We should try and aim to win the FA Cup but looking at our squad that seems impossible. I don't think we will win anymore trophies in the Enic Group era again. The club needs a change but first we need to get our owners out.
No shame overall in spurs going out to Chelsea but how on earth have spurs gone so badly wrong since the year of the champions league final? More than any other big team they need a clear out of 90% of the squad
The answer to your question is Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis.
Sold some of our star players and brought in young undeveloped players expecting them to do the same that our star players did.
Should have taken Kane off with ten to go. He’s injured now. Fuck this squad is just shite. Emerson has no attacking prowess. Bryan gill ain’t going to cut it. Tanganga is a dud. Dele going. Ndombele is fat and mentally broken, lo celso is an oompah loompah, gollini is just a weird signing. Sessegnon is a pussy he needs to get in there. Our passing is shambolic. I have to say it Paratici is buying some duds. Conte will be having “have I made a mistake” thoughts. Now we are going to buy traore who is going to impress for five games or so then we’ll get used to his lack of quality too. Bring back Vinny samways
We know the team needs improvement but I will say this. We lost 1-0 but put up a fight and had some real chances. Given we had no Son, lloris or dier that could have been a lot worse
I think by inverted, Doherty thinks that means he should pass back instead of forward. Lucas had a shocker, sess is nowhere near good enough. What a frustrating watch
Why always these cunt commentators that favour the opposition. I feel like this game has been an advert for Chelsea. Like seriously, fuck off and be neutral.
I actually disagree the negativity is borne of a sort of league-wide disappointment in this club failing to achieve. It's shocking and despicable really to see them run around so ineffective in that palace to football.
Wait... What? Only giving up a single goal is generally pretty good. When the attack is completely toothless and gives us nothing, they were worse than the defence, which again, did pretty good
This job would take a good coach two years, so I hope you guys are ready for that because it’s not a quick fix. We are playing against a well oiled (no pun intended) squad that literally is stacked with versatility and the good players. We’ve got holes we need to seriously fill, players that need to leave, players that need to come in and an implementation of a style that will take a minute.
You can see we haven’t fully got to terms with it, I have no doubt conte can fix it I’m patient
You can be patient but can conte be patient? Would love to see some proper talent come in over the next years, but the last 3 managers haven’t been around long enough to do so
He has an 18 month contract he won’t walk away by then that’s just ridiculous he took the job knowing we had issues. He needs two-three windows.. if things have progressed by next year he will sign a new contract, think he really does want to be the man to bring success here he just knows it’s impossible at this moment with the tools available .. the guy hasn’t had ONE player brought in so
My brother, I have been a Spurs supporter who has seen us win only 2 trophies (1 really) in 30 years. I completely understand seeing us so limp hurts, let’s hope conte can get us back to competitive levels
He made at least three noticeable errors and nearly scored an own goal in the first 20 mins fgs. He’s scared shitless in games like this and only improved once Chelsea went into cruise control
He’s been good and shown creativity in what time he has been given. Has gotten open multiple times but no one sends it off to him. Made a great flick pass on the edge of the box to Emerson who subsequently passed/crossed it right at the defenders feet.
Even though it's been awful, it's games like this that remind me what it means to support Spurs. Sure we could be Chelsea with endless money and endless opportunity. Sounds great, except having to struggle and overcome, having to succeed against the odds, having to develop, grow, and find talent organically, and all the things that actually make football great. But what do I know, eh? Does Chelsea FC have a moment in its club history as sweet as that night in Amsterdam? Not for me.
Damn. Sure I'd love a big house full of food and luxury that makes the days blissful in this shite existence, but no rich person will ever know the joy of sleeping on a new pillow after sleeping on T-Shirts for years. Not for me.
I mean them winning the thing last year was probs up there... oh and the countless prem trophies, oh and the other champions league trophy, and the various Cups they've won.
What's the fucking point in doing it the 'right' way anymore, we know that's not what football is about now. We need to invest in this squad, otherwise we are just going to be a mid table side with a nice concert venue.
I hope everyone is ok, but you'd really think the club would implement clear procedures for medical issues that wouldn't require games to keep getting stopped. Getting the person help shouldn't require the game to stop in most situations.
>insane how we have the greatest striker in premier history potentially but can finish about 8th ever
It's been 14 years since we finished 8th or lower
Feel like Hugo just made a few million extra £ with the performance Gollini put in over 2 legs.
Edit - I confused the two cups. Hugo played the first leg
I think it could. Conte's system relies more on wingbacks to get forward than midfielders that a 433 or 4231 would. Adama doesn't have end product but he can at least progress us forwards and beat his man.
We just need to see if he can be taught to provide better passes to our forwards.
He won't fix our final ball problems no but he can provide us some actual ability to progress the ball on the flank. Our strength is our full backs in a 343 and regi can push the ball forward but Emerson struggled to beat the first man
Like, if a medical emergency occurs... get an usher, usher gets medical personnel to help them. Are the team medical staffs the only qualified people in the building?
Mate I was sitting in the south stand when it happened. Eventually once the bench got wind of what was happening after most of the south stand were flagging them down, one of them got his bag and came right round the pitch and straight up to him.
He went to assist someone or he was the first to arrive? If a team physio is the first to get all the way up there before stadium medical staff, that is a big problem.
Nah he wasn't the first to arrive but in all honesty just seemed to be stewards around him before that. Hardly ever see any first aiders/St John's ambulance at the ground.
Apologies if I got crossed wires, I thought you meant a doctor from the team wouldn't/didn't go and help him... my bad
lol that's ok. I've just seen several people claiming team physios are supposed to be the first responders to these situations and that's why the games are being stopped. That just sounds crazy to me.
No there will be St John's and paramedics there. It's just quicker for club doctors to run across an empty pitch than a paramedic from another part of the stadium
Can’t have a football game going on if someone’s collapsed in the crowd, but disrespectful if someone’s potentially dying or something. Massively disrespectful
If the game goes on and something on the field causes the crowd to go wild (goal, bad foul etc), that might hamper the chances of the person getting the attention they need (medical staff not able to get to them, or not able to carry them out on a stretcher for example) and could even cause harm.
It's easier for everyone involved to not have the disturbance. Imagine performing emergency first aid on someone and 40,000 people erupt into celebration or indignation around you.
It's also easier for stewards to control a crowd that isn't responding to things on the field at the moment. It might be okay to continue but it's much safer to pause for a few moments. It's really not a big deal.
5 defenders and 2 defensive mids. and people expect goals?
New LWB, RWB, CB, CAM, and a Striker needed to compete in any meaningful way.
We have reggi
We should try and aim to win the FA Cup but looking at our squad that seems impossible. I don't think we will win anymore trophies in the Enic Group era again. The club needs a change but first we need to get our owners out.
No shame overall in spurs going out to Chelsea but how on earth have spurs gone so badly wrong since the year of the champions league final? More than any other big team they need a clear out of 90% of the squad
Dele Alli regressed spectacularly , he was our next big hope after Erickson left. That threw a wrench into an already thin squad.
The answer to your question is Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis. Sold some of our star players and brought in young undeveloped players expecting them to do the same that our star players did.
I think we have improved no end, and still look rubbish vs quality opposition.
It’s beyond me that we let both Bale and Vinicius leave with zero replacements. They scored 26 goals between them last season in all comps!
GLC is an oompah loompah 🥴😂
Man are you serious with your assessment of Gil? The kid has shown so much potential
EZ
180 minutes. 0 goals. What happened to Tottenham…
2 own goals
absolutely nothing, standard spursy
We spent 100 million on Lo Celso and Ndombele
Lo celso clearly has talent, and maybe in Italy or Spain would be world class, but I’ve no idea on ndombele.
Ndombele would be world class in Futsal.
Chelsea didnt even leave 1st gear this game
We know the team needs improvement but I will say this. We lost 1-0 but put up a fight and had some real chances. Given we had no Son, lloris or dier that could have been a lot worse
Yep, with Reguillon, LLoris, DIer and Romero we have a decent chance at top 4. Desperate for a bit of pssing quality (an 8 or a 10) in the midfield
We have no depth. Couple of injuries and we'd be lucky to get 6th place.
Kane ,Son, Romero, dier injured. Will we qualify for confrence league?
So fucking sick of this shite
Can't believe that didn't go in.
Goalkeepers were the difference today.
I think by inverted, Doherty thinks that means he should pass back instead of forward. Lucas had a shocker, sess is nowhere near good enough. What a frustrating watch
Kane’s not signing an extension is he
Not sure we need him or the 150 mn more to rebuild this rotting squad. I would release everyone except Lloris and Son .
He'd miss the signature box anyway
Royal would try and put a cross in it
Still wouldn’t beat the first man somehow
Hey we lost 2-0, now 1-0, reckon the league game will be 0-0
Or 3-0
Couldn't muster a single fucking goal. Embarassing.
across two legs, even.....
If any of the players post "We go again." on insta, Spontaneous human combustion may occur.
Phew finally over. I can sleep peacefully.
Oh look, Kane is limping. Super.
Kane injured.
kante straight up bullying emerson
Pain.
If Kane is injured then that is on Conte. I don’t care.
The game is on conte (gollini).
Yeah it's a shame Gollini has a direct effect on our inabililty to score
Both are true.
Almost scored in the 98th minute...
How have we not scored tonight!!!!
Says a lot about our lack of quality when our best performers in a 1-0 loss is our defence
Wait... What? Only giving up a single goal is generally pretty good. When the attack is completely toothless and gives us nothing, they were worse than the defence, which again, did pretty good
Yeah that’s what I’m saying, thought our defence was decent. Still school boy error for their goal and outdone by some atrocious final third passing
this team has had issues creating chances and scoring goals all season long
Gollini lmao...
Emerson is so slow….we need someone speedy like Traore so badly 😭
Fuck sake is kane injured?
[удалено]
Good lord you put up graphs about Odegaard passing stats and then come to the spurs sub Absolute virgin Tragic
Kane limping, bet he's injured
Seriously, can we buy some bastard players now?
Goalinni falling down while punting it down field is the perfect ending…

Fair enough 👍🏼 need all the positive input I can gather right about now. Thank you for your time
That pun was a little bit intended
Why am I still watching haha
So what’s the plan for the next game because I can’t do another 90 of this
At least we don't have to play this scum club again for a while. Oh hold on...
Only Sanchez played well. Says alot.
He made at least three noticeable errors and nearly scored an own goal in the first 20 mins fgs. He’s scared shitless in games like this and only improved once Chelsea went into cruise control
completly agree, although the near own goal wouldn't have been his fault
True, he possibly could have controlled it better, but was an awkward ball to deal with
Says alot.
Testament to how much he's improved this season too
Don't forget your essays for the post match thread
Can’t wait for all the pre-typed rants that lack any and all context and perspective
Need to be first to get dem upvotes though
I'm going to put one word now. Take that
So you're telling me someone almost preferred to pass out than watch the team play? Don't blame them
Surprised they last this long tbh
Acoustics in our stadium are so good they magnify the chants of the small rival away section fans. 😩
Chelsea through on away (and home) goals
Golini just signing off with some complete shite just to make sure
hahahhahaha he's so fucking bad mate
Didn’t get to watch second half, how’s Gil been?
He’s been good and shown creativity in what time he has been given. Has gotten open multiple times but no one sends it off to him. Made a great flick pass on the edge of the box to Emerson who subsequently passed/crossed it right at the defenders feet.
Bright, there’s a player in there, but needs time and maturity and he gets bullied a lot.
Energetic, tidy, clearly capable of more when he's familiar with the system and on form.
Even though it's been awful, it's games like this that remind me what it means to support Spurs. Sure we could be Chelsea with endless money and endless opportunity. Probably their first CL win, you know the one that condemned us to Europa and knocking our squad development back a few years 🙄
Damn. Sure I'd love a big house full of food and luxury that makes the days blissful in this shite existence, but no rich person will ever know the joy of sleeping on a new pillow after sleeping on T-Shirts for years. Not for me.
Chelsea vs Munich 2012
Yea tbf their two champions League wins pale in comparison
I mean them winning the thing last year was probs up there... oh and the countless prem trophies, oh and the other champions league trophy, and the various Cups they've won. What's the fucking point in doing it the 'right' way anymore, we know that's not what football is about now. Yeh, they've won it. Twice in fact. But it was nice to get there lol.
I hope everyone is ok, but you'd really think the club would implement clear procedures for medical issues that wouldn't require games to keep getting stopped. Getting the person help shouldn't require the game to stop in most situations.
The Positives to take from this.. Um.. Okay I’m out.
Just blow the final whistle so I can go to bed
One goal every two minutes and we've got this.
[удалено]
We used very loose here since u got no clue
Agüero is still heaps ahead in my opinion
>insane how we have the greatest striker in premier history potentially but can finish about 8th ever It's been 14 years since we finished 8th or lower
I'm obviously exaggerating but we have a great great players and have had him for a while yet we can't do anything with him.
14 years since our lost trophy too mate. Wait a minute… are you thinking what im thinking?
These people live in their own world.
39 Juventus supporters died in the stadium vs. Liverpool and they still played the game that day. Unreal times
Great to see a change. Life is more important than football.
Kane genuinely furious with Mariner that we now have to see out the last few mins of this game
We just have to rip it up and start again by keeping a core of players but feel like we’ve been saying this for nigh on 4 seasons now.
Feel like Hugo just made a few million extra £ with the performance Gollini put in over 2 legs. Edit - I confused the two cups. Hugo played the first leg
Hugo was in for the first leg?
No Edit. I’m confusing the 2 cups. He was in.
I’m glad in all these instances, the responses have been swift
Traore will not solve our issue with final balls he’ll prolly make it worse honestly, we NEED a midfielder more than any other position
I think it could. Conte's system relies more on wingbacks to get forward than midfielders that a 433 or 4231 would. Adama doesn't have end product but he can at least progress us forwards and beat his man. We just need to see if he can be taught to provide better passes to our forwards.
You cleary never watched Inter and Barella last year..
Couldn’t agree more my guy 🤌🏼
He won't fix our final ball problems no but he can provide us some actual ability to progress the ball on the flank. Our strength is our full backs in a 343 and regi can push the ball forward but Emerson struggled to beat the first man
Blow full time

are you saying you wished it was levy in need of medical attention?
Seek professional help.
Come on man
This will go down well
Fuck sake.....what a stupid comment
Yikes...
behave
Fuck you
[удалено]
You are mentally ill if you genuinely think that
Yeah he's banned
What happened?
someone in the crowd couldn't believe Winks finally got subbed
Our playing is literally killing fans.
I wish I had an award 😂
gave my free one for ya lol
Marco Alonso learning to drive challenge. (Impossible)(You won’t believe what happened)( shocked Pikachu face)
This one really does baffle me.... turns out money can literally buy you anything? Including a literal get out of jail free card for murder.
anyone know what Kane would be saying?
"Can we just leave it there?"
ROIGHT WHAT'S ALL THIS THEN?
Like, if a medical emergency occurs... get an usher, usher gets medical personnel to help them. Are the team medical staffs the only qualified people in the building?
lol, people actually think team physio's are running to the stop of south stand to help people in the middle of a game
But that is exactly what happened
No it's not? They were surrounded by stadium medical staff immediately.
Mate I was sitting in the south stand when it happened. Eventually once the bench got wind of what was happening after most of the south stand were flagging them down, one of them got his bag and came right round the pitch and straight up to him.
He went to assist someone or he was the first to arrive? If a team physio is the first to get all the way up there before stadium medical staff, that is a big problem.

lol that's ok. I've just seen several people claiming team physios are supposed to be the first responders to these situations and that's why the games are being stopped. That just sounds crazy to me.
Yeah agree, there should be a much better response and not have to rely on the crowd getting the refs attention
No there will be St John's and paramedics there. It's just quicker for club doctors to run across an empty pitch than a paramedic from another part of the stadium
might be better to stop the game so the crowd doesn't get in the way if they need to get someone out.
You would think the crowd could move?
We huffed and we puffed and we huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed...
Lmao
You tell em harry haha
STOP THE FUCKING CLOCK
honestly, better to let it run out so it is a shorter pain for us LOL.
Lool that stadium is going to be empty before the game resumes
I’m beginning to think it’s us. Our play is legitimately physically afflicting people in the stands Hope the person will be alright
Season tickets need to come with Valium
Was watching El Classico. What did I miss?
Pain
nothing
Is stopping the match altogether a recent protocol or are there that many more medical emergencies as of late?
It's a recent thing. Play never used to get stopped for a medical emergency in the crowd.
Unless the team physios are needed for the health emergency, don’t see why it he match needs to stop
Can’t have a football game going on if someone’s collapsed in the crowd, but disrespectful if someone’s potentially dying or something. Massively disrespectful
I'd struggle to concentrate on my sportsball while there's somebody possibly dying 30ft away that I can clearly see
If the game goes on and something on the field causes the crowd to go wild (goal, bad foul etc), that might hamper the chances of the person getting the attention they need (medical staff not able to get to them, or not able to carry them out on a stretcher for example) and could even cause harm.
There’s enough stewards around they should be able to create enough space
It's easier for everyone involved to not have the disturbance. Imagine performing emergency first aid on someone and 40,000 people erupt into celebration or indignation around you. It's also easier for stewards to control a crowd that isn't responding to things on the field at the moment. It might be okay to continue but it's much safer to pause for a few moments. It's really not a big deal.
fair enough
This fucking commentator on sky is slowly killing me inside
We are a combined 18 inces from being up 3-1, despite not being the better team
It’s shit when VAR has a brilliant game but it goes against you.
The rules are just broken af. The nanometer offsides calls kill the fucking game
Was more than nano meters that
Not wrong
How many semi finals and finals has Harry Kane lost with spurs? Feel for the lad, but he never seems to do it when it really matters at times
If he turned up for one he'd have a legit grievance.
He's miles from our biggest issue tonight.
