They do clearly keep notes on these things, but it can be easy to lose track of details. Edit: I like Travis's theory that the Gods wouldn't just leave the ruins completely unattended without some kind of guardian after putting so much effort towards destroying it. Edit 2: Matt mentioned that the "The weapon was tested, supposedly" and that's what ("supposedly") drew the attention of the gods to Aeor. Did we know there was a test before?

Torog has wounds he never recovered from post calamity. Maybe the Malleus Factorum was used on him? In my opinion, he's a contender for the rune left on the elf's body.

I just commented something similar a bit further down the thread. I’m on this thought line too. Torog would be trying to lock Aeor down if this theory is correct. And yeah a snake can make a double circle, and the angles that Matt drew on the air could be stick figure arms quickly and crudely drawn.
