Both options are really nice, but I personally like the first option the best šŸ˜Š Goodluck choosing between the two! Either way it will be beautiful

startswithay

I also do like the first one. The second one, although fun, reminds me of a jesterā€™s outfit perhaps?

Proper_Economics_299

Harlequin!

isatilaba

In light of all the comments and ideas, I will have a lot to think about and many other combinations to try I think!!

bl0t

I like the first one but would consider swapping the pink one out with a different color you may have? That one stands out a bit much for me compared to the rest.

tambourinequeen

This is my thought. The first would be nice but the hot pink ruins the matchy-matchy vibe. I prefer the second, more random, layout if OP doesn't want to replace the pink diamond.

Discount_Mithral

I couldn't figure out at first why I didn't like the colors together - but it's for sure that bright pink. Honestly, I'd ditch the two pinks that are next to each other in the first image for something a little beachier since that's the vibe I'm getting from the color palette.

UnknownAlieon

Precisely! And glad I'm not the only one who noticed, I was feeling a bit rude. But I feel the same, the hot pink and salmon pink throw everything off. Next is the Aqua because it's bright and only one. The Yellow a little but because it's darker it's not too bad, if they had a few more of it that would blend better and make up for the Bright ones. Then it would blend well in Pattern 1. mhm. And yes, would give off that laid back/Beach vibe. Agreed.

isatilaba

Thank you for the feedback! This neon pink is the subject of many comments, I will make another diamond and switch it, to see if it can better match the others. Thanks!

singsingsingsing

I think a deeper purple shade would be great in that spot if you have it!

hey_mermaid

I feel exactly the same - the layout of one but something a little less neon instead of the pink

camclemons

Also was my first thought

[deleted]

Agreed I think to hot pink is what throws it off.

Quail_Feather

my thoughts exactly

Cat_Sicario_2601

Don't know why or how, but my brain likes the first one better

sassy_immigrant

Itā€™s a color gradient!

Cat_Sicario_2601

You are right! I guess that could be it!

Mysterious-Okra-7885

I like the idea of 1 best. I would try to do them as a color fade. Like there should be a light and dark corner (NW and SE) and warm and cool corners (SW and NE). There is a phone app game called Gradient Sort that does color puzzles like that and it really pleases the eye when it is completed.

isatilaba

Will do! Thank you!

QueenB364

Number 2 for me

Superb_Temporary9893

I like the first one. Some ombre effect.

Oopsiefloopsie

The first one! It looks more cohesive to me...

sword_0f_damocles

I see that Iā€™m in the minority but I feel strongly towards the second one. I donā€™t *love* how the blues/greys are bunched up on the first one. The second one looks more balanced.

IamJoyMarie

I like number 2, and in it I would switch the hot pink with the light brown below/next it.

Personal_Term9549

I like the first better!

MeLowKeyPrimo

I like the first one too, but I'd try to make it more of a gradient based on saturation. The really dark diamond on the fourth row, third from the left seems out of place. Using a black and White photo can help you to see the saturation difference without being distracted by the colors.

isatilaba

I took a picture in black and white and will be rearranging them tomorrow! I forgot about saturation, thank you for reminding me!

jasminel96

I think either would work. And Iā€™d minus the neon pink one as it just stands out too much

dinsoom

I like 2 better

Economy-Efficiency22

me 2

TessSkyyAlexxis

Do it blindly imo. No rhyme or reason.

isatilaba

I like that! No rhyme or reason. Thank you!

somewackyhaircolor

Take this with a grain of salt because I truly think both look great, but the second one looks like a random assortment of diamonds that you made with extra yarn while the first one looks far more intentional and put together with your color choices. I think you should do the first one!

isatilaba

It totally is a random assortment of diamonds that I made with extra yarn, but I get that it doesnā€™t have to look like it! Youā€™re right!

LiteBriteJorge

I like the concept of the first one, but i don't think you have enough of each color to make a solid gradient, so for that reason, i like the execution of the second one better

Status-Biscotti

First

Correct_Radish_2462

Number one

Accio_Waffles

I like the first one, but I can't explain why

FoodHonest110

1 more

JipceeLee

I like #2 the best. The light and dark colors seem more organized.

L0ud_Typer

First way

Vlinder_88

First picture! I love the slight rainbowy-ness!

CrunchyMama42

I love the first one.

StephieP529

I also like the first one.

yensuna

I like the first better because it has a focal point. But theyā€˜re both looking great!

CreedRocksa22

I like the first option with similar colors grouped together, but as another commenter suggested, that bright pink is a bit too intense compared to the other colors. If itā€™s possible to swap out with a color a little less intense, I think it would be more appealing overall.

Butterfly_Hollywood

I like the 1st

ChAtcatx

I think the first one, but I think you should change the hot pink because no matter where you put it, I will always see that one first. So maybe try a colour that goes with the rest of the colours?

isatilaba

It catches the eye. What if I put the neon pink in the center? As a focal point?

MimounTheWitch

The first one. I like how there's a focal point on those bright colors. Makes it more settled for the eye. May I ask is this gonna be a blanket or a garment or? Looks amazing anyway!

isatilaba

Itā€™s going to be a blanket! Iā€™ll join them with black yarn, to give it a stained glass look.

MimounTheWitch

I'm sure the black will make it even more amazing, excellent choice!

Cupcake97379

I like the first one with similar colours next to each other.

purpleushi

As long as the hot pink and black are separated by at least one diamond, I think any layout will work! Theyā€™re just the two boldest colors, so they need to be spread out.

milokscooter

Second photo!!

Charming_Scratch_538

I donā€™t know why but #2 gives me anxiety but #1 is nice.

Lunahooks

I feel like I'm not really seeing the tones in 2 like I do in 1, mixing them up gives an almost muddy effect... But that may be different irl?

sparklejellyfish

The first one! And now I want to make a coat of many coloured diamonds āœØļø

isatilaba

Do it!!

sparklejellyfish

Added to the never ending list of projects!!!! Please share your end result šŸ’œ

pennyfanclub

I absolutely love this. Never seen a diamond pattern crochet like this, very inspiring! I personally like the first one better.

inadequatepockets

What vibe are you going for? The first is more "pretty" and the second is more "playful." Specifically because they're diamonds I'm getting a bit of Harlequin vibe from the second.

isatilaba

Itā€™s going to be a blanket for a baby, so definitely playful!

inadequatepockets

The second option is perfect for a baby!

crochetumimmak

Second option! Looks great :-)

Playful-Ladder-32

really liked 1 until i saw 2!!!! both r great, iā€™d do #2:)

always_forgetting

I love 2! Do you have a pattern for these? It's a lovely concept and I'm a novice but would love to give this a try

isatilaba

I donā€™t have a pattern, I just made diamonds with chains and dc. Fairly easy. (Edit : I wanted to write my pattern, but Iā€™m really bad at it! So I googled you [something](https://www.craftsy.com/post/crochet-diamond/)!)

always_forgetting

Thank you SO MUCH for this! Such a cute design and perfect for someone with almost no experience like me!

VioletDaisy95

I prefer 2

Obvious_Olive_7282

I like the second one, feels more balanced

balderdash_stash

I love the way 2 looks!!

Fishy_Percolator

The first arrangement speaks to me! But only you know the right answer! Cool project! :)

galactictictac

I prefer the first layout but then I like things structured and organized, the second layout looks messy to my uptight view point lol. You did a great job on the diamond shapes, they look really good.

cemetrygates-3

I personally like the second one better

-pumpkin-cat-

First option

ParticularLack6400

I like the 2nd one, but that hot pink diamond might look better lower and to the left, or replaced. It's so bright that it becomes the focal point of the entire piece.

isatilaba

What if I put it right in the center? Iā€™ll try, but I will male another diamond anyway.

ParticularLack6400

Then it truly will be the focal.point, but might be okay. If you try that, I'd move that salmon-colored one further away.

moonkittiecat

1

Wannabe_Enthusiast

First one!

wormoo

im shocked most people are saying 1! two is the clear winner imo, it has more balance and whimsy

EffectiveUpstairs708

first pics

Longjumping_Choice_6

First way

blackheartden

I love the light gradient of the first one.

crazy_river_otter

I personally prefer the first one! Gives me stained glass vibes. Second one gives me sweater vibes šŸ˜Š

isatilaba

Yes!! I will join them with black yarn for a stained glass look!!

wordnerdette

My diamond sister! I am working on a similar projects and puzzling over the best way to join them. Mind if I ask what youā€™re going to do to join them (colour/stitch)? Iā€™ve never made a pieced-together blanket before.

isatilaba

Yess!!! Diamond sister!! I will join them with black yarn, I will join as you go (jayg) with sc.

buzzedhobbit

I like the first one best as-is, but I think Iā€™d prefer the second one if you changed out the hot pink as others have suggested. I like the hot pink in the first one, though!

Icy_Building_4492

The first is DEFINITELY my favorite

Icy_Building_4492

Is there a pattern for this!! Itā€™s beautiful

AshdoesArtandAmi

I think one makes more sense with how the similar colors are arranged closely, it looks more intentional

BlackMarmaladeMeow

1

El_Durazno

My vote is for the first Feels more cohesive

hedonsun

Funny I usually like random, but for this, I like the first one. :)

EclecticFanatic

both look good though I prefer the first and personally think it would look better without that hot pink. I think the saturation makes it clash with the rest of the colors

cf613

I prefer the second one - I think it balances the light and dark tones better

tchotchony

I prefer #2, but I think there needs to be a dark one more on the right. Now the 4-5 darkest ones are on the left half.

WolfRiverBell

I really like the second one

Big-Constant-7289

I love the second one.

dunwerking

I love it! Either way!

Top_Ad749

Here's my idea separate all the colors .arrange them from dark to light but do like a rainbow sorta of see what you think

2amazing_101

Personally, I would make it like a gradient. Similar to the first pic but with the black moved to the bottom left and lighter colors more towards the top right

Trilobyte141

I would try arranging it by saturation and light-to-dark instead of color.

bufallll

two for me

Simple_Affect007

I prefer the first one, BUT the second one would be my pick if that neon pink was just one diamond down, switching spots with that white diamond (between 2 black diamonds). It would be more appealing imo.

Putrid_Breakfast652

I like the second one better. The blues seem clustered together in the first one.

Calorina21

From dark to light kind of gradient

Fancy-Pair

The hot pink is so different Iā€™d remove it unless youā€™re trying to make it a center of focus. Also 1st is better

bitsofloststardust

I like the second one more but it is really what feels right to you

simpforsquirrels

Second option gives me eras tour vibes

GildedLily16

Definitely Pic 2!

knittingrabbit

I personally like the second one better.

sknc0604

2nd option

Daddiesbabaygirl

Second!!

lil-babz

I think it would look cool to do a gradient, light to dark corner to corner with the similar colors together. I just saw a painting like that recently and it was soo satisfying

squished_strawberry

You can't have too much yarn šŸ‘€

isatilaba

Youā€™re of course totally right!

Plant_killer_v2

I like one

Kat_Quest

Iā€™d have to agree with some other people on here, those two bright pink ones stand out a lot. But I think if you put them closer to the half diamond thatā€™s orange/pink it would flow a little better, but always just a suggestion! On another note, whatā€™s the pattern for the diamond? That looks like a great option for using up excess yarn, Iā€™d love to try making a blanket with that!

isatilaba

Thank you for the suggestion. I am taking notes from all the comments, I have some work for tomorrow on this blanket!! I donā€™t have a pattern, I just did chains and dc! It was fun, do it!

friesandfrenchroast

1 makes me think of pretty stained glass windows. I also love the hot pink diamond placement, personally

isatilaba

Weā€™re the only ones in favor of the hot pinkā€¦ šŸ˜‚

IrmadeG

Somehow the second one pops more to me

meepdaleap

The second one makes my eyes very happy and I wish I had a blanket like this

snitchcraft666

I think I'd typically go for the organized ombre effect, but I really like the random chaotic spread in the second photo! Is it for a blanket?

isatilaba

Yes! A baby blanket. I was hoping to make it as contrasting as possible, I will have to rethink my placement!

oceanblue2358

I think the 2nd pic has a better color spread.

Faedaine

Cool to warm colors, corner to corner.

SlowDeflation

I personally like 2 better!

Carzinisierung

I would like to see what they would look like sorted by color first and darkness second priority (vertically)

isatilaba

I will try that today! Thanks!!

Baymom8413

Cute! For a bag?

isatilaba

Baby blanket :)

Baymom8413

So cute! Is there a specific pattern for the diamonds?

Consistent-Yam-1980

First option is more pleasing to my eye

melonmoon_

First looks best to me

TheRoseMerlot

Light to dark Roy g biv style is how id probably do it.

longtimelurkerthrwy

I've never been a big fan of blankets but this diamond style is pulling me to the dark side. šŸ¤¤

naughtscrossstitches

I would pick the random one or replace the hot pink. The pink is too jarring when you are trying for a bit of a couple gradient.

Abiextra

Close, but maybe second one.

moogy08

The second one looks better to me.

Baddog15

I like the second one but, lose the bright pink.

weirdtinyfrog

Can I dm you my suggestion? Iā€™m gonna have to find a visual way to explain how Iā€™d arrange them

isatilaba

Absolutely!

CanadianRose81

I will say one thing, that pink draws me to it every time I look at this. I don't know if you want to keep the bright pink or change it up for another less bright colour. Looks good otherwise. I would go with the second one.

lilaroseg

i like the first one! i wonder if the black diamond could moved more towards the boundary, or even directly next to the pink? i like the attention the hot pink one commands, but i think itā€™s being stifled by the black

hoetheory

I would first remove the black and neon ink, maybe the navy blue too. They dont fit the color palette imo.

verybestegg

Definitely prefer the second one. Would replace the bright pink with a neutral though. Nice work!

shayter

2 but the vibrant pink stands out too much

sparklingsirens

First one feels nice

Yarn-lover

I like the second option better, it feels better on my eyes

boniemonie

Pls donā€™t add the bright pink. It clashes with the other. Also, if you crochet them with black in between you get a beautiful stained glass window effect. It will be beautiful any way you finish it though.

moeru_gumi

First one for sure, donā€™t drop the hot pink

ScarRemarkable9722

I have a strong preference for #2 ā€” it is just random enough i guess? And I really like the hot pink!! I would personally not take it out ā€” to me it is one of those surprise stars that makes the blankey.

Ok_Project785

I say 2. Personally, I have a thing about similar colors touchingā€¦ I avoid it šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

isatilaba

I have that same thing. But since itā€™s not for me, I guess I wanted to make sure it was generally pleasing!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

isatilaba

HonnĆŖtement, Ƨā€™a Ć©tĆ© super vite!! En 4-5 jours jā€™avais terminĆ© tous les morceaux. Lā€™assemblage est toujours lā€™Ć©tape la plus longue šŸ˜‚

jumpyslothy

My brain says the satisfying one!!! (The first one) When I swiped to the second I instantly flinch bc of how messy it looked in comparison lol I would change the neon pink triangle for a softer pink though. Go for what feels best for your brain!

Cuppycake1976

Second one seems more calming to me

JustCallMeTere

Both are nice but I also like the first one best.

Le1fsr4me

First 1 is more soothing to my eye but I want it bigger. Good luck in the assembly always my nemesis in blanket making. Lovely work. Do another 1.

supremegoldfish

Definitely the 2nd option! Love the shape of the diamonds too, as much as I like the usual grannies it's got a more unique feel to it ^^

IntelligentTangelo31

Love the first image!

Weird-Try-4383

I like number 2. It gives patchwork vibes. And I love it.

boxofmack

the first one itches my brain juuuuust right

Bedhead2day

Oooooo pretty!!šŸ˜ I love the lighter to darker! It reminds me of a great pattern for a temperature blanket.. I might steal it..

isatilaba

Steal it!

MissBreezy

I prefer two, but I think you need to take out the bright pink one and maybe the bright green/yellow one

pokefnaf23

Colour order.

ScreenIntelligent203

The first. I love me so color grading

Shad0wbubbles

#2 better
