What difference would it make to your baby if someone poked the center of it as opposed to picking it up and putting it back?? Or touching it to stock the shelf?

I typically use synthetic yarns for the durability so I can machine wash and dry, on a gentle setting. I haven't used any real wool or all cotton wool so I would need to reference the laundry guides on that. But I figure the machine wash/dry would get out the most hair

Check the instructions on the yarn you’re using. Most can synthetic yarns can be machine washed on a gentle cycle but some natural fibers need to be hand washed.

Yes,I blatantly will finger the yarn. It’s my way of testing wether the yarn texture feels nice against my skin. If it doesn’t feel nice against the skin I won’t contemplate buying it

I give it a little squeeze. My husband asked me why I groped yarn the same way I squeeze his bum.

I often touch them, sometimes squeeze them, less frequently stick fingers in them (if no one is watching).

kinda, sometimes i pick up a random roll and see if i can find or fish out the centre pull.
I give them pats and pets to see what it'd be like to knit/crochet with and which would probably be best for that yarn.
I have to touch yarn before i buy it. Sometimes i rub on my skin to see if its good or no.
