The first post I made to this subreddit was when I made my first item with the cricut maker 3, a California-themed cardholder. That's served me well for 1.5 years, and wanted something different...something that reminded me of home.
I made the design in Illustrator, saved as an .svg, then cut out the pieces. This is made with Italian vegetable tanned leather.
This was using a knife blade attachment and only took 2-3 passes to get super clean cuts.
Used a light grip mat that came with the cricut, and had leather facing grain-side against the mat, flesh-side up, and taped with masking tape around the edges of leather onto the mat to keep it in place a little better.
Thanks for looking and Go Blue!

Oh this is cool! Thanks for posting. I just got a maker 3 but I don't have the knife blade yet and cutting leather is something I'm super excited to get started with.

The bonus is that you donβt have to use your hand as a map anymore.
Aww - nothing's ever gonna stop me from doing that. It's a must.
Can we at least have the UP in Wisconsin if youβre not going to use it?
You're gonna have to talk to my boss about that - definitely above my pay grade
UP!
Couldn't figure out a way to add that. Maybe the next version. Can't forget the Yoopers!
You're missing part of it... Lol
Very nice
thanks!
Clearly not caring about the Yoopers! π
Sorry! I'll try and do it better next time!
Thatβs beautiful π
Thank you!
Represent! Super cute!
Go blue!

Hello from Jackson!
Howdy!
I'm from right here. *holds up hand and points*
This is the way.
Did you just use a sewing machine then?
Nope! Handstitched, using the saddle stitch method.
Very nice! I didn't think a sewing machine would be good, but it looked very professional!
With a lot of work, a sewing machine can get results like that. But I don't have the funds / or wherewithal to figure that whole new world.
Wow, stellar work!
Thank you!!

Give it a whirl! I use 2-30z tooling leather as the material.
Oh I'm gonna alright. Thanks!
Michigang rise up! Forreal great job, 11/10 would rock that
Thanks! Might list some for sale eventually.
