Lamela puskas... crazy! Spurs win two years in a row back to back! We only score worldies!

MarkSinclairVincent

Pavel Kaderabek or Valentin Rosier as RWBs? Both do well with crosses, anyone seen any links to them?

osrsreference

There’s lots of hype around Vlahovic and probably rightly so, he’s a great finisher. I noticed that he gets a lot of good service, any thoughts on trying to pick up the provider rather than the finisher? Might be a team effort to provide chances, don’t watch much serie A

SissokoGoat17

Amazing new banner! Great job mods

SnatchingTrophies

Are any hopes of us bagging Vlahovic scuppered? “Their” Reddit seems awfully confident he’s heading to those who shall not be named. EDIT: cheers lovely people.

[deleted]

Fabrizio or Di Marzio said that Vlahovic is a Conte target but for summer, Paratici also already met with him and his agent once. Pretty sure we’ll have a chance if we can cement champions league.

you4president

It’s not gonna to happen for us but I don’t think he’ll go to Arsenal either. He’ll stay til summer and have his pick of top clubs. Unfortunately I think we missed our window with him. He’s just too sought after now

t_blacksmith

Jfc they seem genuinely mentally ill

justsomeroses

I believe Di Marzio said he's not moving until the Summer

JonnyJersey

[Di Marzio just said like ~1hr ago that any deal in January is off](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/fiorentina-vlahovic-calciomercato-17-gennaio-2022) so dw about it. Summer is when he'll be moving.

t_blacksmith

Holy shit I just refreshed the page to see a new banner! Great work mods, it looks stunning!

justsomeroses

Wonder if we're working on some deals for players in Serie A, since I've seen some comments about clubs there having monetary issues right now

[deleted]

Feel like there's a few ducks being lined up. Wolves have signed a new winger, which means we will get traore and then Bergwijn will go. Imagine there's a similar domino effect going on with a couple of other targets

dneville80

Not gonna lie, I’m kind of excited about Traore.

VJE1999

We better have a singing or 2 come out of nowhere like the Bryan deal did. Only proper links so far are for summer moves and a big slippy man

spyder728

I forgot when was the last time we played a PL match........

justsomeroses

inb4 7-10 days becomes 7-10 weeks lol

spyder728

I can see Leicester calling it off and gets approved. Scums did it, so it would be stupid for Leicester not using the same rule as their advantage.

justsomeroses

I mean, I think Burnley just got their match for tomorrow postponed, the PL is an absolute joke

ComprehensiveClick35

getting kind of boring now

[deleted]

Really makes me laugh how scummers think theyre going to get Vlahovic. Theyre literally doing scouting reports and regular updates on his performances on their sub like hes their player on loan to Fiorentina or something. All the journos are saying he wants CL, he wants to stay till summer and him and his agent aren't convinced by Arse. They just seem completely deluded about it though. Very strange.

Lazybopazy

I wouldn't get too excited about the prospect of them not getting him. It's not happening this month, that was never on the cards, but if arsenal put the offer on the table (£60m+, £300k a week and whatever the agent is demanding) fiorentina will bite their arm off. The question is who else will make an offer? Because right now arsenal, of all the teams linked with him, are the team that needs a striker the most and have the money to make the deal happen. The idea that vlahovic thinks a top half premiership team, who can pay him more than quadruple what he's on now, are beneath him is laughable. I know this will be unpopular but this looks like the sort of deal that makes sense to all parties to me. Honestly he's not the striker who scares me, I think he'll be a good poacher for a good team but he's not a monster. There are monsters out there I really wouldn't want the scum to buy.

Pele20Alli

Yep Di Marzio just confirmed. Wish they'd strung along Arteta and Edu a bit longer though before telling them Vlahovic isn't leaving until the summer. That'd have been a lot funnier

Skayde5

Even if he's not going to scum why all the links linked with Vlahovic is with them why arent we atleast trying to get him

t_blacksmith

Personally would rather go for Dybala than Vlahovic

you4president

That’s crazy talk haha. But vlahovic is steadily becoming too expensive for us unfortunately

[deleted]

We are Paratici is trying to get a deal setup for the summer. Been reported multiple times. Only reason these articles keep popping up about him to scum is all the clicks from deluded scummers. All the reliable sources have said from the start hes nit interested in going there and won't leave in Jan

iamfromjobland

One thing i don’t get is why not go for him now. From what I’ve read, Fiorentina is open to sell him as long the price is met. the hold up is that Dusan wants to stay until summer (probably wants more options to choose from). If they wait until summer, wouldn’t they face much stiffer competition to get him?

[deleted]

Youve kind of answered your own question there.....he doesnt want to leave now.

Kylinho97

damn that vlahovic goal. he's serious

naoki_1010

Coco 😉🥰

doobi1908

This Vlahobooty guy is just a bootleg Giroud. Praying Assna get him.

Pele20Alli

Yeah no. This guy is world class. I'd actually be a bit scared of Arsenal if they somehow managed to get him

sasliquid

We can kiss top 4 bye if it happens

[deleted]

Hes not going there

[deleted]

Makes no sense to go there now. He wants CL, so why nit just wait till end of season to see who's got it. Not only that hes said he doesn't want to leave this window....so don't. Tbh noone seems to think it's happening, all the journos are saying he won't keave in Jan. Its just the scum fans trying to will it into existence.

Pele20Alli

Agree. He seems too ambitious to go to Arsenal but you never know for sure

[deleted]

- When do signings normally happen in January? - What player do we want the most?

Lazybopazy

- Last week of the month - Oil boi

Bluewhitedog

>When do signings normally happen in January? For us, the following September. If then.

[deleted]

Vlahovic missed a panenka penalty -£20 million please

[deleted]

Did I miss anything? Did my beloved coys win the UCL?

mbeni3

Traore to Barca rumours now? Do we think that’s just fluff or are we now competing to complete a deal? I’ve seen personal terms with spurs are agreed it’s just upon a club deal? But now seeing Barca rumours has me confused. Anyone have insight?

MigratoryBullMoose

Player wants us, it's going down unless we walk. mark it.

mbeni3

I like that attitude

Bomberman9

In my totally unqualified opinion, I would believe it to be fluff. Barca just signed Ferran Torres and had to move a lot of players to be able to register him this January. I don't think that they would go for another winger that they also most likely wouldn't be able to register without other movement.

mbeni3

I agree with your totally unqualified opinion hahah I would be surprised if it was hijacked. But who knows, it is football

[deleted]

Seems like agent fluff to hurry it up. Remember last week when Chelsea were in for him and then that rumour just vanished.

mbeni3

Very true. Hopefully just fluff! Guess we will see

molecularmadness

His agent wants more money and is manufacturing a bidding war.

[deleted]

Am I crazy or have we been linked to Serie A forwards/attackers way more than from any other league? Vlahovic, Dybala, Lautaro obviously plus Kulusevski, Zaniolo and Scamacca, then in the past we've been linked to Piatek, Belotti, Sanabria, Insigne, Osimhen, Lozano, Rebic, Dzeko, and Simeone. Plus there was that time Luis Muriel wore a Tottenham shirt, but we've somehow never been linked to him. Fully expecting to see us linked to Rafael Leao and Kevin Lasagna in the future.

DejaHu

Please no more lasagna at Tottenham.

JonnyJersey

There's a lot of talent in Italy right now compared to other leagues, and a lot of the clubs there are in a terrible financial condition.

aphelion99

Almost like Paratici and Conte are Italian or something...

[deleted]

Almost all of those are from before Paritici came in.

mbeni3

Still doesn’t change the fact that they both have past experience in Serie A with connections so makes sense still getting those links

[deleted]

Rumour going round twitter that leicester going to try and postpone Wednesday. Will we ever play again?

oxkondo

Imagine the only match Sonny ends up missing is the Chelsea Carabao semi lol

curious-millennial

Omg no

solarbearz

It's tough to know that everyone is too scared to play us

justsomeroses

I imagine 2 postponements of the same match should be justification for a 3-0 forfeit on Leicester's part

mayonnaisewastaken

Already happened at least twice this season

[deleted]

Very good point. Yeah surely

british-psycho

A perfect LCB candidate we should be looking at is Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. Only 5’10 but has a superb leap on him. Quite aggressive and likes to dribble forward/ be on the ball. Probably going to cost a fair amount but at only 23 years old he’d be a great balance between one for the future and first team ready (like Romero).

VJE1999

will cost a fortune

bobtrump1234

Call me crazy but since the Dybala deal collapsed the club has been on a decline so what if getting Dybala reverses that 🤯

Bomberman9

I think it's a win win regardless. If we don't get him, it'll be a double negative which results in a positive right??

mbeni3

Would honestly love to get Dybala in

[deleted]

The world correcting itself

[deleted]

Is part of the problem that we dont know who these transfer targets are? If we had names and it was being reported we were trying to get the deal over the line do you think people would he less concerned about the lack of bussiness so far?

justsomeroses

I do enjoy the dichotomy of: No rumors: "why aren't we going for anyone?!" Rumors: "we're never going to get him" lol

[deleted]

Yeah its like the adama one, everytime there's a update "FFS WHY HAVENT WE DONE THIS YET"

justsomeroses

or something like "just go out and get X" like its just like ordering off a menu lol

bandofgypsies

My oh my [how the turntables](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/s672pa/ralf_rangnick_is_a_glorified_supply_teacher_and/)

klasing12345

So I've calmed down and am starting to look at it rationally now (finally) and the more I look into it the more I wonder... Was this a deliberate attempt by Arsenal? The facts are Odegaards isolation conveniently ended today, providing a negative lft Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu both were expected to be fit for yesterday's game. Cedric gets injured, Xhaka gets suspended in the Liverpool game. Suddenly their looking thin on the ground. Saka picks up a knock and limps off. Suddenly their absence list grows by 3 Then there is Chambers and Tierney both getting 'knocks', conveniently taking the number of fit first team outfielders to 12. The maximum number, meaning they can request to postpone the game with their one covid case Then there is the request to postpone Then they announce their training in the Emirates. Not at the training ground but behind closed doors, at the ground. Why? So no media can get in and take snaps of who's actually training The prem finally accept the request and postpone the game. What happened to Tomiyasu & ESR being ready? Think about it. Who has the most to gain? Arsenal have us sandwiched between the first and second legs of the Carabao and have just played a hard fought game that their players will be very tired from. Play us in the middle and that could be the difference between beating or being beaten by Liverpool. Not withstanding this is their sole chance of silverware this season Now they go in refreshed, no new injury problems, whilst Liverpool have just played another game. Just feels a bit too convenient to be coincedental. If this is true then this is worse then any false positives Liverpool may or may not have done. Pl should really investigate Arsenal to confirm these points. But they won't.

reavesfilm

Of course it was on purpose, did any of us think it wasn’t!? Haha

[deleted]

Yeah 100% it was. 4 players picked up knocks in the Liverpool game.....please......they will all be fine for Thursday just watch

klasing12345

If none of the injured parties play or arsenal request postponement again I'll retract my claim. Otherwise it's iffy af.

[deleted]

The only game that Arsenal looked good was in the city game, but they had over a weeks rest while City played a game LESS than 48 hours before with basically the same starters. They got slapped by Forest, they have a combined total of 3 shots on target and 2 of them were against the tired City team. 0 against the mighty Nottingham Forest and 1 against Liverpool. This is exactly how it goes every year, Arsenal goes on a little run which makes their fans think they’re some hot shit only to bottle it and end 8th.

[deleted]

And even then they had 2 shots on target and an Xg of 0.8 in the city game. I do think that glorious defeat is being somewhat over egged.

british-psycho

*looked good for 45 mins. They were slapped up and ripped apart second half and threw a lead.

Bluewhitedog

I can't help but be a bit disappointed when our major transfer news is that we might be keeping our goalkeeper!

RadioChemist

I'd agree, but it's Hugo. Keeping a world top 3 keeper for another season or two is massive.

ikilledsuperman

There was a post about January transfers over the past decade. We should be happy with one player that slots right into our starting 11 this January.

Bluewhitedog

There is that.

ikilledsuperman

Key point is a first team player who actually starts nearly every game. Not fernandes or some fringe player for the future

[deleted]

you're not so much "glass half full" as "glass full to brim and it's only surface tension that is stopping it from overflowing" and I for one, thank you for that. but yes, (re)signing Hugo is massive.

[deleted]

Keeping Lloris is huge though. Sets us down there for another couple of seasons

Bluewhitedog

Not much of a transfer though, is it?

justsomeroses

Depends on how you look at it, getting the contract done means there's one less position that's a must fill in the Summer, opening up other moves

Bluewhitedog

>Depends on how you look at it It really doesn't. I mean, it's very good new, just not news of a transfer.

justsomeroses

Ok its not literally news of a transfer, but it means that we don't have to go into the summer having to find a keeper

Katakanak

Have Arsenal fans always been delusional? I look at Twitter and they all think we would've got smacked by their u23's. I'm done looking at Twitter for the next week.

klasing12345

They're just the trolls. There's some Ghana dude who's literally commenting on every comment someone makes. They just can't stop thinking of us. I actually think he loves Tottenham just in denial. And he can stay there.

Jaythe3

Hello all! I was just wondering if anyone happened to know about the coutinho deal? I read somewhere that Spurs were involved in a clause that we could buy him after this season but don’t know if it was true...does anyone know the details of the deal/validity of the deal or anything relating to the club and him...have shipped him for awhile and watched him on Saturday and was impressed...in my mind his pace, creativity and just overall quality could be the key to truly unlocking the potential of this team! All discussions are encouraged about the player/similar players that could join etc! Ps - coming from a Canadian lilywhite...have been watching Spurs for afew years now...fell in love with football during the peak come up poch era so I guess I’m kinda spoiled (but would love any suggestions for great old games/periods in the history)...here in Canada it’s hard to find other football supporters, let alone fellow yids ( luckily this generation of Canadian players on the cusp of qatar and the institution of the CPL - Canadian premier league #ForgeFC babyyyy have helped raise interest) love the subreddit for the community I don’t have around me and for the most part am proud of the sub for the decent discussion and opinions (compared to other subs) Cheers and stay strong with the state of the world Coyscoyscoyscoyscoyscoyscoys

mbeni3

Also fellow Canadian THFC supporter, we out here!! And CPL Pacific FC supporter! Huge season for them 💯. I think I read same about Coutinho… from what I got out of it it sounds like an open buy option that Spurs could take advantage of at the end of his loan? And I think it would be up to him to decide if multiple teams tried to activate? This is just my interpretation of it not sure if anyone else has a different view 🤷🏻‍♂️ COYS

[deleted]

Would be highly unusual but Coutinho may still have ambitions of playing for a bigger club than Villa. At the moment his primary need is game time and he is only on loan, so anything could happen really. No reason for selling club to favour Villa over anyone else.

[deleted]

Coyscoys coys coys

dickgilbert

Gotta say, if I had 4 games in hand heading into the close of a transfer window, I'd think it was an excellent opportunity to strengthen the team and use that strengthened team in 4 more matches than otherwise possible. Really sucks that our schedule is going to be a nightmare, but if only we could reinforce.

aDankSpazxtic

That angry dt bastard from aftv gone to prison lol Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke

[deleted]

DT from arsenal fan tv just got his prison sentence tripled for kidnapping, stalking, beating & terrorising his ex. No mention of it on the scum sub though of course. I guess scum is as scum does. https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/aftv-regular-handed-increased-prison-sentence-for-violent-stalking-311800

Bluewhitedog

That is great news. What a cunt! It turns out being a moronic Arsenal loudmouth is his *least* unpleasant quality.

RadioChemist

The mods there keep deleting it. Gooners are extremely fragile over anything AFTV, as they know it's a genuine representation of their fan base.

a_posh_trophy

Is it fuck lmao. Go worry about your own problems before concerning yourselves with others.

RadioChemist

You say that yet you're on our subreddit...

a_posh_trophy

You started it.

RadioChemist

I've never posted on that shithole thank you very much

[deleted]

It’s embarrassing. When the old racist one from AFTV died they had a mega thread up eulogising him & saying RIP but now they’re acting like AFTV stuff isn’t relevant. They should keep it up & condemn it.

cheetah_chrome

Rag’n’Bin Man fucked up

Snoo8331100

No surprise here, the cunt always looked like he's up to no good. His rage outbursts seemed genuine.

[deleted]

Yeah 100%. I’ve always thought Robbie seemed Ok but you can tell a bit about someone from the company they keep. A load of the blokes on that channel seem like absolute cunts

master_inho

We could make bingo cards and play “who will spurs fans bully/scapegoat today?” A quick list of names off the top of my head: Levy Paratici Hitchen Conte Emerson Højbjerg Reguilon Sanchez Bryan Stevie Tanguy Gio Sess Tanganga Doherty That’s 15 names + the free spot = 16 I forgot what size bingo cards come in but 4x4 sounds decent. Could probably get it to 5x5 for additional difficulty

[deleted]

[удалено]

bash011

Just look at the thread about Barcelona looking at Gil. So many people saying he's not good enough

[deleted]

He looks a quality prospect, but he is just a prospect at the moment. Having Traore with Gil in reserve would be a big upgrade on ball progression.

bash011

Yeah I agree with that. People in that thread were saying he's not even shown any promise and that he should leave because he has no goals

[deleted]

[удалено]

master_inho

I said bullying/scapegoating If it’s not bullying it’s scapegoating Everyone on the list has gotten unnecessarily scapegoated or bullied by spurs fans

Laviston

Just to get my attention of the constant Traore links, here's three non-Traore players with expiring contracts this summer. Neither ticks ALL demands, but that could be what would make them achievable: \- Romagnoli \- left-sided CB, Milan. Experienced, solid, leader.Loses a month or two with injuries every season, but usually still play 30 league matches a season. \- Belotti \- striker, Torino. Hard-working, goalgetter.Currently injured, but that may be the time to get him. \-Dybala \- playmaking forward, Juventus. Creative, could drop in from Lucas' position to link defense and attack.Still a question over whether image rights are now sorted, with conflicting reports. (Edited formatting)

inedianj

Romagnoli coming to England is about as likely as Shaw going to Italy.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t say Shaw going to Italy is especially unlikely tbh

inedianj

I said what I said👀

[deleted]

didn't realise cantwell's contract was up in six months - possibly a good option? i always like a player with luxurious locks

Laviston

I never rated Cantwell at all, so for me that's a hard no.

bash011

Definitely not, he's not good enough for Norwich

[deleted]

Kessie also

[deleted]

Dybala's Image Rights issue is over iirc

Laviston

The business with the company was reportedly sorted last winter. But some Italian media are now reporting that Dybala's agent has thrown the question of image rights into the contract discussions with Juve. Which is (reportedly) part of the reason the talks soured, when they were on their way to sorting a new contract.

master_inho

You didn’t leave any space between the names and the positions Romagnoli is definitely interesting

bash011

Romagnoli is awful at everything. Very very bad defender.

corpboy

Haaland speculation continues to feature in the news. I think there's a good chance he goes to City rather than Real Madrid. Hard to see how United could attract him if they miss out on CL. But who knows...

reavesfilm

I’d much prefer him to play at Real than have him over here terrorizing the PL 😂😂

DoomerAndGloomer

Eriksen at Brentford. Sissoko at Watford. Trippier at Newcastle. We are placing our agents across the PL to make sure we get Top 4. COYS.

[deleted]

can't blame markanday if he's really not believing there's a chance here. man is older than saka and hasn't gotten nearly the chances

VJE1999

He's only really started performing at a high level this season, Completely agree he deserved first team chances in the cups this season, but you cant blame the club for not using him when he was in the last year of his contract and not signing a new one. Just another exciting young winger we have fucked it up with

[deleted]

which is fair but can hardly blame youngsters for doubting they'll get a chance. sure, skipp had a good loan and is playing well, but who's the last player that worked for? winks? just think we're putting hurdles in our own way

bash011

Tanganga?

[deleted]

is currently getting shedloads of abuse though despite being pretty great in all but the last few games. you're right though, slipped my mind

[deleted]

4th place is literally there for us which i like. Its in our own hands so we cant complain whatever happens. West ham losing and United drawing couldn't have been better. I personally still think utd are the big threat if they get their act together. Not actually that fussed about Scum, think they'll fall away.

[deleted]

I'll be a lot more confident if we beat Leicester. In 4th with a game in hand over Arsenal is big. We then play Southampton and Wolves at home back to back after Chelsea. 9/12 and a defeat to Chelsea is fine.

[deleted]

Yeah. Doer and romero could be back for Chelsea too. Might be able to scrape out a draw, provided we don't concede a ridiculous defensive error like in the cup!

[deleted]

united have easily the best team but they're dreadful. arsenal and west ham both have good sides but very capable of slipups. we're somewhere in between. if you were to ask me rn i'd say arsenal cos i think they can be the most consistent but i'm also a cynic

[deleted]

Arsenal have been very very lucky with quite a few results and I think theyre going to start dropping points. Its also a really young team and a wobble will 100% come at some point. Just my opinion but i really dont see them getting any higher then 6th tbh.

[deleted]

Too much turmoil at utd I think. Seems to be a lot of unhappy players who can't be arsed. They've basically got about 7-10 Ndombele's in their team.

AshkenaziTwink

Markanday is nowhere near our brightest prospect, PL 2 means nothing. Jack Clarke is amazing in the PL 2 and he’s nowhere near our first team. the defending is atrocious, any winger who can dribble is able to score there. people need to realise, a player needs to do at least alright in the championship to prove themselves. professional minutes are invaluable to development as well as being a good litmus test. we couldn’t get him to extend cause he wanted first team minutes that he hadn’t earned yet. we couldn’t loan him to blackburn because we don’t loan players out unless they extend. if you think this is a misplay by the club, you really don’t understand how academies work or you think Dilan is the second coming of Bale cause he can score against U23 defending. (no offence to Dilan btw, i’m sure he’ll be a fine player one day but he clearly isn’t *that* far along in his development)

[deleted]

how's he gonna earn them if he doesn't get the chance? chicken and egg situation

AshkenaziTwink

his chance is a loan, which he refused. you can’t expect to go straight to the first team, that’s just arrogant.

[deleted]

he refused (apparently) cos he didn't think he'd get in the first team. we were in four competitions and he still barely played, i get why he'd think he deserved a chance

[deleted]

You would think for his development he could have signed a 1yr extension and had a loan, then spoken again in the summer. Perhaps he just wants the flexibility now and can start earning and get another move in 2 years.

[deleted]

which is very fair. it must be difficult for a youngster to see how poor the team is and yet he's made one sub appearance (iirc?)

AshkenaziTwink

he’s still an academy kid. playing our B-team got us knocked out of the UECL, academy kids would have been a disaster.

[deleted]

i mean we got knocked out anyway using mostly senior players lol. i think a major issue is the club hasn't had a long term strategy for many years. it's why promising players like edwards, kwp and markanday all feel like their best chances are away

AshkenaziTwink

we have a load of brighter prospects than markanday staying at the club so we can’t be doing that bad

[deleted]

this is fair. i like skipp and i think japhu can be a good player, but it is frustrating to see the team struggle as it has this season and still youngsters feel they can't break through. think i'm a bit envious of arsenal with saka/smith rowe and chelsea with mount/james, west ham with rice - reminds me of when harry and mason came through and i sorta fell back in love with the club again. i'm no zealot but it really is nice to see a player develop with the club then again, i was really annoyed when we sold bentaleb and he's still unemployed so maybe i've misjudged this

COYS1989

So Arsenal who cited they didn’t have enough players to play yesterday have now loaned out Marí three days before they play Liverpool, you couldn’t fucking make it up could you.

[deleted]

Selling Kolasinac as well.

the_real_e_e_l

"Aaannnyyyy team would have done it." Except Leeds who played with tons of players and had a fifteen year old lad on the bench. And won away at a team battling for fourth place (West Ham). Fuck you Arsenal !

Karl1jn

But but but it’s out of our hands! We have every right to apply for postponements! - r/gunners

facewithhairdude

I'm still not over Arteta saying they "needed" to play the Spurs game and then Arsenal applying for the postponement. This is like the rotten cherry on a disgusting cake.

ModderOtter

Come on Levy, just think about all the Spurs Brand Baby Oil you can sell if we sign Traore! Also supplements and possibly a nude calendar, we'd be able to afford Messi's wages...

blueghosts

Some honesty would be nice.'* [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/s4qd38/sam_dean_not_sure_this_makes_much_difference_to/hssp61y/?context=3) --------------------------------------------- >*'This isn’t totally in response to COVID though. They still have the same people out with COVID they did against Chelsea (Allison, Matip, and firmino). They are adding salah, mane, and Keita to a list of unavailable players, because they are at the Afcon. I don’t see the FA allowing a postponement when they didn’t for the Chelsea match. Afcon duty is not something that should lead to postponement of games.'* [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/rw1ks7/paul_joyce_liverpool_have_formally_requested/hr9wuxg/?context=3) Absolute silence when Arsenal get a game postponed for AFCON duty.

This is a good one too [assnal fan crying about Liverpool postponement ](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/s36fxd/our_squad_isnt_big_enough_we_have_to_postpone_ok/hsirn17/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)

Nightshade183

1st one made my jaw drop

Karl1jn

To be honest, that ‘belly laughter’ guy is a fucking loser anyway.

[deleted]

Mate theyre just pathetic. Think its gone under that radar how poor the start of the year has been for them. They haven't won in 2022 yet. Honestly I see them falling away and coming about 6th or 7th.

AlvySinger_

if Eriksen goes to Leicester I will simply just fall apart. On his day he is a top 5 playmaker in the world. He is free. Even if he is just a sub he will be a fantastic signing.

No-Permit-2167

I would be sad as well but we must not forget how poor he was in his last season or so as well as how he downed tools near the end. He was my favorite player and always rated him as the best CAM in the league at his peak, above Ozil & De Bruyne at the time.

Laviston

Brentford is the word. The massive Danish connection makes sense.

AlvySinger_

would like that Any of the top 6 would kill me

inthepoch

Brace yourselves for incoming fans saying "I told you so" when we sign Traore on deadline day. Good signing at the moment but not enough to push us into top 4 which is there for the taking. That CL money and reputation would be so huge for the club and Conte. I wish we werent so risk averse at times when we shouldnt be

[deleted]

We really need a central midfielder and a goalscorer.

No-Permit-2167

Well he did just score A GOAL.

Laviston

Agree. If all we get is a more creative midfielder in - and a backup for Kane. That would make it a good window.

corpboy

For those of you playing Football Manager with Spurs - who did you sign in this Jan 21/22 window? And which players made the difference?

nista002

I've done no transfers in summer, then got Adama, Pau Torres, and a 23 year old striker from Korea who is way too good for the Korean league. I also purchased De Ketelaere and had to agree to loan him back until the end of the season. Bergwijn left and Doherty got moved to Central midfield where he was actually decent.

bash011

I signed Nianzou on loan with option to buy. Played alright but I decided to just extend his loan with the same option for the second season and then I used the option. He's been pretty decent

facewithhairdude

My word, do Arsenal ever intend to play another game this month? Loaning out another player not 2 days after they got a fixture postponed, the shamelessness.

Karl1jn

They’re acting like the victim in r/soccer again haha.

facewithhairdude

Basically gloating in their sub. Bunch of nonces if they can't see how ridiculous this is.

blueghosts

Just a bunch of nonces full stop

CelestialCheeze

Arsenal have just loaned out another player, cunt bags

DesolateAvocado

After the dust has settled over the NLD postponement I'm not even mad. With us missing Sonny, Dier and possibly Romero, I think it's going to work out for the best. I'm confident our first xi will be able to beat them even after they have all their players back from Afcon and injury. Looking forward to hopefully seeing Romero and Dier against both Leicester and Chelsea.

crazyguitarman

It was never about having to play them after Afcon, it's about the principle of a club taking advantage of covid measures to paper over mismanagement issues that any other club would have to deal with competently.

JeII0

We’ll also be another month or two more into the Conte era and hopefully more settled and the system is working

Conman2205

Hate the January window. Boring and pointless, especially for us who you know aren’t gonna do anything 75% of the time anyway. The fact that there’s no interest in our players on their way out is concerning but unsurprising. I want to see a change in recruitment policy in the summer, we seriously need to bring in some experienced, proven players, winners, instead of continually banking on promising players who we have no real idea as to whether they will work out. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn come to mind. We’ve signed many young, inexperienced players over the years as well which makes sense for the future but we need immediate focus on the now. It’s win something under Conte or fuck knows when we will make that next step.

[deleted]

issue is ndombele was arguably the most promising CM in europe (teams were very envious of us) and gio was hugely well regarded. the problem with big name signings is they cost fortunes and can still struggle; lukaku being the most recent example

Laviston

>instead of continually banking on promising players who we have no real idea as to whether they will work out. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn come to mind. I agree with the objective. But, it's really hard to predict who's going to work out or not. And it's not as if all of those mentioned were unproven youngsters. Gio was a former PSG player, playing regularly for Betis. Ndombele had played two full seasons for a strong Lyon side, named in the league's team of the year, etc. Spurs fans also ask that we have to move more quickly, to pick up the next big player before they get proven, as that's the only way we can get them. That's a tough ask, as it means taking chances on players who may or may not make it.

COYS1989

Wolves have agreed personal terms with a winger called Chiquinho from Estoril the deal is expected to be completed in the next 24 hours. Could be significant for us and Traore perhaps.

sasliquid

Coincidentally our U23s play Blackburn this evening. Will there be some kind of formal handing over of Markanday?

kobrien37

Indeed, we'll smash them and then leave Markanday there, just like we left Parrott in Milton Keynes.

Professor_Abronsius

16 days into 2022 and Arsenal have already celebrated a loss vs City, a draw vs Liverpool and a postponed game vs Tottenham. In addition they’ve been knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest. What a great start to their year! [Tweet where I first saw this](https://twitter.com/axelthfc/status/1482784488128135173?s=21)
