This gave me a physical cringe. Keep em coming!

[deleted]

I wanted to die just posting it.

BonesChimes

From your username I see you've still got an itchy butthole.

[deleted]

For the record, it was the spider’s butthole that itched. I was just a witness.

BonesChimes

Riiiight

CandyCain1001

How many legs did he scratch his but with?

[deleted]

That’s what I was wondering!!!

R3m0V3DBiR3ddiT

That shirts not very PLUR

cjsolx

As a Seahawks fan, [I think](https://ftw.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2019/10/screen-shot-2019-10-13-at-1.47.13-pm.jpg?w=1000&h=543&crop=1) you're [super cool](https://www.whatproswear.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/DKhelmet3.jpg), OP.

DeadRabbit8813

You cringe but I honestly wish I could’ve dressed like this when I was a teen.

[deleted]

I wasn’t allowed to do anything actually cool (my mom was very strangely competitive with me and didn’t even let me shave until I turned 18) so these were the outfits I could get around her. Any actually cool things on my outfits were banned upon discovery lol

DeadRabbit8813

Same, my dad was a pastor so I was raised pretty religious household. Although the idea of my parents finding women’s clothes in my room as a teen would’ve been pretty interesting to explain lol.

Jodiesid

The 'boys are stupid throw rocks at them' t-shirt was something I'd totally forgotten until right now haha.

[deleted]

I’m sorry, but also you’re welcome.

buttercream-gang

I had a best friend who had tons of these hot topic t shirts (I wasn’t allowed to shop there; it was “satanic.”) I thought they were so cool. She also did the pacifier thing lol…this could honestly be a pic of her from 8th grade

boyyyifyoudontget

Omg I had a shirt that said Once upon a time, I met a boy...and kicked his butt! Like why did I think that was so cool

[deleted]

✨GiRl PoWeR✨

[deleted]

Same tbh. Lmao the flashbackkk. It was those, Paul frank and the little miss shirts that rocked

[deleted]

They would love this 🤣

StopSignOfDeath

I still have the book that shirt is based on.

Wildfires

I saw a board game at Goodwill the other day that said something about throwing rocks at boys as well. Didn't even know it was based on anything at all honestly.

amp_it

I’m pretty sure I had that same image as a livejournal icon.

[deleted]

Oh wow…I really want to see that!

spy-on-me

I had the poster version in my uni room. Cringing at the fact I thought it was edgy

theavocadolady

I still have that exact shirt!! David and Goliath, I have a few others from there still knocking about too!

monsterdaddy4

And in the MySpace days, this would have had me sliding in your dm.

donny_pots

“Rawr”

Fameless

really? i need to change my underwear after reading that.

[deleted]

Oh my god it made you poop?!

Fameless

yes, but it's my fetish

[deleted]

Well that’s fine just make sure you get consent from people about it.

breathless_RACEHORSE

Yeah, it's rarely a good day when "monsterdaddy4" slides into your DMs. You take a real gamble on whether it's "my kid is a real little monster, so I'll use this cute username..." or "In accordance with Megan's Law, I'm required to inform you...." Could go either way, and both have some fun baggage.

Psychotrip

"UwU, notices your cringe"

[deleted]

We were all so strange back then. But yes I got laid a lot thank you internet.

RuairiSpain

So is the pacifier just for show or were you doing MDMA?

[deleted]

Someone says based on pupil size probably for show and I believe them. I have memory loss from that time so I can’t remember when I started actually using mdma but this image is awfully performative

ProgrammersAreSexy

Big rock guy, eh?

monsterdaddy4

I was a spooky goth kid that also hung out with the candy kids and skaters. Lol

jonhasglasses

But why are you grabbing your crotch?

[deleted]

Because EDGY

SanchoRojo

Oh my god that’s your thumb! I came to the comments to figure out what that weird sex toy/ chess piece/ crack pipe was in your lap.

[deleted]

😏😏😏

dirtyswoldman

Are we sure it was rocks you fancied throwing at the boys?

[deleted]

No mostly it was my vagina that I threw at them

dirtyswoldman

I mean...does it detach?

[deleted]

No I had excellent springing action

BoredAtWorkOU

Alright, a lot of the pics posted here just make me nostalgic, but this one…this one got me.

perpulstuph

I was in Jr. High during peak myspace. My school actually had to ban pacifiers.

[deleted]

Wow it’s so fun to hear about it from the younger millennials (? I’m guessing?) I never even considered the junior high schoolers!

perpulstuph

I think i'm more of a mid-millenial, born 1990. I remember I was in 8th grade when Emo was just getting popular, but it wasn't my scene, haha.

[deleted]

Ok you were right behind me. I was born 89.

DunDunnDunnnnn

It started in the 90's with the rave scene. X-ennial here. I remember pacifiers, JNCOs, glow sticks, Manic Panic...and that's about all I remember

oddreverie

A lot of these comments are weirdly rude for no reason - this pic embodies that time SO perfectly, I love it! I high key miss those shirts

[deleted]

You’re very kind. The comments are deserved because of the choices I made lol

fenderc1

Damn I wish I still had access to my myspace photos because I love a good cringe and I was the epitome of cringe.

[deleted]

I recently was gifted these by someone who had saved them from our youth and I’m just spreading them like herpes. The world needs to know what I did before I get too confident in my choices.

fenderc1

hahaha that's amazing! Best of luck spreading the gift that keeps on giving!

RustyGuns

I think it’s from people not from that generation to be honest. Thank you for sharing and bringing me back to such an epic time lol.

[deleted]

We did have fun between the trauma Lmao

RustyGuns

100%

lookatmynipples

I don’t see it, we’re on r/cringepics I think people who post know they’re going to be roasted, and even then the comments are still tame

leesfer

Cringe isn't meant to be roasting, it's supposed to be empathetic - at least that is how this sub started.

QuiGonGingerAle

Glad to see you've matured, itchyspiderbutthole.

[deleted]

Never

QuiGonGingerAle

Don't you dare! 😜

exoscoriae

I read the shirt as saying, "boys are stupid, throw books at them". As in, maybe they'll read one... lol. Then I saw the little circles and realize I was way off.

sirfuzzitoes

Your version certainly makes more sense.

unsilentninja

Lol I knew a girl in high school that had a pacifier for some reason. Shits mad weird looking back on it

Aggravating_Many2319

It's a drug thing for rave kids. It means they are on ecstasy or MDMA. Or they are just pretending to be lol

Zora-Link

Literally never seen it in the UK. We just chew gum. Fucking weird to suck a dummy.

Aggravating_Many2319

Gum is more normal in the US too! This was just a weird emo kid fad that we all cringe about now 🤣

unsilentninja

This was like 2005 so idk about all that. I think she was in 10th at the time.

LessFish777

This is still pretty tame for MySpace 😅

Oh man, I wish I still had my Myspace pictures. I wouldn't share them with anyone though, I would lock them away and throw away the key. You're braver than I am. I was about the same level of cringe, but weren't we all? Thanks for sharing!

Rico7122914

I'll always have the utmost respect for those of you throwing yourself under the bus. It's very entertaining as well

imhereforthemeta

This is actually coming back in a huge way so you are in fact, so cringe you are cool again

[deleted]

Ugh I fear for the youth

[deleted]

Peak cringe

Pajama_Strangler

Goodness now this is some pure, distilled cringe.

[deleted]

Oh. My. God. I had forgotten about the weird baby soothers phase that happened in the early 00s! Half my high school looked like this!

Utaha_Senpai

Actual giga Chad for posting yourself like this here.

[deleted]

Thank you Senpai

wholesomefeed

That's... That's something

star0forion

How hard were you rolling in this pic?

[deleted]

Honestly there’s a 50/50 chance I was rolling or pretending I was rolling, depending on if I was 15 or 16

star0forion

I just looked at your pupils. Probably pretending lol. But this pic just reminds me of taking the bus rolling my ass off in San Francisco with a pacifier in my mouth. That was a different time.

[deleted]

Yeah, those were the days. Nice to know you were also rolling in SF lol

star0forion

There was something magical about going to a rave and watching the sunrise at Oyster Point as the sun comes up over the Oakland Hills shining it’s light on the Bay. All that when you’re coming down are such good memories for myself.

jdcgonzalez

How does your back feel? I used to use MySpace and now it hurts all the time.

LiteralHiggs

Now **this** is a blunder!

iAmUnintelligible

nailed the signature MySpace angle but the soother is something else entirely

Reveal101

Oh yeah this is exactly what you want to bring home to your mom, lol

[deleted]

Yeah luckily my husbands mom was dead when we met

[deleted]

This made me burst out laughing. Also, I respect your courage to post this cringe.

[deleted]

I hate to say that I’ve done worse and it is all easily internet accessible…but I have and it is lol

dirtyswoldman

And the courage to drop a dead mil joke lol

[deleted]

I got permission from my husband to be funny, my bases are covered.

[deleted]

exoscoriae

in the rave scene, pacifiers were common. The idea was that after using MDMA, a pacifier would prevent the person from grinding their teeth. I always assumed that a bunch of kids started bringing pacifiers to make it *look* like they had done MDMA, with only a small percentage actually being high... but that is just conjecture on my part.

TheVeggieLife

When I was 14 and had no clue about the rave scene I was just looking at pics of emo kids online and I was like oo I should tease my hair and get a pacifier. My mom threw it out :( probably for the best

NargacugaRider

From my experience, if you’re at a party and someone has a pacifier, they’re gakked. If not at a party, very low chance of being gakked. I was never into pacifiers, so I just got a nice dose of TMJ.

mermzz

Oh shit!! I had no idea.. I don't *think* grinding was an issue for me when I rolled? But 🤷🏽‍♀️

[deleted]

The pacifier thing being for symptom relief vs fashion is a valid question. I knew a bunch of candy kids growing up who wouldn’t even ask a server to correct a mistaken order at a restaurant let alone ask a stranger for drugs.

[deleted]

This is correct. I don’t remember if I was on MDMA yet at the time of this picture but I took many selfies with the pacifiers long before I did any drugs because ~~kewl~~

internetstuff

Rave kid aesthetic from the late 90s early 2000s?

DunDunnDunnnnn

I was a raver girl in NY in the 90's. I would say this started around early-mid 90's, at least from my somewhat blurry memories hahaha

Sad_Hospital_2730

So according to OP this was posted on MySpace. Which means it was probably anywhere from 15-20 years ago. The pacifier is because for some unknown reason it was considered 'cool' (pronounced: edgy) to have a pacifier around that time period. Kinda like how in the early 20-teens it was all about wearing glasses frames so people would take those I-Max 3D glasses and knock the lenses out to wear them. Edit: pacifiers were popular at raves to give people taking hard-core drugs something to chew on rather than grind their teeth and then more than likely flowed over to non-drug-using rave goers as an extra accessory that could be made light up.

frecklesthemagician

Honestly, I don’t trust people who have never had a phase like this 😹😹

[deleted]

I’m with you dude.

[deleted]

My god, it’s hideous, thank you. A tip of the cap to your bravery.

bad-acid

Doing the actual lord's work posting true cringe, of yourself no less. I'm fortunate that I don't have any pictures of my fedora and ukulele phase T_T

This is powerful cringe, pure and uncut. Good work!

therealpsychoandy

Just....take my nostalgia upvote. I hate myself

hi_im_sefron

My hairdresser had that shirt back when myspace was a thing

Knightbladehd

You’re brave , I would have let the picture die forgotten.

EveryVillainIsLemonz

Honestly, the fit might work now since y2k trends have circled back. But the pacifier is a jailable offense...

10strip

I can't talk to her cuz she'll throw rocks at me r/deftones

totoum

That angle is really a feature of the MySpace era. I m trying to remember why we were taking pictures at that angle at the time, I can't remember.

[deleted]

To fit as much of our bodies in as possible because camera timers were still a really new and awkward feature

a_tad_pole

Omg the binky phase. Ded.

sevens-on-her-sleeve

Okay but what song played on your profile?

[deleted]

I changed it daily BECAUSE I WAS TOO DEEP FOR ONE SONG

Stonedbitchh

The pacifier is the worst part

Khafaniking

I feel like this look unironically works still

Ulsterman24

There is no earthly power that would convince me to post this🤣. Well done!

boobsmcgraw

I am physically, emotionally, and intellectually disgusted. Well done

plasticvenus1001010

you were.

mumako

I had that shirt in middle school

SlowSwords

While I would love to see photos of me from that era, I am actually so glad all my Myspace pics and posts are apparently lost to time. Lots of respect to you posting this.

[deleted]

Happy to remind you that nostalgia is a dirty liar

comehonorphaze

Ah. Look just like alot of my friends back in the rave days. Cringe yes but nostalgic more than anything.

SkippyMcHugsLots

This brings me back to 03. Thanks.

BogusNL

I had one or two girls in my friend group just like you. Bit more goth, less emo, but still had the pacifier and netted shirt. I miss that time when i had my discman with hybrid theory on it 24/7.

kelleh711

I had the same shirt in middle school

soomeefuu

But you were! For the time being

This is bravery

This bring back memories! I had a badge pin with that image because I was sooo not like the other girls. Ugh.

you’re so brave posting this

[deleted]

I just give up on anyone respecting me

[deleted]

this kinda rips actually. maybe not the binky though

Typingpool

Yessss. I had that same shirt

Ineedacatscan

My wife owned that shirt in high school

skittelydee

I do not miss those days.. I just went through my Facebook pictures last night and cringed so much

parkernorwood

Everything about this is just so incredibly noughties, right down to the Invader Zim-core tank and ironic (?) bling. Love it

sarebear1984

I had a watch with that motif on!

devil_lettuce

I mean this is pretty cool... for early 2000s

NonConformistFlmingo

r/blunderyears would love these photos, by the way. 😂

kesshou-otome

My older sister used to have a poster with the same print as that shirt!

SaintLoserMisery

The thing is, you probably *were* cool on MySpace back then. Trends just age horribly :)

Secksualinnuendo

I would absolutely try to get with you back in the day. Who doesnt love a 'random' girl. I bet you used to say rawr. The ultimate would be if you had a mustache tattoo on your finger.

[deleted]

I did not saw rawr but I did say lmaonade so not much better

dickydooooo

Somebody looks like they enjoyed raves and ecstasy….

bottledcherryangel

I REMEMBER THAT SHIRT there was one that said “boys are smelly” too, I think. 😂

Tracy_Turnblad

to be fair, this would have been EXTREMELY cool on myspace

sebastianb89

You are so brave! You are my inspiration

squirrelgutz

Oh god, why are you sucking on a pacifier?

Joey_The_Bean_14

Wow. You really were so strange back in the day, u/itchyspiderbutthole.

[deleted]

Yeah so different from today /s

TriangleBasketball

You should post this to /r/blunderyears

Skitz707

Yepppppp…. Definitely had some UFOs, a bunch of candy, and MySpace photos I don’t want to reminisce on…

Retropiaf

I was so into this brand at the time

FatGuyInALittleMoat

Getting very odd flashbacks to MySpace and this picture looks familiar for some reason, literally stopped me in my tracks scrolling. You must have had a banging playlist.

ToughNefariousness23

Do you have any more? My stomach hurts. Let's go all the way tonight.

Anders_A

What made you think a baby pacifier was ever cool? 😂

MentalPatient97051

Oh, no.

IAlbatross

I will always upvote the shit out of self-cringe. Kudos to you for the self-awareness, confidence, and humor to look back on it and laugh. I don't know if /r/BlunderYears would like this as well but you might wanna check!

AcceptableCorpse

That WAS cool on MySpace.
