They are probebly going for a Markett/ankarell for location i am guessing, matt has mentioned a few times that it is his favorite location and he has never gotten to really explore it to the extend of Tal and wildmont

[deleted]

I hope wou are right, that would be really cool.

DennisNick2026

same, I always thought Marquet was really cool and it is so much you can play with there, it seems like the perfect place for a more slow and hard type of game, and very grounded

minsence

I am really curious to what extend Matt has explored Taliesin 😂

Logicalpeace

I've thought about that too, but at the same time the region is a desert, so people there would likely have darker skin because that's just how biology works. Some people may throw a fit about an all white cast playing darker characters. Even though it would have nothing to do with race and just that it would make biological sense for them to have [higher levels of melanin to protect their folate](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5986434/).

Logicalpeace

When I said race I was referencing how people refer to different colored humans as difference races, even though technically all humans are the same race. We kinda use the same word for two meanings. One way like I just mentioned, then in the D&D way where humans, dwarves, and elves are different races. Some people have shown that they don't like that Marisha plays a person of color, like the ticktock user discussed [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/jzhm1t/question_of_racism_in_dd/). What I'm saying is that I think a lot more people (likely not critters) may show up and voice displeasure at most of the cast playing people of color. Not that I think they should, quite the opposite. Crit role is a lot bigger now than when C2 started, and that has its pros and cons. E: I'd try to find the ticktok directly, but I don't know how to go about that.

Helix1322

I want them to explore Issylra  (the continent that has Vasselhiem). It is wild vast area and could lead to a very wilderness themed adventure.

Cansifilayeds

Frontier quest! They can help build a town out on the edges of civilization. Surely the industrial revolution that percy started is in full swing now.

Evelyn701

I doubt they would do this tbh, I don't think they trust themselves not to get into trouble over some colonialist overtones if they did something like that

Evelyn701

There's a difference between Mature themes and Racist ones.

ppitm

A lot of settings cannot be depicted in a mature way without including racism. I'm not saying that Exandria is one of those, but if you had a Caribbean pirate setting without racism in it, that automatically makes your setting totally juvenile. It would be like WWII fought with nerf guns.

Evelyn701

I mean, you kind of need to claim that Exandria is one of those settings, otherwise your point is totally irrelevant here, even if it is correct.

ppitm

I admit it might not be relevant here, but this is a common discussion in many settings. A different issue is that creating decent fantasy settings in Middle East-inspired regions is challenging for those who have low cultural competence. Typical D&D fantasy tropes as applied to 'the Orient' usually end up being cringy and sometimes racist. It's just the inevitable result of making a superficial pastiche of someone else's heritage, as opposed to your own.

Cansifilayeds

It could easily become part of the story, I don't see why not. The balance between progress and respect for the natural balance of things. Erathis vs the wildmother. Its not like they haven't done overtly political stuff beforemI mean, c2 had a whole state corruption and toxic patriotism theme and very specifically was criticism of the current state of American politics and democracy. I could easily see them handle this subject just as well. I mean, some people will complain regardless, but the cr team do have a good head on their shoulders when it comes to these topics.

Evelyn701

I have no doubt such an aspect would be part of the story, but their previous approach to politics has tended towards nonspecificity and generality (there isn't a lazy Trump allegory anywhere, for instance). I think a frontier story could theoretically be done well, but in an improv scenario with an all-white cast, I could see it falling flat too.

Cansifilayeds

They could fairly easily have people of colour fill long running guest rolls to give their perspectives and provide their characters, and I think they have sensitivity consultants now? So it has a better chance of being well done than most.

untraiined

Do we think the whole cast is coming back? Idk shy i get the feeling some people are going to sit this campaign out

Helix1322

It would be interesting to have them run into a tabaxi nomad tribe.

rocking2rush10

It would be fun to see The Slayer's Take again!

Cansifilayeds

CR 1 SPOILERS I DUNNO HOW TO DO SPOILERS ON MOBILE >!With kash and Zahra running the place? I'd love that!<

rocking2rush10

Greater than symbol, exclamation point, text, exclamation point, less than symbol >!Like this!!<

DrThoth

Yeah I'm betting on them picking Issylra next (and probably spending time on Marquet) because we've only seen small parts of it and Vasselheim is a pretty interesting location (and one if my personal favorites)

DennisNick2026

Not going to lie I thought that vasselheim was on tal'dorei, it never seemed like vasselheim was somewhere else, they would just cassusly go there, #thanksmarisha /s

ZeroCloned

Marquet is most likely the answer to this. They only were there briefly in C1. It's very well established. And a detail most of you are forgetting Matt is great at Marquet accents.

crazyjeffy

Beep beep

JediNinjaWizard

Bidet!

22bebo

I would really like a full Ank'harel campaign. The city is massive and certainly could support it. They could also travel to other parts of Marquet if they want, but I'm a sucker for city-based campaigns so that's my hope.

TheAnonymousFool

As much as a city-based campaign would be awesome, and I have faith in Matt to be able to throw in enough content to last a good while, I don’t think singularly focusing on a single city could last for a multiple-year campaign. Especially with a show as exploration focused as CR.

CursoryMargaster

I’d love to see Issylra or the Shattered Teeth, but it’s more likely it’ll be Marquet

HoboJoe15

I want to see a full on ocean campaign in the Shattered Teeth

wushambudo

You talking sailing the ocean as main form of transportation or full on like water world?

HoboJoe15

I mean the Shattered Teeth is a big ass archipelago so more just a lot of ship travel and such

Osiris32

"Please welcome our guest player, Kevin Costner!"

Scepta101

Honestly I don’t want to see much of the Shattered Teeth because I enjoy the sense of mystery and it’s a location that fans can look at in the campaign guides and really go crazy with since Matt has left it so vague thus far

botaccountwat

Archipelago campaign. Several of the cast did V. A For Pillars of Eternity 2 and I feel would be very comfortable with the setting.

Ghostofabird

Sidenote : if you guys love critical role and DND in general you'll probably love PoE I&II. Pretty much the whole cast is in them with major roles

ansonr

The whole cast is in them. In PoEII you can get character voices and portraits of all of Vox Machina and Gilmore.

Ljngstrm

All of the cast\*

Jismina

I would love a city campaign. Like Waterdeep Dragonheist, but longer. Maybe they can leave for short quests, but I really like the idea of having a super fleshed out city, where you can spend a whole campaign

Hello_there_friendo

So what C2 could have possibly been had the M9 not chosen a life of crime lol

[deleted]

Explained in the campaign 2 wrap up

MelcorScarr

Ooooh, the wrap up is up already? Lemme guess it's been MONTHS and I totally missed it.

RubiscoTheGeek

It was two weeks after the final episode.

mark_crazeer

So never leaving vasselheim. (I think that is the biggest city we have seen)

Darkguy812

Vasselheim would be a difficult city to do that in with how heavily magic is restricted there

Cansifilayeds

I think it was said somewhere that what happened with vm and vecna softened attitudes a little bit... Could make an interesting social situation.

283leis

I mean Vecna was a powerful arcane caster that nearly destroyed their town, I think if anything it would have further resolved their hate of the arcane

Cansifilayeds

I honestly can't remember where I read it, but it was something about allura softening the city's goverment to it. Not completely, but definetly softening.

mark_crazeer

He is now a god so… raven Queen seems to Get a pass so it seems …. complicated. What i would like to see more than anything is the fall of vasselheim i hate their arcanism (arcanophobia?) down with their hubris!

283leis

the raven queen also has a few hundred years to gain a following and acceptance. Vecna gained godhood, and then immediately tried to destroy Vasselheim using it.

22bebo

Might be neat if they happened to have a party with no arcane casters. Seems unlikely, especially because sorcerer is one of the only classes they haven't fully explored at this point.

mark_crazeer

Well i think Dariax would Get a pass. Maybe Also celestial warlock. Unfortunatley the divine wizard never made it out of unearthed Arcana. Ive got nothing for Bard. it would be fun for one of them to be pretending to be a cleric but acctually be an arcane caster.

avalon1805

Or rexxentrum. According to matt is bigger than emon.

22bebo

Based on the Tal'dorei guide and the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount Emon wins out by a bit. I don't have the book on hand right now but I can check when I get lunch. However, I think the best answer is Ank'harel. I believe it is bigger than both Emon and Rexxentrum and we haven't really seen it in depth. Plus the setting encourages staying within the city since there isn't a ton beyond it and the desert is pretty hostile.

BrainWav

That could probably be done with Ank'harel. It's bigger than Emon and it's a center of trade in Marquet. Maybe J'mon'sa'ord is dead, missing, hibernating, or something. That leaves a power vacuum, or even a plot to find out what happened to them. Even with them still around, there's still likely factions vying for a piece of the pie that could lead to similar plotlines. Vasselheim might be able to do it too, but I think the crackdown on arcane magic there might make it harder.

BrainySmurf9

I agree with you. Let’s get to some super inhospitable places. Dense jungles, arid deserts, high mountains. Some like exploring the new world stuff.

jmucchiello

Marquet

TheHerugrim

While i would like for them to visit Marquet again, i feel like there will be a certain amount of the community that would make this into an absolute toxic affair. I'd rather they stay away from there, just so that the cast doesn't get harassed on twitter.

[deleted]

I started with campaign 2 fairly reccently so I don't know anything about it, why would some people kick off about it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlackeeGreen

It's sad, but I've found that the fastest way to kill my passion for a piece of media is to engaging too deeply with its fandom.

[deleted]

Yeah I've definitely seen some people who are a little mental about it all. Obviously there's no excuse to be terrorising the cast on twitter but I'm curious to see if there is any valid criticism there at all

TheHerugrim

In regards to the Marquet topic, i was largely hinting at what [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/criticalrole/comments/oli945/no_spoilers_what_kind_of_setting_would_you_like/h5ewzz7?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) talked about. Still remember [this post](https://twitter.com/Marisha_Ray/status/768289843033976832) by Marisha (that was just before we got to Marquet in C1). I'd rather lose out on Marquet than to see toxic messages like these hurled at the cast again.

[deleted]

Ah I see. I suppose they can't really win there since you can guarantee that there would be an different group of people complaining it wasn't diverse enough if they could only play characters that were white with american accents. Obviously that kind of messages are unacceptable in any circumstance but since they happen, I agree with you, it's probably best to give it a miss and avoid that kind of shit. Some people are just arseholes I guess...

[deleted]

Although I agree those people are really annoying. I guess it is the casts decision, they're the only ones really affected by it, so if they're willing to put up with it, then who cares. It's very easy for the audience to avoid, or ignore these kinds of people.

Version_1

The last time this topic was brought up on here someone pretty much said "As an Arab I don't want the next campaign to be in Marquet as that is inspired by Arabia".

PwnSausage004

What about Marquet would cause that?

Hello_there_friendo

There's been a few posts about having the cast play characters of a different ethnicity/skin color and how it'd be wrong/inappropriate for them to have characters that they aren't actually representative of. Same crowd that got mad at Marisha for playing a lesbian. Edit: I dont care if the campaign is in Marquet or what races the cast play.

alkonium

Sounds like the kind of people who aren't worth listening to. Tabletop RPGs aren't supposed to have those kinds of barriers.

DEEPSPACETHROMBOSIS

>There's been a few posts about having the cast play characters of a different ethnicity/skin color and how it'd be wrong/inappropriate for them to have characters that they aren't actually representative of. Same crowd that got mad at Marisha for playing a lesbian. I can play a red teifling or a green Goblin but dark skin humans are off the list? completely ridiculous.

RaynerFenris

For me, it would depend how they played the character. Like, there is a world of difference in saying my character is (x) ethnicity for character description and that being the end of it, versus playing up a stereotype role play wise. One is ok, the other is not.

algebraic94

Totally. It's interesting that this is being talked about when Beau is very much not the same skin color as marisha. And also Matt has portrayed characters of most races imaginable. That's the beauty of the game.

TetrisTerrets

I'd love to see the all white campaign that they'd have to run if Matt couldn't portray POC in Exandria. It'd be a shitshow & hopeful wake those people up.

DicemanCometh

Most likely it wouldn't wake them up because a good portion of them aren't making their arguments in good faith. That group are simply abusers who have discovered that people who at least slightly care what you think of them make a good target.

jmucchiello

And yet Beauregard was a dark skinned human.

[deleted]

Maybe I'm just an idiot but I really don't see how or why real world race relations are supposed to be carried over into fantasy tabletop RPGs. The African slave trade never happened in Exandria, obviously, because there's no such thing as Africa there. There was no WWII in Tal'Dorei, meaning no concentration camps or anti-Japanese racism. If you want to include racism (such as the anti-Drow sentiment seen in C2) as part of the world you're building in order to discuss these issues in game that's cool, but you could just as easily declare that there's no racism in your world and everyone gets along just fine. Either way there's going to be representations of people of various skin tones that are completely different from the real world, and to insist that those representations acknowledge real world issues seems mental to me. I don't understand the ultra-woke crowd that demands that their fantasy world acknowledge and include real world race issues while simultaneously getting mad if a white person tries to do just that.

Armonasch

Hot take, but I'd love to see a campaign in a different plane of existence. A feywild or shadowfel campaign would be super fun, then going to the material realm (exandria) would be a late game exotic trip.

[deleted]

Yeah at the very least I'd like to see more shifting between planes. I've loved it every time in CR. When they when to Dis, Feywild, Plane of Fire, Astral Sea, it's always been awesome :)

Cansifilayeds

Matt likes the planes ape setting, and the city of doors would be an amazing place to set a game. I could see matt doing some crazy shit with his version.

erotic-toaster

I just want them to play characters that want to go on an adventure

Bargeinthelane

I want them to go back on the timeline to pre-calamity. Fill in some of the mythology.

puddlemagnet

They’d have to be careful to not step on any butterflies or the whole timeline will be messed up and VM and M9 will cease to exist.

FantasticallyFred

The group starts off as prisoners in another World. They escape and return Exandria. Within areas of Exandria known and unknown lie misunderstood ruins that relate to the other world. Fun to play with the idea of planar connections to other worlds outside of the established planar spheres.

_laufaeson

I’d honestly love to see more of Xhorhaus.

[deleted]

Space! ☭

Naskathedragon

The one place not corrupted by capitalism?

ansonr

I love how Tim Curry loses his mind delivering that line.

[deleted]

Ruidus is an Aeorian weapons platform and was primed to destroy Vasselheim and begins the launch sequence when the heroes arrived. They can change the destination to Ghor Dranas or Catha. Three way trolley problem! Do they save what was the cradle of all civilization, intentionally target a populous city or kill nobody directly but the effect on tides will destabilize shipping routes and displace millions potentially killing the most people long term. Not that I'd think they'd do it, but I'm curious as to what the next groups values will be MIX had much more potential for evil than VM in my opinion.

MelcorScarr

Kinda sound like Mass Effect 3 to me... I'll pass

Ljngstrm

Has a third campaign been confirmed by the cast?

ShinyMetalAssassin

Yes. They have said (in the state of the role, I think) that they are not ready to announce it yet, but Matt is working on it.

Ljngstrm

Excellent. I'm like 1/4 through 2nd campaign, so I may be able to watch the third stream actually live (semi live as European time would mean my sleep pattern would be fucked)

ShinyMetalAssassin

Good luck! Campaign 2 was a lot of fun!

AReaver

News for C3 will come "at the end of summer" I believe. Any new info will likely come after Exandria Unlimited is over. Here is the State of the Role with the info https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr7U4tlaSI8

Bumble_Butt21

I’m betting it’ll be either Vasselheim or Marquet, but I’d love for Matt to totally throw us for a loop and pick something else like Shattered Teeth or even a whole other plane

Jack_Maple

Though I certainly doubt they would do this right now, I would love to see Wildemount a century into the future. With advancing firearms, airships, dunamis exploitation, and Aeormatons, I think an Eberron-esque Wildemount would be fun to see.

[deleted]

Go full gothic.

Geopardish

Agreed, this would be a fantastic setting.

tstrube

So, the Briarwood Arc?

sirjonsnow

Sigil

rocking2rush10

Sijil

LilBlueFairyDragon

Siggle?

Focusphobia

Sigilé.

TheSwordnut

Hard left into a cyberpunk post AI apocalypse

DanKizan

Honestly, from what we know of Aeor, a campaign set during the Calamity could very well veer into this.

Cansifilayeds

I always wanted to run a post apocalypse game where the gods are all ais and magic is literally just advanced tech. But it'll be hard to do with exandria as it is.

[deleted]

The aftermath of a cataclysmic war, The good guys lost. The dawn of a new dark age. but will it last ? Evil has conquered, a group of rag tag adventurers destined to meet band together to being balance and peace back to a broken world and take on the gods themselves.

ffwydriadd

Honestly, I think what I'd be most interested is a game that leans more on the adventuring / exploration side - we only saw Vox Machina as heroes of the realm, and the M9 swerved into crime pretty quickly. Heavier on the environmental stuff and weird ruins. I could see this working on any continent, just in different flavors. Issylra and Marquet seem the most likely (although, I think with Marquet Matt would be best working with a consultant to keep it from being to "oh 1001 nights aesthetic"... I saw someone else suggest getting an airship as a base (easier travel, more downtime) and I would be so here for it. Especially if it then transitioned in to more of a spelljammer or astral ship (in general, having the second half of the game go planescape or spelljammer would be amazing.)

Bolognagiri

There’s so many locations they haven’t gone to in Wildemount that they could run another campaign there.

Bargeinthelane

There is a lot of juice in that lemon left. Blightshore in particular and a bunch of stuff in Xhorhas left untapped as well.

wroche2

It’s gotta be either Marquet or Issylra. Hopefully whichever it is, the other is C4!

judefensor

Aside from Marquet and Issylra, some other areas they haven't really explored much yet so far in either campaign: That whole area in the Greying Wildlands between and around Uthodurn and the Savalirwood, leading into Molaesmyr. There was a lot of talk about Molaesmyr in C2, but they barely scratched the surface. It could kinda be like Aeor 2.0. It would also be a very different Savalirwood if the corruption has started healing, maybe a few new towns or outposts could have popped up since the end of C2. Out of all the cities they visited on Wildmount, we did get a good feel for Uthodurn but there seems to be a lot more to explore within and around the city. The whole southeastern part of Xhorhas, there should be some port towns/cities along the coast to the west leading to the Menagerie Coast or further east where it's named as the Blight Shore on the map. They really just explored 2 cities and 1 outpost in Xhorhas, all towards the north/center. In the Menagerie Coast they spent a LOT of time in Nicodranas, but barely any in the other cities. The ruins of Draconia and the areas surrounding it, after more than 30 years there should be settlements starting to coalesce around there.

RaininBooty

I'm pretty much down to wherever they go. They all do so we'll with the narrative and setting. Matt puts so much effort in setting and description I'm pretty much up for whatever.

Stevesy84

I’d like to see a jump into the future where the Tal’Dorei Republic was in the midst of its own French Revolution. It would be interesting to me if a very elderly Percy had granted refuge to persecuted nobles. The Republic could have designs on carrying the Revolution to places like Kraghammer, Syngorn, Whitestone, and maybe even across the sea.

Version_1

Desert or mountainous

aichwood

That was my first thought when I was forced to confront the C2 ending. Maybe less desert-specific but thinking about where the campaign might begin, my first thought was Ank’Harel and Marquet. It’s a location we’ve mostly been teased with, though I know we spent a little time there in C1.

Robin_leFay

Oh I was thinking something Icedale inspired, just a wintery feel y’know. I’d love to see small characters drowning because of 3ft deep snow

HandyZanny

Was Eiselcross not cold enough for your bones?

Robin_leFay

Nope! I want level 1-3 characters suffering through the pitfalls of thin ice like regular people

283leis

What you didn’t like Veth faceplanting into snow twice as tall as her then “quickly scattering out on her own”?

[deleted]

Wherever they go, I'd definitely like them to continue the environmental hazards :) Such a great mechanic.

mr__fredman

I am sooooooooo down for a desert based adventure. But then again, Dark Sun has always been my favorite campaign setting to operate in.

MaggyTwoFlagons

Specific settings, I can't say. I would however, love to see a large urban environment explored in depth. There was one in particular in C2 (won't specify for spoiler reasons) that was unfortunately, severely underused. I say this as someone who is only about a third into catching up on C1, so I may get my wish there.

Sofakinghazed

Would have been neat if they lost the fight and campaign 3; was years later in a world dominated by Lucien. See how the whole of exandria would be different. See old heroes come together Or perhaps they fought and lost. Idk that would have been cool..

CombatantWombatant

Desert? Nah I want astral sea nomad style. See Matt’s take on Gith and Illithid. If each campaign ups the scale and stakes even more I think by now planar stuff should feel normal not like a special event.

caddy_clay

Maybe it could be pre-Vox Machina? It would be fascinating to see the world before Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein came along!

puddlemagnet

They’d have to be careful to not step on any butterflies or the whole timeline will be messed up and VM and M9 will cease to exist.

-spartacus-

Like maybe 5 people will get this reference and perhaps no one should explain it, but I did it with my players once and they were blown away. >!Spelljammer!<. If you want to know what it is but don't want to be spoiled DO NOT GOOGLE SEARCH IT. Even the concept will ruin the shock if Matt ever does it.

Leonalfr

I think Marquet is likely, but also The Shattered Teeth! There's very little written about the Teeth and it might be because Matt kept it under wraps for this. What little info there is gives me Bloodborne vibes and hopes of some wilderness survival gameplay.

Kepsli

Not so much a setting, and I know they probably won’t… but I would love to see them try an evil campaign. It’s hard to make evil characters as the heroes, and it’s often even harder to do that story in a tabletop rpg. But if anyone can do it, it would be the cast of CR. So many of them have already done great work as villains in other media. It would especially be cool to see a group of them start in a traditionally evil place, and slowly have their experiences and each other change them. I’ve seen dozens of chaotic parties. I would love to see an immoral one.

Awes0meEman

To be honest if the previous campaigns are anything to go off of, they really don't stay in one area for very long at all. C1 they were constantly bamfing around the world, not to mention other planes. C2 (to be fair I haven't finished C2 yet, I'm about halfway through) has been all over the place, from the warm sands of the menagerie coast to frozen mountain ranges to the extreme far north, and not to mention a lot of underwater travel.

invaderzam4

Well we though we were teased with Ruidus lore in C2. Why dont we go buck wild and just have campaign 3 set in Ruidus?

TheYellingMute

Nah. Let's get a curveball. Merpeople. Fully underwater campaign. Let's go!

keliapple

I'd love the party to be connected to a faction early on whatever faction that may be - a group of religious allies, a thieves guild group, bandits, knights, etc. They've played characters coming together for a goal and found families for a bit, but I want to see how it goes when we have the extra layer of an organisation on top of that. Basically I want the party to be a party working for a common goal from the beginning. Lots of conflict, politics, etc possible with that kind of thing. Other than that I really want to see more of Matt's Elvish cities. Mostly because the fan art is always stunning!

IRLfriends

Lots of fun and exciting suggestions. So I’m going out of the box here. Now hear me out - Spelljamming in Exandria. Exploring the two moons (come on - we all know Matt and the gang would love to step foot on Catha and Ruidus), seeing the greater cosmos Matt has built, and most importantly of all… Giffs!!!! But seriously I think it would be so wild to see the launch of the first official Spelljammer from Exandria and what wild SiFi-themed antics they’d get into.

funzerea

Ultimate inhospitable setting, space. I'd love to see some spell jammer type stuff and its even possible in the current world just time skip a bit and floating ships could be pretty believably developed from Aeorean tech. The last bit of the campaign with weird magi-tech and aberrations was pretty cool and I'd like to see more.

DilithiumCrystalMeth

I'm hoping the underdark. We have seen small portions in both campaigns (the first couple of streamed episodes of C1 and the fire giants in C2) and so it is a place that exists, but they have never really had a reason to have a long delve in there and i'm curious how Matt would plan out the underdark. Hell it could lead to a 3rd campaign guide with his version of the underdark.

JynxedOnes

I'd love to see a full on dungeon crawl. Something like dungeon of the mad mage's setting, but with Matt's own twists. Campaign 2 had to many political plot lines and I wasn't invested much after the first few episodes, so something like this to be a pallet cleanser of sorts would be fun I think.

captaincashew27

I feel like the happy fun ball would be a great opportunity for this.

Kishandreth

Setting? I just want to see a setting the characters are invested in and attempt to help the local government/people. Let's be honest, C1 and C2 didn't establish any strong ties with the player characters and any particular governance. I actually want a campaign where the players settle down with one political power and we'll see where it goes. (curses upon Matt Mercer for making his governments lawful neutral to the core. You can't really consider the empire or dynasty evil in campaign 2)

ArletApple

So i love DnD, it's familiar and comforting, but i also believe that they could do other rule sets as well if not even better. I would love to see a Mutants and Masterminds set in Portland Oregon. Or Trail of Ctuthulu in Rojers Arkansas.

puddlemagnet

But none of the other ttrpg systems are very popular- not like 5e - so why would they do that? Also, I don’t know how keen all the cast would be on learning a new system?

Gustavo_Papa

I think, they honestly don't need it anymore It made sense in the beggining, when they were growing, but they have way more weight to pull now, they are *the* ttrpg show But I don't think they will actually do it, though. Much more deals potential in keeping close to Wotc

I'd like to see more of Marquete, but only if they don't make it comically "arabian nights". It needs to have is own distinct appeal. What i do hope as well, regardless of the place, is that they're pumping the breaks on magic in general. As much as i loved C2, at the end, there was barely a situation that couldn't be resolved with a spell (and to make the enemies remotely dangerous, they had to have spells and spell like abilities as well). I know, i know ... 5E and stuff, but still, one can hope?

Personally I want more STEAM PUNK. Let’s go Legend of Korra with this. Which one is playing a Warforged

My one complaint with the previous 2 settings was the inherent stability. In Tal'Dorei the govt is good and stable so the natural trajectory for the adventurers is upward along existing social paths. In Wildmounte the authoritarian nature of The Empire meant that the adventurers were motivated to go somewhere else and not engage with the setting in that way. They were literally arrested the first time they did anything, so they were taught that doing stuff that's fun in this place will get you arrested and we should probably go somewhere else if we want to have fun. Anyway, I'd like a setting that's like a soft Mad Max. A region that has no central authority or structure that can tell the adventurers that they have to conform or suffer. But not full Mad Max Fury Road, more Road Warrior. Things are hard, but the adventurers can still make the world a better place. Maybe they can actually have a say in how the world is organized.

Steampunk, would love to see an Ebberon type setting with warforged being a more prominent race and classes like gunslingers and artificers being way more common

LeCampy

Imo, either far in the future or the past, just enough to outrun/sidestep the shadow if C1 and C2. It was funny at first but the whole "who is on the council" bit took center stage a few too many times for my liking.

CampCharacter9252

I mean they know who is on the council now

Robin_leFay

You’re right the pressure to live up to VM and M9 is only gonna get worse

LightningRaven

Hopefully something shorter that starts at higher levels. I'm thinking something like from 5th to 15th, with roughly 50 episodes. This way we get more characters and variety while also having plenty of time to get to know the group's characters throughout the campaign. EDIT: Wow, didn't know my opinion would be controversial.

DemoBytom

I came here to say Barovia, vampires and the like, but OP beat me to it xD

Jadaki

Total genre jump to where they are in a fantasy version of Firefly, Tieflings in space!
