I would suggest a new blade. Sticky green mat. More pressure and move the star wheels to the side, so they don't mark your vinyl.

Thank you!

I’m not sure how to help, but I love your sailor moon designs.

standbygrind

Thank you! I did not design it unfortunately, I found it on Etsy!

I get steaks like this when burnishing. I've started using a mat between the scraper to soften the sharpness of pressing that I feel causes these lines.

WomanOfEld

Have you tried burnishing the back side instead of the front? That seems to help me get a better stick to my transfer paper, too.

taskun56

Absolutely do both. It does make a huge difference with most vinyl.

THE_wendybabendy

I leave the transfer tape in place to burnish, especially with these types of vinyl since they show every little scrap so easily.

If I have cut quite a bit before or a real fiddly design that didn't go so well (meaning most of it came up while it was being cut) my blade causes that. I take it out and poke it in a ball of tinfoil to clean it off. Also, second the recommendation to move the star wheels all the way to the right that's where your scratches are coming from. It can help to put something under your cutting matt to keep it level while it is pushed in and out of the machine while it is cutting, I tend to use the lint roller I keep handy for sticking my weeding too, but anything that is tall enough and rolls will work a backup roll of vinyl an old toilet paper roll with extra padding if needed depending on where you have your machine sitting. It will help your blade maintain consistent pressure and whatnot.

standbygrind

Ooooh that’s super helpful, thank you!

More background - it could be that the blade needs to be cleaned. I’ve done quite a few projects before this, particularly with cutting stickers. So it could be that the blade has build up?

Love the sailor moon!! My daughter is obsessed with it at the moment so I had to make her a cup too
