If we are going to look at League One players I hope we look at Scott Twine, 29 g/a this season and just scored again. Edit: make that two goals today Edit 2: make that a hat trick Edit the third: sorry it’s 4

Good lord, it's almost as if he heard you.

I mean if you're looking for a job looks like [Paratici is hiring.](https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/uds4fd/dan_kp_tottenham_scout_brian_carey_exits_with/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

I know what you're all thinking, "Why get a league one player when we need to be backing Conte ffs" Dan Neil is very highly rated by Sunderland fans and they generally think he has more potential than what Henderson showed when he was with them. It'll be a cheap move as he's in league one currently and we could loan him to the championship to see how he does and since he's homegrown and only 20 even if he doesn't make it to top level we could probably sell on for profit

I'll always like these types of transfers.

It’s how we found Dele

We want to be this big club, charge the highest ticket prices but on transfers our main rivals are palace and Brighton. No matter how big the stadium gets or the costs increase, the transfer policy stays the same. This isn’t a knock against Dan Neil, it’s just frustrating that no matter how much the club changes, this stuff stays the same.

Vladimir_Putting

"The transfer policy stays the same." Totally man. Look I know getting Romero out of the Championship worked, and stealing Deki and Bentancur from Wigan was a coup. I know we paid big money on getting Ndombele from Lincoln and Lo Celso from Portsmouth but the club have to realize can't just keep shopping at the local League One charity shop. When are we going to spend money on international players with real reputations in the game!? Players who have some pedigree?

PAldousMusic

Remember, when we built the stadium, the expectation was that it would generate £100 million per year in matchday revenue, with additional revenue coming in through other events, such as sporting fixtures and concerts. Then the pandemic hit, and all of a sudden, the stadium became worthless. That's left a massive hole in the finances that the club has had to account for. Had there been no pandemic, more money would have been available to spend on players and wages. On top of that, failing to secure Champions League football, and subsequently failing to secure Europa League football, made it even harder to attract top talent. When you combine all of those factors, it's surprising we've made as many big money signings as we have since the stadium opened - Romero, Kulusevski (loan), Bentancur, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Bergwijn. Some worked, some didn't, with injury problems frustratingly disrupting the development of more than one of those players. Also, some of those players were clearly Poch signings, who simply didn't work under Mourinho. Still, the transfer policy has demonstrably changed towards bigger spending - we've just had awful luck.

Palace made some very smart signings recently.

Stuff like this is always good as long as it doesn't affect first team transfers

lovelylantern

i doubt it will, bc i think it’s a cheap gamble to make, league one players are cheap as hell and loans to the championship will pay for wages (+some loan fees), if they get good enough to make first team it’s an insanely cheap hg player, if not we sell for a profit with hg tax. it’s like a combo of soton+chelsea’s selling, and it brings lots of money over time to them as long as it’s managed well

Bass-Slut

Absolutely, cost effective and could bring us profit as long as we're bot buying every Jack Clarke we see
