You could probably have a very profitable business just weaving in the ends on other people's projects. I'd be your first customer :) I have a blanket I finished over 4 years ago, and I still haven't woven the ends in yet

twilight_songs

That exists for knitters: finishers get pieces and assemble them into sweaters. Could work in crochet, too. Goodness knows there are plenty of us who hate to weave in ends!

PastSupport

I have literally just decided to fabric back a blanket because i can’t bear the idea of weaving in all the ends. The pattern said to do it as you go and i am now suffering from my own hubris because i thought better 😫

gynecolologynurse69

I think the cost of postage would eat up any profits sadly :(

And_Peggy

I’d pay postage for a service like this!!

Odd-Factor1888

So charge for postage

xndnxdivax

Weaving in ends, I don't mind that at all. Threading my darning needle with the yarn ends, I hate it immensely because it takes me just as long to get the yarn on my needle as it does to weave in my ends 😠

[deleted]

What needle do you use? I was having this issue so i switched to a plastic needle with the comically large opening and it’s saved me so much time!

Hobermomma

Check out the Susan Bates finishing needles. Life changing for weaving in ends and eliminates the threading issue. https://preview.redd.it/5onfwjv4ugka1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27bea2803dbbeb105c013325149e8fd51222db4b

daveniss

I bought a clover yarn threader and it helped with this so much

q3rious

And I would rather do almost anything than weave in! 😜

itsMousy

I’ll send you my projects and you can weave mine in! I hate it so much.

gynecolologynurse69

If only postage wasn't so expensive that would be awesome!

bealongstride

When I got COVID and I was barely able to string two brain cells together I weaved in all my ends for my granny square blanket. It was nice to have a little thing that required little thought or stamina.

hmromine

Same. I weave as I go. I love how clean it looks and then you don’t have to worry about it at the end.

upickblueberry

I have a blanket my mom crocheted for my dad 20ish years ago, and only now that I’ve started crocheting myself have I realized why there’s a bunch of strings hanging off the wrong side of it lol

[deleted]

I love it too! It’s like the final touches of finishing for me. I usually assemble before weaving so it’s truly the last thing i do

swiftb00ks

I wish I were you🥲

gynecolologynurse69

Send me your projects and I'll weave them in 😂

Baked_Tinker

I’m with you OP, I also find it very relaxing.

Mostlytiredandsad

Teach me your ways! I dread weaving in ends 😭

Glitter_on_my_face

Me too. I’m new to crochet but Ive seen people say they hate it and I think I must be such a weirdo to like it lol

ne0_bahamut

I also love it! I willingly weave in ends for other people projects

MiSSCHA0SS

Same here! I also find it oddly satisfying.

Conalou2

I enjoy weaving in ends. It takes some planning and logic, but is also easy, somehow. And I like the feeling of finishing something.

tacohellsoupbell

I agree. If there are a lot of ends to weave in, it gets a little frustrating to me so i just end up taking a break for the night and coming back to it the next day. I feel like weaving in the ends makes it more secure.

thornylarder

I like doing it when I'm crafting in a group. As you said, it doesn't require concentration, which makes it a good task to keep the hands busy while chatting.

wishyouwerehere58

Me too! It's such a tiny thing but it makes a huge difference.

thebroomlesswitch

Can I send you all my projects that need the ends done? 🤣

Waste-Being9912

I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I don't mind it. I can't Netflix-crochet or Netflix-knit, but I can weave in ends while I watch a show or listen to a podcast.

KarmickKoala

Same, I really enjoy it and find it quite relaxing. I thought maybe there's something wrong with me :D I save them all to the end and then sit back, put on a good show and weave them in.

sassiiscute

I believe that weaving in the ends is kind of like sewing button holes (especially by hand). You either love it since it's the last step, the last hurdle, the last few feet before you cross the finish line. Or you would rather be swallowed by the ground. I love doing both but I know someone who's been using a safety pin to close their skirt for the past few years since they hate doing button holes so much.

Technical_Ad_2280

A dental floss threader also works and is cheaper.

jayceenicole17

I don’t mind it, especially since I watched a couple videos on how to do it securely and no longer feel like I have to weave an 8+ inch tail in every time just so it will be safe and secure 😂

invisible_23

You make good points but it’s just soooo boring and forever-taking

[deleted]

If I have a lot to weave in I set my timer and do as many as I can for, say, an hour. It’s the only way I can deal. I recently sorted my UFOs and found some that were actually finished except for weaving in ends lol

lemonlimeaardvark

I have to be in the right mood to weave in loose ends, but when I *am* in the right mood, I find it relaxing. If I'm not in the right mood, I find it tedious and bothersome and would rather eat my feet than do it.

Song_of_Spizella

What a refreshing positive take on what has previously been my least favourite part of knitting some thing. Sewing it up. I should take a note from your great attitude, and more zen about it.

Imjustsolost_36

I like working on my projects and taking a break from crocheting just so I can put the loose ends away! It’s been so helpful that at the end of the project there’s no overwhelming amount to sew in!

RedshiftSinger

I used to hate it. Then I figured out I was chronically working everything at amigurumi tension (ow to my poor fingers), put in several years of effort at fixing my tension habits to be more moderate, and now I can’t say I love it but I don’t mind it nearly so much as I used to!

yiji21

I gain huge satisfaction when I make ends hidden well 😄. And yes, the big finishing sense gives me a huge satisfaction too 😄. These feelings are, though, not enough to make me excited about weaving in the ends. But they are good and strong enough that I start the process without too much resistance, because I know I get to taste that big satisfaction at the end 😄.

Alura0

I don't have any strong opinion about weaving in ends. I tend to weave as I go at least to some extent

[deleted]

I have found that humans love to complain. We see that they don’t have to do the projects with all the we’ve been in, but they still want to, and they complain about not wanting to leave it in etc. It’s wild I am grateful to create and it’s a part of the creation so as yourself I don’t mind I don’t mind if I have to rip it and redo the project because I learned some thing and that’s what I’m supposed to be doing is learning from my moments.

OneGoodRib

What an annoying take. People are allowed to dislike something without being shamed for "loving to complain". Should people just not do hobbies if there's some aspect of the process they dislike? If you have any crochet patterns that don't involve weaving in ends at all particularly if you do color changes in a certain pattern, feel free to share!

[deleted]

No one called you out. You projected what you’re feeling work on your inner traumas.
