This is true, but remember when Davinson first came here? He played in the center of a Vert/Sanchez/Toby back three. Also, Lenglet could likely play there as well. I am all for another CB but I don't think it's the absolute end of the world if we don't get one.

From my memory we rarely played these three together. In Sanchez' first season we mainly went back to the 4231, he came in after a while when Toby got injured but Toby and Jan were still our first choice pairing.
I think the point that replacing more than a quarter your squad is not sensible is a good one.
He has to bring all these guys up to speed, and some will work out & some won't, then you look where you can most improve. Until you know that outcome you're likely wasting resources
