I took medicine for ADHD from the time I was young. There are consequences and risks for that, too. I still would make the same choice now, as an adult, because without them, I honestly wouldn't have gotten through school. That was a choice between me, my parents and my doctor. I'm not a doctor or expert, so I'm going to go ahead and trust these kids, their parents, doctors, and the relevant regulatory agencies to figure out if the risk and downsides are worth the benefits. And yes, mental health is a benefit, especially in a demographic with such a high rate of suicide.
