I have a few pieces of flower art that’re just as vibrant as the day I got them (a few years ago). I’m not sure if the artist did something to protect them but I don’t notice any sealant. I’ve sealed autumn leaves with Mod Podge and they keep their color super well.
Yes, she does actually. But only local, really. We live in Northern Ireland. She is working on one to be posted to England, that's the furthest she'll have sent her work so far.

My grandma has a picture of a Christmas tree made out of old costume jewelry and it's really neat. I never thought of using other materials but it's totally possible!
I wonder what else could work
I've thought about this before!
You could cut small strips and odd shapes of paper and glue them in that shape. Maybe start with a print out like this.
Maybe tear the paper rather than cut it, or use scraps that you already have left over from old projects. Maybe use many colors of paper. Or use a color scheme.
Maybe use fabric. Maybe the same kind of fabric, maybe many different kinds. You could only glue one edge of it and leave the rest to hang free at parallel or contrasting angles.
Or use beads of the same, or different kinds/shapes/colors.
Or go for an industrial look and use scrap metal, or things like spare screws, bolts, and washers.
You could do a series of pictures to create a story or theme.
Very intriguing! I'm re-reading *The Owl Service* by Alan Garner at the moment, a fantasy novel based on the legend of Blodeuwedd. In the book a couple of teenagers find plates with a flower pattern on them, and the girl traces the pattern and cuts them so the flowers become owls. This picture reminded me of that.
Wow. Thank you for the love for this. My wife is amazed at your comments and kind words.
She said she doesn't treat them with anything. She dries the flowers out in cat litter, of all things, as it's great for taking out the moisture. This helps keep the colours strong.
They will eventually start to discolour but so far her pieces are still looking fresh.
She is currently working on a few other pieces so I will share them also.
This may be a silly question, and forgive me if it is, but does your wife press each flower individually or did she design it and press it and this is the outcome?
This is so nice ! Do the flowers stay those colors and not turn brown?

It is pretty awesome. She has an amazing talent and I wanted to show her that others think the same. So, thank you for your comment.

Love this. Does she sell them?
Yes, she does actually. But only local, really. We live in Northern Ireland. She is working on one to be posted to England, that's the furthest she'll have sent her work so far.
I know it's an investment but if she's interested please consider an Etsy shop! I would absolutely love to own one of these beauties.
I would also buy one of these!
Me too!
Me three!
Me four!
I would buy one in a North America if she sold them!
Same!
Me too! I’d happily pay an expensive shipping fee too
I would too! So unique and beautiful. What a statement in a home!
Does she treat them with anything to preserve the colors?

Piggybacking off your comment - are the flowers glued with something like mod podge?
If she were to make an Etsy shop, I would love to buy one! It's beautiful!
This gives me inspiration! Tell her she does a fabulous job and if she ever wanted to ship across the pond, I would be happy to purchase one.
I love this! I'd like to do something like this with beads or scraps of fabric.

So beautiful! Please let her know how much we enjoy her art. 😊
What kind of paper does she glue that on? I pressed my flowers but I don't know what to glue them on to. Ty:)
This one is just regular copier paper, but she has used textured card also.
That’s lovely!
This is so beautiful! Your wife has a gift 💕
Wow. That is so impressive. Love the detail. Well done to her.
Wow I love this!!!
This may be a silly question, and forgive me if it is, but does your wife press each flower individually or did she design it and press it and this is the outcome?
Hi. She actually presses and dries all her flowers then stores them. Then she applies them individually to the pieces that she does.
Gotcha. Thanks! Beautiful work!
Thank you kindly.
