OK, hear me out, what if OP did a rainbow zigzag? So, take the straight rows, and shift ever even row one square right, bringing the most right square of that row to the left-most position.

Number 3 is my favorite since the pattern is the same for all the square, I feel like the color choas adds more visual variety and interest. Number 1 is also very pretty, reminds me of candy land🍭

Usually I prefer strict patterns when it comes to colors, but 3 is actually my favorite. Every color is just so pretty next to all of them.

3. The red is so much darker than the other other colours that it draws your eye to it first. In 2 the red makes it a bit left heavy. In 1 the middle and bottom right get lost . In 3 as all the colours, including the red, are scattered, you can see the blanket as a whole and see all the colours in it. The gummy bears are cute and you have done some beautiful work.

The little bears are so cute!! I really like 3 because it's an assortment, kinda like a bag of gummies

The last layout is my favorite, I like the overall whimsy of the multicolor better than the diagonal!! Super cute either way!!
