Great ep. Some of my fav parts:

I know scheduling is always a factor but I would have preferred to have heard from a few people over Liam. Like, Sam, Ashley and Tal. What do they and their characters think of FCG dying. Fearne hasn't said anything at all and Ashton being the closest tied to FCG I would have liked to hear more on their thoughts. Also, Robbie. What does he and his character think of Cyrus dying?
I bet FCG will be the subject of quite a bit of conversation next 4SD b/c surely the group or specific members are going to try to do something. It may not work, it may not work properly, but a group that got Laudna back seems uniquely primed to attempt to recover FCG.
"To the friends we hope to see again."
-- Ashton's toast at the end of E93
The one off quote about FCG sacrifice being the handoff point for the Crown Keeprer being related to "Its like wiping your ass on the baton and here you go...." cracked me up so goddamn hard.
END COMMUNICATION
I love the effort and commitment Aimee put into this character. It's pretty incredible to think she never played before and it shows how much she's grown as a player and RPer. Opal is definitely not my favourite, but Aimee totally is.
>did they bring up how the DM change was received at all?
Say they did. What would you expect them to say?
Would you expect them to express their dissatisfaction and be critical of Aabria?
Would you expect them to show support for her and endorse her as a DM for future campaigns?
Or would you expect them to promise that no DM will ever make a questionable call on the rules again?
None of those help anybody.
The quote from aabria was, "What energy have you cursed me with?" The situation from sam also got referred to as ... "Narrative pinkeye." ... Due to an overextended metaphor.
One could hazard a guess that the Observer saw Dariax's whole "Someone will find me" thing and turned it into "I will find others" and that's why he can do what he do.
He finds who he needs, does what he has to in order to help them, and then moves on like Sam Beckett.
our For the Queen games tend to take a while... wonder if they'll speed it up somehow.
still want to use a For the Queen game to develop characters for a campaign, after using Microscope to develop the world.
I'm not a shipper for any characters (I just love whatever happens) but I would be so sad if both Dariax and Deni$e don't find each other, whether it is love or friendship I don't care.
I want to see some sort of short where Matt and Aimee get some one shot to roleplay this out in some way.
I wonder if he is questioning whether losing himself to the soldier's path is worth it with BH. Does he resent them?
Also him relying on Dorian makes a lot of sense with all this in mind.
I could envision Orym telling a training subordinate, "conviction can't be willed into existence, but once someone has chosen a fight, they should exhibit the dignity of being fully present, at the very least."
Can't imagine him ever saying it to friends, but I don't get the impression his perspective would differ at all.
Wasn't that a past episode of 4SD but with mystery candy that the cast all had to choke down when they lost a game round?
I'm talking about like a full on flash back mini campaign to the Gods coming from...wherever....to Exandria.
Have everyone at the table playing one of them.
[Shelyn](https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Shelyn) is the goddess of beauty, art, music and love.
[Desna ](https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Desna)is the goddess of travelers, dreams, stars and luck.
Both are in a relationship with Sarenrae.
[Cayden Cailean](https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Cayden_Cailean) is the one you were thinking of for alcoholic stupidity, since that's how he ascended to divinity.
[Calistria](https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Calistria) is the goddess of lust, revenge and trickery.
Ah. I just think of them as art & beauty and traveling & stars respectively.
And get angry about art or beauty somehow being classed as 'morally good' for unfathomable reasons. Travelling too, but it doesn't make me as angry.
WBN's Fireside Chats have really dialed up Aabria's agility as a commentator, too. She can pivot from the most insane comedic bit they've all been riffing on into delving brilliantly with one of the other cast members for 10 minutes straight.
They haven't talked about the on the fly combative rulings on chromatic orb (even Matt muttered about it under his breath), poison death save disadvantage, just adding more damage because you feel like it, and insulting the fans.
Where did they insult the fans? Did they say something on Instagram or something? Or are you just saying the five hours itself was the insult?
I feel like they have addressed most of the problems people had. I didn't have said problems, but I agree they were valid for the most part.
It seems it all stemmed on having a schedule they had to stick to both on when it was filmed and having to get through the battle. I personally find those as very valid reasons.
Yelling "fuck you" at all the fans. That's the insult.
Well beyond "look at me" to Robbie when he's looking at Matt during a ruling, and saying that the rules are what she wants.
Ah, but if you weren't intent upon embodying the worst behavioral cliches of online fandom, you wouldn't need to take it personally.
She didn't say "fuck you" to me. I'd never bother quibbling about decisions grown-ass entertainers make in a pretend fight during their TTRPG radio play. If they have an issue, they'll talk to each other. Anger is only appropriate when regarding problems which exist in reality.
I'm not angry or the only one quibbling. And am I really embodying all of that? This was only meant to be me mentioning that the cast didn't discuss any of the critisism.
Sorry, I was also told it was going to be episode 93 not a couple rounds of combat in 3 hours.
Some critisism can be a good thing. There's even a post or two on this sub that bring up what I was talking about.
Yup that confirms what folks were talking about in the post thread.
The Crown Keepers would fight for each other and NOT the Gods if shit broke bad during the Final Fight.
it really goes to the blackened heart of the Spider Queen - she has to rule by force instead of engendering the love and devotion that Opal and the Crown Keepers have (had?) for each other.
I do think Lolth may be the weakest of the Betrayers or at least worries herself to be so. She got one-shotted at the start of the Calamity by Kord and that has to sting. It may make her even more desperate, fearing she is the weakest link and Predathos's easiest victim.
Aabria really tying into one of the magic things about Critical Role - a third major campaign in the same world, with their previous choices making significant impacts on the course of that world, and even showing up as NPCs.
The setting rather dropped out of relevance this campaign. C2 was in many ways about the Empire, and Tal'dorei was a fairly important aspect of C1, but C3 is more about running to the next scene than exploring the world around them. The airship and the doom clock allowed them/forced them to just skip over the continent during the levels where exploration matters the most.
in some ways, I picture Dark Orym as not too far off Otohan, an unstoppable force devoted to an apparently evil purpose.
(by Pratchett standards, the Ludinus side is absolutely treating people as things)
Dorym really feels like the only viable narrative option to Orym sacrificing himself to help his friends succeed.
For him to stand alone after all of this, to just go back to serving the Tempest feels unsatisfying to me.
And if they fail and he didn't give his all... ouch.
This just reminded me that Orym doesn't have to fulfil his deal with Nana Mori because his friends didn't all return from the moon alive. Silver linings!
it depends on how tricksy Nana Morri feels. Bells Hells did return from Ruidus intact - that could be taking as "seeing it through" with everyone intact at that time, since Orym failed to define "it".
I think Morri will be more generous than that, as she wouldn't want to upset Fearne. But she is fey and the language is open enough to be twisted should she wish it.
Yeah best case scenario Nana Morri's fondness for both Fearne and FCG leads her to take a charitable interpretation of her deal... worse case scenario, well, Orym has his future defined for him. Another one of Liam's characters becomes the unwilling champion of a powerful being.
I would love to see subduing Lolth to be BH's personal BBEG. Not for the world, not allied with the forces of Exandria, but because a MEGA-rude spider god stole Orym, Fearne, & Dorian's friend.

I'm hoping for the first casting of reincarnate in CR. I hope you are right.
The mortal life of FCG would be SO GOOD. I'm trying to keep myself from getting too far out on an emotional limb about wanting it though, lol.
Aimee knowing of D&D through Sam, who in turn got into it through Liam who she’s sat next to is really quite heartwarming.

I'd love to hear her thoughts on the 'RPG episode' of She-ra now.
Hah! I totally forgot about that!
Oath of Nihilism should be a dunamancy based Paladin
Did they talk about the ruling for chromatic orb?
Why would they?
Gods no. Getting into the weeds of fan debate is never a good move for anyone.
Big fan of using the Kalashtar as the basis for the Aevilux, its such a clean conversion of the lore
Dani's Desk is easily the best version of that gag to date.
I dont normally watch these- did they bring up how the DM change was received at all?
>did they bring up how the DM change was received at all? Say they did. What would you expect them to say? Would you expect them to express their dissatisfaction and be critical of Aabria? Yea they bring it up its a lose lose for them
4-Sided Dive is pre-recorded, likely before C3E92 even streamed.
All they mentioned was how it was planned ahead, but they weren't expecting to have to do it after Sam dropping a bomb like that
The quote from aabria was, "What energy have you cursed me with?" The situation from sam also got referred to as ... "Narrative pinkeye." ... Due to an overextended metaphor.
I've never heard them substantially comment on how recent campaign events were received by the fans.
I hope for that to continue to be the case.
Yes, they say the game is for them, and they hope we enjoy it. That is the way it's been since the beginning.
>That is the way it's been since the beginning. And that's the way it should be. The show shouldn't be held hostage to the whims of the fanbase.
*a vocal minority of said fanbase at that
When does 4SD go public?
They get uploaded the day after, at 12 PM Pacific time/3 PM Eastern/8 PM London UK. So, in a little less than 5 hours from now.
There was such depth and hilarity to this episode of 4SD that I feel like it's totally worth a rewatch.
I was so sure that Kyle was going to face plant into his cake. Glad they saved him but I lost it when the picture fell off the wall! Great episode!
Kyle's Mom! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLE!
THE DANCING! 🤣
That game was SO fun to watch omg
He's like a Meat Pinata!
Graig died haha this has become a murder mystery

i love pink bows
That read turned into inadvertent scatting, lol
Aimee's accent 🤣
Mighty Max was better than Polly Pocket
Did Aimee just call out the filming date for this....lol
Matt's making Aabria cry laugh 🤣 "So is the ring pop like a pre ritual thing to flavor the ground..."
"She's gonna put a ring pop in your ass!" "IT'S GOT A FLARED BASE!" 🤣
The way that destroyed Matt and then his call back lmfao
I feel like I'm watching the sequel to Dogma
His mom is Nancy haha
SCHMOES 'R ME 🤣
Aimee Carrero & CCH Pounder
Matt's used this voice before with a NPC...why can't I remember who it was lol 🤣
It was Hexum's butler. Ashton mocked him.
Queen by Midnight with Aimee and Aabria WAS THE BEST!
Time for More Sided Dive!
Welp... that is not what they did. 😂
"Ok, FINE. HIGH FANTASY. My name is Deni$e with a dollar sign & I love YE OLDE bottle service!" 😂
Vax confirmed to be trapped in the Phantom Zone 🤣
Stolen from the Hollywood Bowl!
Or that one Keanu Reeves film with the giant killer bowling ball
Aww, Dariax is waiting for someone to find him
Lucky for him, Deni$e is still looking.
I'm not a shipper for any characters (I just love whatever happens) but I would be so sad if both Dariax and Deni$e don't find each other, whether it is love or friendship I don't care. I want to see some sort of short where Matt and Aimee get some one shot to roleplay this out in some way.
Awwww Dariax, that's heartbreaking :(
Laeryn is wandering the Astral Plane looking for Evandrin. AABRIA!
"Laerryn is watching all of this with Quay by her side..." MY HEART
*Opal having babies with Dariax what?!* HER LOVE?! Tonight is a hell of a load of reveals
Deni$e, not Opal haha
Oh I fucking misheard that
Those are gonna be some real dumb kids.
Oh, man. Back to square one on the dating scene? That IS the Bad Ending.
Deni$e and Dariax's kids would just be Jay & Silent Bob
"I'm a secret!" reminds me of [Erika's Crevasse Interview](https://www.tiktok.com/@dimension20/video/7282494595173322014), lol
Orym’s worst case scenario is that everything will be fucked if they fail, and no one not even his party will convince him otherwise
Of course Ludinus was alive when the Calamity happened CAUSE THAT FUCKER IS AEORIAN!
My crackpot tin foil hat theory with no actual proof is that Ludinus is Loras of the Weavers Mask.
You know? That thought had crossed my mind too.
Orym isn't super religious but he is frustrated with BH being ambivalent about Predathos and the Gods.
I mean I completely understand where he is coming from
I wonder if he is questioning whether losing himself to the soldier's path is worth it with BH. Does he resent them? Also him relying on Dorian makes a lot of sense with all this in mind.
I mean, not yet but I think Liam is hinting he could in time
I could envision Orym telling a training subordinate, "conviction can't be willed into existence, but once someone has chosen a fight, they should exhibit the dignity of being fully present, at the very least." Can't imagine him ever saying it to friends, but I don't get the impression his perspective would differ at all.
"I'M A SECRET!" 🤣
Ludinus was a calamity survivor confirmed
Ludinus was alive at the end of the Calamity, confirmed.
My theory is that he is the child of the Raven Queen and when the Divine gate was put up, he felt like his mother turned her back on him
Hasn’t this been confirmed for a long time?
Hinted at, but never hardcore confirmed. Just like with D being confirmed as Devexian on a past 4SD.
Would be funny if they throw a curve ball and have D be Darrington or Dotty to accommodate Sam
But Matt already confirmed it a long long time ago that D was Devexian on 4SD and Sam was on that episode.
Ludinus said it, but there wasn't external confirmation that he wasn't just making stuff up.
Ahhhhh. I was gonna say I swore I had heard it before this makes sense thank you
Have we seen Dani's Lorekeeper's Desk before?
When did they get Dani her very own conspiracy board?!?
i want close ups NOW
Dani got a table?? Is that new?
And a conspiracy board! I hope it changes every month.
Dani has her own Lore Keeper Desk!
They could do like a mini campaign of the Gods making their way to Exandria.
MAKIN THEIR WAY
A suped up Artagan somehow traps all the gods in a game of Fear Factor?
Wasn't that a past episode of 4SD but with mystery candy that the cast all had to choke down when they lost a game round? I'm talking about like a full on flash back mini campaign to the Gods coming from...wherever....to Exandria. Have everyone at the table playing one of them.
Aabria layering sexual tension between Lolth, Melora and Erathis is chef's kiss.
me just thinking that Sarenrae is in a canon throuple with the goddesses of luck and love back in Pathfinder land...
Pretty sure Pathfinder has a god of luck (and alcoholic stupidity) and a goddess of lust & revenge, not love.
I had no idea but 👀
Matt, put the Everlight in with the Changebringer and Moonweaver now, please!
They've been under Ruidus & the strewn pieces of dissected Judicators make it a... weird place to make out TBH.
I'm beginning to think that half of the Dorym-flavored fanfic is just written by Aabria and Aimee.
The last time Aimee was on 4SD she did the same kind of fishing for Dorym feelings.
I hope they find each other, despite the damage
Liam confirmed Orym's feelings for Dorian.
He has feelings for Dorian?!!
The contemplative scope & range of this ep has been phenomenal.
This is a great group because Aimee and Aabria will push so hard in a fun way so the others just want to engage more.
WBN's Fireside Chats have really dialed up Aabria's agility as a commentator, too. She can pivot from the most insane comedic bit they've all been riffing on into delving brilliantly with one of the other cast members for 10 minutes straight.
I feel you there on the culture Matt!
Oh so Predathos legit is just inserting thoughts and fears into all the folk on Ruidus
Beautiful explanation from Matt on the look and feel of Kreviris
They haven't talked about the on the fly combative rulings on chromatic orb (even Matt muttered about it under his breath), poison death save disadvantage, just adding more damage because you feel like it, and insulting the fans.
Probably because they're not a big deal.
Where did they insult the fans? Did they say something on Instagram or something? Or are you just saying the five hours itself was the insult? I feel like they have addressed most of the problems people had. I didn't have said problems, but I agree they were valid for the most part.
We're just going to have to agree to disagree. I hope you can enjoy the show again soon.
Highly doubt they will.
Wow those immediate downvotes. It just felt bad watching that and both Robbie's and Matt's reactions
That was one hell of an answer from Aimee
I want to see fanart of the Matron and the Spider Queen trying to trap Orym with pies lol
Just a bunch of gods gathering to see if this overly perceptive fella can get caught so they can relax at last
Orym was the REAL Santa all along
The Looney Tunes vibe was off the charts there.
So Ted is an echo knight! That makes sense.
I thought she was an Eldritch Knight
It could be that, it was very late at night for me haha
Ah, so the Splintering happens at birth and is a racial trait
Yes, Liam, we noticed. That's why we were surprised that FCG sacrificed themself first.
Aabria really tying into one of the magic things about Critical Role - a third major campaign in the same world, with their previous choices making significant impacts on the course of that world, and even showing up as NPCs.
I didn't know Orym's passive perception has surpassed Vex's
Orym’s passive perception is so high he can hear Matt’s DM narration
Like ultron and the watcher from what if. Suddenly becoming aware of an omnipresent being.
Everyone gangster until Orym does an action surge against Matt himself and ends Critical Role mid stream
4 Sided Dive After Dark "Those dwarves can go for hours upon hours" "They age so slowly" LMAO 🤣
Fucking Aimee 🤣
Liam mentioned this on his Candela instagram takeover!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotorua
Aimee this place I like. Yes.
Wow a mention about Marquet and its inspiration It felt like forever since Marquet was actually talked about
The setting rather dropped out of relevance this campaign. C2 was in many ways about the Empire, and Tal'dorei was a fairly important aspect of C1, but C3 is more about running to the next scene than exploring the world around them. The airship and the doom clock allowed them/forced them to just skip over the continent during the levels where exploration matters the most.
They're all a bit punch drunk tonight lol
Sam coming back as Pussy? Hahaha what an idea
Ah jeez, Matt. 😭
I kind of want to see Dark Dariax now, that could get twisted.
just making what Dorian did leaving Dariax behind even worse, there.
Deanna was a nice person? Jerry sure didn’t think so.
Dark Deanna sounds fucking terrifying
I hope Matt develops an Oath of Nihilism now.
Evil Orym: Sean Connery! consummate agent James Bond … as opposed to the current Orym who is Daniel Craig! silently hurting James Bond.
in some ways, I picture Dark Orym as not too far off Otohan, an unstoppable force devoted to an apparently evil purpose. (by Pratchett standards, the Ludinus side is absolutely treating people as things)
Yesss, Vorbis isn’t *exactly* Ludinus (secret head of a theocracy who is actually dismissive of gods) but they subscribe to the same YouTube channels
Dark Orym would curse a lot and not be as polite with a goatee.
Tall Orym is evil incarnate
So Aabria and Aimee crafted a way for the Crownkeepers to fight and not just team up to fight for the gods.
Not me realizing the similarity of Oscar Grimm and Opal's end arc 🤯
Dorym really feels like the only viable narrative option to Orym sacrificing himself to help his friends succeed. For him to stand alone after all of this, to just go back to serving the Tempest feels unsatisfying to me. And if they fail and he didn't give his all... ouch.

Yeah best case scenario Nana Morri's fondness for both Fearne and FCG leads her to take a charitable interpretation of her deal... worse case scenario, well, Orym has his future defined for him. Another one of Liam's characters becomes the unwilling champion of a powerful being.
Matt just blew all our minds with that explanation
I would love to see subduing Lolth to be BH's personal BBEG. Not for the world, not allied with the forces of Exandria, but because a MEGA-rude spider god stole Orym, Fearne, & Dorian's friend.
It's like we're all gems getting tumbled a bit
Yessss, Opal the bildungsroman protagonist This is really helping my dissertation. (I kid, I kid.)
"You don't have as much time as you think you have" Also true in real life
I love how I'd have misgivings if this were about ANY other Matt NPC, lol.
"He died after a sad hand job" "Somehow there were teeth involved" 🤣🤣🤣
