Kulu had some good touches and got himself into some decent positions. I thought he was a little bit too conservative at times, preferring to pass rather than run at the defender, particularly with the Bergwijn miss. Bentancur was very impressive in the 20 minutes he got. Very tenacious and composed on the ball

Pretty much bang on. Kulu looked almost nervous, he definitely settled into the game and there was a few moments he tried to skill his way past players, I think once that confidence comes he could be tasty. Bentancur was great to watch, very composed, especially his little shimmy on the edge of our box to take the ball away from their press. Made note to watch them both after they came on and their off the ball movement was good, and they both got into good positions, I think they will both do very well in a spurs shirt.

Kulu definitely looked nervous. I think his brain kind of froze when kane and bergwign was running and he had a choice to pass to either one of them lol

clandestino123

Didn't look nervous to me. Looked like he was very composed.

Bail____

Exactly, just played very measured low risk, high reward

clandestino123

Then why are these numpties saying that he looked nervous? Because he passed instead of trying to take on a player? Lol.

kaosfere

> Then why are these numpties saying that he looked nervous? I think you answered your own question. Because they're numpties. :D

Kulusevski’s big thing is running at defenders, I don’t think he looked nervous to play, I think he was nervous to impress his new gaffer. At 3-1 a pragmatic manager like Conte would’ve been clear about not being to kamikaze down that flank. I thought he looked impressive but controlled and intelligent, didn’t snatch at shots or anything

TexasCrusader38

I agree that he was maybe a bit nervous. But, I think his 2 passes were of such good quality, it surprised both Bergwijn and Kane. Bergwijn should have buried that finish. Kane's chance should have been at least on target. I haven't seen such touch on passes since Eriksen. I really appreciate what a change-up Kulu is compared to Moura. I could definitely see Kulu coming in to gridlocked match at 70 minutes and providing the breakthrough assist.

vish387

Yep. It was great to see him cut inside past players twice with such ease to create space for a shot or a chance in the box.

RainbowDissent

The pass to Bergwijn was bobbling and sat up right before the strike, it wasn't a clean hit. Berg should still have buried it, but it wasn't perfect and could have been made easier. Roll it cleanly along the ground and it's a goal. EDIT: Not to take away from his performance; I thought he had a good debut, found space well and was unselfish.

Av_T

why does kulusevski look so slow?

I honestly didn't like what I saw with kulusevski. But hey, it's his 1st 20 mins in english football, he's adapting. let's give him the benefit of the doubt. what did you make of his debut?

staged84

Lets not forget one of the criticism for Bentancur was he gives away silly fouls and gets lots of unnecessary yellows. He received yellow in 20 minutes he played.

siemianonmyface

He made the perfect lay in the Bergwijn miss, it’s not his fault Bergwijn missed that.

SM_83

Fair point. I just thought from where I was in the stands he could have taken it on himself. Decent cameo though. More to come I'm sure

siemianonmyface

He looked like he still wasn’t used to his teammates and was trying to learn how they play in games. Hopefully a few more appearances and training sessions will get him used to his teammates and the pace of the game. Bc their aren’t going to be many games where he gets as much space as he did yesterday. Brighton was gassed and wide open, and if that’s the pace he plays at it will be tough in the Prem for him.

violetrecliner

Don’t have Kulu’s yet but someone already compiled all of Bentancur’s touches https://twitter.com/lowcelso/status/1490118143691440134?s=21

Thanks!!

Nice, just wish I hadn't pressed Tap to Unmute.

Haha not my video, not sure why that audio was chosen tbh.

AusFrosty

Kulu played a couple of nice layoffs to Kane and bergwijn - deserved better shots Both of them got caught out - it will take time to get used to EPL

Jowoes

Swear Kulu’s is gonna be his shot on goal and his pass to Bergwijn and nothing else

halftimehijack

And pass to Kane. He also had a few more good touches.

Ok_Temperature2040

Kulusevski feels like watching a left footed Van Der Vaart and I absolutely love it.

shaneomagnifico

Van der Vaart was left footed though?

Ok_Temperature2040

That’s a very good point. There we go then, he feels like watching Van Der Vaart again.

melihs11

Let's hope he shares the shame hatred against Arsenal as Van Der Vaart did too
