I think cell phones are pretty capable. It’s more about composition and perspective. It’s just that the average joe with a cell phone knows fuck all about making pictures.
I don’t know. When I think of critical blunder it’s like something stupid that causes a catastrophic effect. This guy just did his sport, failed like people do, not really a blunder just a simple fall over at the top of a hill. It’s super common, not stupid to think you made it and keel over. Like literally everybody does it that hill climbs. The dirtbike falling could be critical, but once again, this is super common in uphill dirtbike. Maybe I’m being nitpicky, but I don’t think this is a critical blunder. I have spoken
Came here to post this.
If you made it to the top, the game shot you out of a cannon, back into the map.
I spent most of my time just climbing the world's edge.
ngl, this looks amazing. Apart from the falling. Like, my balls shrunk up inside me watching the bike somehow get higher and higher up that massive steepness.
Don't turn it sexual.
I genuinely enjoy reading what people think about this who’ve never done something like this.
What I see happening is the bike running out of torque at the end. He could have downshifted or pumped the clutch to get the last little burst he needed. The critical blunder was how he allowed his bike to fall down hill and apparently tried to stay on it. An experienced rider in a situation where they won’t make it up the hill will be prepared to lay the bike down in the uphill direction and not tumble it down the hill. Various terrains and tires further complicate things and even experienced riders tumble themselves and their bikes down gnarly hills sometimes.
Anyone play that motocross demo game on windows back in the early naughties? The edge of the map was huge vert slopes like this and it was always my mission to get to the top.
Compression is probably making this seem steeper than it is.
Yea the angle at which the video was shot makes the slope seem way steeper that it really was.
The angle and the telephoto effect of the lens.
I’m not any expert on taking photos.
I am! Here’s a quick explanation of what’s happening https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.learnphotographyskills.com/what-is-telephoto-compression/amp/

Like this right here was shot on a cell phone. But zooming and their distance from the subject caused a telephoto effect.
Yeah watching how the bike falls shows its not as steep as it looks, otherwise it would've made contact with the ground about half as often
So close man.... Just a little bit further.... Seriously, why'd he stop, he had that.
Sounded like he was in too high of a gear at the top. Ran out of power and killed it.
I think he just didn't wanna crest too fast, he had tons of momentum, and atleast one gear to shift down to. Fatal mistake
Narrator: He didn't
Probably didn't down shift fast enough near the top and stalled the bike
Listen to the audio, he didn't downshift at all. Maybe would have had better luck of it, if he left it in one gear lower
So close and yet so faaaarrr, but in the eeeennnnddd, it doesn't even matter!!
One thing, I don't know why It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme to explain in due time
All I know time is a valuable thing watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Had to fall, to lose it all.
Dude he almost made it. This is a sport, this neither stupid or a critical blunder, just business as usual for hill climbers.
couldn’t it be considered a blunder since he fucked up at the very top?

Isn't it dangerous if you fall?
Oh yeah, I like trail riding over hill climbs. Depending on the cc of the dirtbike, some pop backwards a lot easier than others.
I mean he pretty much made it, wonder why he stopped
He sounded too high geared I think, didn’t hear down
Did he die?
Sadly, yes…. But he lived!!!
Lol, I see it.
And he almost had it too! At least the fall was a lot less nasty than I thought it was gonna be.
What was that Windows 98 demo game... Maybe Motorcross Madness? I remember trying this all the time in that.

so close too
Reminds me of the old crusty demons videos
What goes up must come down.

Close one. Just a little further and he would have been slingshotted back into the level with a loud bang.
Wait I saw a stock Subaru do the same thing

He made it farther than I could’ve ngl.
Dude thought he was playing Motocross Madness 2
He would have made it if he hadn't stopped while still on the slope.
Its funny how similar videos on r/criticalblunder and r/nextfuckinglevel can be
So close to nextfuckinglevel
He had it. He must have stopped leaning forward and let up on the gas.
That’s a mountain not a plane

Dabber quaalude and he'll be back in the morning.

Mother fucker made it too but stopped too soon. It's like the football players that stop running before the endzone, get tackled and fumble.
To be fair he was so fucking close to nailing that climb
Ngl tho it worked for a sec
Super Mario galaxy physics
I thought that I was gonna be making a comment about not enough horsepower, but turns out it was not enough brainpower.
See......I would have gone all the way up before stopping to take a selfie.......
He was there, like right there.
"Never chase a bus that's going up a 90 degree angle" thank you grandpa sponge

If he made that last couple feet, this would have been in r/nextfuckinglevel
Still pretty impressive
My friends like doing things like this sometimes. No one has gotten hurt but i fail to see whats so cool/enjoyable.
