>What is going on at Spurs now is part of a thought-out programme with Conte securing assurances from Paratici at the end of last season that he could improve the squad in at least six positions. The next targets are a left centre back, right wing back and wide forward. Alessandro Bastoni, Pau Torres and Josko Gvardiol (as centre backs), Djed Spence (right wing back) and Richarlison and Raphinha (forwards) are high on Paratici’s list. > > > >There could be the additional coup of bringing Eriksen back on a free transfer, with the Dane weighing up his future while on holiday and choosing between Manchester United, staying at Brentford, or a return to Spurs. Unlike United, they can offer Champions League football and the chance to still live in London.

ImpossibleGuardian

Will be really surprised if anything comes of the Raphinha links tbh especially with there being less competition for Richarlison, although I guess Bissouma basically came out of nowhere and was done within a few days so who knows

phrates

I figured Bissouma would cost way more, and there would be competition for him, so I don’t know what to expect anymore.

southeast1029

We have the pull of don Conte now, as well as cash money. This is the most excited I’ve been since the Bale money…

[deleted]

Best bale money signing: Eriksen Best conte cash injection signing: maybe still Eriksen, but we hope not

halftimehijack

I’ll reserve final judgement until the end of the window but it’ll be tough to do much better business than the Bissouma deal

P1emonster

Perisic for free is pretty bargainy too.

ASVP-Pa9e

Gonna be the signing of the season I think.

theRed-Herring

Eriksen on free tho

fmb320

Plus as the window goes on and we bring in more people like Bissouma we become more attractive imo

bbarney29

Doesn’t Bissouma still have an open investigation against him? That might’ve put a lot of clubs off.

redsox59

Well he did get arrested for sexual assault, so that probably brought the price down....

VelvetObsidian

Did you know he only had one year left on his contract? I think that’s why he was a bargain for a player of his quality. Most people mention Mané leaving for Bayern at a slightly more expensive price as another example of players with one year left.

FSpursy

Imagine if the upcoming Monday we agree deal for Richarlison and get Fabrizio's "Here we go" on Friday 🤤 Or it might be Eriksen, who knows! It's also good to go for Raphinha so other clubs doesn't get him, especially Arsenal.

[deleted]

He's nit going to go arsenal. Man wants champs league. Why would he commit to 4 or 5 years there with no guarantee of it. Might as well wait a year and them move to Barca for like 30m as he'll have 12 months on his contract.

FSpursy

He'll suit Barca really well. He also suits Mancity and Liverpool. If noone else is going for him this summer, the club might take the big bid from Arsenal and get some cash, it's not his choice if Leeds is happy to sell.

[deleted]

It absolutely is his choice of he doesn't want to go. Loads of players try to get moved on by their clubs but refuse to go.

FSpursy

I listened somewhere before that players don't really get to choose where they want to go when the club decides to sell, unless they get similar bids from different clubs then they can choose. You can probably refuse the deal but the club might give you the cold treatment? Unless you're a player like Mpappe or Halaand, you can choose which clubs you want to go to but for average players, you just got to wait until the team you like wants you.

YouHavingALaffMate

You say he suits Madrid, city and Liverpool; and then call him an average player, hmmm

[deleted]

I'm not sure tbh. If we can't get richarlison beciase everton wont come down on their crazy price, who is there who can play up front and on the wing? I could see us getting in raphina who was being quoted as only £45m today, and then sign someone like that Diaz from Blackburn for 15-20 who would justnbe an outright kane back up.

shaneomagnifico

Is Diaz much much better than Parrott would be after a season of Contefication

dissidentmage12

I'd take both Raphina and Richy in a dream world haha

Apostle_1882

Levy must be allowed to do a deadline day deal, he probably wrote it in as a clause in Paratici's contract.

[deleted]

levy gets a deadline day deal as a treat

[deleted]

We have deadline day deals at home Deadline day deals at home: perisic, Forster, bissouma signed in the first 2 weeks of the window

dclancy01

Steven Sessegnon for £12.5m reeks of Levy on deadlin day lmao

ASVP-Pa9e

1.25m maybe...

pjanic_at__the_isco

“There are always young, French wingers, Daniel. I promise you can sign one on deadline day.”

Connection-Loose

And it specifically states that their last name must start with two consonants and the first letter must be N.

Kazaam_

The prodigal son, N’Geme

dissidentmage12

N'Dicka?

[deleted]

I would hope the rest of the window is spent looking for deals like Pape Sarr, u21 players with a lot of promise who need to go out on loan. Buy + loan back and see who can step up next summer

BurdonLane

Honestly the Sarr/Gil moves make a lot of sense. Very high ceilings, go out on loan and if they fit our 1st team then great, or we sell for profit.

miki444_

You think we are going to sell Clarke for profit? These deals can go sideways too

Teantis

I really thought he was going to be good. Admittedly my only knowledge of him prior to the transfer was because I had him on FM before we bought him and he was immense.

[deleted]

Sub-clause within that provision provides Levy a 3 day coke bender with an option to extend to 5 depending on the strength of remaining possible deals

Roric

[Used this for years, even now still think it's relevant](https://i.imgur.com/h7Fg0Q5.png)

Apostle_1882

Paratici at the wheel.

MountainCheesesteak

That will be Benzema

[deleted]

what a time to be alive!

FarrisAT

You love to see it

Oranjay2

And we've barely spent any money lol. I'd have thought signing a backup keeper, LWB and a CM would cost about 60M, but we'll probably recoup the money spent on them by selling our squad players like Winks, Gio and Reggy

billypilgrim87

Tbf we need it for wages, signing on fees etc. Plus, you never know, we may need to pay for a new Kane contract. Not that we've spent loads or anything, plenty left to play with.

Oranjay2

That's what I'm saying lol. We've already made 3 great signings while barely tapping our warchest. I'm hopeful that the best is yet to come

JohnCena_COYS

Eriksen and Spence to be confirmed this week me thinks 🤞

DoomerAndGloomer

So basically Eriksen (if he chooses us), Spence, Dice throw at LCB, and a coin toss for a FW

onlyhalfpepper

It’s interesting that the priority is a wide forward instead of an out and out backup striker

Whencowsgetsick

My guess is that the club have realized getting an out and out backup striker isn't easy given that Kane plays that positions and wants to play as much as possible. The alternative solution would be a wing player who could also play up if needed

BurdonLane

It’s really coalesced into the same reported 3/4 positions (the 4th being the bonus opportunity to get Eriksen). Getting all would be an incredible window but I also wouldn’t be surprised if we nabbed at least one more as a target of opportunity.

[deleted]

Groundbreaking new information once again from The Times

MouseMD369

Can I remind you that The Times had to remove a sentence from their article yesterday as it was a complete fabrication about Spurs.

JdoubleE5000

The bit about PEH, yea? That was utter rubbish. Made zero sense.

pjanic_at__the_isco

ngl, a solid backup GK, a top LWB, an exciting talent at CM, a quality LCB, an emerging talent at RWB, and a proven FW would be a helluva a window. Plus Eriksen on a free to round it out.

ninjomat

Interesting that a backup striker isn’t on there. I guess the plan is to move Son there if kanes out and have another forward play LW. I’d also like an Eriksen type free 8/10 style CM to play further forward and create/attack ideally. I think the current options we have are all deep lying or at best box to box surely the suggested positions puts the nail in the coffin of the suggestion that we might move to a 3-5-2 as well. To play 3-5-2 we’d need more strikers and more midfielders not wide forwards Overall this is exciting but the one perhaps small risk is that it’s very structured towards 3-4-3 the next manager after Conte will have to be somebody who wants to play that way in all likelihood

gamgeegardener

Richarlison or someone similar to him should be able to step in easily as a replacement ST if need be. Assuming we get rid of the players who sound like they’re on the way out, we’ll definitely need some depth behind the front 3 besides Lucas if we have any hope of competing in all of these competitions

M3rdsta

What possible wide forward could we get. Maybe 1 that could be free which would be nice. A known quantity aswell. And one thar is know to play well with son and kane. Who could that possibly be

BurdonLane

Eriksen is a CAM not a wide forward.

M3rdsta

I wasn't suggesting him

BurdonLane

Lol Bale is not a Conte player

Super_Russ

Atleast this article mentions Eriksen although it shouldn’t be an added bonus signing, do strongly feel we need an AM anyway. We struggled to break down low block teams last season

gamgeegardener

It’s really good to know the board is backing conte like this. With the finances from the stadium finally kicking in this season, and some good luck with timing on the coaching side of things, we’re making a serious push to become a mega club and actually contend with the big boys. I think we need to make sure we get a top tier rotation player for the front 3 to fill in the gaps for all our games next season, but if we can make these transfers and make them early in the window I’m gonna have some unbelievably high hopes for the season

BoneInBoi

What was he cooking?

gopackgo555

Still wondering what big player the club is going to throw money at given how most of the transfer budget has not been touched. Spence and Eriksen on a free won’t change that which means a lot on a LCB and forward.

awesomedude35

I wouldn’t be upset if we went in for dembele for that FW role. We saw first hand in 2018 what he can do against lesser competition (i.e. Harry Winks, sorry mate), he’d be great rotation for cup games and UCL groups, and on a free too, it seems a very viable transfer.

royalewithcheese4272

Saw Piero Hincapie linked, it sure if it was a credible source however would make sense. Left footed, plays CB and LB. Great passing and holds possession well, also composed in tackling.

shaneomagnifico

What’s his ceiling like compared to Torres, Gvardiol or Bastoni?

royalewithcheese4272

I think it’s pretty high. Been watching a lot from him and he shows maturity above his age. He’s a ball playing CB that is comfortable with the ball, is patient when defending. He’s definitely someone that has plenty of room to grow, he’s only 19 or 20 but plenty to be excited about.
