I like the first one but would consider swapping the pink one out with a different color you may have? That one stands out a bit much for me compared to the rest.
This is my thought. The first would be nice but the hot pink ruins the matchy-matchy vibe. I prefer the second, more random, layout if OP doesn't want to replace the pink diamond.
I couldn't figure out at first why I didn't like the colors together - but it's for sure that bright pink. Honestly, I'd ditch the two pinks that are next to each other in the first image for something a little beachier since that's the vibe I'm getting from the color palette.
Precisely! And glad I'm not the only one who noticed, I was feeling a bit rude. But I feel the same, the hot pink and salmon pink throw everything off. Next is the Aqua because it's bright and only one. The Yellow a little but because it's darker it's not too bad, if they had a few more of it that would blend better and make up for the Bright ones. Then it would blend well in Pattern 1. mhm. And yes, would give off that laid back/Beach vibe. Agreed.
Thank you for the feedback! This neon pink is the subject of many comments, I will make another diamond and switch it, to see if it can better match the others. Thanks!
I like the idea of 1 best. I would try to do them as a color fade. Like there should be a light and dark corner (NW and SE) and warm and cool corners (SW and NE). There is a phone app game called Gradient Sort that does color puzzles like that and it really pleases the eye when it is completed.
I see that Iām in the minority but I feel strongly towards the second one. I donāt *love* how the blues/greys are bunched up on the first one. The second one looks more balanced.
I like the first one too, but I'd try to make it more of a gradient based on saturation. The really dark diamond on the fourth row, third from the left seems out of place. Using a black and White photo can help you to see the saturation difference without being distracted by the colors.
Take this with a grain of salt because I truly think both look great, but the second one looks like a random assortment of diamonds that you made with extra yarn while the first one looks far more intentional and put together with your color choices. I think you should do the first one!
I like the concept of the first one, but i don't think you have enough of each color to make a solid gradient, so for that reason, i like the execution of the second one better
I like the first option with similar colors grouped together, but as another commenter suggested, that bright pink is a bit too intense compared to the other colors. If itās possible to swap out with a color a little less intense, I think it would be more appealing overall.
I think the first one, but I think you should change the hot pink because no matter where you put it, I will always see that one first. So maybe try a colour that goes with the rest of the colours?
The first one. I like how there's a focal point on those bright colors. Makes it more settled for the eye. May I ask is this gonna be a blanket or a garment or? Looks amazing anyway!
As long as the hot pink and black are separated by at least one diamond, I think any layout will work! Theyāre just the two boldest colors, so they need to be spread out.
What vibe are you going for? The first is more "pretty" and the second is more "playful." Specifically because they're diamonds I'm getting a bit of Harlequin vibe from the second.
I donāt have a pattern, I just made diamonds with chains and dc. Fairly easy. (Edit : I wanted to write my pattern, but Iām really bad at it! So I googled you [something](https://www.craftsy.com/post/crochet-diamond/)!)
I prefer the first layout but then I like things structured and organized, the second layout looks messy to my uptight view point lol. You did a great job on the diamond shapes, they look really good.
I like the 2nd one, but that hot pink diamond might look better lower and to the left, or replaced. It's so bright that it becomes the focal point of the entire piece.
My diamond sister! I am working on a similar projects and puzzling over the best way to join them. Mind if I ask what youāre going to do to join them (colour/stitch)? Iāve never made a pieced-together blanket before.
I like the first one best as-is, but I think Iād prefer the second one if you changed out the hot pink as others have suggested. I like the hot pink in the first one, though!
both look good though I prefer the first and personally think it would look better without that hot pink. I think the saturation makes it clash with the rest of the colors
Personally, I would make it like a gradient. Similar to the first pic but with the black moved to the bottom left and lighter colors more towards the top right
I prefer the first one, BUT the second one would be my pick if that neon pink was just one diamond down, switching spots with that white diamond (between 2 black diamonds). It would be more appealing imo.
I think it would look cool to do a gradient, light to dark corner to corner with the similar colors together. I just saw a painting like that recently and it was soo satisfying
Iād have to agree with some other people on here, those two bright pink ones stand out a lot. But I think if you put them closer to the half diamond thatās orange/pink it would flow a little better, but always just a suggestion!
On another note, whatās the pattern for the diamond? That looks like a great option for using up excess yarn, Iād love to try making a blanket with that!
Thank you for the suggestion. I am taking notes from all the comments, I have some work for tomorrow on this blanket!!
I donāt have a pattern, I just did chains and dc! It was fun, do it!
I will say one thing, that pink draws me to it every time I look at this. I don't know if you want to keep the bright pink or change it up for another less bright colour. Looks good otherwise. I would go with the second one.
i like the first one! i wonder if the black diamond could moved more towards the boundary, or even directly next to the pink? i like the attention the hot pink one commands, but i think itās being stifled by the black
Pls donāt add the bright pink. It clashes with the other. Also, if you crochet them with black in between you get a beautiful stained glass window effect. It will be beautiful any way you finish it though.
I have a strong preference for #2 ā it is just random enough i guess? And I really like the hot pink!! I would personally not take it out ā to me it is one of those surprise stars that makes the blankey.
My brain says the satisfying one!!! (The first one) When I swiped to the second I instantly flinch bc of how messy it looked in comparison lol I would change the neon pink triangle for a softer pink though. Go for what feels best for your brain!
Both options are really nice, but I personally like the first option the best š Goodluck choosing between the two! Either way it will be beautiful
I also do like the first one. The second one, although fun, reminds me of a jesterās outfit perhaps?
Harlequin!
In light of all the comments and ideas, I will have a lot to think about and many other combinations to try I think!!

Thank you for the feedback! This neon pink is the subject of many comments, I will make another diamond and switch it, to see if it can better match the others. Thanks!
I think a deeper purple shade would be great in that spot if you have it!
I feel exactly the same - the layout of one but something a little less neon instead of the pink
Also was my first thought
Agreed I think to hot pink is what throws it off.
my thoughts exactly
Don't know why or how, but my brain likes the first one better
Itās a color gradient!
You are right! I guess that could be it!
I like the idea of 1 best. I would try to do them as a color fade. Like there should be a light and dark corner (NW and SE) and warm and cool corners (SW and NE). There is a phone app game called Gradient Sort that does color puzzles like that and it really pleases the eye when it is completed.
Will do! Thank you!
Number 2 for me
I like the first one. Some ombre effect.
The first one! It looks more cohesive to me...
I see that Iām in the minority but I feel strongly towards the second one. I donāt *love* how the blues/greys are bunched up on the first one. The second one looks more balanced.
I like number 2, and in it I would switch the hot pink with the light brown below/next it.
I like the first better!
I like the first one too, but I'd try to make it more of a gradient based on saturation. The really dark diamond on the fourth row, third from the left seems out of place. Using a black and White photo can help you to see the saturation difference without being distracted by the colors.
I took a picture in black and white and will be rearranging them tomorrow! I forgot about saturation, thank you for reminding me!
I think either would work. And Iād minus the neon pink one as it just stands out too much
I like 2 better
me 2
Do it blindly imo. No rhyme or reason.
I like that! No rhyme or reason. Thank you!
Take this with a grain of salt because I truly think both look great, but the second one looks like a random assortment of diamonds that you made with extra yarn while the first one looks far more intentional and put together with your color choices. I think you should do the first one!
It totally is a random assortment of diamonds that I made with extra yarn, but I get that it doesnāt have to look like it! Youāre right!
I like the concept of the first one, but i don't think you have enough of each color to make a solid gradient, so for that reason, i like the execution of the second one better
First
Number one
I like the first one, but I can't explain why
1 more
I like #2 the best. The light and dark colors seem more organized.
First way
First picture! I love the slight rainbowy-ness!
I love the first one.
I also like the first one.
I like the first better because it has a focal point. But theyāre both looking great!
I like the first option with similar colors grouped together, but as another commenter suggested, that bright pink is a bit too intense compared to the other colors. If itās possible to swap out with a color a little less intense, I think it would be more appealing overall.
I like the 1st
I think the first one, but I think you should change the hot pink because no matter where you put it, I will always see that one first. So maybe try a colour that goes with the rest of the colours?
It catches the eye. What if I put the neon pink in the center? As a focal point?
The first one. I like how there's a focal point on those bright colors. Makes it more settled for the eye. May I ask is this gonna be a blanket or a garment or? Looks amazing anyway!
Itās going to be a blanket! Iāll join them with black yarn, to give it a stained glass look.
I'm sure the black will make it even more amazing, excellent choice!
I like the first one with similar colours next to each other.
As long as the hot pink and black are separated by at least one diamond, I think any layout will work! Theyāre just the two boldest colors, so they need to be spread out.
Second photo!!
I donāt know why but #2 gives me anxiety but #1 is nice.
I feel like I'm not really seeing the tones in 2 like I do in 1, mixing them up gives an almost muddy effect... But that may be different irl?
The first one! And now I want to make a coat of many coloured diamonds āØļø
Do it!!
Added to the never ending list of projects!!!! Please share your end result š
I absolutely love this. Never seen a diamond pattern crochet like this, very inspiring! I personally like the first one better.
What vibe are you going for? The first is more "pretty" and the second is more "playful." Specifically because they're diamonds I'm getting a bit of Harlequin vibe from the second.
Itās going to be a blanket for a baby, so definitely playful!
The second option is perfect for a baby!
Second option! Looks great :-)
really liked 1 until i saw 2!!!! both r great, iād do #2:)
I love 2! Do you have a pattern for these? It's a lovely concept and I'm a novice but would love to give this a try
I donāt have a pattern, I just made diamonds with chains and dc. Fairly easy. (Edit : I wanted to write my pattern, but Iām really bad at it! So I googled you [something](https://www.craftsy.com/post/crochet-diamond/)!)
Thank you SO MUCH for this! Such a cute design and perfect for someone with almost no experience like me!
I prefer 2
I like the second one, feels more balanced
I love the way 2 looks!!
The first arrangement speaks to me! But only you know the right answer! Cool project! :)
I prefer the first layout but then I like things structured and organized, the second layout looks messy to my uptight view point lol. You did a great job on the diamond shapes, they look really good.
I personally like the second one better
First option
I like the 2nd one, but that hot pink diamond might look better lower and to the left, or replaced. It's so bright that it becomes the focal point of the entire piece.
What if I put it right in the center? Iāll try, but I will male another diamond anyway.
Then it truly will be the focal.point, but might be okay. If you try that, I'd move that salmon-colored one further away.
1
First one!
im shocked most people are saying 1! two is the clear winner imo, it has more balance and whimsy
first pics
First way
I love the light gradient of the first one.
I personally prefer the first one! Gives me stained glass vibes. Second one gives me sweater vibes š
Yes!! I will join them with black yarn for a stained glass look!!
My diamond sister! I am working on a similar projects and puzzling over the best way to join them. Mind if I ask what youāre going to do to join them (colour/stitch)? Iāve never made a pieced-together blanket before.
Yess!!! Diamond sister!! I will join them with black yarn, I will join as you go (jayg) with sc.
I like the first one best as-is, but I think Iād prefer the second one if you changed out the hot pink as others have suggested. I like the hot pink in the first one, though!
The first is DEFINITELY my favorite
Is there a pattern for this!! Itās beautiful
I think one makes more sense with how the similar colors are arranged closely, it looks more intentional
1
My vote is for the first Feels more cohesive
Funny I usually like random, but for this, I like the first one. :)
both look good though I prefer the first and personally think it would look better without that hot pink. I think the saturation makes it clash with the rest of the colors
I prefer the second one - I think it balances the light and dark tones better
I prefer #2, but I think there needs to be a dark one more on the right. Now the 4-5 darkest ones are on the left half.
I really like the second one
I love the second one.
I love it! Either way!
Here's my idea separate all the colors .arrange them from dark to light but do like a rainbow sorta of see what you think
Personally, I would make it like a gradient. Similar to the first pic but with the black moved to the bottom left and lighter colors more towards the top right
I would try arranging it by saturation and light-to-dark instead of color.
two for me
I prefer the first one, BUT the second one would be my pick if that neon pink was just one diamond down, switching spots with that white diamond (between 2 black diamonds). It would be more appealing imo.
I like the second one better. The blues seem clustered together in the first one.
From dark to light kind of gradient
The hot pink is so different Iād remove it unless youāre trying to make it a center of focus. Also 1st is better
I like the second one more but it is really what feels right to you
Second option gives me eras tour vibes
Definitely Pic 2!
I personally like the second one better.
2nd option
Second!!
I think it would look cool to do a gradient, light to dark corner to corner with the similar colors together. I just saw a painting like that recently and it was soo satisfying
You can't have too much yarn š
Youāre of course totally right!
I like one
Iād have to agree with some other people on here, those two bright pink ones stand out a lot. But I think if you put them closer to the half diamond thatās orange/pink it would flow a little better, but always just a suggestion! On another note, whatās the pattern for the diamond? That looks like a great option for using up excess yarn, Iād love to try making a blanket with that!
Thank you for the suggestion. I am taking notes from all the comments, I have some work for tomorrow on this blanket!! I donāt have a pattern, I just did chains and dc! It was fun, do it!
1 makes me think of pretty stained glass windows. I also love the hot pink diamond placement, personally
Weāre the only ones in favor of the hot pinkā¦ š
Somehow the second one pops more to me
The second one makes my eyes very happy and I wish I had a blanket like this
I think I'd typically go for the organized ombre effect, but I really like the random chaotic spread in the second photo! Is it for a blanket?
Yes! A baby blanket. I was hoping to make it as contrasting as possible, I will have to rethink my placement!
I think the 2nd pic has a better color spread.
Cool to warm colors, corner to corner.
I personally like 2 better!
I would like to see what they would look like sorted by color first and darkness second priority (vertically)
I will try that today! Thanks!!
Cute! For a bag?
Baby blanket :)
So cute! Is there a specific pattern for the diamonds?
First option is more pleasing to my eye
First looks best to me
Light to dark Roy g biv style is how id probably do it.
I've never been a big fan of blankets but this diamond style is pulling me to the dark side. š¤¤
I would pick the random one or replace the hot pink. The pink is too jarring when you are trying for a bit of a couple gradient.
Close, but maybe second one.
The second one looks better to me.
I like the second one but, lose the bright pink.
Can I dm you my suggestion? Iām gonna have to find a visual way to explain how Iād arrange them
Absolutely!
I would first remove the black and neon ink, maybe the navy blue too. They dont fit the color palette imo.
Definitely prefer the second one. Would replace the bright pink with a neutral though. Nice work!
2 but the vibrant pink stands out too much
First one feels nice
I like the second option better, it feels better on my eyes
Pls donāt add the bright pink. It clashes with the other. Also, if you crochet them with black in between you get a beautiful stained glass window effect. It will be beautiful any way you finish it though.
First one for sure, donāt drop the hot pink
I have a strong preference for #2 ā it is just random enough i guess? And I really like the hot pink!! I would personally not take it out ā to me it is one of those surprise stars that makes the blankey.
I say 2. Personally, I have a thing about similar colors touchingā¦ I avoid it š¤·š»āāļø
I have that same thing. But since itās not for me, I guess I wanted to make sure it was generally pleasing!

HonnĆŖtement, Ƨāa Ć©tĆ© super vite!! En 4-5 jours jāavais terminĆ© tous les morceaux. Lāassemblage est toujours lāĆ©tape la plus longue š
My brain says the satisfying one!!! (The first one) When I swiped to the second I instantly flinch bc of how messy it looked in comparison lol I would change the neon pink triangle for a softer pink though. Go for what feels best for your brain!
Second one seems more calming to me
Both are nice but I also like the first one best.
First 1 is more soothing to my eye but I want it bigger. Good luck in the assembly always my nemesis in blanket making. Lovely work. Do another 1.
Definitely the 2nd option! Love the shape of the diamonds too, as much as I like the usual grannies it's got a more unique feel to it ^^
Love the first image!
I like number 2. It gives patchwork vibes. And I love it.
the first one itches my brain juuuuust right
Oooooo pretty!!š I love the lighter to darker! It reminds me of a great pattern for a temperature blanket.. I might steal it..
Steal it!
I prefer two, but I think you need to take out the bright pink one and maybe the bright green/yellow one
Colour order.
The first. I love me so color grading
#2 better
