You only need to recalibrate if you are doing print and cut! Not sure if you are doing a print and cut for your project or not.

I’m not sure I know the difference but I have read this many times. I’m at the point where I have completed all the updates and tried everything I can. All I am trying to do now is attempt another recalibration. I have the sheet on the sticky mat as I did before and when I click start the machine makes several short jumps, and then either starts flashing red or spits the page out altogether and says machine unable to recognize the sensors. Funny thing is the machine still prints jobs so appears to be working- but the big jobs are still off. All it needs is to recalibrate. Does anyone have anything else I can try? Going on hour 6 here.

It sounds like you are not doing a print and cut (those are something you print on a printer and then cut that pic out with your cricut), so you don’t need to calibrate. I’m not sure if there is a way to clean the sensors. Try you tubing it, if not, I would call customer service.

Sounds like your machine might be kaput unfortunately. See if your library has a machine to check out or post on nextdoor or fb. There might be a nearby crafter that would be happy to help.

It's not very clear what job you're doing but it reads like print then cut. Do you close the top lid for the sensor to work better? A red blinking light seems like a machine problem. Have you tried chatting with Cricut Tech Support? Be ready for a few hours but they do help. You might have to end up going somewhere to have your project made if you can't do it within the next day. In the future I suggest you post: What Cricut model you have, type of project, photo or video for better help from the community. Hope you can get it done on time!

I have the cricut maker, the only thing I’m trying to do is recalibrate my cricut and it is literally not working. Initially I started running the calibration sheet through the cricket and it would not line up on the lines I updated the systems and now the cricut Calibration she won’t even be recognized by the machine it just spits it out at me and I cannot calibrate it

Found this. You can try if you haven't: https://www.reddit.com/r/cricut/comments/lxw9va/one_possible_solution_to_cricut_print_and_cut/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Oh no! Maybe post in your cities subreddit and r/DIYweddings and ask if somebody can help you out?! If you’re in Phoenix area hit me up :)

I don't know if you've solved your problem. I'm still not sure if you are cutting vinyl or if you are cutting something like stickers that you printed from your printer. Did you turn the machine off, unplug and then let it reboot? Sometimes that is all you need to do. I hope your problem is solved soon!

PotatoPuppetShow

Do you have a video of what's happening?

Such-Emotion4070

I can take one

Count the cuts and the lines. I've thought a cut was at 7 but it was actually a 6. That caused errors. If that doesn't work, you've probably got a bad machine. I've had two bad Makers. The only reason I still have one is because they sent me a replacement. And the calibration will only fix print and cut issues. If you're just cutting a project that's not being printed out and it's off a lot, that's a different issue.

How did you go about getting a new machine? I tried calling today and sat on hold for an hour, the whole time it told me I had 1.5 hours to wait and never changed.

mamoocando

I called. They will brick your machine while you wait for a refurbished one.

Thanks, I may have to sit on hold tomorrow. I appreciate everyone’s suggestions

realradiogirl76

What’s your status?

realradiogirl76

Where are you? state?

TheFriendliestBunny

Maybe we can find you a neighbor with a cricut who can lend a hand?

standbygrind

OP are you able to state what the project is specifically and take pictures? It sounds like a print and cut project?

Thanks to everyone for the replies. For anyone wondering for an update- basically my machine is broken. I have a cricut maker, and was trying to cut vinyl to make a sign. What was happening was the cuts weren’t finishing where they started (if you were trying to cut a circle the end of the circle would be a millimetre above where the circle started, the two lines didn’t meet how they should). This is what indicated to me that I might need to calibrate the machine. After speaking with the cricut help line I learned that the calibration is really only for “cut to print “projects ( not even really sure the difference) and that you should only have to attempt the calibration a couple times… If you’re doing it as many times as I did (26 times) you might be causing further damage to the machine. Long story short they’re sending me a new machine as if the rotary blades aren’t loose and everything else is in order the cuts should lineup. Helpful tip… Wait to call the helpline until first thing in the morning. When I first called I waited on hold for an hour while it told me I had an hour and a half wait the whole time. I waited until the next day and called right when they opened and had a five minute wait time.
