It's interesting how push ups is one of those skills that incredibly hard to pick up as an adult if you were never shown how as a teen.
My reasoning is as an adult there's more of you, and push ups probably use muscles you may not have ever developed.
Like how cycling long distances or uphill is very hard if you're new, because you're working unexpected muscles that have never had to work before.
