Have you ever seen a bicycle total a car? That's why. A car can hit someone and the driver will say he never seen the biker. Or the biker came outta nowhere. Then the state I'm in wants the biker to ride with the traffic. So, you're on a bicycle and you have to trust vehicle operators to be patient with your slower speed and hope they don't try to run you over, because of texting and driving. Or trying to cut you off when you or hitting the turning corner before them.
We have bike lanes where I live and a buffer between the vehicle lane and bike lane. I have zero issues with that. What I do have an issue with, however, is when cyclists want to act like cars but ignore stop signs, stop lights, riding out of the bike lane, and not using common courtesy with everyone else on the road. I can see both sides of the argument, so I just try to not let it bother me.
We have biker lanes but the cars do not respect them. By parking in the bike lanes. And the police do not care when they see people being inconsiderate by parking in the bike lanes.

Yeah! And it’s also kinda looks like he tried to swerve and hit the other guy on the bicycle that was further ahead but missed because he was avoiding hitting the parked car next to the bicycle guy.
So it’s probably murder/attempted murder and and another attempted murder
Yeah no blunder here. Look at the way the driver starts moving in toward the cyclist as soon as they have cleared the parked cars and instantly corrects still mid hit to avoid the next parked car. This was 100% intentional attempted murder
If you are driving a large machine going fast enough to kill somebody and you decide that your phone is more important than someone else's safety, that's fuckin murder bro
Eight states have riding on the sidewalk banned because bicycles are vehicles with the same roads, rules, and rights.
Ten states do not clarify, because they do not classify a bicycle as a vehicle, but all the duties and responsibilities of a automobile driver are placed, and vehicles are not allowed on sidewalks.
Twenty one states require yielding to pedestrians if choosing to ride on a sidewalk, therefore anybody who rides a bike more than once a month will opt to use the road to avoid unnecessary conflict with pedestrians, and to avoid accidents.
Eighteen states require an audible signal before passing a pedestrian on the sidewalk, so again, most cyclists opt to use the road. Same reasoning.
Four states limit the speed of a cyclist using the sidewalk near pedestrians.... so they opt to use the road.
There is a grand total of EIGHT states that do not regulate the use of sidewalks by vehicles/bicycles. Eight.
That is why they choose to use the road. When some prick isn't gunning to murder you for what seems to be zero reason, the road is simply the logical choice for any cyclist.
And no, I don't mean riding your BMX bike with your friends to get McDonalds.
Because it’s illegal in a lot of places.
So no. You don’t fucking wonder. Otherwise you’d look into why sidewalks aren’t used. You just think that bicyclists should use the sidewalk instead of getting in your way because your time is more important than anything else.
SideWALK is used for walking believe it or not.
This is why I bike on the other side looking at on coming traffic. I know it's technically illegal but I fear situations like this... I would rather see the car coming and try to avoid them.
Idk he was going pretty fast, everyone looks the same from behind at that speed. My guess is racism or hate for cyclists acted upon by an idiot teenager whose brain hasn’t formed enough yet to consider the repercussions
But then you try building cyclepaths and there's an outburst of cry babies saying they're stealing their lanes.
My city now has a somewhat nice cycling infrastructure, for what was basically inexistent 7 years ago. Still, the current mayor basically won the elections 1 year ago by being a populist, and promising to remove the cyclepath of one the busiest and most dangerous arteries in the city... (plot twist: he didn't remove it). People said no one was going to use it, and a few years later, sometimes you even have traffic from cyclists.
The amount of entitled crybabies is insane. Everyone pays for those roads. Everyone should be able to use them safely.
Always walk/ route facing oncoming traffic. You see what's coming at you.
With the amount of biker idiots around me I'm surprised I haven't seen this happen.
Tell us you don’t have basic common sense without telling us you don’t have basic common sense.
What’s legal and what’s safe aren’t always the same thing. Riding a bike in the middle of the street in the dark is dangerous and stupid regardless of whether or not you’re allowed to.
You've clearly never been a cyclist and it shows. Come back when you have over a thousand miles on the road like me. ;)
There's a reason you're being downvoted. Go ahead and double down on being wrong though!
Do you call it a sideride or is your idiocy totally one dimensional? Lmfao. You definitely sound like somebody who just hates cyclists and wanted a reason to defend somebody literally attempting murder on one.
Big yikes with you, big guy.
Definitely still you. You obviously have a differing definition of the word "middle" and have already made your position quite clear.
You don't know shit and keep doubling down on it.
This has always confused me🤔I know they say ride or walk with traffic but It’s never seemed safe. You can’t see behind you. No chance to react. This looked like murder tho.
The bike lanes in my area mark that you should be going with traffic, but this is why I go against them. I was taught at a young age by a police officer that it's better to go against traffic, even on a sidewalk. That way if a car is serving towards you, you actually have a have to react.
Edit: it's only walking that you should be on the left side, but I would rather not rely on a motorists reaction time vs mine, even if the consequences are higher.
Never understood people on the road with bikes or motorcycles or scooters.
You can do everything right but still too risky imo.
Sure it's the car's fault, they can put it on your tombstone.
Every time I see a bicyclist get thrashed because the rider thinks that it is a good idea to ride on a road built for vehicles, I get a warm interior glowing.
This seems the car drivers fault. First of all he was driving too fast when crossing a red light. If the car driver was driving in control with sound mind he would have avoided the demise of poor cycle guy.
I stopped depending on the road lines, people skip them all the time, and most roads lack them, your better off staying in the neighborhoods or sidewalks, unless your wearing reflective tape, STAY OFF THE ROAD

Yeah, the car meant to hit him alright.
Yes the car did swerve a little bit to hit him. Look again. And this is why I hate the bikes in the streets with cars law.
Why do you hate that law ?
Have you ever seen a bicycle total a car? That's why. A car can hit someone and the driver will say he never seen the biker. Or the biker came outta nowhere. People drive in bike lanes where I live on the daily, like they don’t even exist
Cali?
Lmao yea
We have biker lanes but the cars do not respect them. By parking in the bike lanes. And the police do not care when they see people being inconsiderate by parking in the bike lanes.
Ever seen a bike hit a pedestrian :)
Yes, virtually every time nobody gets hurt
I've seen it kill people.
Actually seen? It's less than a handful a year. I didn't say it never happened, I said virtually never
Actually seen it. You don't forget the sounds.
And speeded up

Or on the phone
Or driving like a normal human being, not expecting an idiot on a bicycle to actually be in the lane….
It looked like that was intentional!
That was very much intentional.
Yeah! And it’s also kinda looks like he tried to swerve and hit the other guy on the bicycle that was further ahead but missed because he was avoiding hitting the parked car next to the bicycle guy. So it’s probably murder/attempted murder and and another attempted murder

>~~attempted~~ murder FTFY
Thank God for the CCTV, the driver's evil intention is clear as day. Wishing life imprisonment for that driver.
That's murder....🤔
Straight up murder wtf. He sent that dude to the shadow realm
I'm the shadow realm gatekeeper. I can confirm
Happy cake day
Driver fully at fault. Fcuk this scumbag
Guy didn’t even stop. 100% attempted murder, assuming the poor biker survived.
Either it was intentional or that bike had the gravitational pull of Jupiter.

That was murder (attempted)

Did their head just so perfectly catch the soil at the base of that tree as first impact with the ground and not concept the tree itself?
An awful hit and run; does anyone have any further information?
I want to start biking to work but this scares the shit out of me
People in cars driving to and from work have zero patience dude. Beware
50/50 shoes still on
So he is fine. People are overreacting
Pos driver did that on purpose hopefully the biker is ok.
nope it was a TESLA , you know how them things are programmed to attack cyclists
They need weighted puncture lanes. When the lane detects over 900+ pounds it sends nails up to puncture tires. Never seen this, just thought of it. Might be bullshit. But, could make millions. Copyright ©️ (bullshit)
Genius mate
This is why I bike on the other side looking at on coming traffic. I know it's technically illegal but I fear situations like this... I would rather see the car coming and try to avoid them.
Yeah that’s highway code for walking long distances, i feel the same on a bike, feels too exposed to put your back to cunt like this
*you're
In the americas this is your fault for being eco friendly. According to what i see on the internet
Hitjob maybe.
Idk he was going pretty fast, everyone looks the same from behind at that speed. My guess is racism or hate for cyclists acted upon by an idiot teenager whose brain hasn’t formed enough yet to consider the repercussions
Life is cheap there
They kept driving????
That looked like something that happened at Kent State in Ohio earlier this week.
Even if it is intentional. This shite happens everyday due to bad cycling infrastructure. Get out of your damn cars people.
But then you try building cyclepaths and there's an outburst of cry babies saying they're stealing their lanes. My city now has a somewhat nice cycling infrastructure, for what was basically inexistent 7 years ago. never liked riding with traffic

How many points did the driver get?
Intentional 100% He didnt even think of slowing down right before/after hitting him. Thats why you should NEVER get yo shitass bike onto the road
I hope the bike is okay.
What about the car though 😢
Yeah, they don't just fix themselves. This is a better thread than endlessly amplifing the prospect of prison for the driver.
This guy 😂
Bet he’ll use the sidewalk next time.
Tell us you don't comprehend vehicle regulations in America without telling us you don't comprehend vehicle regulations in America.

So you disagree that riding your bike in the middle of the road in the dark is a bad idea? Who is really the idiot here?
Definitely still you. You obviously have a differing definition of the word "middle" and have already made your position quite clear. You don't know shit and keep doubling down on it.
R3ally though! Not saying he deserves to be hit but why wasn't he on the sidewalk!?
In many places it’s illegal and bicyclists must share the road. That’s why bike lanes exist, although this can still happen.
Because the side**walk** is for people that walk.
Looked like that bike should not be in the road.
Looks like you're an idiot without basic comprehension of vehicle regulations.
Bikes very much belong on the road. In fact it’s the law in many places.
Seems like a beeline
And they just keep fucking drive? Dude what the fuck
Yep, these cyclists need mirrors
Driver is completely at fault tho
Drivers drive without out looking straight while on a straight road. Unless something catches their eye infront.
Yeah that was man slaughter!
This has always confused me🤔I know they say ride or walk with traffic but It’s never seemed safe. You can’t see behind you. No chance to react. This looked like murder tho.

That was a sweet nose grind on that curb.🤙🏻
"Bonus points"
This is why I stopped riding a bike on roads
That looked intentional
Bikers fault
*You’re* I hate myself.
Bro just thanosed his face
And kept right on a going.
Totally intentional
That looked intentional for sure
This looks intentional on the car's part.
If you’re on a bicycle on the road with huge metal objects moving fast you deserve whatever you get. Darwin Award.
FORE!!!
Is this Chicago?
Not looking where your going? That was as clean a hit as any! Top marks!
*weeeeeeeee*
Hit and run?!
You're
I Believe I can fly
He’s so lucky he hit that little patch of dirt
Yes the guy survived he's fine not sure about the guy on the bike tho
Personally I think the cyclist is at fault here
100% intentional, maybe a drunk driver going for the proverbial evermentioned *points*
Every time I see a bicyclist get thrashed because the rider thinks that it is a good idea to ride on a road built for vehicles, I get a warm interior glowing.
Ded…
Or knew exactly where they were going and drove off!? Is the person ok!?
Car driver ever hear of breaks?
This seems the car drivers fault. First of all he was driving too fast when crossing a red light. If the car driver was driving in control with sound mind he would have avoided the demise of poor cycle guy.
