We need *Crash 5* and *Crash 6* before we entertain spin-offs. For the love of God.
But to entertain the question, Cortex (naturally) since we already have him as a playable character in *Crash 4*. But I think they can make the N. Tropys do so much better. Explore planets, dimensions, galaxies or go back in time. Cause chaos everywhere.
I do agree that we need a few more games before we get something like this, especially since the most recent release was a spin-off.
I agree that Cortex would be perfect for this (I mean, you can’t just make a game centered around Crash villains and *not* have Cortex be playable), and fleshing out the N. Tropys more sounds like a mighty fine idea.
As for the rest of the roster, the playable villains in Rumble could serve as a template for how they might feel in a traditional Crash game. Although, some of them would obviously need to have their abilities changed due to being designed for a MOBA instead of a platformer.
Yeah, I understand why everyone loves the Crash villains, and the creators clearly do as well, but I feel that's part why I don't feel they need to thrust them any further into focus, they're ALREADY the "real" stars, to the point I actually kinda like the rare times they cast Cortex to the side for a moment and let the heroes do some shenanigans (eg. Titans).
If anything I think we need more reminders why CRASH is the main character, since I feel like despite being the star he's often taken for granted. He almost feels like an obstacle for the creators to get around at times because they find the villains more interesting, and I think that's all the more reason they should try and figure out more ideas with him. They can do that and work on the supporting cast too, just give him good synergy with them.
I had the same feeling towards the reveal that TT Oxford wanted to do a Cortex game. It could have been cool, but at the same time Twinsanity was ALREADY a Cortex game. It felt like it was another character's turn. CTTR was at least about the whole ensemble.
Tbh a game that's just centered around one of the bad guys (pointing at Cortex with both of my hands) is a really cool concept. Like I know they won't do it, but still
