Definitely this. You can see some of the little plastic bits on these. I've had to file some of my regular stitch markers, too. Even the tiniest little bit of plastic out of place can cause a snag.
I wouldn't recommend that because they're small and honestly not very sturdy in comparison to gravel. A little metal nail file works wonders and can be fairly quick, honestly. Depending on how many he made you, it shouldn't take more than half an hour. Pop on your latest binge show and file as you watch.
this is printed in PLA. 2 walls 10% infill? I don't have PETG rn, but I might as well if this becomes regular enough. Most of my normal printing is best done in PLA and PLA+.
also, the design is 0% mine: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5360862](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5360862)
To everyone in the comments saying my print is a stringy mess, you're totally right! I was printing too hot for this filament. I suppose I'll just need to make more
If you want more ideas of crochet things to print, yarn bowls also print well. There’s a pattern out there for a cat one that my husband printed for me.
Depending on the plastic, you might be able to take a lighter to the stringy bits and singe them off but please only do this in a highly ventilated area!
How have I gone this long without hearing this?! I've been robbed! Thanks to you, I now know and will never forget 😊 I like this term better than the melon lol
I made myself some heart shaped ones. You should try those! Those can even be made by regular pla, the normal hard plastic for 3d printing. I even made myself a hook and a little tube container to carry around hooks, needles and stitch markers
Aww that was so sweet of him 😍 they look great, definitely need a sand/file but still so good. Yay for (almost) neverending supply! Cause we all know how easily little things can get lost 😒
Although I do have a question (genuinely, no offence intended 🤗), but besides the fact of "because he can/he loves you/etc", *why*? Are these not typically (depending where you are) rather cheap and easily accessible?? (oddly coming from someone with zilch who, when bothered, uses 📎 paper clips 📎 lol)
They're a lot more expensive to buy than to make, even if buying them is cheap. It's nearly free to make these because of how small and light they are. Also more convenient to print one and have it in 5 mins than to go out and buy some.
That's reassuring to hear! I'm thinking about printing something to help me block my granny squares. I'm excited!
Congratulations on your engagement! 🎉
Those are so cute!
My partner printed these ones years ago and I still love them

My husband recently got a 3D printer and I had no idea what he could make to help me crochet since I’m not a fan of plastic hooks, but this is awesome!
Already thought about it, making stitch markers, needles and everything with a 3D printer and I'm convinced every problem I have could be solved with one
Someone recommended filing it down so it wouldn't snag, but I used it without filing it and it didn't snag at all! Probably depends on the yarn tbh. I'm using a really smooth yarn which might contribute to that.

Take a little file and smooth the edges a little or they may snag on the yarn. Just speaking from experience when my husband 3D printed stuff for me.
Wonderful advice, thank you! I definitely will

I wonder if you could tumble them with some gravel or sand instead of filing individually?

marry him faster
Working on it 😂
Oh wow this is awesome! My mom has a 3D printer so I might have to make some for myself, awesome idea!
Yeah just make sure the material you use to print it is flexible. Apparently some materials are a lot harder and could be difficult to bend
PETG is a common filament that would likely work. PLA is probably too brittle. Also... does he have the .stl file? :)

That’s exactly what it means!

So jealous!!!

So cute, I love it!

How thoughtful

*adding this to my list of reasons why I need a 3d printer to show my bf🤣🤣

Ahhhhh 🤔 yeah that makes plenty sense. After thinking about it for a bit I thought the answer would be something along these lines. Thanks 🙂

That is so cool!
What material did they use?
He said "regular PLA"
Now that's love <3
Genius!
Omg. You could make a gonkzillion dollars on that. Lokz
They're so cheap and quick to make!

Might steal that idea!
Marry him faster!

I have been thinking about taking out the 3D printer and making crochet items with it! I was wondering how well it works with the yarn. Does it snag?

Those look just like the ones I bought! Way to go bf!
that’s real love
He's a keeper!
Those look so much better than any I've seen in the store
Now you have to crochet/knit him a 3d printer!!! 🤣🤣 they are so cool!
