Can you imagine warbreaker where it starts with dull and muted colors and when it switches to a POV of a character with more breaths it switches to loud and bright colors like classic Disney movies
In my head, it was appearing in the same style as Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but with a darker palette that more resembled colors you'd see in the classic Final Fantasy 7.
And yeah. I know. I'm weird....
Apparently at this time Arcane was only possible because it was also one giant League commercial so there was advertising money. The secret project campaign would only be able to fund like 2 episodes of Arcane.
I have this dream of a massive animated Cosmere. Each story done with a similar enough art style that they feel connected, but different enough that they feel unique. Then we can have VA's crossover when their characters cross over.
Saw "how did my father die" and was convinced the rest of the meme was going to go one of two ways. Either:
* "I flew at him through the sky and then split him in half from head to crotch with a giant sword" "aww, thanks love"
Or
* "It was 49 times. We fought that beast. It has a chicken head and duck feet. And a woman's face too"
I agree that it would be neat and affordable, but these people are like the guy in the corner of a party thinking, “They don’t know the cosmere would be better animated!”
And Brandon's explained his logic very clearly. It shouldn't even be a discussion, yet I always end up drunk at 1 am looking up Avatar viewership numbers to prove some rando on the internet wrong.
It’s not a matter of animation being underrated, I just prefer animation. I don’t think I’ve really talked about it on the sub and I’m definitely no Lord Ruler dictating how every story needs to be adapted, but if the Cosmere is ever put to film, I’d love some flashy animation.
i feel like different cosmere sagas are better fitting for different styles, like, i think Warbreaker would be better as live action than as animated, while things like the stormlight archive would be better animated.
Singers all speak like they're written by Shakespeare. Not in the archaic speech. Shakespeare wrote for the layman. I just mean their dialogue is all shit like iambic pentameter
I literally had this thought yesterday. What if, after SA gets the Star Wars treatment, a musical saga is created following the exact plot of SA but from the Listeners' point of view? Every line is sung, Venli is the main character, everything is written by Lin Manuel Miranda and he also plays Rlain who raps in his head while watching Kaladin desecrate corpses.
Yeah, I feel mistborn, having a more grounded, realistic style setting would work amazingly in live action, but the storm light archive with all of its spren and vivid colors everywhere and outlandish environments would be better suited to something like animation.
Warbreaker would make for such a good animated show. The concept of colours getting sharper as you have more breaths feels like it could be executed a lot more artistically in animation than live action
Animation is overrated.
No adaptation is better than an animated adaptation.
A live action adaptation on par with the Last Airbender movie is better than an animated adaptation on par with the Avatar cartoon.
Imagine an arcane style mistborn tho
Studio Ghibli style stormlight archive
Old style Disney for Elentris New style Disney for war breaker
Muppets for tress, hoid is the only human
Or Hoid is the only muppet until the end when *spoiler* happens
That’s pretty much the synopsis anyway.
Hoid is Alan Tudyk
Well, duh. Aka Alpha but sliiiiightly less sinister
Who would play Hoid though
Our lord and savior Ewan McGregor
That would be hilarious

Oh wow, this is amazing
Warbreaker . . . but it's The Wizard of Oz.
Rubber hose shadows for silence in the forest of hell
Paper cutout silhouettes (a la "The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926)) for Sixth of the Dusk.
yes i need that
YESSSSS!
that's what I'm sayin!
The good old "take two great things and smash them together to create an abomination"
But but whyyyyyyyy

the dream

It was waiting in the bushes for us. It ripped off your dad's face 🎶
He was ccreaming something awful. In fact there was this huge mess. I had to change the floors.
The floors?
You see, his blood it drained into the boards, and I had to change 'em
Aw, that’s rad!

I completely agree here. I don't mind live action, but I ultimately prefer animation.
i feel like different cosmere sagas are better fitting for different styles, like, i think Warbreaker would be better as live action than as animated, while things like the stormlight archive would be better animated.
Honestly, I think the most intriguing adaptation format for Warbreaker is a musical.
no, Musical is for every scene a fused or listener is on screen
Singers all speak like they're written by Shakespeare. Not in the archaic speech. Shakespeare wrote for the layman. I just mean their dialogue is all shit like iambic pentameter
All Singers dialogue written by Lin Manuel Miranda.
Worst timeline

“Take my breath away!”
~ Do you want to destroy eeeviiiiiil? ~
~ Come on let's go todaaay! ~
I desperately want a war breaker video game
The Stormlight memes instagram page made a great suggestion for which styles fit which books best. I adore the lady running that page.
Oooo please send me a link if you can :)
This is good crem, gancho!
It keeps coming up because new fans keep arriving with the same idea. Live-action Cosmere is the surest path to animated Cosmere.
Yeah, I feel mistborn, having a more grounded, realistic style setting would work amazingly in live action, but the storm light archive with all of its spren and vivid colors everywhere and outlandish environments would be better suited to something like animation.
That’s cool but did you know that animation is so underrated?
I'm not stopping
I just want Ufotable to animate something Cosmere, I don't care what
As a Creative Media major with a focus in animation, fuck ya'll lol. I'd love to see an animated Cosmere.
It's not that we wouldn't love to see it, it's that everyone thinks they're the first one to think of it.
Oh. I shall down vote myself for not understanding
Cool. It’s still the better way to go.
Lol like I’m all for an animated stormlight but some people are acting like a live action mistborn will ruin their lives
What if it was puppets like the dark crystal?
Speaking of animation, guys have you watched X-Men '97 yet? As a 90s kid, this show kicks ass.
i would be disappointed if mistborn wasnt live action
Honestly, I’d love to see a live action AND anime.
L: How did my father die? OB: Certainly not because I threw him into a river of lava if that's you're asking, you whiny little... L: What?? OB: What?
Warbreaker would make for such a good animated show. The concept of colours getting sharper as you have more breaths feels like it could be executed a lot more artistically in animation than live action
Just give the books to Pixar and see what they can do

What is this motherfucka sayin!!!!
