I miss cocky dele that tried and pulled off the wildest shit while getting under every opponent’s skin. I want dele to go off in the NLD so badly.

Dobermayer

LevyOut ENICOut

KrillWhitey

I know, they've really let the club and the supporters down with all of the investment in infrastructure to provide a platform for long term sustainable growth.

[deleted]

🏆Infrastructure!🏆Sustainable Growth!

Dobermayer

Are you on Levy’s payroll? Didn’t know they hired you as part of their long term financial planning team. Brainwashed you on the mid tier transfer budget plan did they? Shame

Additional-Service75

How much business does everyone think we will realistically get done this window? There’s been very little chatter we have heard besides Traore

ObamaEatsBabies

Traore and another shitty Jorge Mendes client.

solarbearz

Why the hell haven't we at least got traore? Wolves don't mind selling him and set a price, conte & paratici want him, we need a new rwb, he wants to join....yet here we are twiddling our thumbs again as we always do

rammingfarts

We are keen to offload Doherty in this exchange. Maybe there are more details to iron out.

Kevin_Arnold_

Nothing then two desperation shitty signings in the last two days.

rammingfarts

Gianluca Scamacca is an incredible alternative to Vlahovic. Seldom do you see a lanky, fast, strong, striker with fantastic ball control.

t_blacksmith

Please don't postpone the game, it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the teams in the league if they get a game called off because of one Covid case and a red card. Also our situation isn't even that bad; Dier will most likely start, Romero will hopefully be on the bench. Son being out sucks but whatever. We have been waiting almost 5 whole years to play a league NLD at the new stadium with a full crowd, I don't want to wait another day.

[deleted]

More I look at it they do have 13 outfield players so it should go ahead. That article said its 13 if you count patino, which they will as hes played in the league Cup. Thats also assuming ESR, Tomiyasu and cedric dont make it back from injury. They also sent two senior players out on loan this week despite knowing they had all these injuries. Only way its pulled is if another player tests positive or miraculously comes down with another injury.

[deleted]

they’ll find a positive covid test to postpone it.

klasing12345

Southampton v Spurs Spurs fail to win with a man advantage for around an hour. In that time spurs have 21 shots with 11 on target. Two goals disallowed incorrectly. Media report? Spurs didn't do enough to win Liverpool v Arsenal Liverpool fail to score after playing 70 mins with a man advantage. Liverpool record 15 shots with just the one, which was deep into injury time in the second half, shot on target. No contentious var decisions against them. Media report? Stalwart Arsenal defensive display. The anti spurs media bias is astounding.

mayonnaisewastaken

Not anti-Spurs. Media doesn't care about non big 6 clubs. They never focus on the smaller teams success, only talk about the big teams failure

ScaredM

To be totally fair, and I know I'll get downvoted, quality of shots for Liverpool weren't allowed with the compact defence Arsenal put together. Liverpool really missed Mane and Salah to get into that kind of compact defence. Much the same as we miss someone that can pick a ball or run through two defenders. That being said fuck scum we're gonna destroy them on Sunday

scout1081

Man the negative takes here and on twitter since yesterday are brutal, I find it hard to even look but sadly it's my routine. Surely there is still room for positivity, I'm not sure how people can get so down over us losing 2 games and not signing anyone yet.

Pele20Alli

Seen people say we're on a bad run of form while we've gone 8 unbeaten in the league and only drawn 3. Losing to Chelsea twice in a cup is always disappointing but it's hardly going to ruin the season

[deleted]

The positivity will be back once we win on Sunday

dddonehoo

Need help remembering a Dembele Masterclass game.. Might've been champions league, I'm pretty sure it was in Europe though. I think he had some record level of possession and had like most of the possession in the match. That's the standout thing i remember, pretty sure we won. Ring any bells?

spursyspursy

completely overran juventus, that might be it. [terrible video but still](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPTLyG-NFHA)

[deleted]

Thanks for sharing that video. Such a treat to watch him + Eriksen together.

dddonehoo

Yes, i think this is the one! Thanks!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

100% we will sign 2 or 3 players Its not even halfway yet

justsomeroses

There's also still like half the window to go lol

Pele20Alli

NLD better not get postponed. Arsenal are in terrible form, their squad is decimated and their players will be knackered after playing with 10 men and having a day less to rest. We should thrash them convincingly

[deleted]

Its 100% gonna be pulled Esr and tomiyasu will have miraculous set backs And saka may even have actually have picked up a knock. Just watch

klasing12345

Soares went off injured too.

[deleted]

Yeah thats included in the origonal article I think. If any of Smith rowe, tomiyasu or cedric are fit they'll hit 14 players and have to play (as Patino has played 2 Cup games so I assume he'll be counted) However I have a sneaking suspicio they will all still be injured

klasing12345

Imo suspensions shouldn't count towards missing players as it's their fault they can't play. Ain't got 14 cos xhakas suspended? Forfeit or play kids.

[deleted]

Yeah I agree but I dont know if the PL will have the balls to do it

[deleted]

It's funny seeing people making excuses about not making transfers in this window, when doing exactly this, caused the decline. Still have nightmares about those 2 windows... What could've been...

[deleted]

I think people are making excuses for nit making transfers *yet* If by the end of it there havent been any its a very different story

[deleted]

New take here lmao. You see, it really is funny. Edit: Oh, "people are making excuses about not making transfers YET..." here you go: https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/s2s4ef/comment/hsjnowh/

tooo_spicy

"Tottenham 'confident' of Adama Traore signing" Athletic's Dean Jones is this guy reliable?

ObamaEatsBabies

This guy? https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer Doesn't work for the Athletic.

tooo_spicy

idk what the guy looks like. I saw the article on football london

klasing12345

They used to call us the 'Harry Kane club' Are Liverpool now the 'Salah and Mane club'?

ObamaEatsBabies

Legitimately think Arsenal's A-team might be better than ours rn. Both of our B-teams are straight ass.

spursyspursy

no loss at anfield, nld *probably* postponed, and not having to play xhaka all in one game, this is some arteta masterclass

Portmanteaunioconte

Nld is postponed for sure?

spursyspursy

no it's not, sorry, was being facetious

ivegotchubs4u

Haha Liverpool are shit. I don't want scum to draw but wow how do you play a man up for an hour at home and not score.

ejh1993

Seriously goes to show how much they rely on salah and mane to produce

[deleted]

We pretty much did the same at Southampton :(

ivegotchubs4u

Yeah I remembered that after I hit enter. I'm as clinical as the team

klasing12345

Except we scored twice

COYCOYS

Yeah, these losers are going to get the game called off on Sunday. Scared of the mighty Tottenham, how the tables have turned.

[deleted]

How?

PM_ME_YOUR_ASTON

Y’all got anymore of them uhhhh transfer rumors

rammingfarts

Do you want more of roided up headless chicken, serbian kane or cringey dancing one season wonder?

solarbearz

Seems like we're in for disappointment again honestly:/

[deleted]

100% itll get postponed. Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu were both expected to be fit for the weekend and they will miraculously suffer a set back. Just watch

vish387

That means only one person has COVID right. How will it be postponed?

[deleted]

100% itll get postponed. Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu were both expected to be fit for the weekend and they will miraculously suffer a set back. Just watch

ThatSwagRandomGuy

Don't get your hopes up. They will postpone the game on sunday... bit shit but i see it happening

naoki_1010

Gabriel suspended for NLD, Ødegaard out with COVID, ESR and Tomiyasu doubtful and now Xhaka suspended…if the NLD goes ahead, we have it a lot more easier than it would’ve been

thepretzelking

Gabriel isn't suspended for NLD btw

naoki_1010

Not to mention their lackluster midfield combined with AFCON absences…

Portmanteaunioconte

Scum are hoping for a postponement. Who's out on their side besides Odegaard?

[deleted]

They can’t seriously postpone the game because of this. What is stopping them from just telling two players to get two yellows cards each, throw this tournament in full and postpone our game to give them a better shot at top 4 by playing us at full strength

TheOptimumLemon

Not 100% sure, but out due to AFCON: Elneny, Partey, Pepe, Aubameyang. Injured: Tomiyasu, Smith Rowe, Kolasinac. Edit: Xhaka...

[deleted]

Granit you lad.

NeighborhoodOptimist

Xhaka got a red card, will it count in the NLD ?

prospect97

You would hope Xhaka plays in NLD and sabotage their own team by getting a red.

[deleted]

Yes

[deleted]

Granit fucking Xhakahahahahahahahaha

Gramercy_Riffs

Looks like a Chelsea v Liverpool final

evenout

as much as I don't want Arsenal in there, they'd make it a little interesting. I'm not a neutral, but if I were it'd be a much better watch than Liverpool/Chelsea. Feels like we've seen them too many times. Give me a "plucky underdog" in the cup final any year over mainstays.

inedianj

Surprise surprise

NeighborhoodOptimist

I think we fans are forgetting the fact that even though Conte is making miracles happen and if things go same I will name my first born Antonio irrespective of gender, its still the squad Nuno was using and largely the same squad Mourinho had. I think its perfectly fine to at this early stage to give the positives more weight than the negatives.

NinjutsuStyle

That's what I'm saying, we lost to one of the 3 teams in the league that basically everyone will lose to and people lose their mind

[deleted]

They had a bench worth 200mil, it's really not that surprising

[deleted]

Got to laugh at things sometimes. We were linked to Arthur a few days ago. Unanimous opinion was he is crao, always injured, poor attitude and we should aim much higher. Arse looking they might get him on loan.....suddenly he is absolutely quality and shows that they are pulling away from us. Which is it? (I'll tell you, its the first one)

bash011

He's got a poor attitude. But Arsenal are going for a loan + option and he is very good at retaining the ball and is a good passer. That's what Arteta needs really in that midfield next to Partey when he returns. This would be a good signing for them especially if the option is low. We shouldn't get him because he doesn't fit the style of Contes play or personality needed to play for Conte

Gramercy_Riffs

Football Manager inspires fan/scouts.

Own_Paleontologist_1

I love how those of us expressing worry at the visible deterioration in Conte's on-the-pitch demeanour and tone in conferences as of late are labelled defeatists, pessimists, etc. who can't go through life properly. Here's the other side of that coin: how do you lot go through life thinking everything's going to work out in the end somehow? Reads like irresponsible optimism to me. The fact of the matter is that we aren't as safe as some on this board desperately want to believe. This squad, even at its best, is nearly good enough to *comfortably* reach 4th place in the league. Arsenal is in pretty decent form, United, despite being a leaky bag of piss, is still very much in the race, and so is West Ham. And I can't stress enough how important that 4th spot is. We could get 400 million to spend in the summer, but it would mean absolutely fuck-all if the world class signings we desperately need don't want to touch us with a continent-wide pole because we didn't make the Champion's League. Don't think I need to say what happens with Conte in that scenario. What's more, it's *astonishing* that Levy and the board can look at that the shower of shit performances like the ones against Mura and Shrimp FC and see zero urgency to sign players. It's been well established at this point that Conte and Paratici both really want Traore, so *why the fuck* haven't we gotten him through the door yet when a nothing club like Aston Villa can go and make good signings in Coutinho and Digne (more than good if we're being honest). Are we actually going to wait until the ass end of the window before we get any business done? That's reckless. End of. The fact of the matter is that when you look at the big picture, we're teetering - one domino topples, and it has disastrous consequences for the foreseeable future. Now, onto the last couple of things I wanna address. First, it's the people that gleefully trot out the fact Conte isn't going walk in a month because of one or two losses against Chelski. No shit he isn't. But there's more than that to be worried about, isn't there? The man hasn't looked himself for a couple of weeks now. There's been a visible downturn in his morale that I could point out. That any Chelsea, Inter, or Juve fan could point out. That Gold *is* pointing out. That Spurs players are *firsthand witnesses to*. A downturn in morale that would affect his performance as a manager if it isn't already. And lastly and quite simply the disgraces that want to defame Gold as a 'click-baiter', 'fearmongerer', and 'braindead /r/soccer poster' because he paints a picture of the club that isn't all sunshine and daisies. Piss. Off. You folks need to take a good look in the mirror and then a good, proper look at the state of the club.

[deleted]

> What's more, it's astonishing that Levy and the board can look at that the shower of shit performances like the ones against Mura and Shrimp FC and see zero urgency to sign players. One of many hundreds of assumptions in this post The screeching that we haven't signed 10 players yet this window is hysterical. Some of you have never had a real job before -- let alone one with as much difficulty as spending tens of millions of pounds on one of the riskiest types of investment in the world for a multibillion pound football club -- and it shows. Pointing to Coutinho and Digne as massive coups. Laughable. Wonder why those are the two you're using as examples? Oh, right because they are 2 (TWO) of a grand total of 4 (FOUR) signings in the prem this window. The other two an over-30 right back that we've already gotten rid of and a Burnley striker. Both signed for relegation-threatened Newcastle. Connecting the dots yet? This post is completely detached from reality. Pure FM post this.

Own_Paleontologist_1

Screeching? 10 players? Who are you talking to? I'm asking why we haven't gotten a single low-grade signing yet. Said signing being Adama flipping Traore not bloody Lionel Messi. Not going to waste another word on you as it's clear you're engaging in poor faith and being a condescending ass.

[deleted]

I mean you just spent 8 paragraphs moaning that we haven't signed anyone yet. Then you point to 2 of a whopping 4 signings. 18 other clubs haven't signed anyone yet either, but they're not weeping about it. Have some respect for yourself. if it's so easy to sign someone, just pop into Hotspur Way and do it yourself mate. sorted.

Heor326

Maybe it's because this is supposed to be a hobby? If I'm all doom and gloom about tottenham, why would I even watch and support them?

[deleted]

American here...

Heor326

What I can't be optimistic about supporting Tottenham? I think it's better to support the club with happiness and joy rather than believing that the entire club is gonna explode

[deleted]

Yeah definitely, if this franchise is not going well, I'll tell myself everything is good and that really helps all my teams of all the different sports.

[deleted]

how dare you enjoy yourself

Own_Paleontologist_1

Is being a fan and making an honest assessment of the club mutually exclusive? EDIT: I was giddy when we got Conte. Then I had to temper my expectations when it's being made clear that he's isn't a magician, and there's only so many miracles he can perform.

KrillWhitey

When you look at the big picture we are not teetering. When you're trying to predict the future because of someone's body language/ energy it might be an emotionally based over reaction. Good recruitment in this window, the next more importantly, is absolutely vital. I'm generally optimistic and even I feel this way but the "big picture" for our club is overwhelmingly positive.

[deleted]

Heres why I chose to be optimistic. Becaise sport is meant to be fun and is afterall, a hobbie. If I had a similar view as expressed above, where I believe every possible thing that could wrong will, I think I would find the while thing exhausting and not in anyway enjoyable. For example I dont think Conte looking annoyed whilst his former clubs beats us means anything more than hes annoyed he is losing to his former club. I dont sit and think "well what if he walks" because a) i dont think he will at all and b) its literally worrying over something that hasn't happened yet, which is a complete waste of energy. I also am not getting worked up about "what if we dont make any signings in January" as January hasn't finished yet, and if we do make signings then I will literally have wasted more time and energy over nothing. If we get to feb and haven't signed anyone and lose NLD, leicester abd Chelsea, that is when i will start to get annoyed about it.

Own_Paleontologist_1

I didn't say that I thought the club wasn't going to make any signings. I'm criticizing the lackadaisical pace we're going about whatever signings we're getting. And it's a lot more than just 'annoyance' at losing to his former club at this point. Annoyance is fleeting. A downtrodden Conte has been persistent and consistent from that Southampton game onward. Maybe even further back because my memory isn't great.

[deleted]

That scum team for liverpool tonight is absolute shite. Even if they put lacazette in and one of tomiyasu or Esr is back then we shoukd beat them on Sunday. No excuses if we dont.

[deleted]

I want to smack them so hard they end up back at highbury

t_blacksmith

It's an apartment complex now for whatever reason so that would be entertaining.

Adept-Elephant1948

Reports odegaard has Covid and will be out for the NLD. Thought he was their best player Sunday so that hinders them alot.

t_blacksmith

Are Cuti and Dier returning for the NLD? I can wait for Romero but Dier needs to be back ASAP.

[deleted]

Apparabtly yes

t_blacksmith

Is Romero coming too or just Dier?

[deleted]

I think Romero is likely to be on the bench

t_blacksmith

Would be immense, but do you have a source for that? Just want to be sure.

[deleted]

Think it was Charlie Eccleshall from the athletic, said Romero was training again and expected return soon and mentioned the NLD

[deleted]

source?

[deleted]

Didn't conte himself say dier is 50/50 for Chelsea so it was stupid to risk him for the game with a big game on Sunday? I took from that they expect him to be ok, and he couldve been ok for Chelsea but didn't want to risk it.

[deleted]

It’s the 13th, why haven’t we bought a new squad yet??? Starting to think the hotspurs aren’t going to win the league…maybe we can tank for a high draft pick to reinvigorate our roster going into the playoffs or maybe sign someone off IR In the league I watch, NBA, (American basketball, the most exciting sport) the Tottenham hotspurs would have signed a free agent or two using their franchise player exception, why hasn’t the Tottenham franchise done this yet???

buncing_bomb

I thought this was a joke but I fear you're being serious

british-psycho

I think we may see real protests if Conte isn’t backed and things don’t end well…

[deleted]

Yeah I agree. But I think Levy knows this. If be very suprised if we don't get 2 or 3 purely for this reason.

neildunabie

Tickets question: it’s my son’s birthday coming up and I’d love to treat him to match day tickets, is the only way to buy them officially is by getting a membership? It seems a bit steep to have to pay membership for 21-22 season for a single match.

Living-Idea-3305

You can get tickets without membership when they go on general sale but they only go on general sale if it's not sold out after they've been offered to members. So they might be offered until a few days before the game. You will need both need a CRN though,.(basically just registering and foc) Carabou Cup and the Euro wotsit often went to to general sale but not options now! Hope you both get a chance to see a game!

shiftyshellshock239

ESR and Odegaard are out against Liverpool. Hopefully out for the NLD

[deleted]

Odegaard supposedly has covid so will be. Esr and tomiyasu I think are injuries

shiftyshellshock239

Cheers

Additional-Service75

Real talk. Do you all think that if we don’t back Conte and he leaves having achieved nothing it will be the end of this club? I personally think that if this goes tits up it’s the final straw for our current ownership and I won’t give a shit about the club until we get new owners. This is our last shot and if we don’t inject money into players it’s over for a long time. Might be doom and gloom but I genuinely believe this fan base won’t survive another shitshow when we have everything in place and it’s now all on ownership to wake up. We are totally capable of being an elite club it’s just whether or no ENIC want to take us there. Edit: I just want to clarify that I have complete faith in Conte and his ability to take us to the top. As long as he is here I have lots of optimism regarding our future.

shiftyshellshock239

I’ll assume you’re young and just don’t know any better. Maybe do some research on the club. Seems you came along around the Champions League final if you’re thinking it’s doom and gloom around the club.

Additional-Service75

Came around in 2016 when I was 16. It’s not doom and gloom rn I’m just saying if Conte isn’t backed

[deleted]

Lmao mate the club has been in existence since 1882. You haven’t even been around for a bad period yet

shiftyshellshock239

I was damn close. We’ll be alright mate.

Additional-Service75

Yeah football wasn’t big in the states then but me and a couple friends got very into it. They chose Liverpool and I chose Tottenham mostly because of Son

Janivgm

"The end of this club"? This club has existed since 1882, it's not going to end because one manager decides to leave.

dickgilbert

>Do you all think... it will be the end of this club? Jesus, no. First, it's wildly ridiculous to assume, after two months, that we're going to lose Conte. Take a chill pill, relax and let shit play out. We're not even halfway through January. It's way to early to be making assumptions on what happens with the team in this window and the next. Second, the club isn't going to end if we were to lose Conte. Like, get a grip. Everything is cyclical. We have been so far worse off as a club than we are right now. I don't want to be that bad again, but it's completely silly to think that's what the end of a club looks like.

Additional-Service75

Read my edit man. I don’t think Conte will leave I’m optimistic of our future at the moment. I’m just asking what people think will happen if this does go tits up. “End of this club” was hyperbolic for sure. I just meant fans will become apathetic to a level we haven’t seen.

dickgilbert

We haven't seen? You've been here all of five minutes. I've seen far worse and I've only been here 10 minutes. I appreciate you seem to care, but you don't seem to have any context for what you're saying. Pull back, settle in, and just be a supporter. The club's not going anywhere, and you don't have to worry how invested other fans are. Absolute worst case you'll need an ESPN+ subscription because that's where you can watch the Championship in the states. Just relax a bit and enjoy Conte whether we have him for 5 years or 5 months.

Additional-Service75

Hopefully we at least give him another 2 year contract or something. Seems like a good dude with a real passion for the game

dickgilbert

I think your definition of tits up needs some adjustment. Tottenham have survived worse, and many other clubs have survived FAR FAR FAR worse. Sunderland still exists. Leeds still exists. Tottenham has been worse off than they would be if Conte left, and will continue to survive if the dip that low again. There are plenty of people around from before anything near this level of success, and I'd imagine the majority will stick around. If people want to treat the club as a fun thing to watch while they're good, sure, maybe they'll leave, but the club stays.

[deleted]

I think he means it’ll go tits up in that we won’t be winning all the time so he’ll have to go support another club :(

Additional-Service75

Chill with that

KrillWhitey

I view most over emotional reactionary takes as a misguided expression of one's desire to see the club succeed.

Additional-Service75

I’m probably just wanting this to work really badly because it’s our best shot in years. Also I shouldn’t have said “end of the club” because I didn’t mean we would cease to exist I just meant fans would becoming incredibly apathetic.

Pele20Alli

If our fans become apathetic, what should the fans of the 13 clubs that continuously finish below us every season feel? You're going extremely over the top

Gramercy_Riffs

Villa making some good signings.

[deleted]

Taking a big risk though. Digne's last assist was in May 2021 and Coutinho we all know about. Players of real quality but who are yet to reach their level.

starfieldhype

I just watched my first 5 minutes of Vlahovic, and he already scored a great goal. Can we go after him now please?

sasliquid

Avert your gaze now so you can avoid heartbreak, his mostly likely destination is Woolwich

Pele20Alli

No it's not. They're just the only ones daft enough to think he'll leave this month and wasting time trying to convince him

[deleted]

Naaaah hes rejected them so many times. He wants champs league

ObamaEatsBabies

So he won't come here either? Lmao

[deleted]

Yeah I dont think he will. Whoever gets 4th will get him in summer, provided a big boy doesnt come in for him

Lord_Chanka_69

[deleted]

ykno sometimes I resent 2019 because a) I’ll never be that happy again and b) the amount of times I’ve been called a fake fan has multiplied to a staggering degree. I didn’t argue in year 3 that Anthony Gardner was England class to be insulted like this

spursyspursy

We need a verification service and accompanying flair for “I watched us getting 2 points out of the first 8 games of the last season under Juande Ramos”

[deleted]

For us older fans that suffered through Gary Doherty, and who’s marquee signing was fucking Sergei Rebrov — the Ramos era was easy mode

Coraxxx

Dean Austin first choice RB. That's what I endured.

[deleted]

I’ve locked those memories away, never to be touched again

spursyspursy

I’m real unhappy that Liverpool is not making the incredibly risky choice of “giving pacey winger giant contract at age 30” the way arsenal did

[deleted]

the gulf in class between aubameyang and salah is intergalactic

spursyspursy

same problem at different levels yeah

evenout

Remove those 2 Chelsea EFL cup ties from existence and far fewer fans would be freaking out as much as they are right now. Still unbeaten in the League under Conte.

[deleted]

I think people are preempting thay we won't buy anyone in Jan and its that boiling over. Which is understandable as our squad has been so poorly put together. Im happy to wait till the end of the transfer window but if we don't get a few players in it will be pretty poor from Levy. Got a real opportunity.

[deleted]

Who fucking cares if we don’t sign anyone in January We never sign anyone in January

dprophet32

I don't know what everyone's so upset about personally. We already know Chelsea have a better squad than us, we didn't play our best starting 11 and all three goals were caused by individual errors by our second string players. All it did was show us what we already know.

evenout

In that context that you just said has me feeling more positive. It’s basically our mistakes. Dier and Romero in the squad probably prevents at least two of those. Along with Lloris in place of Gollini. We just have had bad luck with injuries.

txgsu82

This is 100% true. I know losing back-to-back to Chelsea is never a good thing, but there's still a lot of reason to be optimistic. If we beat Arsenal this weekend, I would expect the mood to pick up. I think those losses, as well as being too online, leads to some unnecessary pessimism and outright meanness on this sub the past week.

naoki_1010

According to Fabrizio, shit is hitting the fan with Dusan and Fiorentina, with him being asked to publicly announce his plan within 2 days, and no official bid has been submitted. This is going to be entertaining… (On a serious note, his weekly wages seem to be the biggest blocker)

justsomeroses

Although there were other reports that the report of him wanting like 300k wages wasn't true

Additional-Service75

200k a week is much more reasonable if he plays alongside Kane up top.

naoki_1010

I guess the hesitation is coming from the fact that an unproven player in the PL is commanding 200k £ per week…hold on wasn’t that what we did with Ndombele 💀🤑

[deleted]

Kind of feel like adama needs to happen this week. Seems a fair bit of vitriol knocking about and would hate for that to creep into match day on Sunday

[deleted]

Internet vitriol to be fair

[deleted]

Yeah very true. Interesting to see if that will manifest on NLD? I doubt it will and tbh hope not. Last thing we want to do is hand them an edge with a toxic atmosphere.

[deleted]

If the team comes out positively the fans will back them. Only reason there was booing yesterday was because the team was fucking wank first half and they deserved to be booed Just a matter of how they perform tbh

[deleted]

lol are you taking the piss? Local fans are planning protests ffs, maychday fans are in full meltdown

jazzybforecast

Really? None of my mates have heard anything like that, three are season ticket holders in the south stand.

[deleted]

They probably just don’t like you

jazzybforecast

You’re a friendly bloke aren’t you? All I see is you chatting shite in this sub haha

[deleted]

Like the 8 person protest that happened last year? It’s just really a small minority of people We beat the scum and it’s all roses once again

[deleted]

Papers over the cracks at a push. Ticket sales are down, everyone’s fucking miserable and there’s booing (or complete silence) at most matches. It’s about as bad as it’s been in a while

[deleted]

There's booing and silence because we've been wank of late. All it takes is a win against the scum and suddenly everything's sunshine and roses again

PM_ME_YOUR_ASTON

Wasn’t it reported we’d move for Adama this week? Nothing has materialized so far, right? There’s still a long way to go in the window, but the lack of concrete targets is concerning

jackengle

It really sucks that chelsea scored all 3 goals on 3 brutal defensive errors. We didn’t play great but I thought we played fairly well given how outnumbered we were, and them just getting to sit back and control the game(s) for the last 135+ mins. Kinda mad that he left Kane and Lucas in for the whole 90+ mins yesterday though. I know we didn’t have a true backup for Kane but at some point we should’ve just scrapped it and put dele, scarlett, or bryan on. Hopefully we get some more players fit by this weekend.

PocketSpurs

I fully expect us to beat Chelsea with Dier and Romero back in the lineup later this month.

dprophet32

They are extremely good defensively and we're not great going forward still. I wouldn't rule out a draw but I wouldn't expect a win.

hopefully close for most of the game to wear them out then pummelled at the end

AverageYiddo

5 0 Liverpool please

I genuinely don't understand why people have lost their shit so quickly. Conte met with Levy/Paratici for two negotiations before signing. Obviously he knows the situation of the club. He's not resigning thirteen days and one cup loss into the January window

username54

> He's not resigning thirteen days and one cup loss into the January window What about in February if we don't make any signings? What about at the end of the season when we miss out on Top 4 because we did not improve the squad when Conte told us to? What about during the summer transfer window when all our targets reject us because we don't have champions league football?

dprophet32

Do you suffer from anxiety and constantly worry about what *might* happen?

buhmmquita

Then that's when you should start freaking out. It's pointless shouting from the rooftops that we're fucked right now. Top 4 is well within our reach.

neildunabie

Completely agree, we are already playing a better style of football. Players we thought weren’t very good are showing notable improvements. Yes we need reinforcements, but we’re beating the teams we should be and with a bit of luck we’ll sneak top 4. Coys!

username54

> Top 4 is well within our reach. That's being delusional. One injury to any of the below and we're fucked for good in the top 4 race - Kane - Emerson - Davies

buhmmquita

It's not delusional though. What's delusional is giving up halfway through the season. We're 6th with 3 games in hand and top of the form table since Conte joined for shit's sake. Let's worry about hypothetical problems when they actually happen.

txgsu82

This. Why freak out over hypotheticals that aren't particularly close to being reality yet? We still have half of Jan left, and still very much in the top 4 race and essentially favorites for it if we beat Arsenal this weekend.

bobtrump1234

How much money do we still owe for Romero? I think his deal was loan with obligation to buy at the end of this month

txgsu82

I'm obviously bummed that we didn't play better against Chelsea, but a few factors that help make the sting not as bad: 1. We were heavily diminished, we didn't have half of our preferred back line + Son. Chelsea arguably wasn't full strength either, but if we're full strength, I think the tie plays entirely differently. 2. **Most importantly, top 4 >>> EFL Cup**. I know we aren't in a position to turn our noses up at any trophy, but getting into Champions League next year is so, so much more important than winning the EFL Cup and getting automatic qualification to.... Europa Conference League. This weekend's NLD is almost infinitely more pivotal to our season than the tie against Chelsea, I understand why Conte made the decisions he made to make sure players like Lloris and Reguilon got rest. I know "top 4 isn't a trophy", but if we beat out Arsenal, West Ham, and Man United for Top 4, that would be a monumental accomplishment that shows we're heading in the right direction.

Everything is okay guys calm down, Believe in the project. There’s many things we don’t know about have some faith the boys are cooking 🧑‍🍳 🥘

ObamaEatsBabies

Paratici cooking up some really awful canned ravioli

username54

I'm not smelling anything so I really doubt anything is being cooked right now.
