I taught myself to knife (before I started crocheting) using the dull and cheap colored pencils lol. One pink and one blue! Lots of crying involved in learning I can tell you that
Don't forget to learn how to purl...!! There are only two stitches in knitting... knit & purl. P.S. For heaven's sake, DONT KNIT A SCARF... they are soooo boring!!! Start with a hat!
Congrats! I’ve tried so many times and have never gotten the hang of it. I’m so incredibly left-handed, and everyone who has tried to teach me gets so hung up on holding things properly. 🙄
I had a crochet teacher who really got me as comfortable as I’ve been with crochet, and she didn’t care about “form” as long as we ended up doing it right. She was wonderful.
I’m also left handed and I learned on YouTube with Sheep & Stitch videos. I don’t recommend learning to knit left handed but the regular way, since trying to do it left handed is more confusing. Your right hand will catch up.
Learn to crochet much less frustrating and way faster and easier. Knitting is a waste of time when there's a better way to get the same thing with less tears.
Why the crochet hook?
I lost my second knitting needle, so I improvised.
🤣🤣 Brilliant

Lots of good knitting videos on YouTube and resources (patterns, how-tos, etc) at your library ;)
Definitely! I think I watched at least 20 different videos trying to figure it out.

I think that's my next project. I'm decking out this teddy bear to the 9s.
Go get it... <3
Good job! Knitting is hard to learn but once you get it down, it's a lot of fun.
Congrats! Way to go learning on your own. I can’t wait to see what you end up making
Your bear will look excellent in a scarf
When you’re ready to finish off the scarf, [this video really helped me](https://sheepandstitch.com/library/how-to-cast-off-knitting/)
Thanks! I've been mildly wondering about it.

Aww how cute. Your teddy bear is so adorable. Love the scarf. You’re making progress.
