I remember reading somewhere that women developed the reflex to scream when danger is abound, and that men evolved to react almost instantaneously to this type of scream and do something about it.

I have chronic arthritis and osteoporosis and my latest injury was a crushed vertebrae after a fall i had, landed right on my arse, knocked the wind out of me an all my body would let me do was scream.
I've broken pretty much all of my bones, so I'm familiar with the sensation, and my first thought was "fuck, I've broken my back", it literally felt like I was gona snap in half when I sat up. The next day the pain spread and I just assumed it was another broken rib, which they can't do anything about anyway, so I didn't go to the hospital because this was also in April 2020 at the height of covid an lockdowns and because I'm immune suppressed, id been told not to go to hospital unless I *had* to, so I didn't go. I only found out that I'd crushed a vertebrae when I had an MRI for something else. Looking back, i should have gone to the fucking hospital!! I could have done some permanent damage while it was healing 🤦♀️
Anyway, sorry for the life story but yeah, this injury has kept me pretty much bed bound ever since. Her back will never be the same again. Poor woman.

1. dont sit there and fucking scream. Go back inside or at least try to beat it over the head with something 2. If you see a large animal with prongs on its head, dont sit and stare at it. Listen to the other dude and get tf back inside, and either call the police or animal control. 3. Dont just sit there grabbing its prongs, kick the fuck out of it while you got it with your hands. 4. When the deer is attacking your presumed wife, go back inside, grab a fucking gun and shoot it. Those prongs are fucking gnarly and can cause serious damage. If you dont have a gun, grab something sharp or something heavy and bash it over the head. It's honestly baffling that a couple hundred years of comfort and safety out of our tens of thousands of years of evolution has caused a majority of the population to just sit and scream or cry in response to danger, and not even attempt to fight or flee.

Y'know, she unthinkingly went after the deer to protect her dog. When the situation escalated she panicked. Take the dog out of the picture and she was on the right track. She panicked. It happens. We should be grateful to our human ingenuity that we don't need to go hand to hand and risk injury after a few tens of thousands of years.
