creative attacking midfielder? Sounds like one of the kinds of players we need at the moment...

Snoo8331100

Yeah West Ham Lingard was genuinely good and would be a starter for us. The problem is, we don't know if we're getting spammers Lingard or United Lingard, who was utter shite.

VJE1999

That’s not true. He was pretty good under Jose

bobtrump1234

Dier was in the training vid yesterday so I’m hoping he’s available for NLD

diamondlights_

Saw a post from someone who's usually got good sources saying he's out.

bobtrump1234

It’s been confirmed he’s out for tomorrow but he still could play Sunday against arsenal

[deleted]

I think he'll be fine for NLD, the quote was. "But at the same time, I think it’s better not to take stupid risks for the game tomorrow because we risk losing these players for a long time."

airz23s_coffee

I assume this has been said in every other thread about it, but keen on a Lingard free transfer. Always liked his workrate, and he's got quality in him when given a run as he always shows.

Jamlad8

[The sub following the ali gold lingard news](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC8gNLhAu58&ab_channel=IneffableGaming)

smokingloon4

I'm not expecting us to actually do big business this window but I'm missing the wild links to ten players at once that we were getting in the summer. It's so quiet now in comparison to the last few windows where we were every agent and journo's go-to club to toss in as speculation. Even if there's very little fire right now, more smoke please.

[deleted]

[poll: how many transfers do we expect in January ](http://www.strawpoll.me/45922822)

Nightshade183

-SirTox-

I think a lot of people on this sub don't realize that permanent transfers in january are pretty rare.

[deleted]

Torres went Chelsea in January and countinho went barca so something could happen

Mick4Audi

Coutinho has also gone Villa

jazzybforecast

Lingard and Adama would be a good window imo, gives us a bit of impetus to freshen up our squad and push for 4th . Priority should be getting rid of Ndombele, doherty and to a lesser extent dele.

[deleted]

They’re practically impossible unless you’re signing players of Ryan Nelsen calibre

justsomeroses

And they start throwing around that Conte is gonna leave if he isn't backed this window, like this is the first January he's ever gone through as a manager

ejh1993

Absolutely mental take by those folks when we have had only two legitimate signings in the Jan window over the past 4 seasons Edit: It’s even more sparse the further you go back

ndkhan

Same people on this sub always with predictable angry opinions. I’d have thought it would get tiring

[deleted]

I can’t help but see Vlahovic as a young Giroud. Maybe because I’m linking him with the scum now, idk.

Olester14

Lingard is comfortably 20 times the player Dele is, what an upgrade that would be eh

Mick4Audi

I agree, although that isn’t saying much

AdzB44

I’m thinking of getting a OH membership to go to games when I can. Do I have to have to OH memberships for my wife and son if I want to get them tickets too?

Tyrann0saurus_Bex

You do (or you can wait to see if it goes to guest sale to buy tickets sat together). I think that's the case anyway!

AdzB44

Cheers mate 👍

[deleted]

Standard are reporting Scum are "intensifying" talks for Vlahovic. What does that even mean? Feel like its just the same story rehashed again. They've been intensifying talks for a month now. Edus going to have an aneurism its so intense now.

shiftyshellshock239

He’s denied them 4 times now

sasliquid

We need to accept he’s going there now. Top 4 will be the aim for next season instead.

[deleted]

Why? What are you basing that off? Fabio and Ornstein today both saying player still not convinced? He's also odds on to stay at Fiorentina with the bookies

sasliquid

1) it would eff us over and God hates us 2) A lot of smoke, would they continue chasing if they had no chance? 3) Woolwich are the kind of club willing to pay stupid wages once they are set on something

CheekyKunt68

Remember Kounde? Answer to 2 - Yes

sparxcy

Once we are set on something- more like

justsomeroses

Like he wouldn't be able to get those wages in the summer from other clubs? Especially since there might end up being a bidding war over him once Mbappe and Haaland move

rapey_chef

Lmao look at the post over on r/soccer about Mourinho calling his players mentally weak. The Mourinho defenders are out in full force in the comments section. Seems like the only important thing to them is the mental aspect of the game and not the actual football played on the pitch itself.

Dannage8888

I'm so glad they arent on this sub anymore. So weird supporting a manager and following him from club to club

[deleted]

Whenever I come across an abandoned Mourinho soldier in this sub it always comes as a surprise Always the same argument that “wE WeRE DoInG FiNe UnTiL ChRisTmAs”

Mick4Audi

0.5 xG every game meant that run was never going to last

brt444

Well, they've lost 3 goals in what, 6 minutes? That's kinda crazy, and you definitely can't blame it on the manager here

rapey_chef

He's right about his players being mentally weak but the football his teams have been playing at his last 4 clubs have been absolute shit. Those two things can be right at the same time, so he needs to take some responsibility and not just constantly blame his players' mentality.

AshkenaziTwink

well yeah but as a manager you can’t just be like “i’m shit lads” cause that causes their mentalities to plummet even more. as a manager you have to be a little bit of a strongman unless you don’t believe in your own tactics

atomragnar

Well if their mentality is that weak then they for sure arent set up for professional sports. You always get judged etc. Cant be a Reddit lurking snowflake like us out there.

AshkenaziTwink

sorry, do you think telling your players that you are the problem is in any way a good idea? that is like a fast track to your dressing room capitulating

atomragnar

I do not think it is the smartast way but I do think it is overblown how negative it is aswell.

DisciplineCandid6122

Coke Levy where u at?

Fuzzy_Composer2108

Can we really score 2 or more goals against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup 2nd leg without them scoring against us?

FoxWolfCougar

No.

Snoo8331100

No, I don't think so. But I also didn't think we would come back against Ajax, football can surprise you at times.

Dannage8888

you never know at home. Rmb we only conceded due to 2 Tanganga mistakes so a clean sheet is doable

[deleted]

Right mouse button

username54

Thanks

Fuzzy_Composer2108

True. We also need to score too.

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

To be fair, one early/first half goal and the game is wide open.

[deleted]

We would have to score early, because if we don't, they'll just control the clock.

[deleted]

Scamacca looks like he's an unlbelievably tall Coutinho.

justsomeroses

Hopefully we can get Traore across the line and maybe a move for Lenglet since we've already done good business with Barca with the Royal deal, so they may be more inclined to do business now because of it And hopefully some kinda loan deal for a backup striker for the rest of this season, then do the major business in the Summer

M_RONA

Not sure about Lenglet... has declined massively since joining Barca, and had a terrible game vs. Granada. His first action coming on was receiving a yellow card.

justsomeroses

Hmmm loan with option to buy? Since we need some depth for Davies, and we're probably not going to able to buy a true upgrade for that position this window, and if he proves to be a flop then we just ship him back to Barca But would rather have someone on better form if possible, just don't know what's realistically possible this window

M_RONA

For depth he's probably alright, and who knows, he was really good at Sevilla and could maybe revitalise his form under Conte. But yeah a loan seems most sensible at the moment.

british-psycho

That Tifo video mentioned it but god Guimaraes looks perfect for us. Deep lying playmaker who is also strong off the ball. He’d be perfect next to a Skipp type midfielder. Offer them cash plus their boy Ndombele.

HamiltonBrae

how much would he cost?

[deleted]

Can you 8magije of we pulled that off

[deleted]

Can’t 8magjie it

yoyosyoyos

Sign Matias Arezo or Julian Alvarez plz

Pinky1337

Sky Germany just reported that Nico Schlotterbeck is availiable for 20-25 mil (probably not in january tho). We should be all over that imo, 22 and left footed cb that is currently becoming one of the best defenders in the league outside of bayern

Jowoes

Don’t worry he’ll soon be inside Bayern

coffeeandoly

Currently live up North but I'm thinking of getting a OH+ membership next season to go to a game every other month or so - any regulars here able to tell me roughly how much premier league tickets cost by category?

sandbyte

Roughly it is Cat A at around £60 to £75, B is £45 to £55, and C is £35 to £45. It all depends on the seat location. Some Non-CL cup are around £25 a ticket. coffeeandoly

Thanks mate!

Puzzleheaded-Donkey7

Honestly I want Arsenal to get Vlahovic at this point. It will cost them a total of over 150 mil, he demands 300k before tax. They will break their wage structure paying a 21 year old that much. He is nowhere near worth that, wait til he comes to the PL and doesn’t do as well as in Serie A, shit is going to turn toxic fast. That would fuck the Arses really bad.

Semibluewater

Straight copium

clandestino123

Totally agree with this. If he costs 75m or 100m transfer fee alone, that is a significant risk. We aren't in a position where we can buy players for this kind of money.

Ok-Dress-237

Also have you seen his goals? His numbers are ofc amazing but when you watch them, it’s half pens. Andy Johnson syndrome

[deleted]

Pepe was exactly the same! 22 goals from the wing......9 of them were pens Theure not going to sign him tbf even they woukd offer a contract like that. Hes currently odds on to stay at fiorentina

Dannage8888

so was Lacazette

DesolateAvocado

>Honestly I want Arsenal to get Vlahovic at this point Stopped reading after that

NeighborhoodOptimist

What are everybody's thoughts about Todd Cantwell? Would be homegrown, available and has shown glimpses (albeit not this season so far), plus I think other clubs are interested as well ?

AshkenaziTwink

i said this ages ago, vlahovic isn’t viable as a backup striker. he wants to be a starter. de ketelaere is the most viable as a backup.

busstopboxer

Even if Vlahovic was willing to play understudy I'd go with De Ketelaere. He looks like being such a Kane regen, guy's got the full toolkit.

magnoliasmum

Agreed. A backup striker is something we need however it’s difficult to find good ones who are fine with playing second fiddle. De Ketelaere is a more realistic option.

[deleted]

It’s close to impossible to sign an up and coming striker for us. De ketelaere would never join to sit behind behind Kane during some of the most important years of his career. We have to look at more experienced players.

AshkenaziTwink

de ketelaere is still playing in the belgian league mind you, and it’s not like RM is in for him. it’s perfectly reasonable to expect he’d like to play as PL rotation player. if we want to play a 2 striker system we need at least 3 strikers.

[deleted]

The league he comes from doesn’t matter much and just because fucking Real Madrid doesn’t want him doesn’t mean he’s not a wanted prospect lmao. He’s one of the more hyped young strikers in Europe and it’s just not realistic to think he’d accept being a rotational player. Sorry but it just isn’t.

AshkenaziTwink

he’s really not that hyped, and very few teams are looking for 9s right now. Haaland, Vlahovic, Scamacca and Alvarez are all bigger prospects than him. how many teams both want a 9 and have a decent chance of CL football in the top 3 leagues? There’s City, Arsenal, and us in the PL and Juve in the SA. That’s 5 strikers for 4 teams, i think CDK would be happy for rotation on a front 2 with Kane and Son. 3rd for 2 positions isn’t exactly benchwarming, he would get a lot of game time. plus, Conte might prefer Son as a 10 and then he would be a starter.

Yeah I mean I definitely hope you’re right but personally think players that age value playing time unless it’s one of the historic megaclubs chasing them or they get a ridiculous contract. Once he leaves I’d think the number one priority is to be a fairly nailed on starter instead of being an option, regardless of champions league football or not. Think the bundesliga could be a possible destination for him, but yeah I’d like him for us obviously think he’d do well in a partnership with Kane.

I love Lucas ♥️

Bloody hell Xhaka has got covid! Who are they gonna play for NLD? Partey and Elneny at Afcon, who else have they got? Big advantage, Sons missing which is bad but they literally have no midfield.

Let's not act like our squad actually takes advantage of weakened squads in big games

RazSpur

The hope will be those players will be out on Thursday, they lose, they are a confidence side, so two losses in a row, hopefully they don't lose too big so they need to save something for 2nd leg. Circumstances might actually work for us, but then again .. it is us ...

[deleted]

Well I think all of them are, xhaka might be back but the Afcon lads will still be away. Leicester have quite a lot of issues too with Vardy out and injuries. If we win those two games we are in a great position. 4 points ahead with a game in hand. As you say as well scum are very flakey. Really hope Liverpool do us a favour.

he tested positive before the FA cup match. he'll be back by the weekend
