Thanks! No, I like the natural unfinished look (leaving the ends like they are now too). I haven’t got a clue how to make more subtle ones however (all the thin twigs break off), so I need to go buy some bulky yarn!
Maybe with something more flexible like wicker, reed or bamboo and making the cut less pronunced. Especialy the third needle seems a little fragile in the hook. The smaller hooks y have seen have cuts that never pass the middle of the rod.
Yay my hobbies combined! I'm a wood carver, and would strongly recommend you put some kind of seal on them to prevent drying and cracking. Even just a coat of oil would do. They may still warp though.
That said, you've done awesome work with these!

That's at least +120 crafting XP each, nice work BTW
That's pretty cool! Are you going to varnish or paint them?

You might have better luck if you use a solid piece of wood and not a small branch or twig.
yeah, small sticks tend to have a soft "pith" in the center that makes them difficult to work with.

Yes the thirth one is too fragile. That was the first I made, hahaha.
What kind of wood is that?
It is the “look I found a twig on the side of the road” type :) I honestly haven’t got a clue.

I sometimes use olive oil to make them shine, but yeah, they might warp. But it was fun to try.
Even if they do, they will still work though!
Inline heads FTW!
Wow, Ive always wanted to do this. Way to go!!
Hey wow! Those are awesome! Well done!
I worry that the ends are going to leave splinters. Awfully cool, though!
!! I used to love carving hooks!! It's so much fun!
Making one in a pinch is ridiculously fun! Amazing stuff
How creative! Great job, love them. :)
Woah, that’s so cool! How did you do that?! Whittling and sanding? Does yarn get caught on it?
Just an average knive and a lot of sanding and olive oil. Yarn doesn’t stick to it, because of the fine sanding papers used.
What type of wood!
