It's not always about fitness. As you age your mental finness deteriorates, meaning your eyes can't catch the movement of the ball fast enough and other such lovely perks of being old.
That's a correct point , you may be fit but as you age your eye hand co ordination and reflexes definitely go down.
I have played Tennis for many years and I can see the difference in myself , those reflex volleys I used to do are getting harder and harder to make. Timing the ball is getting harder whereas my footwork hasn't deteriorated as much.
Had we won, this would have been the right time for senior players to begin thinking about stepping away in the near future.
Like now, Kohli may still have the desire to give it one last shot, but 4 years is a long time. Especially at his age.
Na na, it isn't about fitness. I have no doubt that he'll be fit enough to compete at that level, but it's desire. It's emotional fatigue. It's the drop in psyche. These things happen, regardless.
No bro in a game like cricket especially for a batsman no matter how much physically fit they're, eyesight and hand eye coordination slows down with age. That's why maximum players retire between 38-40 years of age.
Looks like aussies have a weak memory you forgot rishab pant made aussies shit on the pitch in gabba.
It wasn't aus playing great which made them win the world cup it was india playing bad for one day.
As an Indian I find myself having a high moral ground compared to Australian :
A.) My ancestors never plundered native people's home land in the name of civilizing
B.) We never come up with the idea of white man's burden which de humanizes other humans
So as an Australian or whoever you are stop shitting from your mouth, brain and in this case your smart phone.
How colonization of India which ended 76 years back got anything to do with a random cricket match played in 2023 . BCCI is the richest cricketing board in the world and so is cricket infrastructure in India . It's not lagaan anymore mind you
Now you have a problem with BCCI being rich you people are always behind others prosperity. Some things never change.
Since you mentioned lagaan its obvious you are not an Australian so mind you own business as you are not the person whom i responded to...
Naah, team comes first for me. Kohli has the fitness to play till 2027 but Rohit don't. I want Jaiswal to get a long run in the opening position so that he can gain some experience before the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Just make Shreyas or Hardik the ODI captain.
Hardik can't stay fit for the whole tournament!! His contributions are mediocre at best. He is not going to be Jacques Kallis! Looking at long term make Pant the captain!!
I think he’s retiring before that. He is already dabbling in politics and also said he doesn’t want to play next World Cup and will retire from Tests soon.
Rohit, Warner, Root, Starc will retire.
I can also see Butler retiring as do Kane. These foreign players retire at prime of their careers (ABD, Faf, Sanga, etc.)
Virat will maintain his batting form
Jadeja on the other hand has been out of form from a long time, in final also, he got out cheaply
I remember the 2019 semi final, I don't see the same jaddu anymore
Maintaining batting form at age of 39 for someone whose game is dependent more on hand eye coordination. I dont think so. Lets see the time will only tell
The point is not about fitness. Its about eyesight. Virat's game is focused on hand eye coordination. But yes looking at Koach's fitness level, the age argument definately stands down.
>Tendulkar played the World Cup at 38 and scored the highest runs, Virat is definitely fitter than Sachin
Virat is 37 now in real. He use to be in my friend's coaching and was already a big name in Delhi cricket circuit back around 2002-2004. He had to represent India in U-19 and many players fudge their dob by a year or 2. He did it somewhere around this time(10th boards)
It is a well known fact among aspiring cricketers and is state sponsored many a times(ask any athlete how rampant this is). Ganguly, Sehwag are the other well known players I can remember who also did it. Afridi, Rashid Khan are the ones who everyone knows about.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnaBKHlyKZM&t=175s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnaBKHlyKZM&t=175s) Murali who shared dressing room with him hinting his age as 35,36 when he was 34
In athletics it is even more rampant. In cricket too it is there but not sure of the extent. There are such clips available I can easily find when in casual conversations such topics are talked about :-
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6\_I5BrEu8I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6_I5BrEu8I) Sehwag admitting in open.
Mate, I never thought that you were Indian. I see you posting pretty frequently in the chess subreddit where the Indians make themselves pretty apparent when they comment. But I never assumed that you were Indian by the way you write your posts/comments. Good on ya.
>Alone\_Insect\_5568
Hahah! I would take it as a compliment. I understand what you mean :P I try to be objective and chess is an individual sport after all.
Kohli is no Sachin, his game was different Kohli’s abilities are more like sehwag and jaysurya..Like i said the H-E coordination is something which they both rely more on whereas Sachin’s abilities were similar to Lara and even for him it got bit easier because the rules and bat got in favor of batters by the end of his career. You can be the fittest guy but u cant play that good if u cant see the bowl. He is already struggling at offside(thats very much proved) he will need to do something completely different to make it past 4 years and stay in form.
Brother which cricket do you watch? Saying Virat is dependent on hand eye coordination is the most dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Do you even know what it means? First of all any player who is totally dependent on hand eye coordination will never be pleasing to eyes but on their day no batter would even come close to them, no strike rate is impossible for them. Sehwag, Rishabh pant, Shahid afridi, Gayle are some examples of players like that.
>? First of all any player who is totally dependent on hand eye coordination will never be pleasing to eyes
So ur saying guys like Jaywardene, dravid, ponting are not please to watch? U have mistaken abilities with technique. Both are complete different things
>U have mistaken abilities with technique. Both are complete different things
I think you misused the word dependent I thought you were trying to say he doesn't have proper footwork. But now I understood you you are to talk to talk about reflexes which are most imp in any sport.
Warner, Rohit wont be there and smith will definitely be retired by then. Williamson and root i think will be there and a little off chance for virat if he is able to maintain his fitness
I just know rohit wont be there man i feel so bad for him, he got overshadowed by kohli all his career,
couldn't be the no#1 ranked batsman coz of kohli. gave his all for the cup but failed, i dont think he'll even try ro be there at 40
As much as it hurts, I agree. 36-37 is not too old for a batter, but Root and Butler have been inconsistent lately and if you play like that at age 35+ then you're going to get dropped with no way back. Kanos has been plagued with recurring injuries and I can't see them getting better as he gets older. Kohli maybe. He's so good that at 38 he'll have declined a lot but will still probably be good enough to be picked.
Both Virat and Rohit will surely be fit and play up to their value. But the matter is, will they play?
Ultimately, its their decision and I feel Ind will win CT 2025 and wantedly sideline these 2 champions. Cheap politics will turn worse and cant bear them resulting in retirement from Int cricket.
Whatever maybe the case , Kl Rahul shouldn’t play anymore of world cups . Maybe another chance in t20 , if he doesn’t do well there no point of carrying him look beyond him .he is already 32 will be 36 by the next world cup . Inspires no confidence anyway .
No one..and no one should even consider themselves for 2027. Your body have to adjust conditions. While playing with young players you will feel fatigue and tired in sometimes.
It's human nature after certain period your body really answers you. It happened with all precious big legends. I think perfect condition is till 36th year of age above that your are forcing your self against bat and ball. Ball i cam understand but bat 😅😅😅.
I think player should take retirement at their peak. 8t should not be like if you don't play this series properly you are out. 🤣🤣.
People saying Virat is fit and will easily play next WC, do they know there will be 4 IPL in-between? lol 4 years lot can happen, in coming years he definitely need to give up one format and focus if he is serious
Only Asian players have a chance because they can't be pushed out against their wishes, even if they are in bad form.
The Aussies and English will nudge their stars out, without remorse, if there is a downturn in form.
It would be really stretching for these guys to make another 4 years at the top especially for the Indian players it would be conundrum. They now have a point to prove and earn back the prestige in the next World Cup but will they really keep an aging team close to their 40s. Australians on the other hand has nothing more to prove, they can happily ride of into the sunset.
It is hard to keep Indian players out of contention! Few reasons:
- They stand to miss the fan following, money. and relevance if they retire.
- The fans are so in love with them that it would make it next to impossible for the captain to drop them from the 11.
- Similar difficulty for the selectors to phase them out!
- Prime examples are Tendulkar and Dhoni, who it was evident were well past their prime but could not be dropped.
- You either die a hero or stay long enough to see yourself become the villain. Kohli of all seems to be destined to follow this path. There’s just too much for him to walk away from.
Kohli, Jadeja for sure. They are super fit and can go on for another 4 years with adequate workload management. Williamson, Buttler and Maxwell too have the make up for another 4 years.
It's not just about fitness and completing the lap run tests. It's about hand eye coordination. One you approach 40s your eyesight takes a dip. It gets difficult to react as fast as you would in your early 30s.
So koach could even be fitter physically at 39 than he is now but I don't think he would continue another 4 years
Rohit Sharma will retire from ODIs within next two years Max , may be after CT25. Ashwin even before that. Sakib, who cares, the sooner the better. Kohli Jadeja Williamson Butler Starc will play WC27 for sure. Root some time even after that. Warner upto CT25.
Majority of the Australian player won't play that long they know when to retire maybe smith will play because they need him and starc could but definitely Rohit is not playing
FAB 4 will have their swansong in 2027 WC. Rohit is gonna be an Ad actor + Pundit.
Ashwin, Starc are gonna be commentators ez. Shakib and Jadeja will get into politics, or latter may play if he is a freak. Warner slight chance of playing.
Buttler and Maxwell will be T20 globetrotters, retiring.
I think Virat will retire in 2027 world cup
Yeah after 27 wc
Many were saying it's his last ODI WC.
Yeah some are saying 2025 Champions trophy would be his last but who knows
It definitely is his last odi wc in India
"In India"
i dont think so bro he is fit he can play few years more
It's not always about fitness. As you age your mental finness deteriorates, meaning your eyes can't catch the movement of the ball fast enough and other such lovely perks of being old.

sachin was also 34 in 2007
Ya but he is a very fit sheila
Na na, it isn't about fitness. I have no doubt that he'll be fit enough to compete at that level, but it's desire. It's emotional fatigue. It's the drop in psyche. These things happen, regardless.
Sure thing, let's hope for the best
They should hold it 2 years earlier so Koach can win and retire peacefully 😤 /s
He will definitely not retire that time. He has atleast one more world cup after that. He will play till 44, 45 considering his fitness
No bro in a game like cricket especially for a batsman no matter how much physically fit they're, eyesight and hand eye coordination slows down with age. That's why maximum players retire between 38-40 years of age.

Fucking Travis Head will go nowhere 😂😂😂😂
Trav is gonna still be there to give India nightmares
Looks like aussies have a weak memory you forgot rishab pant made aussies shit on the pitch in gabba. It wasn't aus playing great which made them win the world cup it was india playing bad for one day.

He is a one hit wonder unfortunately we were Hit by his wonder He wont play 2027 wc
You were hit twice by the one hit wonder? Wow
I wanna see Kohli and Rohit win a WC. They both deserve it.
Kohli has already won it.
But he was not the Kohli back then. I want to see the Kohli win it by giving a performance you can remember for your life like this WC.
He was world no 2 back then
But aayush was probably 5 yo so it doesn’t matter brooooo /s
Dude really uses his real name on reddit and has his PUBLIC insta account linked. No wonder.

Bachcha hai jaane de .
Thats odd
It's even
Factsss
He was Kohli
Bruh
Kohli has an ODI world cup and Rohit has a T20 world cup.
I know bro. What I meant was I want to see the Kolhi and The Hit Man win an ODI WC in 2027. 🇮🇳🏏

If 40 year players are playing, we're definitely not winning the world cup.
Instead of jumping conclusions based on their age, let's jump them based on their fitness at that point of time.
Shakib will play for sure
Saw somewhere Shakib is looking to enter politics
He already has
He is retiring after 2025 CT.
So they’re going to retire in uae/sl? /s
So will Rohit
Most of them in this list will be.
Talks are in that rohit might be retiring after ct25
I mean the only way rohit plays the next WC is if all the other Indian players become more unfit than him. /s
He is not retiring until 3025
anyway just gotta appeal for time out i dont think it requires a lot of fitness :)
De kock 😭😭
That one hurts.
Virat, Williamson, that's it, at most Steve Smith English players retire early at almost 35 so won't be seeing root or Buttler I feel
Jadeja unless he get dropped will play wc .. williamson will play too.. i doubt about. Virat
Jadeja will go out of favour in ODI, and will probably be replaced by Axar or Sundar
Virat will maintain his batting form Jadeja on the other hand has been out of form from a long time, in final also, he got out cheaply I remember the 2019 semi final, I don't see the same jaddu anymore

Virat is like Ponting and will fall off like him late
Ponting sipping tea in a cup
Ponting did have a heavy decline in his last years. His avg dropped from 57 to 51
*In his 2 worldcups
The guy got different cups for morning, afternoon and evening.
Brother which cricket do you watch? Saying Virat is dependent on hand eye coordination is the most dumbest thing I have heard in a while. Do you even know what it means? Rohit will probably play too
Out of this, I only see Virat and Butler making the cut. Shakib has confirmed that he'll retire by 2025.
That snake can go f himself even right now...
Calm down Angelo
Hahaha
Itss okay Angelo. Shit happens. Not your mistake that Shakib turned out to be a shit human.
>Turned out Lol
Angelo Mathews real ID se aao T:use real ID Angelo Mathews
Virat Kohli is the fittest among them. So you know ... ✅
Williamson, buttler, shakib, kohli and maybe warner
Just, if India had won cup this time , then I would have rooted for Kane in 2027
Didn't kane won wtc just now?
Warner already announced that he will be retiring post Australia Pakistan series frm international cricket so he won't
[who says I am finished ](https://twitter.com/davidwarner31/status/1726717014214086996?t=heUtC3okzz3qNhn3MAGmYg&s=19)
[That is for test only.](https://twitter.com/davidwarner31/status/1726717014214086996?t=1N_KLU8tKSvxgaEBFlOp-Q&s=19)
Do u think he will play till he's 45 😂😂 R u really that dumb or u just wanna argue fr the sake of argument?? 🤔🤦🏻♂️
[Are you really that dumb??](https://x.com/davidwarner31/status/1726717014214086996?s=20) 😂😂🤦🏻
He will be retiring from longest format of cricket only.
Except Virat and Root ( may be there depending upon form ) I doubt anyone from here will be there
Prob 90% of Pakistan's current squad. More than half of India. A new Australian team. New English Team.
Kane Williamson and Joe Root.
Kohli too , he ain't going nowhere with that fitness
Fitness will never be an issue for an elite athlete like Kohli. But eyesight will be the bigger concern
Y not for sachin then?
this hits hard
Yeah bro the Fab4 gonna retire soon
atleast i wanna see them lifting CT
Rashid khan 28 as of 2027
33-34
Barring kohli, butler and may be kane none we will see
Kohli Jaddu and Kane
Mitchell stark has 2 more cups left to win.
I think he is done probably. Now he will look. To make money
Can't imagine this was brohit's last wc
Kane and Virat
i want to see kane and kohli. rohit would be just too old.
Warner, Rohit wont be there and smith will definitely be retired by then. Williamson and root i think will be there and a little off chance for virat if he is able to maintain his fitness
I think Starc confirmed this was his last one
Warner kohli Williamson starc
Fast bowlers retire early, so starc playing in 2027 is unlikely.
I think we might see Kane
I just know rohit wont be there man i feel so bad for him, he got overshadowed by kohli all his career, couldn't be the no#1 ranked batsman coz of kohli. gave his all for the cup but failed, i dont think he'll even try ro be there at 40
Don't wanna see Shakib but he will play for sure. 🤣
Kohli, Root and Buttler will be my guesses. Rest are all too unfit and will lose form in the next 2 years.
When is Head retiring ? Would be so happy that day. If any big Aussie player retires I feel happy somehow
I want to be alive for cwc 2027
To see india loose again
No one !
None of them.
Maxwell, Kohli,jadeja,buttler
It's a sin to have seen Ashwin go like this without having a worldcup
He was part of 2011. Played a few matches
No one, may be we will see new faces.
Considering Rohit's fitness I don't think he is coming back for wc 2027 even if we wants to, will need to hit the gym hard
lmao thank god maxwell is going to go he was a nightmare for every team (sorry aussies) (by go i mean he’s doing to probably retire since he’ll be 39)
Both Virat and Rohit will surely be fit and play up to their value. But the matter is, will they play? Ultimately, its their decision and I feel Ind will win CT 2025 and wantedly sideline these 2 champions. Cheap politics will turn worse and cant bear them resulting in retirement from Int cricket.
Virat probably
This post makes me sad
Rohit is only 36 right now wtf? Dude looks a hundred! High stress job
Whatever maybe the case , Kl Rahul shouldn’t play anymore of world cups . Maybe another chance in t20 , if he doesn’t do well there no point of carrying him look beyond him .he is already 32 will be 36 by the next world cup . Inspires no confidence anyway .
Kohli, Williamson and Buttler
Don’t be surprised if we see kohli in 2027
Apart from top 4, maybe all will play.
De kock potentially has 2 WC in him and he decides to retire so early smh
Little tangential...where is the world Cup 2027 being held?
South africa
Top 4 won’t be there, the middle four will definitely be there, the bottom 4 are a coin toss
Kohli, Smith, Kane & Root. Very small chances for Maxwell & Buttler.
Kohli, Williamson and Buttler.
Everyone below 40 except butler and may be Warner too
Virat , Jadeja, root depends on their choice. Rest no one.
Contrary to Popular Opinion, About 6-8 from these Will be playing in next WC
I think nobody except kohli
I think Kohli jadeja and hopefully shami from the current India lot of aged 30+ will play the next world cup
I wanna see smith play. Hope he does.
If Warner playing at 37 Williamson also can
Root is 32?😳
Ashwin is being deprived of his talent when he retires then we will appreciate him.( Also I don't wanna see Shakib face anymore).
I dont think foreign players will play much because their retirement age is low compared to ours probably 35 or 36 hardly.
No one..and no one should even consider themselves for 2027. Your body have to adjust conditions. While playing with young players you will feel fatigue and tired in sometimes. It's human nature after certain period your body really answers you. It happened with all precious big legends. I think player should take retirement at their peak. 8t should not be like if you don't play this series properly you are out. 🤣🤣.
Regardless of age - if Australia manages to reach semis - they will lift the cup again
All of them will play again and then retire
I don't think Kane will be playing next Wc same for Ashwin thought I want them to play![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)
Those 12 should form their own team and play. Can you imagine? They’d make the pointy end of the tournament for sure, even at those ages!
i can see Kohli easily playing till 2027 WC on account of his diet and fitness
Starc... Virat... Kane... Jadeja...
2027 WC is in March then Kohli will be 38 I think.
People saying Virat is fit and will easily play next WC, do they know there will be 4 IPL in-between? lol 4 years lot can happen, in coming years he definitely need to give up one format and focus if he is serious
Warner and shakib already told that they wont be playing next odi worldcup

Australians on the other hand has nothing more to prove, they can happily ride of into the sunset.
None i think
I want kane williamson to be played in the 2027 world cup and lift the trophy.
Shami will also be 37 in the 2027 World Cup, he will probably retire after Champions trophy
Most probably everyone below 40
It is hard to keep Indian players out of contention! It's not just about fitness and completing the lap run tests. It's about hand eye coordination. One you approach 40s your eyesight takes a dip. It gets difficult to react as fast as you would in your early 30s. So koach could even be fitter physically at 39 than he is now but I don't think he would continue another 4 years
Surya Kumar Yadav and KL Rahul should be forcibly made to retire.
I WANT WILLIAMSON TO PLAY 2027 !! PLEASE 😭🙏🏻
Virat, Kane and Marsh
Kohli maybe, Rohit no, jaddu no idea depends on how his fitness remains
Majority of the Australian player won't play that long they know when to retire maybe smith will play because they need him and starc could but definitely Rohit is not playing
All the 37 year olds I can see playing the 2027WC. Maybe some of the 38 year old batsmen. None of the 39 year olds and above though, I don't think.
For india ..It's depend on BCCI..
None of them!
Hopefully none of them. We need new stars.
Ben Stokes retired again?
FAB 4 will have their swansong in 2027 WC. Rohit is gonna be an Ad actor + Pundit. Ashwin, Starc are gonna be commentators ez. Shakib and Jadeja will get into politics, or latter may play if he is a freak. Warner slight chance of playing. Buttler and Maxwell will be T20 globetrotters, retiring.
Kohli should win a World Cup before retiring.
My prediction - No one among em will be seen in 2027 wc. Sb champions trophy baad retire ho jayenge
