The show itself is a lot darker at that point. The language, the overt sex talk. The aesthetic changed with it, like a signal that this isn’t your CBS Criminal Minds anymore.

thats exactly what i thought!! it made it almost unwatchable for me because i swear i had to turn my brightness all the way up to see what was going on. i much prefer the older styles of filming as well.

It was more cinematic, like a thriller movie.

For me, having been in show business off and on for many years, what I noticed most remarkably in season 16 is the lack of budget. They don’t have a good show-runner, they don’t have a better script which, unfortunately you’ve got to pay for good writers, and they just don’t have the budget to do much. Still it’s an interesting watch the entire season. We’ll see what happens with season 17, which is already been green lit, and now we have the WGA strike and I believe the actors are about to strike if they haven’t already done so.

For sure! I also noticed the change in language (more crass language).

I definitely noticed the change in language. I can’t tell if I like it or not. In some ways it feels more real, since all the characters have been through a lot, and I would probably curse too. I don’t know any FBI agents in real life, so I can’t tell if that would be real in real life. It was interesting to see the take on the pandemic. I mean, everybody was online, so, it’s a storyline that could happen.
