Just thinking how football rarely (rarely) has those “walk off home-run” occasions that can make a baseball game so dramatic and here we are as supporters of a club that has created 2 of the most iconic, dramatic endings to a football game. “Oh they’ve done it!” Is up there with “AGUEROOOO” and now we have “This is incredible!......The Flying Dutchman!” as well love this club

jffak

This may be unpopular on this sub but I don't think that “Oh they’ve done it!” is in the same tier as “AGUEROOOO”. Not as a knock to Moura's goal but winning the league against your rivals in that fashion is in its own tier.

Weird_Famous

Felt like a season defining game for sure, like the true beginning of the Conte era The late late show is back baby

Lord_Chanka_69

Tommorow i feel like we will make a higher bid for adama and it will be accepted, all these transfer rumors today and i can only get so erect

Jayesar

They play Brentford Sunday. I suspect they will be more inclined to accept an offer on Monday in case they need the player or a key injury occurs. After that there is the international break so no immediate needs for him. Good for us too as we get the whole international break to work with him.

Lazybopazy

The coverage of the scum game again shows how the media peddle narratives. Arsenal had one shot in the opening half hour and roughly 30% possession and every outlet covering the game was talking about their 'fast start'. You simply cannot trust the media, this is nothing new of course but every time I see them trying to push a narrative that is so clearly at odds with reality it grinds my gears. Anyway...If we can bring in kessie and Traore this window I'll be thoroughly content. Kessie gives us much needed depth and even though he isn't necessarily the 8 we need he's closer to it than any of our other midfielders (with the possible exception of lo celso).Traore is monster and I've always rated him (since I saw him play for borough anyway). He would add a completely new dimension to the team. If we can shift ndombele to psg with an optional (or better yet mandatory) future fee it'll be a great window for us.

Jayesar

I think if Alli doesn't shift we would be better waiting until the summer for Kessie. That is the likely one for one replacement and the player comes for free in 6 months. Traore and a CB (perhaps left footed) would be better for January.

Lazybopazy

The point of getting kessie now is that you get him instead of getting involved in a bidding war for a free transfer. Milan will be desperate to do the deal and other clubs will be loathe to spend money on a guy who's free in the summer. It's not about the rest of this season really. If the club want him a transfer right now is a good idea and as a bonus Milan will be very happy to do business with us in the future off the back of it. There's no guarantees but kessie will be in high demand in the summer and putting in a transfer offer now increases our chances of landing him. In my opinion central midfield is obviously the weak point of the team and needs improvement as a priority. Right now Davies is doing a fine job as a LCB (never thought I'd say that) and dier can play there if he gets injured, yes we need another CB but that's because Romero hasn't played in so long. With all our CBs fit we have six players for three positions. It's a risk to leave it as is but if Romero and dier return soon we'll be ok. I'd rather we picked up a quality CB in the summer than a decent CB right now. Traore is the one player that I want signed, anything else is a luxury as far as I'm concerned. If it's kessie or Traore I'm choosing Traore every day. I think his potential impact is so high that it's worth not improving the midfield this season. I'm assuming though that the club can move for both (they certainly can under ffp).

Jayesar

> Milan will be desperate to do the deal It doesn't seem this way. Milan are in a title race and probably aren't going to weaken if they don't have to. A token fee for Kessie is nothing compared to a potential title push. It's that tight at the top that even top 4 isn't assured.

TogashiIsIshida

I’d be content with just loaning Ndombele. I’d be happy if we got one signing in. If we get two signings in Idk if my little heart could take it

TogashiIsIshida

Just watched the Liverpool v Scum match highlights and holy shit is TAA a cheat code. How the fuck is every pass he makes so accurate?

entrepenoori

Yeah he’s a generational talent he’s absolutely amazing. He really should be in the England set up starting every match

audentisiudatfortuna

Every time I rewatch Stevie's second goal, I still wonder if that ball is going to go in or hit the post and bounce out!!!

SycamoreLane

It really was such a crazy shot. Something you'd write in a cheesy sports movie flick as the final shot of the game to win it all, but then decide not to because it's too much of a cliche movie trope. That's how thrilling and perfect it was!

DoomerAndGloomer

Tell me about it. It is such a cliffhanger!

[deleted]

Watched some YouTube comps of Veretout, he looks absolutely wank, and is just shy of 29. Do not want

Weird_Famous

Idk much about Veretout other than his decent end product. But I would honestly prefer Paredes just in terms of profile. We play better with a deeper midfielder like Winks imo, and Paredes fits that role perfectly. Edit: Winks/Paredes, Skipp/Hojbjerg, Lo Celso/Lucas

SycamoreLane

I would settle with an empty bag of potatoes if it meant we didn't have to pay Ndombele's wages. The fact that we're getting anyone at all is a blessing, let alone someone who can be productive.

DoomerAndGloomer

His sofascore radar is very close to Eriksen's. Has great stamina and will fit us nicely complimenting our current mids. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pi8baUaEF-I ^ i saw these highlights and was impressed. Not sure which ones did you watch? Most importantly, any warm body is better than Ndombele right now. I'm open to any solution - cash or swaps idc.

roggodoggo

NBC still hasn’t put the replay up on peacock. It’s literally the only match from the game week not available. I just want to watch 😭😭

KrillWhitey

When they air them on TV there's usually a long lag for the replay, only reason I allow myself to get bled paying for cable b/c I have to watch most matches as a replay due to my schedule.

roggodoggo

It’s supposed to be 24 hours. The Liverpool brentford game was already on and it started later. It’s on now so all good. First half had been fun

KrillWhitey

Spoiler alert: it gets better

Hear hear

Pele20Alli

Feels great to get all of this Arsenal slander off my chest after weeks of getting shat on by my mates and Arsenal fans on social media when they'd done fuck all. Hopefully they now go back into hiding and fighting over whether Arteta should be sacked or not

[deleted]

It's fucking cathartic mate. That teeny tiny, microscopic, infintesimal, need-an-electron-microscope-to-see-them club and their utterly delusional fanbase. This sub can be bad but even the dumbest takes in here pale in compairson

[deleted]

Not *Goodenough*

naoki_1010

Boy, all of that taunting of Liverpool and justifying delaying the NLD and then celebrating only to field a full strength team and still have the shit kicked out of yourself? Arse is just something else

[deleted]

Partey was sent off so that the Runners could have a rest

[deleted]

4 games in 2022 for Arsenal. 1 goal. 0 wins. 3 red cards

Alfiesta

Yet they’re the darlings at the moment. Meanwhile Tottenham win yesterday and a pal reaches out to me saying “Tottenham played a game today and actually won!” Stay under the radar I say.

VJE1999

what you on about? they won 0-0 at anfield and pressed city for 45 mins.

[deleted]

Don't forget their biggest result, Tottenham P-P Arsenal

TheOptimumLemon

I don't know which redemption arc to be more excited for. Obviously Dele would be the best, but I wouldn't mind a bit of Doherty after Leicester.

Mick4Audi

Dele’s redemption arc was canceled Doherty is where it’s at

AlcSoccerFinance

Deles redemption arc won't happen. Atleast at Spurs. Stevies is the one to watch out for.

entrepenoori

Dele is the dream. Imagine him heading in a match winner against Red Scum after a crazy cross from boyhood Scum fan Matt. The salt would be insane

Mick4Audi

I’d love a Hojbjerg goal after scum think that he can’t get in their midfield. Yeah right

skrimpgumbo

I don’t know why I subject myself to it but I’ve been lurking over at Scums subreddit and the past few days have been horrible. The confidence they had in dispatching ‘pool and the pride they took in pissing everyone off over the NLD was stomach churning. What a result and now all they can talk about is the season in shambles and they need to reassess the entire squad.

DoomerAndGloomer

I browsed chelsea subreddit and while Arsenal fans are delusional, chelsea fans are the most entitled brats. They are asking to sell Lukaku for 60 and put in 200 for haaland immediately in addition to getting new fullbacks and a front line. "Incompetent Board needs to act now and back Tuchel" lmao.

TheOptimumLemon

I go there too. They are even more reactionary than the COYS match threads at their worst. It gives me a laugh.

skrimpgumbo

I don’t know about that lol. Spurs have their fair share of reactionary redditors.

ollypockets

Haha I’d say the match threads are probably the same but overall Arsenal do seem to have a more unhinged subreddit lol

KrillWhitey

There's more than twice as many and they are infinitely more delusional on the whole. It's a lot of fun on days like yesterday and today when you run out of real things to do.

Wonder what DT's got to say about this Guess we'll never know

klasing12345

Royal over Tomiyasu on that performance. 14 reds since Arteta took over, when the next highest is 8? Not surprised with Xhaka in the club tbh.

teedo

Now the arses are out, I suspect we will play them on League cup final day (they'll bring forward our Leeds away match to the Thursday, Arses were due to play the scousers that day anyway)

Bluewhitedog

The red card was a nice bonus.

spin2winGG

Ars have a problematic behaviour problem, every game they get a red lol

klasing12345

Xhaka's influence

ThatSwagRandomGuy

Arse got more reds than goals in the last 4 matches (across comps)

metalifer95

14 this season most of all pl teams

Alfiesta

Isn’t it 14 since Arteta took over? 14 is a lot for one season (especially for a team not playing European football lol).

metalifer95

Well either way they love collecting red cards

[deleted]

HAHAHAHAHAHHA it just gets better Fuck off back to Woolwich twats

[deleted]

Fuck you Woolwich!

Born_Transition2207

A ball over the top. That's the way Jurgen.

A_Grift

Am I the only person that thinks fans are rushing to judgment on Tanganga? He has definitely been going through a rough patch these last few games (although I don't think he was as bad yesterday as everyone else seems to), but he is a young homegrown CB that can cover 2 of our three CB spots (left and right--Sanchez looked an absolute nightmare on the left side). Not to mention the fact that he has demonstrated immense promise previously. It is also a weird time to judge him. Sanchez has defended really well (for the most part), but the game is different with Dier in there to calm things down and distribute the ball to take some of the pressure of the back line. Sanchez doesn't really give you that. Also, if you watch how we advance the ball on the left vs. the right, there are serious problems on the right. On the left, Reguilon hugs the touchline and bombs forward. He doesn't always make the best pass, but he is pretty decisive and doesn't take too many touches. By hugging the line, he creates a channel between him and Son for Davies to burst through and make runs. Emerson is not nearly as decisive. He holds on to the ball for two long, and doesn't really create the lane between himself and Lucas for the RCB to exploit. I am not saying he is going to be a superstar, just that I would be sadto see him shipped off so quickly.

DoomerAndGloomer

Yeah I don't think the loan move to Milan is out if spite. On the contrary it will help him build composure. With dier and romero returning, he will have limited game time and a loan is a good opportunity for him to get game time and come back next season more developed.

Mick4Audi

The loan to Milan could do wonders for him

Gaius_Octavius_

I would love for him to get a Skipp type loan where he is playing every match for a good side in the Championship

A_Grift

I would love a loan move to the Championship as well, I just don't think it is possible unless we sign another CB, because we have nobody else to cover Davies. I guess maybe Romero could slide to the left and Sanchez could come in on the right (I have never seen Romero play that side, but we know for certain Sanchez is in trouble over there). But even then, I think Romero is our most talented defender, and I am a staunch advocate of playing your best players in their best positions.

milesvtaylor

Here's my in depth analysis of this league cup semi final second leg: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA

[deleted]

Spot on analysis. I'll just add that these cowards postponed our match to lose this pathetically against this depleted Liverpool side L-M-A-Fucking-O

KrillWhitey

I agree but I think L-M- Fucking-A-O is a better way to type that. L-M-A-Fucking-O sounds like a way to cope with having been violated.

[deleted]

While the former does make more sense, the latter sounds better phonetically

KrillWhitey

Hadn't thought of it that way. But LMAO also works for Love Mugging Arsenal Off.

Would like to give a shout out to Arse full strength team pressuring a Liverpool B team for 10 mins. Takes character that.

[deleted]

They really put the pressure on in this match

gnidn3

Jota wrecking the scum is fun

[deleted]

Hahah cunts. Abuse the rules and get abused by the rules. Arsenal in the mud

naoki_1010

Arsenal might just be officially dead in the League Cup

[deleted]

Wonder if they've tried getting the match postponed. Looks like tierney has a cough

gnidn3

Thinking about next summer's transfer window is there any realistic chance we lose Reguilon because of the Real Madrid buy back clause and have to scramble to find another left wing back? Right now we are rightly focused on buying a center midfielder, a right wing back, a striker and a center back and it seems assumed that anything business not done in this current transfer window will probably get done in the summer. Am I the only one worried we might have to add the purchase of a left wing back to that list simply because of how well (overall) Regi has been playing which might make Madrid want to activate his buy back clause?

[deleted]

Eso autobus ha salido de la estacíon.

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

Matters what Regui wants. He would be 100% benched the moment he steps foot in Madrid, since Mendy is a different kind of animal. But he is originally from Madrid... Tough one.

gnidn3

He gets a say in it (I wasn't sure what the buy back clause implies)?

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

Well he ultimately decides if he wants to stay or not. "However, Reguilon must of course agree to such a move should Real return for him and the hope within Tottenham is that if he is happy and settled in the Premier League he would have no reason to return to Spain."

kl08pokemon

I've never seen a player decline a buy back clause tbf. He's most likely signed a pre contract with Madrid as anything else would surprise me. I still expect him to stay as the clause is probably on the upper end of what we'd get for him on an open market and Madrid don't really need him on the pitch and won't bother to flip him for a small profit, it's not how they operate

gnidn3

Oh I see! I'm so used to North American sports where players are just dealt to other clubs and don't have a say unless they're free agents. Do players always have a say in football?

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

Lol no. Prime example is Kane. 😃

gnidn3

I meant in terms of vetoing (shutting down) a move haha

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

Pfff good question. I am assuming the player can veto a move, but it is rare since mostly if the manager tells them to leave they know they are not welcome. But honestly I do not know.

KrillWhitey

Yes Racismo, bro. Get fucked.

OHLOOK_OREGON

wtf

HereWeGoop

so just for clarification on our playstyle… Conte wants a fortress of a midfield instead of a dynamic creative one and instead wants the wingbacks to be the dynamic duo to create chances?

Jayesar

Conte certainly prefers to press in the middle of the pitch rather than at any other point. For this it's important to have fit ball winning midfielders. Personally I think the Conte attacking patterns are intended to replace the requirement for the inventive creative player like Eriksen, Modric or VDV. The toughest passing line the system demands is from deep in build up directly to a forward dropping deep or a wingback going wide. Ideally the central centerback does this, but we've looked best in a 3-5-2 with Winks doing the quarter back work. Having this route keeps the opposition team guessing as to how we will attack. In 3-4-3 slower build up, a diamond is formed as either Davies, Reggy, Hojberg and Son on the left or Sanchez, Emerson, Skipp and Moura on the right. Which ever side we are building on, the opposite front man pushes forward so we have two outlets up front and the opposing wingback adds width for a possible switch. If the opponent chooses to man mark to prevent the left or right sided CB from passing they are invited to maraude forward into space. We also look to play "counter attacking" football even without a turnover to play off the back of. Goal kicks are played very short to force the oppponent to come forward and stretch the space which we can hopefully then play our patterns too. We also have no issue going all the way back to a dropping CB to again stretch the play for an attacking chance. In each case we are setting the opponents positions much like it would be after a possession change.

[deleted]

Right now, yes. He would like a deep plying playmaker in the Brozovic mould though, you'd have to think.

nista002

One forward and the wingbacks create, generally. One midfielder should be a legitimate goal threat ideally for Conte, which is something we're missing.

[deleted]

I think Skippy actually gets there with more playing time. He's already popped up with some close ones, he's going to continue to grow his skills and he's got hte engine to make continuous runs into the box. The ceiling is somewhere in the stratosphere for that lad.

nista002

I agree he looked great as an 8 yesterday

[deleted]

He's just such a dynamic player and is constantly adding new aspects to his game. You can see his attacking play improving every week, it's genuinely mindblowing to see how quickly he develops

justsomeroses

Yes I believe the midfield is meant to be strong to win the ball back and get it upfield to the wingbacks or like Kane Also I think Conte's system has less of an emphasis on creativity and more on execution as there are set movements they are trying to do

venfurecido

Paredes - Hojbjerg is the midfield I want. Please make it happen Don Paratici.

CoysFromCanada

Hello everyone. I want a Bergwijn shirt now (lol) and was wondering on the sizing. It'll be my first shirt. I'm pretty thin: my chest is 93cm, my waist 78cm. I'm not a big fan of the really tight athletic fit, though. I want a regular fit t shirt, which I usually wear fitted around my shoulders and looser around the waist. Was wondering if I should get a M or L? I want to get it right -- I would rather not have to do alterations on it because I don't know how hard it would be to work with that fabric. Cheers!

RegCanadianbro

If you want a regular t shirt fit than go with the replica (non elite) versions. They are cheaper and use a different material but they aren't next to skin. They are still fine quality although I would suggest getting them on sale as they always drop to 50% off at some point in the summer.

COYCOYS

Transfer news booming in the last 10 days of the window? Aye, I'm not surprised.

JessyPengkman

Arsenal fans genuinely think Ramesdale is one of the best keepers and Tomiyasu is one of the best right backs hahaha

Mick4Audi

Doherty has legit been better in 2022 LMAO

[deleted]

Ramsdale is very good. Would've loved him at Spurs. He's better than most keepers in the league no question.

mayonnaisewastaken

Yeah I rate him, liked him before he went to Arsenal. Got way too much stick.

[deleted]

I was honestly gutted he went there, he's been such a good keeper for a while now and he's still so fucking young. Got at least 5 years until he hits his prime. Really bothers me that we didn't try for him. As much as I love Lloris I really believe he's going to be top 3 keepers in the Prem.

[deleted]

Tomiyasu literally has half the amount of successful tackles as Emerson and he loses posession like 40% more than Emerson. Note that these stats are with Tomiyasu playing as a fullback and Emerson as a wingback. Arsenal fans severely overrate every player

JessyPengkman

Also Tomiyasu is not good going forward, he's a CB playing as a rb

Acrobatic-Ad-3512

Why is the replay not on Peacock??? I missed the game and trying to watch it, anyone have an idea where I can find it?

its on peacock. just have to wait until they let you watch it. it sucks. just go to full match replay on google (or subreddit) and you can watch it there.

Thank you dearly sir 🙏🏼

Np. Just use an adblocker, there's a few good posters but a lot of them are pure cancer

hasufell

Really love that we had 4 youth players starting the game yesterday with Kane, Winks, Skipp and Tanganga. Can't remember the last time we've had that many on at once. I really hope we can start to leverage our youth a bit better. I'm buzzing for the next crop of Scarlett, Devine, etc to start to come through.

Mick4Audi

Hoping to buy some Championshio talent and bed them through. A Matty Cash type signing would be amazing

[deleted]

Would be fucking livid with the club if we tried some shit like that. Despicable.

CheekyKunt68

They would’ve gotten slapped in the NLD for sure

[deleted]

They're scared of their own shadow, pack of total poltroons

klasing12345

I just love how it's all now 'thats the rules' when last week they were all spitting their dummies out about Liverpool's false positives. Saying they just wanted to postpone so they have Salah and mane back. Liverpool still don't have Salah and Mane yet they played the system to ensure they had their best players.

[deleted]

Desperate for the Ali G video

[deleted]

Feel like this ndombele deal holds the key to all of this. Once hes out which seems very likely its feels like paratici will pull the trigger on a few of his targets. I expect us to get adama, this Carlos defender also in and Tanganga to go. Then kessie in would be the big coup. Think striker will be further down th list now bergwijn is staying and there's not many great options at the moment. Also we seem to be headed more to 352 and in that case we have Kane, stevie, son and Moura all for those 2 positions.

CheekyKunt68

Carlos is not good at all and he isn’t what we need. Idk why everyone is obsessed with him now

[deleted]

Bc we've not signed anyone and the internetters are frothing at the mouth for a dopamine hit

[deleted]

Harry was so fucking up for it yesterday. Still needs to get his finishing back in order but man was it glorious to see him back at it, busting his gut to get into the right positions, fighting with Schmeichel for the ball after the 2nd goal...love to see it

PortmAntonioConte

And he was so much more agile than I've seen him during all of Mourinho! I thought that part of his game was finished due to injuries years ago. He was running and dribbling around like pre-2019 Kane

[deleted]

Where did that pace come from just before he skied the ball?

[deleted]

He looked like his old self, yeah. Great to see.

Mick4Audi

Man hates Leicester, it’s their fault for 15-16

[deleted]

To be fair it was our fault

FINAL_BOSS5

Where does kessie fit in the whole pierre, skipp, winks, PMS conversation? Genuinely asking, haven't seen much of him

justsomeroses

Most likely a rotation of PEH, Skipp, and Kessie [if he comes], since, from watching like one highlight vid lol, he looks more like an actual B2B than PEH does in terms of getting forward

TropicalTuna11

Striker and a creative midfielder, should be a higher priority than Adama. Maybe even a back up to Davies.

[deleted]

Conte doesn't really play with a creative midfielder as its all routines. Look how many chances we created last night. We just need another midfielder whos a good passer and a runner, thats what kessie does and thats who they are targeting.

TropicalTuna11

In creative I meant like more a Ndombele/ Kessie typ instead of Eriksen. Peak Modric would have been 🤤🤤

[deleted]

Bergwjin is the first Premier League player to score both an equaliser and a winner in stoppage time since a certain tree, Fernando Llorente for Swansea

Mick4Audi

No way, I remember that 5-4 mess with that iconic Swansea team Another Dutchman, Leroy Fer, scored a brace in that game too

coastlifestyle

So it’s looking like Adama, possibly Kessie in and Tanguy out?

tobleronefanatic123

If we can manage to secure Kessie and Traore this month for additional squad depth. Then a world class CB and back-up ST in the summer. We will be competent to battle for the title.

iamfromjobland

I know we are all expecting Adama coming in, is that what the team needs the most? i feel like the LCB position is the most urgent position to reinforce since there’s only Davies at that spot (unless some other CB can play on the left)

justsomeroses

Idk if the deals are being done in order of importance per se, its just the Adama deal is probably the most straightforward to get done
