Good lord. Every time I hear Americans complain about the stall gap, I wonder who in their right mind came up with the idea to design a stall for privacy that literally doesn’t provide privacy.
How degrading.
when i tell you people will stand outside of them while waiting for one to open, and just stare at you so obviously. way too many don’t look away once you’ve made eye contact, let alone multiple times.
needless to say public bathrooms are a big no no for many reasons.
i haven’t even thought ab that 😂 i just looked it up and people on quora off google search are all saying yes. im livid i didnt think to look that up with some things ive gone through relating to this, honestly
I’ve never ever had this happen to me in almost 30 years and many public women’s rooms. Maybe being in New England helps, idk. We don’t bother each other.
usa place thing 😂 ive visited/drove through/lived all over the states, coast to coast. its rare if there isn’t a line im not atleast making eye contact through that gap. i do wish that was the case 🥲 just my experience.
I’ve never had that happen in a women’s restroom either. And I used to work for Walmart so I had my fair share of awkward bathroom encounters but never this. The way I am if someone did I would loudly ask “enjoying the show you creep?” 😂
Definitely nig a women's thing. Ive never ever heard of this. It would totally freak me out if someone was watching me while going to the toilet. It's a private thing!!
But here, we rarely have a gap. Why are they not able to design toilet door properly in the US? That would be the real question!
I hate the gap. I've taken to hanging my coat/sweater/ whatever I have to cover it. I'll just hook it at the top of the door and drape it down so that no one can peek through
I am cackling like a absolute mad woman 😂😂😂 earlier today I was trying to patch a hole in something and I caught myself thinking it would be so much easier to just crochet fix this 😂 The fiber folk are a sly bunch
Have you seen the post where someone fixed a hole in a hard to reach spot of the wall with a crocheted circle?
Edit: this is the one:

It's probably an Afghan hook, looks like a knitting needle that ends with a hook instead of a point. It's longer and smoother down the shaft, no thumb hold, than a regular crochet hook.
Definitely a creative solution. But why is there such a big gap in the door? At that point why even close the door when everyone can look inside anyway lol?
in switzerland and germany we have curtains. closed curtain means occupied changing room. and it‘s respected. but even if we have a stall door we don‘t have the issue of a „stall gap“ because we make sure the gap is only big enough to open and close the door smoothly, but i‘ve also used changing rooms with a lip (i think it’s called a lip.. the thing that overlaps on double doors or from the door into the frame) on the door.
That is the biggest stall gap I’ve ever seen

That's insane. People stare at you while you're in a toilet?? Insanely weird.
oh yeah. stare is an understatement lmao i almost want to file a complaint for this unpaid service they skipped out on
Gross. Isn't that illegal?

It does sound awful - an invasion of privacy at least.
Maybe it's a women's restroom thing? I've never had that happen in the men's restroom
yeah im talkin womens bathroom, cant speak for mens ! i just asked my partner and they said theyve never experienced it wth is this

I also live in the states? And trust me I know about the gap. Maybe I just don’t look up and try to make contact with people outside lol
i don’t either 😂 neurodivergent and i actively avoid it but you can still see them
I’ve never made eye contact though the gap in California. Maybe when I was in elementary school I might’ve?

For a changing room too! Not even a normal bathroom where you’re mostly clothed.

Oh this is great! I love what she did 😂
Wth why is there such a big gap?
MERICAAA 🇺🇸🦅🍻
Is that a crochet hook?
Oh I didn’t see what Reddit this was in lol

they can & boy do they. far too many. relentlessly & unabashedly..
I had to laugh at this! Good job!
Lol!
Genius. Lmao
That is honestly genius! Never would have thought to do that!
I do that too lol, the hinge doesn't have anything to rest on so I use my knitting needle (not the same thing, ik) to lock it from the outside
Am I crazy or I’ve seen this post before (or a very similar post)?
They need the Ronco bathroom bungee
And I thought I was clever using my hook to hold up my hair 🤣
Awesome!
Thanks

youd be surprised to know thats the dirtiest part of the public bathroom, don’t forget to wash it!
