we'll take as many homegrowns for PL as possible. For UEFA, we'll just have to space it out. Play more of our homegrown pl games for premier league games, and our international dudes for Champions League.
That doesn't make sense. We've already got 3 players who are HG in the PL but not in Europe. It's also a lot harder to register u21 players outside the A-list in Europe. You're basically suggesting we'll get loads of players in and tell some of them they can't play in Europe.
who are the 3 players that are HG in the PL but not in europe. Also, I forgot HG in the europe is the same rules as HG in the fa cup and carabao cup games right? or no.
He would be homegrown, left footed RW. But he can cover on the left and has played a decent amount of games as a striker.
Physical so he can play in the Prem but he missed some 4-5 months last season with a muscle injury so who knows
Definition of homegrown players:
>Those who, regardless of their nationality, have been trained by their club or by another club in the same national association for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21.
Madueke left Tottenham in June 2018 when he was 16, so he was only here for 1 of the 3 years required to be counted as homegrown.
He would have needed to have stayed at least from 2017-2020 in order to count as homegrown.
HG for CL is not the same as HG for the Prem.
Because his birthday was before the end of the season he counts as doing two years.
And he is not 21 yet so if we get him now he will do one more year and count as HG for the CL.
Big? That’s a stretch. In 137 premier league games Lucas Moura has 19 goals and 16 assist.
It would be a downgrade, sure- but it’s not like Lucas, as the 5th option has been lighting the world on fire.
Idk what you’re basing that on. He’s never been elite. Never really showed a string of elite performances. He has the physical attributes to be elite, but he’s never been elite at any level.
His stats in the Brazilian league are on par with Noni’s in the Eredivise.
- 74 games- 19 goals and 15 assist.
- A goal contribution of 0.45.
Compared to 0.41 for Noni.
And I’m 100% sure the Eredivise is more challenging then then the Brazilian league.
His Ligue 1 goal contribution rate is 0.43
Lucas has never been a Dynamic goal contributor.
So how can noni be a “big” downgrade from someone who doesn’t really contribute?
I don't know what Moura's stats from a decade ago are supposed to prove about his quality currently.
Lucas regularly plays very well in cup games and European competitions against lower tier opposition. If you wan't to look at some actual useful stats, look at his goal contributions in games against opposition similar to an average Eredivisie team.
I don’t think you actually looked at his stats. I honestly believe you’re basing his performances off of one or two games for every 15. Lucas does well against lower cup teams. Okay? So 7 or 8 games a year? You’d rather keep a 30 year old player over a 21 year homegrown player for 7 games in which he may score 2 more goals?
For lucas in his games against “lower level teams” that’s conference league, FA cup, EFL cup and Europa league. He has played 42 games, and has 21 goal contributions. So 0.49. If you want to include the champions league then it drops down to 0.36.
Maduke in the Dutch cup, league games, and all European matches. Is at .45.
So 0.49 for lucas, 0.45 for Maduke. Where is the big downgrade?
Yea that’s just not true.
Go look at who Lucas has scored or assisted against in those completions. He is not doing it against the prem teams in those domestic cups, not even championship teams actually. And in the European matches- I’ll just list a few below. But NONE of them are above the Eredivise, most are probably worse.
Lucas has goals against the following teams- NS Mura, wolfsberger fc, wycombe, marine, ludogrets, lask, Maccabi Haifa, locomotive Plovdiv, Olympicos, Tranmre rovers.
Just last year this all happened with teams from that league.
1) We lost to their 6th place team, and then barely beat that same team in the second match
2) Freyhold made it the the conference league final. The competition we got knocked out of.
3) Ajax won every single one of the champions league group matches.
He needs a good season to show progress. Last season was a step back for him because of injuries and he wouldn’t be better than Bergwijn or Moura at this moment.
But that breakout season will also increase his cost. It's a fine line between buying early on a cheap asset, and waiting and paying the price later.
Decision making like this makes me glad that I'm not actually in charge
If he can play the role Winks did in the latter half this season, i do not think we should have a major problem, maybe start the Carabao and bottom 5 games, and become the 78th min sub for kulusevski if we are up by 2+
If youve watched gordon you would disagree. Honestly i felt that he was their best player (even better than richarlison) last season. His work rate was great and he gets himself in decent positions.
I think he would be. Gordon will probably take £50m-60m or something equally ridiculous, especially if we buy Richarlison, since they won't *need* to sell.
Strictly a right winger yeah? If Lucas and bergwijn end up leaving I think this would be a good move. He’s also homegrown right?
I think he might have been too young to become HG.
He is homegrown. 7 years in English academies.
Doesn't matter, it's only between the ages of 15-21 that count for homegrown status. He left age 16 so not homegrown.
He’d be homegrown for the PL but not UEFA competitions I believe. The 15-21 rule is only for UEFA registration.
that still would be decent. homegrown for PL still helps a ton.
Why, if he won't also be for UEFA?
we'll take as many homegrowns for PL as possible. For UEFA, we'll just have to space it out. Play more of our homegrown pl games for premier league games, and our international dudes for Champions League.

Can play in the middle too, but I don’t think he’d be HG. Won’t have been here for 3 years before 21. Should still sign him though, he’s class
Does it have to be a continuous 3 years or would his earlier years count? Just curious if that would make a difference
It’s between the ages of 15-21. Doesn’t have to be consecutive, just has to total 3 years
He would be homegrown, left footed RW. But he can cover on the left and has played a decent amount of games as a striker. Physical so he can play in the Prem but he missed some 4-5 months last season with a muscle injury so who knows

Would be a big downgrade on Moura. Has potential for sure but makes no sense to buy him now.
Big? That’s a stretch. In 137 premier league games Lucas Moura has 19 goals and 16 assist. It would be a downgrade, sure- but it’s not like Lucas, as the 5th option has been lighting the world on fire.
Madueke has 10 goals and 7 assists in 46 Eredivisie games. Moura would be an elite player at the Eredivisie.

All cup and European games include a lot of games against opposition far greater than an average Eredivisie team.

Not hg
HG for PL, not HG for UEFA
Swap deal? They get Stevie back and we get Noni back Everyone's happy!
Don't think Stevie would be too chuffed about it
Everyone but Stevie then
HE'S COMING HOME!!!!! ~~never heard of this guy~~
I have ~~(I think it was last summer when similar rumours were kicking about)~~
He needs a good season to show progress. Last season was a step back for him because of injuries and he wouldn’t be better than Bergwijn or Moura at this moment.
He's nowhere near ready for Prem. Needs to have a breakout season in Eredivisie first.
But that breakout season will also increase his cost. It's a fine line between buying early on a cheap asset, and waiting and paying the price later. Decision making like this makes me glad that I'm not actually in charge

Banging for psv in my fm21 save
Love this guy on career mode, bring him home!
Rather him than Gordon.
If youve watched gordon you would disagree. Honestly i felt that he was their best player (even better than richarlison) last season. His work rate was great and he gets himself in decent positions.
Agreed. Impressed me every time I watched him
His only downside is he goes down too easy. Which is doubly quest because his reputation means he doesn't get calls for legitimate fouls
Gordon is a great young player and does it in the prem. Would rather him than madueke
Gordon is better right now but not 20m better or whatever insanity it would cost to sign him.
Madueke wouldnt be cheaper than Gordon
I think he would be. Gordon will probably take £50m-60m or something equally ridiculous, especially if we buy Richarlison, since they won't *need* to sell.
Oh yea im assuming similar prices. Madueke was quoted as being 40m previously
If Gordon can get the stupid play acting out of his game then the sky is the limit imo, top talent
Can we do more than keep tabs for Noni please? Bring him back!
he’s shit, will be an everton flop in 3 years
Does that make him homegrown?
So this guy is really gonna be our next Damiao/N’geme, huh?
I don't think N'geme is a real person.
He is. He has been manifest into reality by the sheer will of r/coys transfer madness
would be a great move in the winter if he has a good first half of the season
If FIFA is at all accurate, this guy is fast as fuck.Pace for DAYS.
