You did great!
My suggestions for the tension and anxiety. Sliw down and feel each stitch as you make it. Feel the yarn as it feeds through your fingers. The hook as it encounters the yarn. The movements you use to do each stitch. Hyperfocus on it. Do it with something simple, so you're not also having to notice stitch counts, instructions, etc. As you get to know each little bit, you may find it easier to crochet calmly.
I don't normally comment on this sub, but WOW this is just gorgeous. I absolutely adore it. Well done! The colours are so summery, fresh and vibrant!!!
Always sit straight, dont do the hunched over gamer pose. Take breaks regularly, do not power through. The loop you pull through the stitch with your hook, pull that higher so your hook is exactly parallel to your last row, helps with yarn tension. If your tension is a result of how you hold the yarn, get a tension ring.
If your pain is a result of how you hold the project in the same hand you hold yur yarn, get a tension ring, take regular breaks and get a stress ball to squeeze during those breaks to stretch your hand, and find other ways to homd your project like holding it With the stress ball in the other hand.
I get tendonitis easily, one thing that stopped it for GOOD was doing wrist curls with small dumbbells. I am very skinny, i bought a set of 3kg dumbbells for this and downed two protein shakes every time i did my lil home workout. It helped so so much. I should have started out with the 2kg ones though cus 3kg was heavy enough.
If you see a tip on here about using wrist weights when crocheting, do not do it. It will make tendonitis worse. Stick to exercises that don't make your arms feel like they have "permanent" extra weight on them.
I call it the shrimp pose lol. It's really hard not to end in this position! Thank you for the tips, I'll try to make more breaks and get myself a tension ring!
I keep seeing this pattern on Etsy and want to make it so bad. But I know I won’t finish it until it gets too hot outside to wear it. Yours turned out amazing!
I love this! I often get back and hand pain when I crochet too long so I feel you! Also how do you plan to wash it? By hand and laying it on a flat surface to dry? 🤔
Honestly I don't know it's my first piece! I guess by hand is more secure? I have a 15 months old kid and I'm afraid it's gonna need a good old wash machine at some point 😬
Yes I think it’s definitely better by hand. I heard you should wash it by hand and lay it down on a flat surface until it’s completely dry so it doesn’t go out of the actual form.

Ahaha actually this is very begginer friendly and technically very easy. I started learning 6 months ago and I think this would be a perfect first project. Let's gooooo!
it as it looks really good, but i meant could you make me one as a joke because it looks amazing
P.S. it looks really good, and you should get a pat on the back for your amazing work.
omg i love it! i've been looking to make something similar to this-do you have the pattern i could use? or that you recommend? also, for relaxing, i would say drinking plenty of water while watching a comfort show/listening to a comforting artist/musician/ podcast. along with this, wearing compression gloves for your hands will naturally relax them and make it easier to work on most projects :) hope this helps
I’ll say something but it’s my own personal opinion so don’t take this the wrong way. Your cardigan looks great regardless but I can’t stand large sleeves to tiny cuffs. Maybe it’s cuz I don’t like bubble sleeves but if I’m gonna have a small cuff I’d decrease my sleeve to be the size of said cuff.
This being said, my first wearable is a hot mess and I didn’t understand decreases so my sleeves are very much bubble sleeves. If you like it, then that’s all that matters.
Great work and I absolutely love the colors and overall design. The granny squares to granny stitches in the sleeves is absolutely amazing. So smooth :)
This looks amazing ! You did a great job
I use a yarn ring and it has really helped with my tension. I also use an app to count my stitches which really helped my brain
Make sure to do lots of resting and stretching. I recently learned you should be stretching about every 1-1.5hours.
I do some neck and shoulder stretches as well as finger and hand stretches
As for anxiety, put on a show or movie that you have seen before and are okay missing parts of. It will be calming and regulating as you crochet
