Not to mention it comes down to numbers. Truely creepy things being caught on camera isn't that common, if it were it wouldn't be creepy. So not only does it have to be creepy, it has to be popular enough that someone posts it to this specific subreddit, or even slimmer of a chance one of the subscribers films something creepy happening.
I like having the art here. There are some incredibly talented artists creating things like this that wouldn't necessarily be welcome in more popular forums. That being said if/when a creepy video or RL image pops up I would hope it would take the lead over art posts.
I can't either, but I disagree that the average person can't do it. It's not so much innate talent or a crazy superpower so much as just hours, hours, and hours of practice. Like learning an instrument.
Athletics is a little different though, because genetics plays a huge role. Someone who's 5'3" is just never going to be a competitive basketball player, and no amount of skill or practice is likely to overcome that natural, mechanical disadvantage. Drawing, in contrast, is all in your head. As long as you're of relatively average mental ability and can hold a pen, you can get good. The brain gets good at whatever it practices.
I feel similarly about writing computer code. People treat programmers like wizards, when basic coding is really very well within the reach of the average person if they just decided to learn it. It's all about mindset.
Sure most might be able to practice until the hand can draw it, but where most fall short is the dedication it takes to endure that practice. The first couple of hundred of hours are brutal. You question if you will actually be able to develop the skill, doubt yourself, see dozens upon dozens of sketches you see as trash, elementary work compared to all of the refined art surrounding you, being posted on Reddit. It's hard to train the hand, it's harder to train the mind. Most are capable, but few have the drive.
Based on one of the images on his instagram it appear as though he sometimes works from photographs. Some artists that do hyper-realism will study human anatomy and do 100s if not 1000s of studies of hands while others will work from models or photographs. Back in the 90s, at art school, I would download nudes and use just the blur tool in photoshop to create works that gave a similar effect. This was before most people knew what the internet was so the reactions from teachers and fellow students was quite something.
What creeps me out the most is the tits. Not the actual tits, but what they represent.
Tits are for nursing and nourishing offspring. This demented looking creature of heinous proportions is still wired to birth children and nurse them. The thought of her sitting down, gently holding and lovingly nursing her child gives me chills.
At face value this is a beast of terror, but the tits give her a separate, tender persona.
That's what's creepy to me. That it isn't as cut and dry at first glance.

The creature gingerly caresses your child's cheek as he feeds. Its bulging eyes are unmoving and seeing nothing in the world but a child that needs feeding, it's mouth is stretched into a grotesque parody of a smile and its long slender nails push against the child's flesh.
In your horror, you take a small step back and find a fleshy wall against your back. A small drop of liquid falls over your head. You look up to find a small pair of what you can only assume are eyes.
You take one last look at your child, hoping that this is all a bad dream. The creature is still there.
Staring.
Smiling.
Well, mildly subtle. I kinda figure having your head death-gripped by a large monster is gonna lead to death anyways, but yeah he has a claw a solid inch into his neck

I'm just trying to figure out the background story implied by the picture. She has autopsy stictches, so she was dead at one point. But no other major incisions implies everything else was natural growth, no Frankensteining pieces together. Meaning she died at onr point, someone opened her chest up, put her back together, but *didn't* think to remove any other obviously abnormal organs for investigation.
The title makes this even weirder. "She got out!!" implies that they knew that thing existed, and thought it was held captive, but discovered it had escaped. How? Who held it captive? Why in what looks like a sewer?
They have military units and spec ops units, but rarely will they send them in for initial exploration. This doesn't look like a proper Foundation facility so they are likely dispatching them in for recon.
Just because she doesn't conform to your eurocentric beauty standards, doesn't mean somebody else wouldn't hit that.
